Synchronize / interface 2 SAP HRM systems.

Dear community, here at a customer in NL we would like to keep 2 seperate SAP HRM systems in sync. One of these HR systems is the source system and is called the parent. But there are a few infotypes where the child system is the source, this is related to Time infotypes. Both systems are equal in terms of release and patch level.
My questions are:
-Does anyone of you have experience with interfacing in a simular setup? If yes please let me know what your experiences were.
-What type of interface would you suggest, if FTP is the method to send data across.
(and what would you recommend, e.g. if FTP was not the mandatory method)
-How to keep control ? How can we make sure all new and changed data is send and received correct in the child system?
Much apprieciated if you can provide some input for this case!
Many thanks,

Hi,
This kind integration is done using native SAP integration mechanism ALE "Application Link Enabling".
It allows seamlessly integrate SAP systems.
Please check SDN page about it: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/ale
For your case there is a special scenario for integration of 2 SAP HR systems: HR Master data distribution.
This document shed more light on it: http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/CABFAALEHR/CABFAALEHR_ALE_VERT.pdf
Regarding your questions:
-Does anyone of you have experience with interfacing in a simular setup? If yes please let me know what your experiences were.
Yes, this is well known master data distribution scenario managed with ALE.
-What type of interface would you suggest, if FTP is the method to send data across.
(and what would you recommend, e.g. if FTP was not the mandatory method)
This is standard SAP interface, no addition development is need if you use only standard infotypes and fields.
-How to keep control ? How can we make sure all new and changed data is send and received correct in the child system?
During interface set up you define what system is master for what infotypes, then these settings are used during data exchange. All changes are registered with change pointers what makes sure that all necessary changes are interfaced.

  • XI server: External XML to SAP interface: No own business system

Hi, we have inbound XML interfaces into SAP via XI using JMS queues. We have a dev, test and int. test environment. The dev and test environments work OK. The int. test environment has just been set up. The XML appears in the XI server, viewed via monitor SXI_MONITOR. It has a red flag error, within the XML trace, No own business system, seee below for full msg. I've test in config and the receiver is determined correctly. Can anyone help? • Interface and SAP system issue

    hi Experts
Scenario : We have External system (Interface) and SAP system. GR usually done in External system for stock materials PO , then it will transfered and updated in SAP system thro IDOC daily bases.
And then in SAP ,Zreport is there to find out any discrepancy in stocks(Between Extrnl and SAP system).
Problem: They had done GR in external system and they had transferred to SAP throu IDOC. (This usually bieing processed for 1000 of materials.
Now for some materials its showing  discrepancy error in Zreport eventhough the SAP system got updated on stocks throu IDOC from external system. ( Not for all materials only for very few case).
So any experts has come across this kind situation in thier experiance .. how to solve this ??
Note : If any Bacth job is being done in background in SAP after updation the stocks in SAP system throu IDOC. How to find out the batch job in back groud ???
    Thanks

    hii
    Thanks for ur response.
I did't mention in previous message, IDOC got posted in SAP system perfectly without any error . (I have cross checked IDOC).
But after idoc posting in SAP system , the Zreport getting updated , so here is my confusion and doubt.
Where there can be any system in background to update stocks in Zreport from SAP system. Is it possible to find from our side batch job has being processed between standard SAP and Zreport .
There is any way to find ???

  • SAP certified professional - ABAP system interfaces with SAP netweaver 7.0

    Hi,
I have one and half years experience in ABAP. I want to do "SAP CERTIFIED DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL - ABAP SYSTEM INTERFACES WITH SAP NETWEAVER 7.0".
I am currently in U.S and would like to do the certification here. Whom do I need to contact and what are the documents I need to furnish. Please throw some light on the process.
    Thanks,
    Poonam.

    Dear Poonam,
the "Professional"-Certification is very very hard - during my last Certifcation Exam, all candidates with the Pro-Exam failed (I was so glad I chose the normal certification...)
Here's how to book your exam:
Go to [http://www.sap.com/services/education/certification/index.epx|http://www.sap.com/services/education/certification/index.epx] and follow the instructions ("visit the local SAP Education Web site for the country").
Figure out the exam code for your certification. Example: For the US, there is a downloadable list (PDF) of exams available, called "list of the available certification exams".
Schedule the exam according to the rules of your region - here is the link for the US:

    hi,
actually you can find your sid on your certificate itself ... your sid will start with SXX .. ok now along with this you will receive an envelope in which there would be an letter where detalis regarding your sid and password for login access in sap market place will be stated... so you can login with that in server market place.... usually you get this along with the certificate and is being provided by the centres authority...   now if you have not received it so you need to contact your centre and tell them to give it to you... if they dont barged then you can ask them for the concern guy's email .... this guy is the one who receives all the documents relating with your certificate .. now this guy is someone from sap labs banglore ...  also if you have not received your id card so you can mail him or tell your centre authority in that case now usually the centre guys take the matters lightly ...
ok and as far as your certification exams goes i did search the pearson website they really dont have that professional certification for the abap guys but they do have one for functionals and some other....
ok now you need to approach yout nearest certification centre in that case and simply ask them that you need to appear for level 2 certification also you can contact the sap labs banglore in that case but i know that they are not responding .....
so in that matter you tell your centre that you need to schedule the certification they will charge you the certification amount and then will  schedule the date..... yes they can do that.
hope this will surely help you!!!
    thanks & regards,
    Punit Raval.

  • Verify SAP HR connector connection with SAP Target system - OIM 11.1.2

    Hi All,
We are using SAP ER 9.1.2 connector and configured as follows,
    1) Installed SAP ER connector from Admin console (In oim db Common.jar, SAPCommon.jar and SAPER.jar files are created)
    2) The connector guide says to copy sapjco3.jar and sapidoc3.jar shud be placed into Oracle_home/Xellerate/ThirdParty folder. As we r using OIM 11.1.2 placed it in Oracle_IDM1/server/ThirdParty folder. Also Uploaded Thirdparty file into oim db using UploadJars.sh.
    3) copied libsapjco3.so file into /usr/local/jco directory and added the same path to LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment varialble
    4) Restarted OIM server
    5) To check if SAPJCo is correctly installed, ran below command
    java –jar JCO_DIRECTORY/sapjco3.jar
    java –classpath JCO_DIRECTORY/sapjco3.jar com.sap.conn.jco.rt.About
Doubt: In OIM 11.1.2 we upload files into oim db. So, how does running files in ThirdParty folder verifies SAPJCo installation.
    6) Configured SAP HR IT resource parameters as given by our SAP application team.

    Hi.
Have you solved this? I'm getting the same error and documentation is not clear.
It says to add an entry to /etc/service (in my case there's a service using the same tcp port) and the copy a .ini file to "root" directory, which I understand is "/" in a linux system.
    Thank you.

To  establish communicate between SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP PI ( R/3 system using proxies )-
we have setup following steps on ECC 6.0 system-
    1) Created a HTTP connection in the business system of type H.
Please let me know what is the path prefix we need to set.
    2) Configuration Business system as local Integration Engine.
    3) Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory

I have developed a sample interface to send data from SAP ECC --->PI --> File system ( Proxy to file interface)
When i run the report to call the proxy it is pushing the data on the integration engine of the ECC system.
How can i debug what is the problem is ? why the data is not getting pushed on PI system using proxy ?
How can i debug this ? Please let me know if i am missing any thing in proxy activation between ECC to PI system.
    Regards,

    Hi ,
I have cross checked the activation steps.
I am able to create a interface proxy to File
SAP ECC R/3 system --- > SAP PI ---> File system
I have created a proxy on ECC R/3 system using SPROXY. when i trigger the proxy using a abap report the data is not getting pushed on to SAP PI system .
When i do a SXMB_MONI on ECC system it should call the integration server as out bound ... It is throwing a error message as mentioned below.

  • Switch over between two SAP PI systems for downtime minimization

    Hello Colleagues,
with our interfaces over our SAP PI 7.31 (ABAP/Java) system we assume we will run in a 7x24 h runtime scenario in the future.
Regarding Business Continuity we have to think about solutions which help us to handle downtimes greater than 15 min. regarding Support Package upgrade, Kernel update, EHP, etc.
The first idea is to implement a second equal SAP PI productive system in parallel to the existing one.
On the sender side a switch over implementation like WebDispatcher, Load Balancer, etc.
For maintenance all Interface traffic can run over PI Nr. 1 and PI Nr. 2 can be updated.
Afterward all interfaces will switched to PI Nr. 2 and PI Nr. 1 can go in maintenance.
Could be this as suitable solution for SAP PI Business Continuity or do you know better solutions?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jochen

    Hello Bernhard, Hello Holger,
many thanks for reply and providing these valuable information's.
The nZDM Concept is already known to me but it doesn’t answer all our questions.
Please let me explain a little more in detail.
Not currently but in the near future we assume some new interface over our SAP PI System will come with the requirement max. downtime lower thank 10 to 15 min. only allowed.
To be prepared regarding this possible scenario, we start thinking about possible different solutions.
First step was the nZDM Concept, of course. But it didn’t meet all our requirements regarding interface downtime.
    Some points are:
possible min. downtime is 30 min. and thus is over our requirements for interfaces
only for Update (and planed for Upgrade) the SAP PI application
all operating system and database related maintenance tasks are not covered by nZDM
all Hardware (Server, Storage, etc.) as well not covered by nZDM
Among others, because of these facts we start thinking about a second equal SAP PI system beside to existing productive one.
Than line 1 will take over the whole interface traffic and in the meantime the line 2 can go in maintenance. After finalizing the maintenance for SAP PI Nr. 2 we can switch the interface traffic to SAP PI Nr. 2 to get SAP PI Nr. 1 free for maintenance.
Regarding the topic “PI Federation” I found here in these documentation's several hints regarding this scenario (two SAP PI systems in an switch over scenario).
    PI Federation – An Overview
    among others  Page: 27
Business Continuity: Central PI integration Server with redundant Integration Server to be used in controlled switch over scenarios when upgrading or patching.
    or
How to Fast-Switch Integration Scenarios between SAP PI Runtimes Part II: Web Dispatcher
But I didn’t found any further detail documentation's regarding this approach.
The solution should fit as well to our existing hardware infrastructure.
For production we use an IBM (AIX) failover-cluster switch between our both data center.
Regarding our hardware infrastructure prerequisites and downtime requirements, which solution(s) do you recommend? Is PI Federation still an option?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jochen

Has anyone seen a similar error?

    Hey,
I see the same issue and need to make this change as well, where are these settings? I couldn't find them in the setDomainEnv or setSOADomainEnv.

Does your connector test after adding your backend system in portal works fine?
Did you define a system alias?
Make sure your SSO is working,
Also check your Jco detination webdynpro tab.
