Syntax and subtype

What is the different between "binary syntax" and "binary subtype" ?
Can someone tell me about this basic concept ?
I've configured "client certificate authentication". In the schema, "userCertificate" has "binary syntax (2.5.4.40)", but if you just enter plain without "binary subtype", the authentication doesn't work.
This is work, if you enter in "ldapmodify" :
userCertificate;binary: < file:/// ......
This isn't work
userCertificate: < file:///....

Binary syntax was underspecified. This is why it's been removed from the new LDAPv3 specifications (RFC 4510-4522).
RFC 4517 says:
The Binary syntax has been removed because it was not adequately
specified, implementations with different incompatible
interpretations exist, and it was confused with the ;binary
transfer encoding.
The ;binary transfer option is an LDAP artifact to cope with the fact that LDAP community wanted to treat certificates as blob and not as complex structured encoded data (a Certificate has an ASN.1 description, a DER encoding and X.500 refers it by the complete syntax).
When adding or retrieving userCertificates from an LDAP server with LDAPv3, the client application must use the ;binary transfer option to indicate to the server that the encoded value of the userCertificate attribute is considered as a blob.
It is a protocol violation to use userCertificate without the ;binary transfer option with LDAPv3.
Also, as Sun developers fully understood all of the issues with the binary vs ;binary option there has been some changes in the way Directory Server stores the attributes that had this binary syntax... The latest available version (5.2patch4) has a consistent behavior and a few flags for backward compatible behaviors.

and subtype voluntary tax std is MVT1 as per SAP
if you maintain 0.01 value here and indicating the month

Window > results > validation = gives a partial mistakes (e.g. shows an open tag without closing tag, but doesn’t show a closing tag without an open tag).

Infotypes and subtypes ESS WebDynpro

Hi,
How to find which infotype(and subtype) the specific ESS WebDynpro is storing(retrieving) information from?? There is not much information on ESS Business package or help.sap.com. There is not much on Service market place also....
I am also looking for information on all the WebDynpros of ESS Business Package.

Nothing misleading as far as I'm aware in that.I find the whole discussion about ANSI and Oracle's supposed non-compliance, reads like it was Oracle's choice to deviate from the standards, when it was ANSI's bullheaded decisions to pointlessly change standards that left Oracle and other vendors out of compliance, and that was a decision made solely by ANSI.
This is probably the reason ANSI no longer produces SQL standards, the endless syntax fiddling would eventually have made forward left under outer joins a reality.

I have just installed Oracle 11g patchset to upgrade from 11.1.0.6 to 11.1.0.7.
Oracle documentation states, that since 11.1.0.7 Curly brace syntax is allowed (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28397/sdo_rdf_concepts.htm#CIHHDGDI).
When I try to execute following SQL on sample family RDF data, I got an error. Is realy curly brace syntax and OPTIONAL feature enabled in 11.1.0.7?

I am getthing this error while I tried to pass the value from an oracle package to the web when the the crystal report viewer kicks in.
I found the source of the error. Its just a paranthesis that I used with the phone number inside the function.... The function looks like this

return varchar2
is
begin
return '(123) 456 - 789';
end phone_number;
I really dont want that paranthesis to go. Its the format that everyone wanted. But they dont want that to be static on the report also

Many thanks for putting me on the right track...
Here's where I went wrong and how I fixed it.
First I installed the Azure Pack: MySQL Extension on the MySQL server.
This was wrong, it needs to be installed on the WAP server/s.
So I installed the extension on the WAP server and it still didn't work.
So I uninstalled the extension from the MySQL server and it still didn't work.
So I also installed the MySQL Connector/Net on the WAP server and it worked.
This eventually fixed it.
What I will say is that in the documentation it doesn't mention installing the MySQL Connector/Net from the web platform installer on the WAP server (unless I have completely missed this)?

Loosing preset for Entity and Subtype generation

I can change the two options in
Entitiy Properties->Subtypes->Entitiy and subtypes generation preset
and the change has some kind of effect. But when I save and reopen the model the changes are lost. And during the next engineering some strange things happen.
Is this a bug in my model or a bug in the modeler?

Same as any other language.
Example:
String moniker = "youbin1";
The syntax is roughly <type definition> <variable name> <assignment> <value>
The semantics is "Define a variable of the type supplied and name supplied, and give it the supplied initial value".

Problem with syntaxes and structures in unicode

1. i have a problem with syntax
this is old syntaxes
TRANSLATE c ...FROM CODE PAGE g1 ... TO CODE PAGE g2
new systems should use this class instead of above
CL_ABAP_CONV_IN_CE
it reads data from a container and converts it to the system format.
my old syntax is TRANSLATE header-id FROM CODE PAGE file_tab-codepage.
i need to change to new one by using above class how to do it
2. I have a structure are_buffer and i am working on upgrade of a old report , i have used a sap predefined structure callled arc_buffer from se11, now when i am using offset in one of the perform statement like

CHANGING arc_buffer(record_len)
error_handling
p_message.
but the system throws a error called ''the structure arc_buffer(record_length) does not start with character-type field''.
i cannot change the structure becoz its sap standard structure .
