System File Checker errors "tsprint-datafile.dat"

I keep getting the sfc /scannow error referring to "tsprint-datafile.dat" file.
I don't have another Windows 7 system at the moment to copy a good file over.  Even if I do, I suppose this file could be system specific.
Below is the last section where the errors happened after running the command 'findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"' as instructed at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833#CBS%20log.

Hi healee,
Thank you for your update.
All of the components in the operating system are found in the WinSxS folder – in fact we call this location the component store.  Each component has a unique name that includes the version, language, and processor architecture that it was built for.
An INF file is a text file that contains all the information that device installation components used to install a driver. Windows installs drivers using INF files. This information includes the following:
a. Driver name and location
b. Driver version information
c. Registry information
For your reference:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff549520(v=vs.85).aspx
You may refer to the informations above to check what is the file for.
Based on my experience, it may related to print driver, you may consider to cantact the printer's manufacturer for insight.
Theoretically, the sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy that is located in a compressed folder at %WinDir%\System32\dllcache. The %WinDir% placeholder represents the Windows operating system
folder. There are a limited set of cached files, the rest must be manually replaced if they are corrupted or missing.  SFC probably will not fix the corrupted file due to there are updates in the process of installing. Those updates either need to complete
their installation or be uninstalled, or removed.
Hope it helps.

Blair Deng

  • System File Checker -Cannot fix corrupt files

    How practical do you consider the various measures to replace / resolve corrupt files are?
    My feeling is that the simplest solution is to do a repair install or clean install of the operating system. This would include where appropriate an In place Upgrade, restore to factory settings or to restore a system image.
    What do you think?
    Hope this helps, Gerry

    Hi Gerry,
    System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. OF course, this may not resolve all problem.
    Repair install, clean install, restore to factory etc have their own function on recovering the operating system. It depends on your exact issue.

  • Report file name error with Chinese Date format

    Hello,
    I am seeing an error at
    step Write UUT report in the standard model files.  This step is
    calling the API method save on the object Runstate.Report.
    The issue occurs on computers using chinese localization with the date in the report file name.
    Is this a known issue?  Is there a way to modify the filename before calling the above method to eliminate the problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    An Error Message is attached.
    WE have seen this on both Vista and XP.  We are using TestStand version 4.1.1.  I am not sure about the localization, but I have seen this on computers from Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
    If I put a breakpoint in the Model file at the Write UUT Report Step, you can see Chinese Characters in the time portion of the file name.
    If you change the report name to not include the time and date, the error does not occur.
    We have seen this with ASCII and xml.  With XML, the error also occurs at the step "Add Root Tags to XML Report"

  • FTP/File Adapter - Error parsing empty date field

    I have an FTP Adapter and I defined a native schema using the JDeveloper FTP Adapter wizard (CSV file). One of the fields is a date specified in this format: "M/d/yyy". I have defined the coresponding element in the schema as follows:
    *<xsd:element name="DOB" type="xsd:date" nxsd:dateFormat="M/d/yyyy" nxsd:style = "terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy="&quot;">*
    This seems to work correctly and read the date into an xml date variable. However if the date is empty, it just can't figure out what to do and throws an exception saying that it can't parse an empty field.
    Is there any attribute that I can add to indicate that the field should be ignored if empty or non-parseable?
    I know that I can get the data in as string and do the conversion myself later (which is not trivial either) but why complicate things. I can't believe that the creators of the FTP adapter did not accomodate for empty fields.
    Thanks, I appreciate any suggestions.
    BTW, I tried adding the "nillable=true" attribute but it didn't work either.
    Edited by: user10770892 on Jun 21, 2011 10:38 AM

    Yatan,
    If I change the nillable true and minoccurs properties, BPEL is not working.
    Is there any other way to handle blank lines ?
    Thanks

  • Directory for archiving files with errors

    HI ,
    My Scenario is file to RFC Asynch.
    when ever the PI picks file from the source directory that file need to delete from the path and need to be archived to some other patch.
    And if the file has wrong data it need to archive to error archive folder.
    For this I used  Archive processing in filesender adapter and I also used directory for archiving files with errors(for wrong data files).
    Now the files are arching successfully in the given archive folder for successful messages. But the error files (wrong data which are throwing mapping error in MONI) are also archiving in the same archive folder.
    But these error files need to archive in error archive folder.
    How can I achieve this?
    Thanks in Adv..

    you can use raja's logic ..........in addition in second receiver do a simple mapping UDF to delete the file from the SUCCESS folder. otherwise your file will be archived in both the folder success and errror

  • How can I repair Vista system files with only a Toshiba recovery disc??

    I have pretty much come to the conclusion that the reason I can't install Vista service pack 2 is due to some corrupt vista files. I ran the program that checks that system files and it said some are corrupt. There are some things I can't do, like turn on the Windows firewall even from that special adminostrar screen, or if I schedule a check disc scan, when I reschedule it for start up, it doesn't do it at startup. I had a Red Screen about a year ago, and it did a bunch of stuff and at the end, it said you had a major event and contact your administartor. Well, I am the administartor, lol. Anyway, it worked fine and I attribute these problems to that event.
    Vista discs come with a repair option. All I have is the Toshiba disc that lets you reinstall the Toshiba and Vendor applications OR reformat the hard drive. I am not going to spend days trying to get my system back to where it is by tracking down everything I have installed especially when its working. Is there a work around? I will buy a Vista Home Premium disc if I have to before refortmatting. I have an x205-S9349 with Vista Home Premium. THANKS!

  • Errors in sending data - maybe a bug

    Hi, everybody. I was trying o create a program with 2 scokets, lets say socket A and socketB. The principle of this program was whatever socketA receives is beeing send through socketb and vis versa. I had creted a routine for sendind data like that:
    public int SendData(String s){
    try{
         out.print(s); //this is a printwriter
    out.flush();
    }catch(Exception e){
    System.out.println("Error in sending data"+ e.toString());
    return -1;
    return 0;
    The strange thing was that, using a network sniffer I realised that sometimes my socket was sending characters that weren't in the string s, more precisly it was the character with hex value c2 . When I made the following modification the program worked correctly
    public int SendData(String s){
    try{
         for(int i=0;i <s.length() ;i++)
              out.write((int)(s.charAt(i))); //now out is an OututSream and not a PrintWriter
    }catch(Exception e){
    System.out.println("Error in sending data"+ e.toString());
    return -1;
    return 0;
    Maybe can anybody explain why was this happening? I am curious to hear your opinion!
    My java -version result is:
    java version "1.5.0-beta"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0-beta-b32c)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0-beta-b32c, mixed mode)

    I'm not sure what you need to do. If you want to send and receive binary data, read and write bytes (or there are other ways, e.g. DataOutputStream).
    If you want / need to send Unicode text, a PrintWriter / OutputStreamWriter and InputStreamReader will convert Unicode to & from e.g. utf-8. Or you can use String.getBytes() and new String(s, "utf-8") to convert:
    public class t
        public static void main(String args[])
            throws Exception
            String s = "ab\u00a2\03c0";
            System.out.println("string: " + s);
            byte bytes[] = s.getBytes("utf-8");
            System.out.println("bytes: " + toString(bytes));
            String decoded = new String(bytes, "utf-8");
            System.out.println("decoded: " + decoded);
        static String toString(byte b[])
            StringBuffer buf = new StringBuffer();
            for (int n = 0; n < b.length; n++) {
                if (n != 0)
                    buf.append(", ");
                buf.append(Integer.toHexString(b[n] & 0xff));
            return buf.toString();
    }I'd probably use String.getBytes() instead of PrintWriter; that allows mixing text and non-text data.
    Ok, quite possibly Unicode is overkill for you, and you'll be fine with the 8-bit subset. Depends on how "serious" your application is, and how likely it will need to process e.g. Cyrillic, Greek or Chinese text.
    For performance, you may want buffered streams and a StringBuffer instead of string concatenation to create strings.
