Symbol Properties- Source; 'file: '???

You can find this if you right click on a symbol in the
library and select properties. And in the Source section there is a
browse button for a file.
I have a remote library set up on a few symbols in a project
I am doing and thought that it would relate. However I can’t
seem to find any info on what this is. Does anyone know what this
‘source file’ is and how it can be used?

Yes, I was think it's a pathing problem.
Since you can't have two folders with exactly the same name, doing a copy/paste changes that path. OK .....so how can we cheat/fool Flash into using the same path (sort of) for two different folders?
Thinking out load: can you do some testing on a small scale... not the whole project?
Can you CUT/paste and make the destination folder work?
Use the same folder for both libraries? and path from the root folder... sort of like an absolute address but root relative? this needs to be done when you are making the original set of symbols.
Change the location of each sections Library folder so that they are not in the same main folder so that you could use the same subfolder name inside each section folder? For example:
section1_library/symbols
section2_library/symbols
allows you to use the exact same folder name for both section's symbols folder. So if the path to the symbols in "section1" is just /symbols, copy/pasting that into the folder "section2" gives exactly the same path. Now to actually make that work, you may need to introduce as many sub folder levels upward as needed to separate the sections. So review the symbol properties and determine how far up the folder lever you need to go.
Or there may be some simple way in Flash to set root relative paths so that the copy/paste will work... but I don't know of any.
Best wishes,

  • Why won't rich symbol properties show when the .jsf file exists?

In FW CS4 I've created a rich symbol via the "create symbol script" command, then I reloaded my common library, and put the symbol from common librray on a page.  Even though I have a .jsf file in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\Common Library\Custom Symbols to match my symbol, there are no symbol properties available for it on my page.
I can use the create symbol script command again on this symbol & it comes up with the same properties I had already defined.
What would stop symbol properties from showing up when the symbol is taken from a recently reloaded Common Library & placed on a page?
I've discovered that I can see the properties when I use this symbol in a totally brand new Fireworks file, but I can't in an existing file that ever had that same symbol before, even when I tell FW to "Replace the existing item."
Below is my jsf file contents.

Solution Found:  I had to explicitly delete the existing copy in my orginal FW file even though when I used the one from the common library I told it to "Replace the existing item"  I guess the replace doesn't really work for rich symbols.  After I deleted the symbol with the same name from the document library & pulled in the one from Common Library, it showed its rich symbol properties.

  • Generating debug symbols from a source file in assembly

    Hi,
I have a file written in the SPARC assembly language, which I can successfully assemble using the "as" command and produce an object file. However, the object file that it being produced does not have any debugging information in it. So when I link that object file into my program, I cannot debug that assembly code. (I don't need to be able to do full-fledged debugging, I would just like to know which lines in that assembly language file are being executed).
My question is: how can I get the assembler to produce the object file with enough debugging information to do this. A MIPS assembler that I used before accepts a combination of options "ahls", which allows you to know the lines that are being executed in the assembly source file when you debug the program. The SPARC assembler does not appear to have such options.
Do I need to extend the source file itself with additional information manually? Is there a manual that tells you how to do this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Are you using dbx to debug your assembly code? dbx allows you to step through and view assembly instructions with the stepi, stopi, nexti, and listi commands.

  • Garbage Symbols in build file

    Hi,
I am trying to build a hierarchy using a build rule. Now, whenever I open the build file in the rules file, I see some garbage symbols preceding the first entry in the first column which is not expected.
Please help me get rid of this.
    TIA,
    KRIS.

    Hi Kris,
I have seen this kind of thing for at least two reasons I can recall in past projects.
    1) The source file may have garbage characters of its own. Unlikely but it has happened to me.
Sometimes print control characters or other strange symbols were in flat file feeds back in the early days of Essbase from using accounting system trial balance dumps that were print formatted. I doubt this is the case for you but it never hurts to consider it and check it off the list.
    2) Odd field count and/or field/column definitions in your file.
Not too long ago, I was given a feed file that was a concatenated output file with half of its records contained extra fields compared to the first half. Coupled with some blank character packing issue on the source side, the data file opened in the rule editor with one row of odd characters in the first and only column displaying. My workaround until the source was fixed was processing this mainframe text file through Access which cleaned up the offending issues.
If #1 above is your issue, you can copy/paste the actual strange source characters from your file into the Options/Data Source Properties/Ignore Tokens field and they will forever be ignored (not field-specific, just a rejection for the whole file).
If #2 above is your issue, you'll find out by examing the entire file in an appropriate container like Access or KEDIT or whatever handles the file size for you. And then you should have the producers of the file check the processes and coding that produce the file. In the meantime, try my work around running your files through Access. Clumsy but a possible temporary fix.
I'm sure there may be other reasons, but I hope this helps you deal with the problem you are having.

  • Windows Easy Transfer (WET) Issues with External Hard Drive - "Can't read from the source file or disk"

I work for Office Depot, in the tech department. Basically, one of our associates was supposed to do a data backup, and re-install Windows 7, then transfer the files back. He used Windows Easy Transfer and compacted everything into a 163 GB file.
Now comes the hard part. When we try to put it back on his computer ((drag-and-drop to the desktop) which has been wiped back to factory settings using the recovery partition), it stops at 79.5 GB remaining (you know how it doesn't give you a % of completion,
it just shows how many GB are remaining) and then says "Can't read from the source file or disk" and gives you an option to try again, or cancel. It gets hung up on the same point each time.
Normally, this wouldn't be a huge issue, but the contents on the drive are his wife's architect blueprints and interior design stuff, along with wedding photos, etc, which are the only copies they have. On top of those, they have court documents and other
important files that we are unable to access now.
I wasn't involved with this transfer, so I'm trying to clean up the mess as best I can. I remembered that the customer's wife was Russian, and had some files typed with a Russian keyboard, so on and so forth. I wonder if that's the issue? If not, I really
have no idea how to manually extract things from a ".mig" file, or how to diagnose what area is potentially corrupted.
In light of this situation, we tried using "Recuva" to recover the files post-wipe, but everything was corrupted or unable to be opened, and it also extracted and recovered all of the "useless" photos, such as the skype logos, up and
down arrows for browsers, etc (it was 160,000+ photos).
Trying to avoid a potential lawsuit, unhappy customer, and costing the company lots of money to see if professionals can get into this external hard drive.
    Other relevant information:
We used a Toshiba 500 GB (465 GB) external hard drive.
Customer's computer is an HP Pavilion P6000 Series (Model No. p6520y) running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.
Any other information that is needed can be provided, thanks in advance, and hopefully we can find a solution to this issue quickly!
    -John

I think there's a lack of understanding somewhere.
"If you even can't start the process, please unplug it from your new PC. Then head back to your new computer and plug
the external drive back in to your new computer. "
Unplug from new, head back to new, plug it back in? That doesn't make much sense! Haha.
I knew what you meant though, somewhat. When I search through the drives after clicking yes (Has windows easy transfer
already saved your files blah blah blah) I click on the transfer file and it says "Windows Easy Transfer could not open the file".
Rather than drag-and-drop the file to the desktop, I now tried to double-click on the file itself while it was plugged
into the computer. It opened, and it started transferring until it was about 70% completed, and then an error popped up saying "WET can't open the easy transfer file, make sure your USB device is plugged in or check your internet connection".
I checked, and the USB hard drive's light wasn't on. Now, I unplug it and plug it back in, and the light comes back on,
so I click Retry, and it resets the bar back to nothing and says "Transfer time: 1 minute".
Rather than continue trying, I clicked "Cancel" instead of Retry, and it says "Your transfer did not complete successfully."
It says to click "view report" for more information, but there's no "view report button".
At the moment, I am scanning the External Drive for bad sectors using the check disk tool in properties. It's frozen
    at "0 USN bytes processed".

  • Pdf portfolio source file name and date in file details

Is it possible to import the source file name and extension as well as the source file created date in the portfolio file details?  Need to document source to portfolio in working with 3rd parties that will only have the original source.  Need to document what was converted into pdf as not all files in a directory will successfully convert to pdf.  Sometimes need to convert 100's of files.  Manual entry is inefficient.  the file names and modified dates are displayed on the Combine Files dialog.  is there a way to capture the detail on that page?

I don't need the detail of when the pdf was added to the portfolio.  I
need know which dwg or jpg or word file was converted and the original
created date of that file for control of information.
That is impossible; sorry. For some *very specific* types of conversion to PDF the pdfx:SourceModified XMP tag will be set to show the last-modification date of the source file (for example DOCX files converted using MS Word), but there will never be a human-readable record of the source filename or its creation date unless you have manually added them as document XMP properties after conversion (this is what the "Custom Properties" dialog is for). To embed source data automatically would raise no end of privacy and security problems for customers, who most certainly do NOT want their recipients seeing details of internal documents.
Without writing a plugin there's no access to the internal workflow of the Combine Files dialog, so you cannot use a script to read the names and dates of the files *before* conversion and store them automatically in the new PDF Portfolio's Fields array.

  • Bulk create Active Directory Users and Groups in PowerShell using Excel XLSX source file instead of CSV

Hi Scripting Guy.  I am a Server Administrator who is very familiar with Active Directory, but new to PowerShell.  Like many SysAdmins, I often need to create multiple accounts (ranging from 3-200) and add them multiple groups (ranging
from 1 - 100).  Previously I used VBS scripts in conjunction with an Excel .XLS file (not CSV file).  Since VBS is essentially out the door and PowerShell is in - I am having to re-create everthing.
I have written a PowerShell script that bulk creates my users and adds them to their corresponding groups - however, this can only use a CSV file (NOT an XLS file).  I understand that "CSV is much easier to use than Excel worksheets", but
most times I have three sets of nearly identical groups (for Dev, QA and Prod).  Performing Search and Replace on the Excel template across all four Worksheets ensures the names used are consistent throughout the three environments.
I know each Excel Worksheet can be exported as a separate CSV file and then use the PowerShell scripts as is, but since I am not the only SysAdmin who will be using these it leads to "unnecessary time lost", not to mention the reality that even
though you clearly state "These tabs need to be exported using this naming standard" (to work with the PowerShell scripts) that is not the result.
I've been tasked to find a way to modify my existing PowerShell/CSV scripts to work with Excel spreadsheets/workbooks instead - with no success.  I have run across many articles/forums/scirpts that let you update Excel or export AD data into an Excel
spreadsheet (even specifying the worksheet, column and row) - but nothing for what I am trying to do.
I can't imagine that I am the ONLY person who is in this situation/has this need.  So, I am hoping you can help.  How do I modify my existing scripts to reference "use this Excel spreadsheet, and this specific worksheet in the spreadsheet
prior to performing the New-ADUser/Add-ADGroupMember commands".
For reference, I am including Worksheet/Column names of my Excel Spreadsheet Template as well as the first part of my PowerShell script.  M-A-N-Y T-H-A-N-K-S in advance.

  • How to set default PDF print locations to be same as source file

Is it possible to make the "Save to" location for files created using the Adobe PDF print driver to be the same location as the source file?
When I checked the prefs dialog box in the Adobe PDF print driver, the only setting I found was to make "PDF Output Folder" either the "My Documents" folder or "Prompt for PDF File Name." I wish there were a third option that said "Same as source file."

Hi Daniel,<br /><br />Yes, it is possible to do so.<br /><br />Here is the solution:<br /><br />1) Open the PDF.<br />2) File->Print<br />3) Click the Properties button available on Print Dialog Box.<br />4) Select the Adobe PDF Settings Tab and you will find static text "Adobe PDF Output Folder", Go for "Browse" button available against that and select your preferred location.<br />5) Now the drop down menu will display all the options i.e. "My Documents" , "Prompt for PDF File Name" and "<Your selected Option>".<br /><br />I hope this will help resolve your issue.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Atul Agarwal<br />Adobe Systems

  • How can we handle graphics in DITA source files in order to display them correctly both in PDF and H

We are using FM9 to publish PDF and HTML output from DITA source files and we cannot find a way to display images correctly. By adjusting the appropriate DPI, the image gets correctly displayed in HTML but not in PDF where it appears cropped according to the the text frames of the source file in FM9, like this:
We have tried to enlarge the text frame in the source file but for some reasons FrameMaker doesn't take these changes into account.
By modifying the attribute of the element <fig> (expanse = page), it was possible to improve a bit the rendering in the PDF but not completely.
Our graphics are in JPG format.
Any help on this is highly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Al@s...
DITA doesn't provide a way to store additional information about anchored frame properties (since there is no "frame" element, just image), that's why FrameMaker doesn't allow you to set the frame size to something other than the image dimensions.
The "standard" DITA way to reference an image with two different DPIs is to insert multiple fig/image elements and conditionalize (via attributes and ditaval) each image so it shows up in the proper output. This can be a bit tedious to insert two images for each instance, but that's the typical way to handle it (unless you've got a CMS that switches the images for different output types).
If you use DITA-FMx, it provides a "fmdpi" feature which allows you to tag an image with the DPI you want to use in the FrameMaker-generated output, but the DITA coding sets no DPI (or height/width), so it uses the default image size for your HTML output.

  • Can not set source file for Fireworks png in Dreamweaver

I recently purchased Adobe Design Premium CS5 to replace my CS3, but I have a big
problem.  When I export a png in Fireworks to Dreamweaver it does not set the source
file correctly.  It places the Fireworks object on the page, but when I select the table
that holds the Fireworks object, the path for the source on the Properties panel is
wrong - it says menu2.png.  The correct document relative path is dress_images/menu2/menu2.png.
When I drag the Point to File icon over the menu2.png on the Files panel, it correctly displays
the full path, but when I let go of it, it sets the path back to menu2.png.  I can not even type it
in the source box and get it to stay.
Here is the problem.  When I click on the Edit button, it says it can't find the png.  It is using
the full path from the C: drive instead of the document relative path.  If I browse to the png file
and open it in Dreamweaver then click the Done button, it saves the png file but does not change
any of the content on the HTML page.
Fireworks and Dreamweaver CS3 worked perfectly here.  Help!
I just tried to do this on another computer.  This time when I pasted the Fireworks HTML onto the
page in Dreamweaver it set the path correctly (it was a root relative path instead of a document
relative path).  I tried to edit in Fireworks using the Edit button, and it opened Fireworks without
any problem.  I made some changes then clicked the Done button.  Now the Done button is suppose
to be like magic.  It is suppose to save the changes to the png file, make the changes on the HTML
page in Dreamweaver, and change any of the supporting files (images) that have been edited.  It
always worked this way in CS3, and anything less than this would be a huge step backwards.  In this
case, it saved the changes to the png, but did not make any other changes.  The web page in
Dreamweaver is still the same.  How do I get the Done button to work its magic using CS5.
Another problem - when I paste the code onto the page, the page looks totally messed up.  If I save it
and reopen it then it looks fine.  However, this never occurred with CS3.  Aren't updates to software
    suppose to be improvements?
    Thanks.
    Nathan

Yes, the web site is correctly defined in Dreamweaver.  I teach web design for both high school and
adult school, and I have done this procedure 100's of times with CS3.  There is something different with
CS5.  I took your suggestion and imported the Fireworks HTML using Insert -> Image -> Fireworks HTML,
but it still does not work.  I can edit it in Fireworks, hit the Done button, and the png file is saved but
the HTML page remains the same.
Also, the export does not get the path right, and it will not let me set the path right.  The only way the path
is right is if the page that I am pasting the Fireworks HTML is in the same folder as the png.  It always
sets the png's path as menu.png.  Therefore, if the page is in a different folder, the document relative path
won't find it.  This was never a problem with CS3.  In fact, you could paste the code using Control-V and it
would work 100% of the time.  That is how we always did it.  When exporting from Fireworks, I would set
Export to "copy to clipboard" then move to Dreamweaver, click where I wanted the code pasted and do Control-V and presto it would
always work.  You could come back a month later, select the table, click the Edit button, make changes
in Fireworks, click the Done button and the changes would be reflected on the HTML page in Dreamweaver without
doing anything more.  I have tried it with "copy to clipboard" and I have tried it with "export HTML file".  Neither
works.  There is definitely something different between CS3 and CS5, and right now I am missing CS3.
Thanks for your help.  I will keep fighting this until I get it, but any additional input would be appreciated.
    Nathan

  • [SOLVED] [makepkg] attempts to process source files multiple times

OK, so I decided I was going to update the PKGBUILD for linux-lts-tresor to the new format with separate sources for different architectures and PGP keys, having successfully done it for the nvidia packages I maintain and I get the following issue when I run mkaurball on the linux-lts-tresor PKGBUILD:

OK, so either I'm committing a huge stupid with both TRESOR packages or there is actually a problem with makepkg. I've done similar changes with the linux-tresor PKGBUILD and it's doing the same thing.

Here is the resulting source tarball.
As far as I can see, they should be working PKGBUILDs too which meet the standards.
    EDIT: Here's the bug report

  • Offline Servicing of OS fails (failed to find properties of file 5)

    Hi,
I'm unable to get the Offline Update Servicing of the OS to work. In the OfflineServicingMgr.log I Keep getting:
    Failed to get update applicability. Dism.exe command line is below:"C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe" /q /c ""D:\Microsoft\Windows Kits\8.1\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Deployment Tools\amd64\DISM\dism.exe" /Image:"D:\ConfigMgr_OfflineImageServicing\I0100042\ImageMountDir" /LogPath:%WINDIR%\Logs\Dism\dism_sccmAMD64.log /English /Get-PackageInfo /Packagepath:"D:\ConfigMgr_OfflineImageServicing\fc1721b9-7ee8-44a6-9842-b7d89596f126\KB2890660.cab">>D:\ConfigMgr_OfflineImageServicing\I0100042\[email protected]"
after this happened 5 times I get the following:
Failed to find properties of file 5
    UnMounting Image (Commit Changes = 0) ...
Completed processing image package I0100042. Status = Failed
I also checked the dism_sccmAMD64.log but can't find a solution to this Problem, there are to much Errors in there.

Right before, the error you mentioned, I see a couple of file not found message. You might want to check those, still it can be anything from a file that doesn't exist till too little disk space.

  • Add class without a source file in Jbuilder

I have a project with 10 classes. I have been given the source files of the seven of them and the final three class files of the rest. The thing is that when I am trying to compile one of the seven source files which need the already made class files they cannot be compiled because they cannot find the 3 class files.
I am using jbuilder 5 and it is a servlet project.I read somewhere that I have to add too the 3 class files in the libraries that the project uses?Is this correct and how can i do it?
It is not just enough to add the class files in the project?
    thanks....

    This may work...
Take a look at 'Project/Project properties', which will bring up a dialog box, containing 'paths' tab. Under this click on 'required libraries', then 'add', and then 'new' then add the directory of your class files. If this doesn't work, add the classes to a jar and add the jar to your required library path.
Hope this works, post back if not

  • Differences between various source files in mdm import manager

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me the differences between the source files(access, xml, xml schema, excel) available in mdm import manager?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rithesh

    Hi Ritesh,
MDM Import Manager provides flexibility to Import Data from different types of Sources into MDM.
You can import data into MDM from below mentioned sources using Import Manager:
    1. From Files (Access, Delimited Text, Excel, Fixed Text, XML and XML Schema)
    2. Directly from Data base source (SQL server and oracle)
As mentioned by Mandeep, XML Schema is something which you define in MDM console in advance. and then later select the Data source XML file and XML schema from drop down list (it will show all schema defined in console ) to validate XML source file against the XML schema.
For automated Import, Ports are used. Ports are nothing but a logical point of contact with other systems i.e. other systems or middleware will drop file on the port for authomatic import and MDM import server will scan the port directory and if file is present then will import data automatically from file into MDM using a predefine Import Map. (this map needs to be defined manually in import manager and then assigned to port using console).
Please check page no 45 of import manager reference guide for more details about various source properties of Import Manager.  (*link for import manager reference guide is already provided on the earlier post)
Also check, page no 53 to 64 for how to import process. Kindly revert if you have any query.

  • Application Builder Source File Settings

I've recently upgraded to the full version of LV 8.2 and purchased the license for the application builder.  On the "Source File Settings" tab I would like the program to not run when opened, and not to show the tool or scroll bars.  Although I've tried several different check, uncheck combination my final .exe alwyas has these options enabled.  I checked my original VI properties and it is not set to run at start up.  I'm not even sure what the "Value" highlight section is for.  My program is a simple temperature monitor and aquisition program with no sub-vi's.  What am I overlooking?
    Thanks.
