System Administrator Responsibility
Hi hussein/helios,
As an Apps Dba, I guess the most used responsibilty you choose in Oracle Apps is System Administrator.
What other responsibility does an Apps DBA be of interest in, aside from it?
Thanks a lot

Hi Msk;
As an Apps Dba, I guess the most used responsibilty you choose in Oracle Apps is System Administrator.
What other responsibility does an Apps DBA be of interest in, aside from it?As you mention in my company we use mostly System Administrator but many times in day we are using System Administration or some others too. It depends what you get request from client side(problem, request etc) so you can choose reponsibility via this request. For instance you can choose Workflow if you are doing something related wiht it.
By the way i suggest check Hussein Sawwan greatest post about similar topic:

Create User FND_USER_PKG.CreateUser
Disable user FND_USER_PKG.DisableUser
Update USer FND_USER_PKG.UpdateUser
Enable User FND_USER_PKG.EnableUser
Add Responsibility FND_USER_PKG.AddResp

SFM system administrator responsibility -Validation logic
Issue- We have invoke the Install base some data fix in validate logic of SFM Message CSISOSHP. And the standard program which is not getting fired 'Service Contracts Order Capture Integration',
The standard SFM logic is getting suppressed where the custom process logic added. It works fine when we execute the program ‘Service Contracts Order Capture Integration’ manually.
Kindly suggest how to get fire both validation logic functionality and the standard process together.
Thanks,
PadmaHi,
In R12 the concurrent program name is "Invoice Validation Program" and this concurrent program is available in R12.1.3. Short name of the concurrent program is "APPRVL". Please check whether this concurrent program is assigned to the request group or not. If not, please add and check. -
Hi Experts,
One of our students have excluded the responsibility define function and user define function from the "System Administrator" responsibility in our test instance, which resulted in disabling of responsibility creation and user creation form. Can anyone here explain how to resolve this issue??
Thanks.Your DBA should be able to help you..........

Hi All,
When I am trying to click on the 'iprocurement Home page' menu in the iprocurement responsibility getting the below error message in R12;
"iProcurement is not a valid responsibility for the current user. Please contact your System Administrator."
Can any one let me know how to resolve this?
Regards
JosephHi Joseph,
I am assuming that the user actually has the iProcurement responsibility assigned to them. If so, try the following solution from note 1560400.1:
1) Logon with System Administrator responsibility
2) Navigate to Profile > System, click on User and enter the user name
3) Search for profile 'Applications Start Page'. Delete the value set at user level and save
4) Retry

Add XML Publisher Administrator responsibility with EBS 11.5.9
Hi all !
I'm exploring the possibility to use XML Publisher inside Oracle E Business Suite 11.5.9. because...unfortunately it's not possible to upgrade EBS to the 11.5.10 version
I found a note on the forum which says: "Starting from 11.5.9 the XMLP is bundled with Apps. You just need to add XML Publisher Administrator responsibility to your profile, and install MS Word template builder on your PC".
So...my questions are:
1) how can I add the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility to my profile ? Should I set up something (already existing into EBS), or should I install a patch ?
2) how can I know the XML Publisher version bundled within Apps (if what is written inside that note it's true), 'cause I'd like to use the 5.6.3 version
Also, I looked for a solution on Metalink and the only note regarding how to use XML Publisher inside E Business Suite 11.5.9. is the note id 278727.1 (even I should install the 4.5 XML Publisher version - TOO OLD)
Thanks in advance
AlessandroHi Ravi thanks for you answer !
So....I tried to create the responsibility from scratch, because nothing is defined for XML Publisher, in this way (from the OA System Administrator):
Responsibility Name: XML Publisher Administration
Application: XML Publisher
Responsibility Key: XDO_ADMINISTRATION
.....but inside the Data Group area
Name : Standard
Application: ?
....and inside the Menu area which information should I write ?
Is there something to follow in order to create from scratch a XML responsibility ?
Thanks again

'Please enter a valid responsibility. The responsibility System Administrator does not exist or is not active. Check that the correct applicaton short name is specified for your responsibility'.
Please help..

What could have gone wrong? huhhuhu :( please help.

Hi guys,
I posted the same question with oracle.ittoolbox few days back and yet to get an answer. During the initial stages of implementation, I remember the consultants using a particular jsp/html page under System Administrator responsibility to view the status of diag, trace, log enabled status of the system, akka, if a profile option is enabled to debug, trace, or log was listed...
Now, I want to access the same page (I have system administrator resp). The SQL query provided by metalink is too complex to understand
Please helpHello again Hussein and others
Our issue was NOT just with FND% profiles, rather with the consultants turning on diag and debug against their respective modules and later forgetting to turn them off. Take our case, we had SLA Debug enabled from last 2010 Feb until two days back, which has created 21 million rows of data with XLA diag table :)
Once after turning the SLA debug and truncating the table (following Oracle guidelines) we have a database which is 1/3 of the size until recent times. Oracle has provided us an SQL query which produces the present status of all profiles with latest values (enabled or disabled). We were able to see a number of profiles with debug enabled and successfully disabled them.
I represent the internal IT team and always have the acceptance for human errors like the SLA debug event. Oracle "apologized" for not having a screen or html form for monitoring such resource hungry activities. The output from the SQL script they provided is too complex for a person who doesn't have core techno functional knowledge about the system.
Anyway, finally feeling a bit better...
Thanks guys -
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR RESPONSIBILTY ISSUE
Hi,

Responsibility Justification / Reason
System Administration View ONLY Key Flex field setup
View ONLY Descript FF setup
View ONLY List of values
View ONLY Concurrent Requests
View ONLY Profile Options
View ONLY Responsibility & Users
ACCL Saudi HRMS Super User View ONLY Current Setup Screens Is it possible to create RO responsibility or in other way??
Thanks
Edited by: user11969485 on Jun 22, 2011 3:09 AMBut where can I collect all functions what I know there is a way that is go to menu of system administrator responsibility and perform for all functions with parameters “QUERY_ONLY=YES".” But this is very time taking process; do you have some other way where can I make it fast?No -- However, you could use FNDLOAD to download the menu with all the forms/functions, edit the ldt file and add "QUERY_ONLY=YES" parameter and upload it to a new menu. I have not tried this before myself and it would take the same time as the above but it is an alternative.
Thanks,

Responsibility not appearing for user after added from System Administrator
Hi,
I'm testing on R11510. After adding more responsibilities to a user from system administrator -> user -> define, logout and login to the user, the new responsibilities didn't show up. Anything I missed?
Thanks for your help.Hi,
Did you try to bounce Apache and see if it helps?
Please see the suggested solutions in the following threads.

System Administrator Read-Only responsibility.
Dear All
Is there a way that i can assign a Read-Only responsibilities of system administrator.
Thanks,Yes. It is possible to create a new responsibility 'System Administrator - View Only', which will have all the functions in Query only mode. To achieve this, Create a new customTop menu, consisting of sub-menus and functions. The functions should have the 'Parameters' field as 'QUERY_ONLY = "YES"'. Attach this top menu to the 'System Administrator - View Only' custom responsibility. This responsibility can then be assigned to the users, who will then only be able to query the records, not do any update.

Unable to Log in. Please see your System Administrator. Laptop chucks Spack
Hi all,
Got great responses from people in my first post recently, but before I managed to try any of them, my laptop chucked a spack attack.
It will start up, and get to the Log in Window, but when I type in my password (yes, it is the right one...) I get a message which says something like, 'There is a Problem logging in. Please see your System Administrator'. I can't remember the exact wording, but it is pretty much that.
Unfortunately, I am the System Administrator, and I'm using the only log in and password attached to the computer. So I've got no idea how to get into it. A friend suggested I start it up in target disk mode from another computer, but I've got Filevault turned on, so I suspect I'm going to have the same problem.
Recently installed an Apple security Update, but thats the only thing that has changed.
Any suggestions very welcome, as it has been about five days now.
Thanks,
JonathanHi Jonathan!
Have you tried resetting the Admin PW?
To reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X CD:
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc 1 CD and restart the computer.
2. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the spinning gear.
3. When the Installer appears, choose Installer > Reset Password.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the password.
5. Quit the Installer and restart your computer while holding down the mouse button to eject the CD.
Copied From Changing your administrator password
Good Luck!

We migrated a server (ldap and file serving) to some new machines, which have new names. We've got all of the login and file sharing functionality working on the new machines, but wherever we have a mount of a share in the Login Items for a user, we can't get the old machine out of the Login Items. It's not fatal, but it does make login take a lot longer because it has to fail first.
We can mount the share from the new server, and save THAT in a NEW Login Item just fine -- it's just that when you click on the old defunct one the minus sign is greyed out, and the mouseover says "You cannot change this item because it's managed by your system administrator." There is a yellow triangle next to the item in the list. Went into the user's ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems.plist and it's not in the file. The /Library/Preferences don't have anything that looks like a plist of the right name.
Where do I find it and how do I get rid of it?In response to ManishBhatt94's post today, I may have some information that may be useful to you. I called Microsoft's 800-642-7676 and spoke with a technical representative with questions pertaining to my particular issue. I also have friend that has the
same issue with her computer running windows 8. A representative from my ISP told me how to go into 1)Tools, 2)Internet Options, 3)Connections, 4)LAN settings and uncheck the proxy settings box. However after restarting or shutting down my computer it reappears.
It will also reappears while I play games on Facebook not allowing me continue until I go back into the proxy settings in LAN and uncheck the box AGAIN and AGAIN. A local owner of a computer repair shop told my friend that it was a virus. After speaking with
Microsoft today I was told the same thing/it was more than likely a virus on my personal PC at home. As most people likely do, I use wireless internet in my home on the affected computer. Solution; as suggested by Microsoft rep was to have the virus
professionally removed either by someone or to use their remote service for a fee of $149 which comes with several guarantees and does not require you to re-install software or documents. I hope that my response was of some help to you. I also kept trying
to fix this problem but wasted a lot of time. He also suggested to Google the proxy problem to see if ANYONE has any alternatives to fixing this problem!
