Synchronous communication of JDBC adapter with BPM

Hello XI-Experts,
Could you please give me example where BPM is having a Synchronous communication with JDBC adapter??
plz do help.
Thanks & Regards,
Vanita

Vanita,
Let's consider the below scenario.
A File contains the SQL query, you need to fetch the data from DB system using that SQL query and write it to a file. You can configure like below
File Adapter to pick the file and send it to BPM
Mapping Transformation to create the SQL request
Call DB using JDBC adapter Synchronously
Mapping Transformation to Convert the Response from DB and write it to a file.
Does it seems to be a valid scenario you are looking for? Any questions let us know.

  • Async/Sync Communication using JMS adapter without BPM

    Hello ,
Pls suggest how Async/Sync Communication using JMS adapter without BPM .
In my scenario I have JMS Sender and then RFC/JDBC as Sync and then again JMS receiver
    Pls explain  the concept of
JMSMessageID and JMSCorrelationID  and how to use it by an example.
    Regards

    Hi,
If you have selected JMSMessageID, JMSCorrelationID, or JMSProperty and entered a JMS message ID in these fields, you should see the Remove 'ID:' Marker from JMSMessageIDindicator. Set the indicator.
This is necessary because the JMS specification stipulates that each JMS message ID starts with 'ID'. However, this conflicts with ISO-11578.
    - JMSMessageID (Uniqueness Is JMS-Provider-Dependent)
(String) The unique message ID. Note that this is not a required field and can be null. Since the JMS provider might not use your provided message ID, the Connector sets a special property called $jms.messageid after sending a message. This is to insure that the message ID always is available to the user. To retrieve this value use conn.getProperty("$jms.messageid") in your After Add hook.
    - JMSCorrelationID (Uniqueness Is JMS-Sender-Dependent)
(String) This header is set by the application for use by other applications.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Sync/Async communication in JMS adapter without BPM

    Hi,
as of SP19 XI's JMS adapter offers this new feature for Sync/Async communication through JMS Adapter modules instead of using a BPE.
Now I would be interested to know if anybody has already successfully used this feature especially using WebSphere MQ as a JMS Provider (preferredly in the mode JMS Compliant: WebSphere MQ (non-JMS)).
I experienced some issues with the XI Message ID being used as the JMS Correlation ID which is then mapped to the MQ Correlation ID being truncated after 24 characters. So I don't exactly know whether this is due to wrong setup or some general issues with this messaging system.
Please let me know if you have any experiences at all with this new feature (please do not just post links to the following blogs, which I have thoroughly studied as well as the How-to Guide concerning this topic)

    Hi Peter,
we working on the same Problem. Using IBM Websphere MQ as JMS Provider for the new feature: sync/async bridge without BPE.
we switched on a high level trace for the adapter framework and saw a problem in the receiving Object of the JMS correlation id. The notify bean receives the JMS correlationid in hex format. so the beans have two different correlations, which could not find together.
did you have any solution to get this new feature works with IBM Websphere ?

    HI,
In my scenario i have to use  JDBC lookup to get the data ,but  here i do not have operation mapping  ( this part i am doing  in BPM).. to select JDBC Look  up communication channel.

  • Sender JDBC Adapter with Mutiple SQL Database Tables.

    Hi All,
    My requirement is SQL->PI7.0->BI.
I have a plan to go with the senario like this : JDBC sender->SAPPI->ABAP Proxy.
And also I need fetch the data from more than 10 data tables with different database tables with key fields.
Could you please suggest me, How to extract all tables data to SAP PI System. Either need to go with Stored procedures or Any Join conditions or each table like as one Interface.
    Please provide me your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    Hi ,
    Chandra ,
    Best way is Database Views
Involve a Database guy in your scenario : Tell DBA the fields required , tell DBA the PrimaryKey and ForeignKey Relation Between All your 10 Tables.
DBA will create a View for you on 10 Tables.
So in Ur SELECT Query . you can write simply
    Select * from <ViewName>;
And One more thing to Tell DBA to create a UPDATABLE VIEW not only READ-ONLY View.
By this way you can way you can Update VIEW  also in UPDATE QUERY of sender Adapter...

  • Sender JDBC Adapter in a synchronous szenario

    Hi,
i am trying to set up following szenario:
A JDBC Sender Adapter is polling data from a database, this data is beeing mapped to a synchronous RFC-Call to the R/3 backend. The result from the RFC-Call contains an order-number, which should be stored in the database.
The query of the DB and the rfc-call works fine. The query is also doing the UPDATE statement to the DB, marking this line of data as beeing processed.
The QOS in the sender-jdbc-adapter is set to "Best Effort", which should allow a synchronous communication.
I am mapping the response of the rfc-call to a jdbc-receiver-like structure, in the monitoring i can see the rfc-result and also the message to update the databae. There are no errors in the adapter-monitoring and everything looks fine, except that the database is not beeing updated.
Is there another messageformat for the synchronous answer to a sender-jdbc-adapter?  Or is it possible, that the commit for the answer is not beeing sent?
We have an XI3.0 with SP16 installed.
    Thanks for your help.
    Ingo

    hi,
you cannot use the Sender JDBC adapter to Upate.
Create a receibver JDBC adapter with the format as mentioned and use it to update the DB.
the steps in BPM wil be ,
    1. Receive -- for Sender JDBC adapter
2- Send Synchronous -- RFC call synchrnous
3 - Send -- using Receievr JDBC adapter to Insert / Update the DB.
Do let me know if u need further info,

  • JDBC Adapter Configuration

    Hello,
In JDBC Adapter, is there any other way to fetch the data other than select query?
Our Scenario is like Transferring Project Information (PS Module) from Primavera to SAP. We fetch data from Primavera Through JDBC adapter with writing a select query. And we also give poll interval so after every pollinterval JDBC adapter again run the query and send it to integration Engine.
But our requirement is once the project query executed next time only updated record transfer to SAP. IS XI gives this kind of feature?

  • Reg:JDBC adapter

Is it possible to fetch the data from 5 different database tables using a sngle CC where JDBC is configured on sender side.if yes how?
points will be rewarded for correct answers immediately....
    regards
    chandrakanth

    Hello ,
You either use a select query with join or a stored procedure which will contain the logic to extract the data from multiple tables. But, the limitation in case of stored procedure is u can hv only one selct query in it.
JDBC adapter will be able to holdany select query irrespective of how long it is.
    Sample code
    SELECT <Table_2>.EID, <Table_2>.FName, <Table_2>.LName, <Table_1>.REC_DAT, <Table_1>.DESCRP
FROM <Table_1> INNER JOIN <Table_2> on
    <Table_1>.CARDNO = <Table_2>.CARD
    where REC_DAT = <condition>
    union
    SELECT <Table_2>.EID, <Table_2>.FName, <Table_2>.LName, <Table_1>.REC_DAT, <Table_1>.DESCRP
FROM <Table_1> INNER JOIN <Table_2> on
    <Table_1>.CARDNO = <Table_2>.CARD

  • Sender JDBC Adapter - Stored procedure

Hello all, I just read a lot of topics in this forum about this subject.
I found two indications in contracdictions in the documentation :<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/5df96381ec72468a00815dd80f8b63/frameset.htm">Configuring the Sender JDBC Adapter</a>
    1. Concerning Query SQL Statement
    You have the following options:
&#9679;     Specify a valid SQL SELECT statement to select the data to be sent from the specified database.
&#9679;     Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
    2. Concerning Update SQL Statement :
This is recommended if the data has not only been read, but also changed by a stored procedure entered under Query SQL Statement.
It is ambigous, isn't it ?
    My question is simple :
Does somebody already use Sender JDBC Adapter with Stored procedure as Select statement including many steps :
    - update actions on database
    - select query to return data to XI adapter
(Update statement stay empty or with value <TEST>.
To provide more information, I have a reference table to read. But this reference table must be updated by a stored procedure before being able to be read accordingly.
So As I can't do both process with Sender Adapter (call a procedure and execute a select statement) => I want to include both actions (updates and select) in an alone stored procedure.
Could I get wanted data as a resultset ?

    Hi,
    >><i>Update statement stay empty or with value <TEST>.</i>
It should be <TEST> if you do not want an Update to happen.
Regarding Sender JDBC adapter with stored procedures, which DB are you trying to access. Sender JDBC adapter does not support Oracle Stored Procedures as they return Cursors and Sender JDBC adapter can deal with only Resultset.
As for executing both Update and Select in the SP, though I havent tried, this should surely be possible.

  • Error in configuring JDBC Adapter

    Hi All,
I have configured a sender JDBC Adapter with the following parameters.
    JDBC Drivers: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB
But in Runtime, I am getting error as follows...
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB' using the JDBC driver 'com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB': SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]The requested instance is either invalid or not running.'
It has been confirmed that JDBC Drivers are properly deployed.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue?
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi Pavan,
I think Port is missing and also it should be look like this. (microsoft not required for SQL SERVER 2000).
Make sure msbase.jar, msutil.jar, mssqlserver.jar are the driver files and deployment.
    Connection: jdbc:sqlserver://MIS-SERVER\MIS_DEV_SVR<b>:PORT</b>;DatabaseName=SEPG_NEWDB

    Hi All,
I hav a scenario where i hav to call a Stored procedure. The stored procedure returns 3 result set objects (in other words, has 3 select statements). I had configured a JDBC Sender adapter which contains the Execute statement of the Stored Procedure. When i run this scenario, i'm not getting anything displayed on the SXMB_MONI. the adapter is in green color in the Adapter monitor. Can any one help me out in this regard?

    Anil,
Did you check your Data Type is created correctly ?
And check the link, I have provided.
And first try to retrieve the 1 resultset. And check is it coming to XI.
Also check in the RWB->Message Monitoring->Select the Criteria->Audit Log.... You can check is there any error..

  • Jdbc adapter: DeliveryException error

    Hello
I have the following synchronous scenario: RFC <-> JDBC Adapter.
The RFC is executed many times in a job and 99% of them works well, but some of them I receive the error:
Returning synchronous error notification to calling application: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: XIAdapterFramework:GENERAL:com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException.
    Can anyone help me ?
    Thanks
    Vitor Zaninotto

You are getting error whenever there is a connection refresh between SAP R/3 and XI. you can resolve it by following way.
Actually the RFC sender channel will try to reconnect to the SAP Gateway. If this reconnect fails, the next reconnect attempt is made after a waiting period of 1 second. If the next reconnect fails also, the waiting period is doubled and so on. This will lead to a reconnect timing of 1, 2, 4, 8, ..., 3600 seconds. Saving recources is the aim of this technique.
Once the maximum time is reached, the RFC channel does not stop connecting. It continues to try connecting indefinitely. The waiting period is a constant interval of the maximum time that is set, i.e. after every 3600ms.
If not configured, the maximum waiting time is defined in the middleware layer of SAP JCO, which is 3600 seconds. But this maximum time can be configured for each RFC sender channel in the XI Integration Directory. Open the Advanced Mode for the RFC Server Parameter.
Before SP 12: Add a line to the table and use 'jco.server.max_startup_delay' as name and the maximum number of seconds to wait between reconnect attempts as value.
Since SP 12: Enter the maximum number of seconds to wait between reconnect attempts in the field Maximum Reconnect Delay.

  • Synchronous JDBC adapter(receiver side) with stored procedure

    Hi experts,
Can some database processing logic be included in receiver JDBC (synchronous) adapter...to put it simply
I have synchronous JDBC adapter in the receiver side..Using this JDBC adapter I want to get some response back from the table..
The requirement is not a simple fetch from the table..It involves some processing in the database side which I guess will be done by stored procedure..After this database processing , this output will be picked up by the JDBC adapter and will send to PI.
How can this be achived ..Any Blog..
    Thanks

Yes u can use stroed procedure and send back the response,
