SYSADM in FSCM9.1
Hi,
to create an Oracle DB for Peoplesoft I use the scripts in PS_HOME/scripts/nt specially first psroles and then psadmin to create SYSADM.
In other versions no probleme and SYSADM can see V$instance. But now in FCSM9.1 :
SQL> select * from v$instance;
select * from v$instance
Error
ORA-00942 table or view does not exist
SQL> show user
USER is "SYSADM"Of cours I can give more grant and .... but why this problem after standard scripts ?
Thank for ideas.
I don't think it's application version dependent, but rather on database level, the roles granted to SYSADM or through the PSADMIN role (which itself is granted to SYSADM).
It could come from the Oracle database version (before 11g or after) which may have more restrictive roles and/or privileges compared to previous version, from the top of my head like EXP_FULL_DATABASE and RESOURCE have been modified.
Lastly, it could also come from initial setting i.e. O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY which may restict sys objects access depending of the value, regardless granted roles :
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25513/initparams156.htm#REFRN10133
Moreover, if I'm not wrong, up to Peopletools 8.48, Peoplesoft recommanded to set this parameter to true, then from 8.49 onwards, to false.
Nicolas.

FSCM9.2 on PT 8.53
Hello All,
I did a fresh installation of FSCM9.2 database on PT 8.53 . My installation details are below.
O/s Windows 7 64 bit
DB : Oracle 11g enterprise edition 32 bit
Tools : PT8.53
Application FSCM9.2
Tuxedo : 11gR1_VS2010
Weblogic 10.3.6
I have sucesffully populated PS tables thru datamover using SYSADM and able to log in using VP1 in application designer as well. Iam facing while trying to boot the application server using VP1 as user id and password . Same happens with PRCS as well. No issues in configuring weblogic and booting webserver. Iam able to see the log on screen.
Attached the log files for your reference from tux log and appsrv.log. No content in stderr and stdout files.

Help is Appreciated.
Thanks,
Bala32 bit databases are not supported.
Windows 7 is also not a supported platform for the server component (though many on the forums here have it working)
PT 8.53 on windows is now 64 bit and requires the 64 bit drivers. The development tools (Data Mover and App Designer) are still 32 bit and require the 32 bit drivers which is why they worked.
I recommend installing the 64 bit database server and rebuilding or using datapump to migrate the database. You will still need both sets of drivers if you are running this all from one machine. You could possibly get it working by installing just the 64 bit client, but again, I recommend getting as close to the supported config as possible to avoid any other problems. -
About the template FSCM9.1 FP2 Peopletools 8.52.03 (v4 - July 2012)
Hello,
Just tested quickly this new template delivered 2 months ago (July 2012).
As far as I undestand, it is just a recut of the one delivered in April 2012. At least it solves the main issue I reported in that other About the template FSCM9.1 FP2 Peopletools 8.52.03 (v3) about the network prompt missing.
But I still have remarks/issues on the template FSCM9.1 FP2 Peopletools 8.52.03 (v4) released earlier in July 2012.
_1. First of all, there a lot of errors reported in /var/log/messages_

...Well, I don't know if it triggers others problems yet, but the last line could reveale an error within the /etc/hosts file which has not been properly modified during deployment (especially IPV6, it probably should be removed) :
[root@psovmfscmfp2 /]# more /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

192.168.1.150 psovmfscmfp2.phoenix.nga psovmfscmfp2
[root@psovmfscmfp2 /]#_2. Now about the COBOL_
Despite I choosed to install Microfocus, COBOL does not work. Sample COBOL processes such as PTPDBTST and PTPDTTST finished in error.
The log is empty, here below the output from the file $PS_CFG_HOME/psft/pt/8.52/appserv/prcs/PRCSDOM/LOGS/stdout (psadm2) :
=================================Error===============================
Message: Process 10899 is marked 'Initiated' or 'Processing' but can not detect status of PID
Process Name: PTPDBTST
Process Type: COBOL SQL
Session Id: 9313
=====================================================================
OprId = VP1Note that I successfully tested AEs and SQRs.
Here is the command line fired that I can see from the process monitor > parameter (nga is being my run control id) :
PSRUN PTPDBTST ORACLE/F91TMPLT/VP1/OPRPSWD/nga/10899//0 I used the following trace setting on the PTPDBTST's process parameter (override) to see what happens :
%%DBTYPE%%/%%DBNAME%%/%%OPRID%%/%%OPRPSWD%%/%%RUNCNTLID%%/%%INSTANCE%%//%%DBFLAG%%But it does not generate more logs...
I also use "RCCBL Redirect =1" in psappsrv.cfg (reconfigure and restart appdom), then start the COBOL through menu PeopleTools > Utilities > Debug > PeopleTools Test Utilities, and run a "Remote Call Test".
I received "COBOL Program PTPNTEST aborted (2,-1) FUNCLIB_UTIL.RC_TEST_PB.FieldChange PCPC:2143 Statement:26", but it generated two empty files (PTPNTEST_VP1_0913064910.out and PTPNTEST_VP1_0913064910.err).
Next step, checking the folder $PS_HOME/cblbin, it is...er... empty... does this mean COBOL have not been compiled ? Hmmm, I'm pretty sure I replied 'yes' when it was prompted though (still have the screenshots)...
And we can see several folders dated from today and license seems ok from Microfocus directories :

[psadm2@psovmfscmfp2 PRCSDOM]$The directory "/opt/oracle/psft/pt/apptools/cblbin" is owned by psadm3 and hosted on the database server (nfs mounted), so I assume we also need to set proper values for env variables, and compile the COBOLs before being able to use them.
To resume what I did to make the COBOLs working on this PSOVM :
1. As root, start LMF (this has to be done only once)
cd /opt/oracle/psft/pt/cobol/microfocus
./mflmman
2. As psadm1, set proper env. variable and compile (setting env variable has to be done each time you want to compile COBOLs)
export COBDIR=/opt/oracle/psft/pt/cobol/svrexp-51_wp4-64bit
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$COBDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export PATH=$COBDIR/bin:$PATH
cd $PS_HOME/setup
./pscbl.mak
./psrun.mak
3. As psadm2, set proper env. variable and reconfigure psprcs.cfg, restart, restart (setting env variable has to be done each time you want to start the process scheduler, so probably better to append these in the .bash_profile)
export COBDIR=/opt/oracle/psft/pt/cobol/svrexp-51_wp4-64bit
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$COBDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export PATH=$COBDIR/bin:$PATH
cd $PS_HOME/appserv
./psadmin
4. Same as step 2, but with user psadm3.
HTH,
Nicolas.
PS: will it be the same issue on the HCM template delivered at the same time ? To be tested as well.
PS2: and yes, I tested it twice before posting, result is same.
Edited by: N Gasparotto on Sep 13, 2012 5:17 PMFortunately, the COBOL issue does not exist on PSOVM HCM9.1 FP2 PT8.52.06 delivered in July 2012 (v3). COBOL are properly compiled (tools and app COBOLs), cblbin is not empty and they run successfully on the first shot.

How and where can i do a "User GRANT to SYSADM,SYSCTRL,.." ?
Hello all,
the first time we installed a new SAP-System with sapinst on DB2/LUW V9.
SAP works. (As yet we "drove" DB2 only on z/os)
SAP Created four db2 User : DB2<SID>, <SID>ADM, SAP<SID> and SAP<SID>DB!
They all have no "Grant" privilege?
How and where can i do a User grant to SYSADM,SYSCTRL,.. ,
there's no admin?
Thanks a lot!
MarkusHi Markus,
in addition to explicit GRANTs DB2 LUW has the concept of privileges.
db2<dbsid> is instance owner and part of the SYSADM group db<dbsid>adm.
<sapsid>adm is part of the SYSCTRL group db<dbsid>ctl.
sap<sapsid> is part of the SYSMAINT group db<dbsid>mnt.
In addtion to that <sapsid>adm is DBADM. This right is explicitly granted during the installation with SAPInst.
The relationship between OS group and privilege is controlled by the database manager configuration parameters SYSADM, SYSCTRL and SYSMAINT.
The rights of these privileges are described in the DB2 documentation.

Dear Team,
We are trying to integrate between Finance 9 with PT 8.48 to CRM9 with PT 8.49 using Integration Broker. We followed the following steps
1. Configured the "LOCAL" Gateway which was successfully pinging in both the instances finance9 and crm9 and the domain status is active in both the
instances. We are using "PSFTTARGET co"nnector
2. Configured the default local node PSFT_EP in FSCM9 and PSFT_CR in CRM9 instances and successfully pinging the node.
3. For remote node, we are using PSFT_CR node in FSCM9 portal and PSFT_EP in CRM9 portal which are failing to ping.
4. Defined custom Message,custom queue, custom Services, custom Service operations, custom routing in FSCM9 portal.
5. We defined custom fields, custom records, custom pages, custom components, custom menu and successfully registed with the portal with Public access
in FSCM9 portal.
6. Now we are trying to add new values or add new record in the newly customized page in FSCM9 and trying to get the same record values in CRM9 database
using Integration broker with above integration configuration.
Can you please help with appropriate screenshots for the integrations between FSCM9 and CRM9
Require Screenshots for
1. How to configure the remote nodes.
2. How to configure Routings
3. How to configure Queue
4. How to assign custom message into custom message channel
5. What to configure in the PSAAPSRV.cfg and PSAAPSRV.ubx ?
6. What are the configurations required in "Main Menu > PeopleTools >Integration Broker > Configuration > Service configuration"Hi,
Pls ensure you have the following in place...
1. All nodes being used for Integration should be defined on the Single Sign On Page in both the env's.
2. The passwords on all the 4 nodes should be same.
3. The external Alias of the Sv Ops in question should be identical.
4. Ensure that the User ID's initiating the request should be defined in the Target env along with access to that Sv Op and have the PeopleSoft User role.
What is the error message you are getting when you try pinging the nodes?
Also, the Sv Ops should be granted access preferably to the PL that the Role PeopleSoft User uses (PTPT1000). In case you have custom security in place then kindly refer to your security matrix to identify the correct PL...
Would also like to point out that in most of the Async Integrations its advisable to use existing queues, unless you have very specific purpose to use your custom queue.
Thanks!

Suggested schedule for gather statistics on sysadm
We have recently upgraded to 11.1.0.7 with psoft version 9.0 and tools 8.49 on sun solaris version 10. Currently we are running stats every night on all non work sysadm tables. I'm wondering if this is too much. We are seeing sql statements use different explain plans. For ex: one sql takes plan A and finishes in expected time. At some other point during the week that same sql will take plan B and will either never finish or take way too long.
So I'm curious to see how other folks are handling their statistics.
Other items of note:
we disabled the nightly oracle statistics job
our database is about 200 GB of used space
In any feedback is much appreciated.Welcome to the forum!
Whenever you post provide your 4 digit Oracle version (result of SELECT * FROM V$VERSION)
>
For example there is a table T1 with 25GB size (3 crores rows) and partitioned when i try generating statistics for a T1 table with below command it takes lots of time and i dont know what is the progress.
>
Your command will generate statistics for the entire table; that is, ALL partitions. Is that what you intended?
Sometimes partitioned tables have historical data in older partitions and a small number of ACTIVE partitions where the amount of data changes substantially. You could collect stats only on the partitions that have large data changes. The older, static partitions may not need frequent stat collections since the amount of data that changes is small.
If you are using 11g you could collect incremental statistics instead of global stats. Here is an article by Maria Colgan, an Oracle developer on the Optimizer team on stats.

DB2 Indirect SYSADM Authority = NO
Hi,
Please let us know how can we change DB2 Indirect SYSADM Authority = YES. Currently its NO.
We are not being able to connect to SAP through R3trans -d because of this issue. Although when we boot the system first time we be able to connect through R3trans -d but in second attempt fails.
Please advice how to change the above value to '=YES'
Best Regards
JagYou can also check to ensure that the userid/password is set for the SAP connect user and <sid>adm user. You can verify this by viewing the dscdb6.conf file located at /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/dscdb6.conf. You should see the two (or more) user ids and a alphanumeric string (which is the encrypted password). You can then verify that your passwords are set correctly by running R3trans -d as the <sid>adm user. If this works correctly, then try stopping and restarting the SAP and database instance as user <sid>adm and let us know if you get an error.
If the password is NOT set correctly (R3trans -d returns a non-zero return code), then you will have to set the password by running dscdb6up as user <sid>adm. You can lookup the runtime information for dscdb6up by running dscdb6up -h
Hope this helps.

I want to de-install mac-excel test version and get the error message: 'You have not the privileges to de-install. Please login with the Mac-OS account you have installed mac-excel originally'. I don't know this account anymore. Possibly it does not exist anymore. anybody out there who can help ?
Hi, I may suggest to activate the root account and try the uninstall process from that account. To do so, you have to:
Go to System Preferences a open up the Users pane;
On the left side of the pane, you shuold see Login Options;
Enabled editing option clicking on the lock (it will ask your password);
Once the pane is enabled, you should see something like Server Account Network (sorry my OS is in italian, so I don't exactly know the right translation), and right next to it a button;
Click on that button, and a new pane shows up. Click on Open Directory Utility, and on the upper bar of OS X click on Edit;
Select Enable Root Account (you can set a password, or not);
Done that, you should log out and when the login window show up, type on the user field "root" and the password you choose;
Theorically, from this account you will be able to unistall the application.
After completing your task, I reccomend you to disable the root account, just by loggin in your personal account and repeating the steps I described before. Hope it helps -
FSCM9.0: Compiling COBOL Issue
Folks,
Hello. I am working on FSCM 9.0 General Ledger module to post Journal entries. I compiled COBOL using this command:
c:\PS_HOME\setup>cblbld c: \temp\compile unicode
The above command is supposed to copy all of source code from "PS_HOME\src\cbl" to "PS_HOME\temp\compile" and then create directory "PS_HOME\cblbinu". But the following message comes up:
"Windows cannot open this file unicode.cfg. To open this file, Windows need to know what program created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically. Or you manually select from a list of program on your computer."
I select WordPad to open unicode.cfg and there is only one line in this file that is "[Unicode] Unicode=1".
After that, an error message comes up:"Unicode COBOL compilation proceeding. Logging progress to file c:\temp\compile\CBLBLD.LOG. \temp\compile was unexpected at this time "
Do any folks understand how to fix the above problem ? Exact procedure to compile COBOL for FSCM 9.0 in Windows ?
Thanks.Please refer to the PeopleTools installation guide for the variables required and compile instructions. Also make sure that you use double quotes (") around the directory names when compiling via a DOS box. When the directory path has spaces you need to double quote the path (ie. "c:\program files\microfocus\").

- not using bind variables anywhere, resulting in excessive statement parsing. All of your statements have hardcoded literals, and many of those statements are identical except for the hardcoded literals.
Due to the hardcoded literals for Oracle they are different, and will be reparsed.
- excessive full table scans : 48 percent of the wait time is db file scattered read which means full table scan.
Time to tune your statements.

Missing or invalid version of SQL library PSORA (200,0)
I am trying to configure App. Server on Vista laptop machine.
The machine name is VRGhati03.
It is a logical 3 tier archtecture. Its a EPM 9.0 Install. My database (PFDMO) is all configured and I am able to signon using a User ID VP1 and password VP1. My connect id is people with password of peop1e.
My access id is SYSADM.
I have created a user id in Oracle as VP1 and granted him the PSADMIN role .
When I try to boot up the App. Server it tells me ' Missing or invalid version of SQL Library PSORA' and 'Could not sign on to database PFDMO with user VP1'
The VP1 sign on works via SQLPLUS.
I also created a User Account of VP1 and tried to boot the appserver under that id but still no success.
I have gone thru some of the postings on this topic but they have not helped me. What am I doing wrong?
Below are the details of the log files, portion of my psappserv.cng file and the system environment variables.
Can somebody help. Thanks in advance
Sudhir

Passing the database name as a PL/SQL procedure parameter
How do I pass the name of the database as a parameter to a procedure?
If dbs is the variable name to which I pass the database name as shown in the example,
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE Extract_gl_acct_Tbl(dbs varchar2)
and I use dbs in the code as follows,
SELECT ACCOUNT,
SETID
FROM SYSADM.PS_GL_ACCOUNT_TBL@dbs
It gives me an error saying 'ORA-04054: database link DBS does not exist'.You will need to use dynamic SQL to handle this:
create or replace ...
is
type rc is ref cursor;
v_rc rc;
begin
open v_rc for 'select ... from sysadm.ps_gl_account_tbl@' || dbs;
fetch v_rc into ... -- some variables
-- if multiple rows, you'll need to do the fetch in a loop and exit when v_rc%notfound.
close v_rc;
end; -
Cannot see table in sql developer or sql plus
I have created a record in application designer. I have then built the table. I can close the record and then find it again in application designer. But if I go to sql plus or sql developer, I cannot see it. Am I missing a step?
You probably can see all the tables of sysadm because someone else give you proper grant for that on existing sysadm's objects.
For the new or modified object (drop+create) you should :
1. connect as sysadm and run
grant select on new_table_name to your_own_user;2. connect with your own user and run
create synonym new_table_name for sysadm.new_table_name;Then you'll be able to query that table without using schema name alias.
Some admin have also a ddl trigger to make it automatically.
You could also work through a role and public synonym if more than one user needs to access sysadm's objects.

People Tools Table in SQL SERVER
Hi,
As we have PSDBOWNER table in Oracle or DB2 which helps us to change DB name after production refresh.
Like wise, i want to know list of People Tools Table in SQL SERVER which needs to change DB name from PRD TO TEST after refresh.
Rgds
PS AdminPeopleTools table will have the same name independent of Database you use.
PSDBOWNER table is the only table created on PS oracle database user. (This table will not present in the SYSADM schema.)
Thanks
