Systemupdate problems

I'm running Zenworks Configuration Management version 10.3.0.0 and am trying to update, but am unable to.
The following updates are available:
Update for ZCM (10.1.1) - status: baselined
Update for ZCM (10.1.2a) - status: baselined
Update for ZCM (10.1.3) - status: baselined
Support Pack 2 for ZCM (10.2) - status: baselined
Update for ZCM (10.3.0a) - status: Canceling
I'm stuck here. The update for ZCM 10.3.0a cannot be deleted or deployed because it is "canceling" and has been doing this for several weeks!
What is the correct way to update my ZCM server?

Big fan noise problem: the rear fan won't shut off, the BIOS won't update, systemupdate locks up

I received new ThinkStaion (oh boy, lots of memory and CPU speed, yay!)
I unfortunately left the originally installed Vista OS on there. Very much regretting that as I believe it contributes to the following problems (BIOS).
So the original problem was that after just a month of using my new ThinkStation, the System Board died, and it had to be replaced. Honestly, all I did was choose the sleep or hibernate option in Vista to shut down. Afterwards,poof! didn't even get the proper Power lights on the system. I diagnosed this with the online docs and then sat for a few hours on our tech support line doing all the same things to re-diagnose it.
So after the replacement, the rear fan will not shut off. Jet engine noise all day. I went into the system settings and selected "Quiet" for the Fan settings but that did not help.
Research on this forum resulted in the possibility of a BIOS update fixing the problem. Comparison to my co-workers systems which arrived at the same time shows this BIOS is woefully out of date, so even if it does not fix the fan issue I want to update it. However, everything I've tried to do is failing for one reason or another.
(The fan issue does need resolution since in one week I will end up sharing an office (first time in many years, thanks IBM for nothing!) so since I don't want us both to have to wear noise cancelling headsets, I'd like to fix this without having to just pull the @#$@ power to the fan. Grrrr. )
I downloaded what I felt were the appropriate Lenovo apps to update both the BIOS and the serial number but none seem to work properly from the command line in Vista. One of the two (can't recall which) asks me to reboot and it never actually shuts down. Eternal "Shutting Down" message. Ga! The other throws some gosh awful

error 1275 no admin priv - I AM the administrator account, there is no other acct to use!
Then I decided Vista might be the problem and found sites recommending flashing the BIOS from a bootable USB. So I started down that path and after burning the wrong version, finally geting the AIK Vista tools installed and to the point of trying to make the USB bootable, it won't allow me to put the OS boot on it. Ah, for the days when a simple "sys a:" took care of that.
So, after reformatting the USB and pounding my head in the wall, keyboard, etc. I am at my wit's end. What to do. I just want the fan noise to go away.
This does seem to duplicate other forum messages but I can't get anywhere on this. Help!

FYI to all the helpful folks here (and any looking to shut their jet engine off as well): Flashing the BIOS did the trick.
First I had to find a website with DOS OS files and put those on the USB instead of Vista. Oldie but a goodie, but at least it booted! No other versions would.
I had been intending to use the WinPhlash utility that Lenovo supplied with the BIOS update but since I was booting from DOS that was useless. However, I found a DOS version of it and used that instead. Boom baby! Flashed and rebooted.
It did take two boots to get it back to normal (first one gave very alarming messages about no operating system being found but I think it was just a remnant of the reboot that was triggered from the DOS session). A second boot returned life to normal and blissful silence from the server. And I was finally able to get the model and serial number back in there to get rid of the bootup message it throws for that too.
Ahhhhhhh.
Thanks to all for the hints - I believe I had gotten the idea of flashing the BIOS to solve this from some other thread I found here. This is a very nice forum to have bookmarked.

Problem installing systemupdates

Hi,
i have an issue installing the latest updates for yosemite.
As you can see in the image, the appstore is telling me i already installed it, but this updates are available
for update?!? When i run the update button appstore tells me download, installing but then after a few
seconds - nothing. And the updates are available as ever.
What can i do?

Airport Express B/G : problems with manual IP configuration?

I don't know when it started, but I think it has something to do with one of te latest systemupdates or airport firmware updates.
Configuration :
- Airport Express N : only N, bridge mode, IP manual (192.168.1.7), roaming with Extreme N
- Airport Extreme N : only N, bridge mode, IP manual (192.168.1.35), roaming with Express N
- Airport Express B/G (older one) : B/G compatible, bridge mode, IP manual (192.168.1.8), no roaming, just stand alone.
All the airports are wired connected to a 10/100 switch.
No internet configuration on these airports, I'm using a separated router, also connected to the switch.
Problem : The airport Express B/G dissapears from the network : from time to time not visible in the airport utility program, from time to time not visible in iTunes (airtunes). In spite of these problems, he is always visible in the airport network menu. An IP ping works just fine.
When I change the IP configuration of the Airport Extreme B/G from manual to DHCP, there is NO problem anymore.
No problems with the Airport Express N an Airport Extreme N.
Are there other users with the same problem?

Yes on both. Your network configuration would look something like the following:
Modem > (Ethernet) > \[WAN port] AEBSn \[LAN port] > (Ethernet) > AX

Yes, it's always a good idea to both reset both base stations and, after doing so and before configuring them, perform a complete power recycle of your network equipment.
So in this case ...
o Power-down the modem, AEBSn, AX, & computers. (Order is not critical.)
o Reset both the AEBSn & AX. (Again, order is not critical.)
o Power-down each base station after performing a successful reset.
o Power-up the modem; wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-up the AEBSn; wait at least 10 minutes.
o Plug-in the AX; wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-up your computer(s).
o Use the AirPort Utility to reconfigure both base stations as required.

Item.SystemUpdate for Client Object Model in sharepoint 2010

I have a javascript that modifies a column/field in the list item when opened. However, this changes the Last Modified By field of the item.
is there a SystemUpdate method for Client Object Model?

I got a work around for this problem..
Before updating the Modified, Modified By values, First we need to Disable the version settings for document library. Once the fields updated then again we need to enable the version settings.

Thinkpad SystemUpdate - Language settings for downloaded utilites?

There seem to be slight troubles in the way how Lenovo's SystemUpdate keeps (or does not keep) track of regional, language-dependent settings.
Scenario: Installed a clean Windows (english, non-T61-specific) XP SP2 on a T61, copied and installed T61-specific network drivers and SystemUpdate and then started automatic SystemUpdate search and install.
Problem: SystemUpdate loads and installs mixed language tools and utilities (partly english and partly german) based on facts which I currently can not reproduce. E.g., installed version of ThinkVantage Productivity Center is the english one (as intended), Fingerprint reader utility and some others are all in german. Selected WinXP keyboard layout was german, country/locale set to Austria but I'd prefer to download and install plain english drivers and tools.
Any hint what factors influence on SystemUpdate's decision for a specific language and how I can configure the language for downloads? I do not remember of having seen any language selection option.

My main beef with Adobe being that the most likely area of interest after everything else in Premiere being "native" and fast is that you will have noise artefacts on your audio timeline which you may wish to fix quickly. Photoshop CS6 file extension problem

I want to choose an file extension in the "Save as" Dialog. If i choose Jpeg, Photoshop takes EPS and so on. Systemupdate and reinstall PS does not help.

As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

Macbook 1,83 Quatafire 610 Logic Pro Midi Problem

I use an Esi Quatafire 610 with my Macbook (1,83 Intel Dual Core) and Logic Pro 7.2.3. Since
the last Systemupdate (10.4.10) and Securityupdates, the Midi-Interface of the Quatafire have
"hang ons" at Port 1. Port 2 seems to be ok. I tried the Quatafire with my G5 (2,0 Dual) and
don´t have any Problem here. So the Quatafire itsself seems to be ok.
I also installed the Audio-Update for Intel machines but this was no solution. Does anyone
know something about this problem? The Quatafire works with Apple Core-Midi drivers.

So yes I am playing on the virtual instruments. No separate audio device. I have external speakers plugged into my computer so when I play my keyboard through Logic, sound comes out of my computer external speakers and not the keyboard speakers(I turn the keyboard volume off). The problem I described happens for the various virtual instruments I have tried, strings, woodwinds, pianos etc. In the Logic audio settings it says
Output Device: Built in Output
Input Device: Built in Microphone
I/O Buffer Size: 256 samples
When I say the keyboard stops, I mean no sound comes out of my computer speakers for a few seconds. It is as if someone turns the keyboard off for a few seconds and then back on. This happens in Logic when Im trying out different virtual instruments. You are correct when saying it happens only when Logic is running whether I am recording MIDI or just playing and NOT recording. I hope that makes sense. It wouldn't be such a huge problem, but it happens so often it makes it hard to play or record something thats longer than 10 seconds. Thanks for the help.

Seit IOS7 ständig Probleme mit Netzsuche

Hallo zusammen
Seit dem Update auf IOS7 haben meine Frau unnd ich des öffteren kein Netz mehr, und bekommen es auch nur wieder, wenn wir das Iphone neu starten! Es ist dabei egal ob wir zuhause sind oder irgendwo unterwegs sind!
Hatten seiher nie Probleme damit, erst seit IOS7, wir haben beide Vodafone Karten in den IPhones!

FRU11.3.1 problems installing

Hi All,
I had my primary and only server (I know, I know) running 11.2.4 and upgraded to 11.3. I had problems install/deploying the new agent to 11.2.4 machine. Then I noticed there have been 2 updates since 11.3 - 11.3.1 and FRU 11.3.1. I thought in my innocence that Aha-- these must resolve client deployment issues, surely. I proceeded to update my Primary from 11.3 to 11.3.1 and then FRU 11.3.1. I assume that deploying FRU 11.3.1 will roll up 11.3.1 ( double reboot required) but I am still having issues rolling out this agent to my test machines (32bit and 64bit).
My own machine which has 11.2.4 installed is returning the error "One or more pre-requisite updates failed to install to this device. Ensure all pre-requisite updates have been applied successfully and try again." and the other test machine which is running 11.3.0 (had to remove old 11.2.4 agent to put this on as the deployment didn't work) is also returning the error "One or more pre-requisite updates failed to install to this device. Ensure all pre-requisite updates have been applied successfully and try again.". And this is before general roll out. It's a bit scary to say the least as I anticipate this error on all our machines if I do a general deployment..
Have I missed something somewhere along the way? Dotnet4 is installed on the test machines. How do I find out where it is failing?

Update trying to deploy 11.3.1 after installing dotnet4.5 (which by the way crashed my GroupWise client a couple of times it would appear):

Probleme mit Lenovo Settings Dependency Package unter Windows 81

Hi,
seit der Installation des Lenovo Settings Dependency Package Version 2.0.0.14 habe ich massive Probleme auf dem Rechner. Ständig funktioniert das WLAN nicht mehr (eingeschränkte Verbindung). Der Rechner bootet auch nur noch extrem langsam. Kennt jemand eine Lösung?

Probleme mit Lokalisation von Lenovo Software

Hallo alle,
Ich habe ein großes Problem bei der Installation der Support-Software in englischer Sprache.
Ich mache für einene unserer Kunden ein L540 fertig.
Wir haben mit deutschen Recovery-Datenträgern Windows 8 rausgespielt.
Das ganze dann auf englisch umgestellt. (Keyboard ist auch ein englisches Layout).
Leider wird das SystemUpdate nicht mit umgestellt.
Ich habe es mehrfach versucht neu zu installieren (über die US-Seite heruntergeladen) und es ist noch immer nicht auf englisch.
Dann hab ich mal alles gelöscht, was in den Programmen mit Lenovo zu tun hatte, bin über den Laptop auf die US-Seite gegangen und habe dann das Support-Center neu heruntergeladen.
Direkt beim Ausführen der Setup-Datei begrüßte mich ein deutscher Installationsbildschirm.
Hat da irgendwer was hilfreiches für mich?
Ich möchte ungern son Mischsystem herausschicken.
Der direkte Kontakt zum Support per Telefon brachte keine Hilfe ausser "deinstallieren, vom US-Server herunterladen, neu installieren" - das brachte ja aber keine Lösung.
Wäre für Tipps dankbar
