Sync 1 most recent TV show doesnt work!!!

I have 2 TV shows that i subscribe to through iTunes (LOST, and The Office)When i try and sync them to my ipod it syncs two random shows, not the most recent ones. I havent touched any info on the shows, adn dont know whats going on.

Are all of the videos on your iPod already? The might explain the actions. Did you try just dragging those videos into the iPod directly from iTunes by setting your iPod to manually update?

Syncing 10 Most Recent TV shows not working

I've purchased the season pass to Lost. I tell AppleTV and iTunes to sync the 10 most recent episodes of Lost to the AppleTV. My AppleTV only has the first 10 episodes of the season. I noticed my season of Venture Brothers only has 10 epsiodes I watched. It left out the 3 epsiodes I haven't watched yet. Is this normal?

That feature never worked for me in iTunes anyways. I've created smart playlists to do the trick. In the latest iTunes (7.1) I've noticed a "Mark as New" or "Mark as Not New" feature (upon ctrl-clicking). I know that iTunes is VERY finicky in that let's say you watch an entire episode, and you're like me, you don't wait til the very very end of the episode before you exit out, and stop the play of the file. The file will NOT register as "watched"...thereby effecting any smart playlists of "unplayed" etc.
It seems like you should try to "Mark as New" or "Mark as Not New", on the Lost files you're referring to, and see what happens.

You don't need to delete anything from your phone or you old computer.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer or backup to /Music/ on new computer.
If you cannot use the old computer or don't have a backup...
-> Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
Then immediately make a backup of your new computer.
Get an external drive and plug it in and use -> Time Machine

Calendar Syncing most recent change

Syncing calendars on iPhone 3GS with Outlook 2007 via iTunes. Is there a setting that will direct the sync to select the most recent calendar entry and/or change? For example, a planned event exists on both calendars. If I change the event date in Outlook, when I then sync the iPhone with Outlook, the original event date will be restored in Outlook as it was listed on the iPhone calendar, and the new, changed date will also be shown on both calendars. I need the iPhone to recognize the more recent change in Outlook and accept that change. I also need the reverse process to work, with changes made on the iPhone calendar to be reflected in Outlook following the sync.

The iphone is designed to work as you want it to.
Something is amiss with your individual iphone/situation.

Recent Apps button doesnt work

The recent apps button on my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has stopped working. Any one else have this issue, and was it able to be resolved? Tried turning phone off then on and even did a factory reset.

Sync most recently created playlist in a playlist folder

I have a playlist folder, and each playlist is a different week's Billboard chart. Each playlist is named by the date of the chart, ie "Country Chart 02-28-11." I'd like to have the most recent one sync automatically to my iPhone. Is there a trick to doing that?
I thought I could create a smart playlist that would always be a copy of the most recent playlist, and sync that, but I haven't figured out how to do that. Any suggestions?

Your iPhone was probably set to sync your old playlist but haven't for the newly created one.
Plug your iPhone to your computer, select it in iTunes and then select the music tab. In this tab, look at which playlist is selected to be sync with your phone.

Ipod synced with my computer that doesnt work anymore

my ipod is synced to a computer that got struck by lighting. Since then ive gotten a new computer and ive downloaded itunes and everything but when i hook the ipod up to the computer it says that the ipod has been synced with another library. that library is on the fried computer. the only choices that it gives is to erase and sync with this library on the new computer or transfer purchases. can anybody help me get all my songs on my ipod to my new computer?

1). Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. 4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

Most recent 5 entries on front .mac podcast page

I'm trying to use a .mac account to get podcasts on the iTunes store. I've got everything set up, but only the 5 most recent podcast entries show up on the front page of my .mac podcast page. Older entries get pushed into the archive page.
Then, on the iTunes store, only my 5 most recent entries show up.
Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a way I can get the podcasts that are in my archive to show up on the front page, and/or at the iTunes store?

if you want to have all of your entries to appear on the front page you need to go to the INSPECTOR, then to the RSS tab and from the scroller, choose how many entries you want on the fron page.

IPhoto error, won't open, says it needs the most recent version

I have an early 2009 mac pro desktop with 6 megs of ram. iPhoto error, won't open, says it needs the most recent version to work but the most recent version won't work either because I have Mountain Lion. I downloaded iPhoto from the App store and the store said "you can't download the most recent version because you don't have Mavericks - would you like to download an older version?" So I said yes and downloaded it. It is actually the Mavericks version that downloads anyway. So I used an older version from my other computer and updated it to version 9.4.3. When I try to open it it says you need the most recent version. My library is on an external drive which was downgraded from Mavericks back to Mountain Lion because Mavericks wouldn't work properly on my computer. Now no version will open.
What can I do? Thank you for your help in advance.

The exact error message is:
THe library "iPhoto Library" cannot be opened. To open it, you must upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto. Then the Quit button is at the bottom of the dialog box.
I did install iPhoto 9.5 when I installed Mavericks, Keep in mind that all of my photos are not on the boot drive but they are on an external drive. I then got rid of Mavericks and did a fresh install of Mountain Lion then I copied the contents of a previous drive that only had Mountain Lion on it. 9.5 wouldn't open in Mountain Lion so I copied an older version from another computer and updated it to 9.4.3. 9.4.3 says you must upgrade to the latest version and 9.5 says you need an older version. So I am stuck now.

Average of the best (8) of most recent 20 events

Anyone know a formulae approach to determine the average of the best (8) of the most recent (20) events.
I can do this manually by sorting the whole table by date, then selecting the most recent (20) events (rows), sorting those by the values in the column of interest, then selecting the best (8) and calculate the average.
I looked at using Automator, but could not find a way of to cope with the change of table size (since new rows of data are added every other day).

I looked up the description of the formulae, added the range (20 most recent rows), and it worked like a treat:
=AVERAGE(SMALL(M2:M21,1),SMALL(M2:M21,2),SMALL(M2:M21,3),SMALL(M2:M21,4),SMALL(M 2:M21,5),SMALL(M2:M21,6),SMALL (M2:M21,7),SMALL(M2:M21,8))
The result is the average of the eight (8) smallest scores from the 20 most recent rounds, exactly what I was looked to do.

Using Quinn's suggestion, provided I ensure the table is always displayed in it's default mode [all rows sorted by date in descending order],
the above formulae will always give me the correct answer.
Since I am the only user right now, this will be refined enough.
But thank you, I have made a note of your suggestion, and will incorporate it into my next version.
PS: I note that it is not possible (well, I could not find a way) to edit the formulae in the Cell.
So I copied and pasted it into Pages, then did a Find-Replace, LARGE to SMALL, and A to M2:M21, then copied and pasted it back into the Numbers Cell.

After updating to mavericks microsoft office doesnt work !

Just realised after updating OS to mavericks my microsoft office 2011 stopped working properly. Lets see:. powerpoint issues
1. No background colour visualy can see on the slides on the left corner
2. Powerpoint quits unexpectidely
3. Slides show doesnt work, quits or black screen appears
4. After editing sand saving powerpoint don't save any changes
Is anyone have solution? or expierencing the same issues, please advise.
Still working on microsoft office it closes as well unexpectidely.
Possible it is no worth upgrade to mavericks as is really annoying when i need to work with office.

My issue is now fixed.
Here's what I did. (I don't know which part actually fixed it, though.)
- made sure that Excel was not running in the background (it wasn't)
- deleted the preferences in ~/Library/Preferences for Microsoft Office
- deleted the preferences in /Library/Preferences for Microsoft Office
- rebooted
- re-started Excel: it started with a screen saying "Your copy of Microsoft Office is now authorized."
- in Excel, went under "Help" and chose "Check Updates"; this found a small update, which I applied
- in Excel, did Check Updates again which then found a much bigger update, which I too applied
- checked updates again to be told it was up to date
From there it seemed to work as it should. Hopefully, this will help someone in the same situation.

you could try forcing it into recovery mode by turning it off, hold the home button and plug it into iTunes at the same time, keep holding the home button until iTunes says its detected a device that needs to be updated or restored. Then restore.

IPhone dead, pictures showing up via iCloud but not most recent?

Here's the deal- I made the great mistake of accidentally taking my phone for a spin in the washer last night and it might or might not resurrect in the next few days (it was dry when I pulled it out, so I'm still holding on to some hope). I have an iPad and as a last ditch effort to save my phone photos, I turned on photo stream. It worked great and several dozen pictures from up til early last week showed up. However, there are a good many pictures I took in the last week that aren't appearing, so I'm curious as to how these recent-but-not-most-recent pictures appeared but not the latest ones. I hadn't turned on photo stream on my iPad at any point before last night (post-phone death), so I'm unsure what's going on or if there's anything else I can do to connect the latest photos to another device. Not sure how these things work, but I'm assuming it uses wi-fi... do you think the fact that photo stream connected to my phone at all means there's some hope for my phone's second life? Or was it possibly just the ghost of my phone giving its last ounce of energy to the cloud before dying? Any input would be nice, as I've scoured the Internet for answers.

Are you talking about syncing notes and photo stream photos? If so, first make sure your notes are in iCloud by going to icloud.com on your computer. If they are, make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and try going to Settings>iCloud, turning Notes to Off, then after a minute or so, turn it back On.
Photo stream photos are only uploaded after enabling photo stream. If the photos were already on your device when you enabled photo stream, then would not have been uploaded. Try taking a new photo, then see if it appears in your my photo stream album.

I tried downloading a CD (lots of my itunes music is from CDs) and it went as normal but when i downloaded it to my ipod it doesnt say the name of the artist. I've tried everything. It only did this after i downloaded the most recent itunes version

So a lot of my music in iTunes is CDs and recently I was trying to download another CD to it and everything went as normal until I downloaded it to my iPod. So I know that to get everything to match you have to change the names and stuff to get the album to match the iTunes version exactly so that everything will go smoothly and I did that but when I downloaded it to my iPod I saw that it didn't name the artist. Where it should say the artist it says "Unknown Artist". I thought that it was just that particular album but than I tried downloading another album and the same thing happened. I've tried everything. I've double checked to make sure the album matches the iTunes version and it still does it. Everything is fine on the iTunes on the computer. It says the artist and stuff but than on my iPod it doesn't. The album artwork, name of the album, and name of the songs are all there but the name of the artist isn't. It never did this before and it started right after I downloaded the latest version of iTunes so since it happened twice I think it may be a glitch with either my iPod or with iTunes but I thought maybe somebody could help me? I guess it's not important but it really bothers me. Especially since it could be avoided.

Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.
