Syncing iPhone to iPad?

Can you sync your iPhone to iTunes via your iPad?  I can't get my iPhone to show up on iTunes via the iPad?

I still don't quite understand what you are saying and frankly, the text speak makes it even more difficult to interpret.
You cannot connect the phone to the iPad. You cannot connect your phone to iTunes by using the iPad.
If you want to get rid of apps on the Phone......
Delete them if you don't want them any more. Tap and hold down on the app icons until they wiggle then tap the X that appears on the icons. Tap the home button when you are done.
If you want to keep the apps and the app data you can store them and the data in iTunes via>File> Transfer Purchases, while the phone is connected to iTunes via the cable. Then backup the phone in order to save the data, and you can delete the apps off of the phone while still retaining your apps and the data.
Maybe you will find these to be of some help.

You cannot sync an iPhone to an iPad. While you can share or sync some content, there are only selected items that can be done. Your statement is lacking in detail so it is difficult to understand exactly what you are trying to do. It seems as though you want to put your messages and pictures on both devices via Wi-Fi? With Continuity, you can share messages, and pictures could be shared via Photo Stream.

  • Syncing iPhone and iPad with iTunes

I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2 which I sync to the same iTunes on my home PC. Every time I connect my iPhone to my iTunes, it invariably gets synced with whatever apps, music, movies and books which I synced to my iPad 2.   How do I configure my iTunes in such a way that I sync different sets of apps, movies, music, etc. to both my iPhone and iPad? Thank you.

  • Syncing iPhone and iPad with Mac Book Pro

Is it possible to sync my iPhone and iPad to my Mac Book Pro and have the same screens and apps? I see where all apps appear in my iPad syncing window, but I cannot make it exactly like my iPhone... Is this possible? Thank you!

    Hi Kristi,
Connect your iPad and your iPhone to your MBPro. Launch iTunes. Under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window you can select either device then select Apps from the menu.
You can drag home screens and rearrange apps right from that window. Very smart idea on your part to do that. That way it's the same (or close to) on both devices.

  • IBook Bookmarks don't sync iPhone to ipad

I've read all I can in the communities and online and followed all instructions but my iBook bookmarks still won't sync between my iPad mini with retina and my iPhone 4.
All settings match, with all sync options on.
    Please help?

Hi, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Which exact iBook model is it?
You can choose from this list:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/index-ibook.html
Which version of the operating system is it running now?
    How much RAM is installed?
What kind of optical drive does it have? (CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, Combo, or SuperDrive?)
(Sometimes these older model Macs simply won't work with the newer gear.)

  • How to sync iPhone to iPad games etc.

Does any one knowhow to sync for exemple angry birds from my iPhone to iPad? So i can play The same levels?
So when i quit on my iPhone i can play furhter on my iPad?

Not quite, data is specific to each device.
Unless the game itself offers that kind of syncing functionality over their network, I don't believe you can do it. Check with the game developer.

  • Spinning wheel in Photos tab when syncing iPhone or iPad with iTunes

I can't be certain when this started, but when I attempt to sync both my iPad and iPhone photos through iTunes, I'm not presented with any options, just a spinning wheel that never finishes loading. I've looked in multiple discussions with similar problems but none of the solutions seem to help. So far, I've tried:
    Different USB cable.
Creating new "dummy" libraries in both Aperture and iPhoto (local disks, not on network disks).
    Rebooting
    Restarting devices
    Permissions repair
Repairing permissions in the Aperture library
    Rebulidng the iPhoto database.
Deleting the iPod Photo Cache inside the Aperture library (which doesn't seem to get rebuilt)
Updating the software.I was using 10.9.2 and 11.1.5 iTunes, but upgrading using the Mavericks public beta hoping that would fix it. It did not.
In iTunes, going to File-->Home Sharing-->Choose Photos to share with AppleTV brings up the same spinning wheel.
Deleting all kinds of preferences, com.apple.itunes, etc.
Oddly enough, my wife's user account which has its own iPad and iPhone synced with its own iPhoto library is doing the exact same thing.
I've spent hours on this and have no idea what else to do. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

I think I fixed it thanks to the answers here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/10331322?messageID=10331322#10331322?messa geID=10331322
It involves reloading the iLifeMediaBrowser from the Mavericks installer.

  • ICloud syncing iPhones and iPad but not to iCloud nor my Mac

I have two iPhones, an iPad and two MacBooks. iCloud is used for syncing the content. This all works ok, except for the Address book. Address book content is synced only between the iDevices but neither to the iCloud Web-Portal nor to my Macs. This is very puzzling because I thought all the synchronization is done through iCloud, so how can the iCloud Portal and my Macs be left out. Especially given the fact, that the calendar sync works perfectly.
Here's what I did to verify:
    - create a new address record named "test iPhone" on my iPhone. The record shows up on my iPad, but not in the web and not on my Macs
    - create a new address record named "test iPad" on my iPad. The record show up on my iPhone, but not on the web and not on my Macs.
    - create a new address record named "test Mac" on my Mac. The record shows up in the web and on my iDevices
    - create a new address record named "test Web" via iCloud web interface. The record shows up on my Macs, but not on the iDevices
    any ideas?

You can have each individual service turned on or off, so while you may not be using 2 iCloud accounts, it is perfectly possible to use 2 accounts and get exactly the results you are getting.
Why don't you look to see if you are using 2 accounts, you could check settings > mail, contacts and calendars on your phone and iPad or just look at the contacts app.

  • HT4236 Photos duplicate and triplicate on syncing iPhone or iPad

For some reason I have duplicate and triplicate images of the same photo on my iPhone and iPad after syncing with iTunes. I have tried deleting them by syncing and removing the photos check box and then starting over with a new sync, but they are still there.

Thanks Jim .... do you think rsync running by cron would do it?  Then also, would it create problems overwriting files that are used in the management of the content if both computers are using iTunes at the same time?
That was my next thought, well, even if I was not going to be able to do this I still want to sync all the data on both systems ... then I have an additional backup as well.
    Thanks.
By the way, it is my portable devices, iPhone and iPad that I want to sync, you got that I think.

  • IPhoto folders not in iTunes when syncing iPhone or iPad

After de latent updates of Mountain Lion. iTunes and ios6. I can only choose all photo's on my iPhone or iPad and
the folder selection is grayed out. Also they tricks ( delete music from photoslideshows did not help) .
Another Thing not working anymore is that video from taken from iPhone or iPad is not 'tagged' anymore als film.
So creation of smartfolders is again à manual Thing.

My issue was resolved by deleting the sync services folder as discussed here: updated itunes 11.2 crashes after opening

  • Itunes stuck on processing file and won't sync iPhone or iPad when connected.

I updated to Lion last week and ever since I did that I can't download new apps to itunes or sync my iphone or ipad. It freezes everytime. Everything is up to date. I can't download new apps to itunes. I can download to the phone and the ipad but can't even synch those to my phone. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

I've been having the same problem.... I forced iTunes to quit when it got hung up on one or two downloads, and then when I relaunched, they were gone from my "Purchased" list.  I've tired going back to the iTunes store to re-download the files, but the button says "Purchased" and is grayed out... while the other music files that did download successfully say "Play".  I've tried the "Check for Available Downloads" option in iTunes, but it says that all of my purchases have been downloaded.
I have about 10-12 songs that did not process completely, do not show up in my "Purchased" screen, and cannot now be downloaded again.  Any ideas about how to fix this?  Everything was working fine up until 2 days ago.  I've never had a problem like this before.  I"m running iTunes 11.1.3 on OS 10.6.8. Thanks.

  • Syncing iPhone with ipad

How can I sync my iPhone contacts and iPhone calendar with my iPad. I transferred all my apps but not actual info.

    GuitarGuyDale wrote:
That was a fast response! As you can see I’m new to the whole forum thing. I appreciate the quick reply.
You are very welcome - short and 'to the point' questions are much easier to handle.
I was never comfortable with uploading all my information to a server that I don’t know who monitors and can't tell if my information was being tampered with (I'm a little OCD when it comes to storing my information locally)
Thats okay - its a personal choice. But do remember to backup regularly as we have hordes of people here every week having lost the lot due to lack of backups.
For example purposes, say I'm outside of internet connection. I use my iPad to write some calendar updates, edit some contact info and then want to upload those to my iPhone. Since I only have the WIFI version, I would have to find a WIFI connection if I were to use the MobileMe option.
Correct. However you could do all of that on your phone as well.
But if a Bluetooth option existed, where I could pair the iPhone and iPad, then I could transfer the files locally, without an internet connection.
Correct but it will never happen IMO - the Bluetooth connection is capable of 'misuse' and so Apple will not permit file transfer. there is however an App which allows people to 'bump' phones and swap contact cards so maybe you could use that for some scenarios.
It would also be helpful if the Calendar app on the iPad allowed you to send calendar appointments via email.
It does for Exchange calendars already however there appear to be some issues about having a common standard across all Calendar applications. I do not know for certain but I suspect that the most common Meeting Invite, from Outlook may be a proprietary format and thats why it only works with Exchange - but thats just a guess .

  • Cannot sync iphone or ipad with Lion

I upgraded to Lion today and it went fine on my Mac.  I then did a sync with my iPhone and iPad.  Nothing!  I tried a second time.  Again nothing!  I went into the app store to update my apps on the iPad and got this message, "This App is incompatible with this iPad."  What do I do now?

Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and all components as directed in here.?
