System supplied CFL's / B1DE

I want to use the BusinessPartner CFL to select a business partner however i want the user to be able to select
by name rather than business partner code .. I use B1DE to generate code and trap 'OnBeforeChooseFromList' event and filter what is displayed to the user in the way shown below ..

Code works in that records are correctly selected BUT when BusinessPartnerList is displayed the find field is populated with the text keyed by user but , by default, this is being applied to the CardCode field as a filter and
showing no records .. So, can i change the default selection field (or perhaps change the order - by program) of the fields displayed in the BusinessPartner CFL so that therecords are displayed correctly ? Also the CFL Object type ( ObjectType in ChooseFromListCreationParams) seems to suggest you can code 0 for UserDefinedObject - has anybody had any success with this ? I'm on 2007 PL 15 .. Thanks

The edittext has a property called ChooseFromListAlias. This property is the name of the field by which the BP will be searched, so setting it to 'CardName' would enabled the user to search BPs by their names.

Installing Full Retail Win 8 Pro on a Lenovo System supplied with Win 8 Standard/Core

If you are attempting to install a full retail (or similar) copy of Win 8 Pro on Lenovo system that came with standard Win 8 (also referred to as Win 8 Core) installed from the factory, you will run into an issue at install time.
By MS design default , full Win 8 Pro retail (etc) versions look for a key embedded in the BIOS (often referred to as an OA3 or OA3.0 key). If that key does not match the version of Win 8 you are trying to install, the install will fail without offering the option of entering the retail key that was supplied with your full retail (etc) Win 8 Pro.
Microsoft has issued a "FAST PUBLISH" support article on how to work around this design approach. See

Note that this workaround requires the creating and placing of a PID.txt file by methods which are not entirely described in the support article, so be prepared to do some more digging for all the relevant information.

I have a Lenovo H520g essential desktop, which came with Windows 8 SL pre-installed. I bought my Lenovo on August 8 2013 and as of the November 2013 the machine was updated to Windows 8.1 Single Language.
Today, April 14th 2014, I bought Windows 8.1 Pro on a full retail DVD from a local physical Microsoft reseller. I have successfully installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my H520g. The installation run smooothly, no problems at all.
The steps I took were as follows:
1) Checked the UEFI BIOS to see if the DVD drive were included on the boot list and set it as the first boot device.
2) Booted the computer with the Windows 8.1 pro DVD on the optical drive.
3) Entered the Windows 8.1 License Key that came on the retail DVD.
4) Erased all partitions from the HDD were Windows 8.1 SL were installed.
5) Proceeded normally with the installation
Yesterday I made a phone call to the Microsoft support and they assured me that on all computers that come with Windows 8 SL pre-installed, it is possible to install Windows 8.1 Pro. The conditions are: 1) you must install the full retail version of Windows 8.1 Pro, not the OEM version; 2) you must do a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro, not the install that preserves files and applications.

Installing Full Retail Win 8 Pro on a Lenovo System supplied with Win 8 Standard/Core

So I have a Thinkpad Twist that came with Windows 8, and I am trying to reinstall Windows 8 Pro on. I have a copy of Win 8 Pro OEM and I don't want to purchase the upgrade since I already have the full version. I would like to put this machine on a domain in my test lab, and only able to do that running Win 8 Pro.
So, I booted off a USB DVD and installed the OS, however once it was installed, I noticed it was still the standard Win 8. So I tried it again, with the same result. When I do the reinstall I am partitioning and formatting both drive on the Twist, so I'm not sure why it's reverting back to standard Win 8. Also when I install Win 8 Pro it never asks me for a key, so something is odd, and it's pulling that old standard Win 8 info from somewhere.
I went into the BIOS and noticed there are some security settings to avoid letting you install a new OS. So I disabled all of those, and tried the install again with the same result. I don't get it.
Does anyone know how to totally clean the disk(s) so that I can just do a clean install of Win 8 Pro? Or what settings I need to change in the BIOS to allow it to let me do a fresh install? I have been working on this for over 8 hours now.. starting to pull my hair out.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know any terminal app on iOS that can talk to a computer through the USB channel.
So there's no internet connection to the systems that you want to connect to? If there is a connection and you can use secure ssh then why not do that? I mean I ssh all the time into my server via my iPhone, iPad or Mac. I use VNC Viewer for my iOS devices and terminal via my MacBook Air.

Connecting to R/3 system from portal

Hi Everyone,
I am creating one R/3system object in portal(EP 7.0 SP10). i created the system, provided the required property values in following categories
1.Connector
2.WAS properties.
i created one transaction iview and assigned to access this newly defined or created system & supplied all property values for iview correctly( i have given system alias name property value correctly& also choosen SAPGUI for windows)
i ahve created one role & assign the iview to that role. & assigned the role to myself.
When i try to access the same system. It shows SAPGUI small window"WAITING IN PROGRESS" eror(message window) & system just hangs up. i have created the some other R/3 system few days back with the same way & it worked properly. I was able to get into that system without any problem. i have checked that system's properties with this one & i found no error or mistake.
I m just clueless now about this "WAITING IN PROGRESS" SAPGUI messsage/error. Can anybody help me about the same. I ahve created system based on "Connection to dedicated application server" template.
Plz guide me about the same.

Supplier Price Optimization

Hi:
We are at SPM 2.1 SP6 P4.
Looking at Supplier Price Optimization, which looks at optimization opportunity between multiple suppliers, how can we remove those item that has only single supplier?
(We need to use Source system Supplier instead of Supplier)
If we exclude the records using SPO amount to be zero, then we also remove the record for an itme that has multile supplies one of which can be showing a zero SPO amount and hence that is not desired result - so we cannot do it...
I thought of using Supplier Count but that cannot work since the SSys supplier is part of the report and hence it will always give 1 .
Any clue here?

You can try setting a filter on Supplier Price Optimization <> 0. However this will hide other rows also where they are multiple supplier also but none of them have and optimization potential.

Hello, I am trying to write a kernal mode driver for windows 8 platform. Basically I have an amd chipset and have determined that I would like to access a register with a certain offset from what amd labels acpimmioaddr base+offset. I have the offset
and now I believe to have found the base or acpimmioaddr which is fed9 0000 in hex. I have determined I need to write a kernal mode driver to do this. In the driver how would I write and read this address? Also a secondary question how would I export functionality
to either a user mode driver (dll) and ultimately an api?
Notes: I am trying to access memory mapped I/O.
I believe I have to use hal functions but am not sure if it is hal.dll or sys file. I think I need to map the needed system space to kernal mode virtual memory using MmMapIoSpace(). I believe I have read some wheres that this may have changed in more recent
versions of windows. If anyone can help I appreciate the time very much, thank you.

Thank you for responding. Not sure I understand first part about ACPI device. But basically I'm trying to access a gpio that is memory mapped io that will then have a device attatched to it. My understanding so far is that PnP has to detect the device but
there is no way for it to do that. I am new to windows drivers and so when i realized that installing a driver is in itself comparable to complexity as the driver itself, I decided to try and just install a generic driver that does nothing and has no devices
just to see that I am in fact installing the driver. Then I had planed to learn how to load the driver and have it's driver entry function called that can fill in it's respective members. Eventually I had planed on creating ioctl's that could be accessed by
user mode application and mapping physical memory of mmio address to system address. I thought this would allow it to at least work, then I could go back and try and bring it in line with windows methodology. Also there may already be functions already implemented
by system supplied driver and a filter driver may allow it to be more portable but I had not planned on going into that until after I had got something working specific to my platform.
Now just to go over where I am thus far, I will summarize what I believe to be necessary so far. A driver needs a device. Devices are found via hardware and it's respective drivers, which are then enumerated and pnp is alerted at kernal mode. pnp or io manager
finds the driver and only then loads an installed driver or installs and then loads the driver if not installed already. It seems there is no device specific to a amd fusion controller hub gpio pin. Also there is no way for it to no about devices attatched
with out my driver already loaded. I have started to read about bus drivers. I think a bus driver really doesnt fit PnP in that it is kinda already part of the system and self detection kinda doesnt make sense. So can I or do I have to make my driver a bus
driver? Or does acpi or some low level firmware still have to say "hey im a bus and this is how i work" to the os? I looked at toaster sample code and it has an enum executable that plugs in or ejects devices based on device id's also a toaster seems
pretty unorthodox device so could I create my own kind of device fitting to my purpose and then some how make a user mode application which alerts PnP "logically" instead of by hardware?
Also I had considered another approach of just using anything to that gets automatically enumerated and using it's device type to call my driver, then my driver does it's things even though they are unrelated to the device detected. I know this isnt how
it's supposed to work and also would temporarily mess up PnP for that device for it's intended purpose, but would it allow me to at least access physical memory mapped io?
Sorry have been racking my head on this for months now and the whole purpose isnt to implement windows methodology but actually completely unrelated, what was originally important is development of new device and for the past 3 months all's I've worked on
is windows drivers and progress has been little or none it seems.

Supplier Hierarchy issue

anyone have idea to map 0XALSUPPA (Source System Supplier (parent) (ERP).
As far as I understood this field is to enable supplier hierarchy in SPM.
We are using datasource method to map from ECC but 0XALSUPPA (Source System Supplier (parent) (ERP) is not part of datasource (Z_SADSERPSUPPLIER)?

Its not easy to populate the hierarchy table directly in BW. Instead follow the suggestions mentioned above. Populate the parent attribute in the master data object and use the SPM program to generate hierarchy. The program to be used is "RSXSA_HIERARCHY_UPLOAD", the values you need to pass this program are:
Upload ID: just use 1
Hierarchy name: Provide a valid hierarchy name
Info-object: is the characteristics on which you want to create a hierarchy (0XARLSUPP, 0XAREWCCAT, ETC...)
Hierarchy-bearing attribute: This is the attribute which will provide a valid parent ID
Hierarchy root node: Root node of the hierarchy.
This program is called in few SPM process chains (0ASA_XA_P14, 0ASA_XA_P04, 0ASA_XA_P27), these should give you a good idea of how this program works.
Limitations of the above program for now.
1. Make sure this is one and only record where the ID and the parent match, this is basically the root node of your hierarchy.
2. Text nodes are not supported at the moment to create a hierarchy.
3. External characteristics are not supported to create a hierarchy.
4. The ID provided in the parent attribute has to be a valid master data ID.

POD(Point of delivery) Confilct between supplier and distributor

This is rajasekaran, am a new user in the ISU industry. am trying to create a payment advice note in the distributor system for the billings processed and done a payment run in the supplier system.
Can someone help me, how to find a the a same POD which exists in the distributor system and supplier system. I have used the transaction ETHI_DIS and SE16.
In my system scenario there is no Etransfer happening between these two systems so i have to create the bills in the supplier system as distributor have sent it to the supplier.So thats the reason am trying to find a Same POD which exists in the both systems(supplier and distributor).

Thank you so much for your relpy, i tried using your reply and found the Ext POD ID and tried to create the bill in the supplier system using the POD ID taken from distributor system. when i click on identification button on the bill creation transaction (invdoc01) it was showing to manullay identify and i found no POD's were listed for that ID. this is happening for all the POD ID taken from distributor system
Can you suggest me what can be the reason. and how to overcome that.

Can you show applications open directly in menubar instead of dock?

I want to disable dock totally
But I want to get the functionality in my menu bar
So i want to show icons of the apps which are open (or at least favourite apps), directly on the menubar
I don't want them in a folder, I already have an app which does that called xMenu
I want the actual icons of the Favourite/IfPossible:OPEN apps to directly appear in menubar
Is there anything that can get some/all of this functionality?

Well, there probably is; however, a word of caution: the Menu bar is controlled by the System and it may have undesirable results changing system behavior.
What is it about the dock that bothers you?
I have all the apps I use on a regular basis in the dock - not a folder, mind you - alias icons to the apps themselves which all open with one click. I rarely use the system supplied Applications folder in the dock. At last count, I had almost 60 app icons in the dock, which is minimized with significant magnification - I have them organized so I can usually hit the right one without having to search. You can also check "automatically show and hide the Dock" so it'll only show itself when moving the cursor over the area.

In this step, you define the tolerance limits for price variances.
When processing a purchase order, the system checks whether the effective price of a PO item shows variances compared with the valuation price stored in the material master record. In addition, it checks whether the specified cash discount value is admissible.
Variances are allowed within the framework of tolerance limits. If a variance exceeds a tolerance limit, the system issues a warning or error message.
In the SAP System, the types of variance are represented by the tolerance keys. For each tolerance key, you can define percentage and value-dependent upper and lower limits per company code.
Standard settings
The standard SAP System supplied contains the following tolerance keys:
PE Price variance, Purchasing
Tolerance limit for system message no. 207. This message appears if the specified effective price exceeds the predefined tolerances when compared with the material price.
SE Maximum cash discount deduction, Purchasing
Tolerance limit for system message no. 231. This is a warning message, which appears when the specified cash discount percentage exceeds the predefined tolerances.
Note
You can specify whether the system message appears as a warning or error message using the menu options <b>Environment -> Define Attributes of System Messages.</b>

Can multiple server processes be run on a single machine?
I wish to compile each server module independently and run them individually so
that if one goes down,the other processes doesn't affect.
Can we start all the server modules using single tmboot command?
How can we write a bea configuration file that suits the above requirements?
Please suggest me on this.

It is normal to have more than one Tuxedo server process running on a
machine, exactly as you describe. In fact, if you include the system
supplied servers that run (BBL, etc.) then all Tuxedo applications have
more than 1 server.
I suggest that you take a look at the Bankapp tutorial that comes with
Tuxedo, this (and the associated documentation) should give you
step-by-step answers to all your questions.

Report displaying Material Standard Price and PO Price

Hello Experts
We have materials which are purchased. Price control is maintained as standard price and standard price is maintained using T Code MR21 periodically.
Due to this when PO price is different from standard price maintained in material master (usually PO price is higher than standard price) all price difference are posted to price difference GL at the time of GR.
Now users want to check variations between standard price and PO price for the material receipts.
Can anyone suggest me any report which provides details of standard price and PO price for the material receipts?

Nothing std I'm aware of either. You could consider using the messages 06 205/6/7 to get a warning at the time POs are created that price varies significantly from std.
