Hi Iqbal,
As Biroj pointed out, you should use the Portal Content Translation feature of Enterprise Portal for the translation of the name of PCD object. You can search on SDN regarding that. However following is the snapshot of the steps to be performed for the Portal Content Translation to resolve your issue.
Navigate to Content Administration->Portal Content Translation tab for translating the texts(names) of the PCD objects(iViews, pages,Worksets, roles, folders) etc.
In Portal Content Translation, follow following steps, which are pretty simple and straight forward :
1.Go to 'Translation worklist Coordination' ->Portal Content and right click your folder and Select New->Translation Worklist
2.This will create the Translation Worklist to which you can add your PCD objects for translation.
3. Go to your folder containing your iView, right click and 'Add Object to Translation Worklist'
4.After you have added all the object you want to translate, click 'Generate Translation Data' button at the top on the Translation Worklist screen.
5.Click the 'Release for Translation' button in the scrren that appears.
6.click Close in the screen that appears.
7. Go to 'Worklist Translation' link.
8.Search for your worklist you just created using the search box.
9.Select the worklist from the result list.
10.At the bottom of the screen select the Source Language and Target languages from the dropdowns
11.clieck 'Load for Translation'
12.Choose whiever texts you want to translate and enter the 'Translated Text' in the box for the target text.
13.After you are done with all the translations, click close.
14.Save All and Close
15.You'l go back to the previous screen again. There select your translation worklist and click 'Mark as Translated'
16.Go back to the 'Translation Worklist Coordination' link and open your translation worklist from your folder.
17.Click 'Publish Translation' button.

  • Error while parsing xml document that file name is Japanese.

    who can help me.
when my xml file name is Japanese. Error occurs while parsing.
the error message is "ORA-20100: Error occurred while parsing: No such file or directory"
    thanks.

    Hi,
When I am trying to parse the XML file, I am getting
the following error. When I run it on Windows having
JDK1.4 it is working fine. But when I am running it
on UNIX having JDK1.2, I am getting this ERROR.
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Illegal character at
    end of document, <.
Any help is appreiciated.I am just guessing, but I would imagine that some of the classes of your JDK 1.4 API have code that is not backwards compatible with earlier versions. There were a few significant changes to the language when 1.4 was released. You would have to read the release notes of 1.4 and also check the API documentation for the classes you are using to parse the XML.
Also, there are some subtle differences between the OS versions of the Java compiler. You are using two different versions of the Java language and two different versions of operating system code.

    Hi Ismael,
Can you try using a PCD Inspector to do the same.
The name of the iview is stored using the property com.sap.portal.pcm.Title. You need to change the name in this property. Remember to update the name with the right locale i.e. the locale which is set for the Portal.

    Hi,
OkCode=/00 - Specifies you need to execute transaction automatically. You can remove this if you dont want transaction to be executed automatically.
    "http://server:port/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction?System=SAP_R3&TCode=SE37&GuiType=WinGui&ApplicationParameter=<Screen field name>="+<function module name>;
In application parameter you need to set screen field, if needed. For example, to pass function module name ZTEST from Web Dynpro to R/3 Screen use code,
    "http://server:port/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction?System=SAP_R3&TCode=SE37&GuiType=WinGui&ApplicationParameter=RS38L-NAME="+ZTEST;

  • IView name change

    Hello,
I need to change the name of the link displaying under a menu.
If I select this link it will call Transactional Iview.
If I change the IView name does it change the link as well? I tried this but it's not working for me.
    Please help me in this?
    Thanks,
    Sarada

    Hi,
Changing an iview name does not affects anything, even though it is a transaction iview, you can very well change the name and still it will work fine as in transaction iview it asks you for an alias and the T-code, so this controls the link and not the iview name. When you did this, did you get any error? or what was the problem you faced?

  • Saving a file in a with a file name containing Japanese Characters

    Hi,
I hope some genius out there comes up with the solution to this problem
    Here it is :
I am trying to save some files using a java program from the command console , and the file name contains japanese characters. The file names are available to me as string values from an InputStream. When I try to write to a File Object containing the japanese characters , I get something like ?????.txt . I found out that I am able to save the files using the unicode value of the java characters.
So I realize that the trick is to convert the streaming japanese characters , character by character into their respective unicode value and then Create A File Object with that name. The problem is -> I cant find any standard method to convert these characters into their unicode values. Does anyone have a better solution ? Remember , its not writing japanese characters to a file , but creating a file with japanese characters in the file name !!!!
    Regards
    Chandu

retrive a byte array out of the input Stream and store the values in String using the condtructor
    String(byte [] bytes, String enc)
where encoding would be Shift_Jis for japanese I guess.
Now to understand this concept basically all the Strings are unicode however when you are passing a byte array String has no means to know what is the encoding of the byte array, which is being used to instantiate the String value so if no encoding is specified it takes the System value which is mostly iso-8859-1. This leads to displaying ?
However in case you know the encoding of the array specifying that in the constructor would be a real help.

  • Portal Content Translation - Unable to see the changed iView name, desc etc

    Hi Experts,
I am using Portal Content Translation to translate the name of iViews, roles, iview description etc from English to Spanish. I have followed the method mentioned in the below mentioned link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/74/641640b7b6dd5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
I have successfully executed all the processes mentioned in the document. It includes:
    Creating Worklists and add content
    Generate translation data
    Release for translation
Search worklist and define source and target language
    Load worklist for translation
    Translate worklist
    Make worklist as translated
    Publish translation
I am able to publish the publish translation.
The above document says that "Publishing a translation means that the translated text strings are written back to the objects to which they belong (for example, the translated title of a role to the role object stored in the Portal Content Directory). "
In my case I have translated the name, description of an iView. After publishing am I supposed to see the name & description of iView in Spanish in the same iView (source iView).
I have not created any target iView. Am I supposed to create any target iView?
I am unable to see iView name, description in Spanish.
Can you please let me know what is going wrong?
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Stuart,
please set the user's language in UME. You can do this in the personalization dialog (see SAP Library section <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/f8/64e93b3a612d52e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm">Setting Portal Preferences</a>. Assign the portal role "eu_core_role" to your user if you do not see the "personalize" link in the portal masthead.
In what language does the iview name appear if you do not select Spanish language?
Please check if the name of the iView appears in Spanish language in PCD after you switched portal language to Spanish.
    Best regards,
    Martin

  • Address Book: Color code the names , groups ?

Is there way to color code the names so you know which groups they belong to?
I.e. I want to create bunch of groups and put names in them but color these names so that when I look at the library I will now which group they belong to.
    thanks in advance

    Rohit,
no, this is not possible (and probably wouldn't be even feasible - since a contact can be member of more than one group, color-coding would be a little difficult)
However, you can check which group(s) a contact belongs to by pressing the alt/option button on your keyboard with the contact select in the Address Book.

  • Iview Name on the page title bar

    Hi All,
For our ESS/MSS iviews, text specified on the service (IMG Configuration) used to appear on the Page title bar. We have recently upgraded our Portal and backend system and now instead of the text speacied on the service, iview name appears on the page title bar.
For example .. The iview name is Address and in the SPRO we created a service called "Address XYZ". On area page the service appears as "Address XYZ", but when we click on the link on the page title bar it shows "Address" instead of "Address XYZ"
Please let me know how change this.
