T530 lenovo thinkpad, need dual monitor cables/converters: just a USB to split into 2 VGAs?

I want to run dual monitors from my T530, or, better yet, from the 4337 docking station. Can I just get a USB with a split pair of VGA ends?

you want to run two extra monitor in addition to the internal LCD? The T530 with the series 3 workstation dock will be able to support that, if you want to use displayport or dvi out.
If you need vga, you can get a USB2VGA conveter, and use the other vga port on the laptop as the second vga source. If you need to have 2 vga to give the exact same video signal, you can get a vga to dual vga splitter cable.

  • How do I move an entire app to a dual monitor? Not just a window?

How do I move an entire app to a dual monitor? Not just a window? I can drag single windows, but if I move a window to the second monitor and hit a button, like 'New', that opens a new window, then it opens the window in the first monitor. I want it to open in the second monitor instead.

Right. Mail remembers as well. I have the menubar set on my larger display, and the main Mail window on the MBP display. When I create a new message, it displays the composition window on whichever display I used the last time for composition. So after the first time I moved the composition window to the larger display, it always opens on that display. I can't remember if it remembers that behavior after taking the MBP on the road, where I use only its display, and then reconnect the second display back at home.

  • Lenovo IdeaCentre K330B Dual Monitor Possible?

I was wondering if there was a way to have a dual monitor setup with the Lenovo IdeaCentre K330B. We have the Lenovo IdeaCentre K330B 7747 and this is for an office application so no gaming. The MTM is 77471CU. I cant seem to figure out what type of card is in there. Will I need to install a new graphics card? If so, what card would work?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Help Needed Sony Monitor Cable Hookup

I just received my Sony PVM 14-L2 monitor today for color correcting and need help with what cables I should use. I have a Canon Elura camcorder that I will be using as a deck.
Please guide me on which ones I should use as I don't want to buy/use the wrong cables. The Sony manual is not very helpful.
    Thank you.

" If all you have is a little rca yellow video out on the camera, hop on down to radio shack and get a bnc cable long enough to go from where you want to put the camera to the monitor, AND get a bnc to male rca adaptor.
Never mind hooking any audio to the monitor, the speakers in them are NG"
    Jim,
Thank you! Yes all I do have is the RCA yellow out. Thanks for making things simple to understand. I was afraid that I made the wrong monitor purchase (from Bogiesan's comments). But I know you all advise viewing your work on a good NTSC monitor. As far as the audio goes - I'm really not using it for that.
I'll let you know how it works out.
If I was to buy something down the line to make it work from computer to monitor - what should I purchase? A board, prosumer video camera...?

  • Thinkpad t41 dual monitor pivot

I have recently got a new monitor with pivot feature. I am not able to make it work so it is usable though...
I use arandr (xrandr frontend) for setting xorg, but as soon as I set the orientation of the secondary monitor to left (to use pivot), even moving windows around is slow as hell. Setting a lower resolution and/or color depth didn't help either. It almost seems as rotating the secondary screen eats all of my system ressources. Is there a way to make it work? The desired setup would be: laptop lcd normal, primary, 1024x768 + secondary lcd, pivoted, 1280x1024. Having both monitors aligned normally works absolutely fine, even when moving a glxgears window around.
    Specs (thinkpad t41):
    Pentium-M 1.6
    1GiB RAM
    Mobility Radeon 7500 (32MiB dedicated)
Openbox+latest Xorg, xorg.conf is pretty much default...

it seems I have to respond myself to almost all of my questions on the forum lately LOL. Maybe I am not clearly expressing myself
Anyway, after talking to some people on IRC, I have found out that in order for rotation to work, I would need to enable the EXA acceleration method. Futhermore, there is a 2047x2047 texture size (virtual desktop size) limit for the radeon 7500 hardware acceleration. After messing with different settings, I finally gave up after finding a bug in xrandr which prevents me from using the requested mode correctly (see http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20083).

  • Dual headphone outputs... can they be split into 2 separate outputs?

I just got a DV6-1214AX and want to use it for DJing and would like to be able to separate the dual headphone outputs so that they are 2 separate outputs (1 for headphone monitoring and cueing etc, the other for the main sound output) is this possible?
If not, any suggestions on the best way to do what I'm after without needing to utilise the digital output for the main sound output??
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thank you...I have been sitting here all morning working on it again and realized there was a way to do it manually that didn't require dragging and dropping the tabs....which it will not do.  Yikes!  Thank you for your response.
Now I have realized there is a problem with the word doc in another field.  The spacing for a telephone number is wrong.  Is there anyway to change it in the form or do I have to go back to the word doc, fix it, then re-import it?  My desire to not do this is because I have to take it back to the original word doc and then when I re-import it, it obviously won't have all these changes I have just made.

  • When i connect my mac book pro to an external display using a VGA cable and adaptor, the external display splits into several different columns of the same screen overlapping one another. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this happens?

I have used different VGA to mini port adaptors, different VGA cables and connected them to different external monitors and prjectors but the same thing happens. I am starting to think there may be a problem with the macbook itself however, when i have used a HDMI lead and adaptor to external monitors the external display is fine.

  • How do I have dual monitor for different windows

I wanted to use two monitors. One to monitor my file while the other as my working window. I am using Imac Intel Duo Core 17" and I heard that I need to buy the adapter. If I buy the adapter, what else need I click so that the FCE can be split into 2 separate monitors. Is there a function? Has anyone done this before?

You can change this in the System Preferences>Display, but a second monitor should default to a dual monitor arrangement. You just have to drag the windows you want onto the second monitor.

  • Can I use dual monitors in Premiere Elements 10?

I've been using Vegas Movie Studio until now. And I wonder if I even in Premiere Elements can use dual monitors. Not just to pull over the viewing part of a screen. But watch the movie in a small window on one screen with the timeline and still have the movie in full screen on the other. As this (in Vegas Movie Studio).

Yes, you can use dual monitors with but a few little tweaks, perhaps some tweaking of the OS (what OS are you using, BTW?) and then a tiny bit of work in PrE's Workspace.
In PrE, you will want to Undock Panel Headers, and this will allow you to drag almost all Panels, to suit your needs. Note: the Timeline's position is locked, but I think that is the only Panel, that behaves that way.
Now, you might need to set up your display in your OS's Control Panel>Display, but that should be easy, and has probably already been done, if you were successfully running Vegas in the dual-monitor environment.
I think that just Undocking Headers will get you where you want to go.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - others might have a few more tips for you. While I run PrPro on my dual-monitor system, I only have PrE on my laptop, and PrE has a few differences, and limitation, than does PrPro. Trust what others, like John T, Steve and Neale tell you.

  • One idoc that needs to split into three messages

    Hi,
I get an idoc from sap through change pointers.  The IDOC needs to be mapped via a mapping program which splits into three different messages.
Let me know how to achieve it.
Some notable info are that the the three messages have different flat structures.
    Your suggestions are well rewarded.

  • HP 2335 Monitor - need adaptor to connect to Lenovo ThinkPad laptop

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop (Ultrabook) that I want to hook up to my HP 2335 external monitor.  I need an adaptor cable but do not know which is the correct adaptor.  I see on my monitor that I have a 15 pin female port.  Can I get an adaptor with a male connector to connect into the monitor and a USB connect to connect into the laptop?  Can I get an adaptor for the original cable that came with the monitor ( I think it is DVI?), that has a USB connector?
If anyone knows how to do this please forward guidance along with technical specifics (description, brand, model number, etc)
    Thanks

You can try using Screen Sharing in the Sharing preferences. Or try a third-party utility such as ScreenRecycler.

  • What cable do i need for a dual monitor iMac late 2013

    Hi there
I am wondering if I can set up a dual monitor for my imac late 2013. I'm quite new to macs so bear with me. I'm a university student studying maya (digital vfx animation) and I need desperately to hve a dual set up. My mac is the 21.5inches. What cable would I need and would monitor would you recommend that would be a good match to my mac. I can afford around £150 but cheaper the better. I am a student who is also a full time disabled single mum lol so funds are scarce.
Thank you in advance for any help that you can give me.
    kind regards

You will need the mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter cable, here.

  • Apple Thunderbolt Monitor connect to Lenovo X240. Is it possible to connect thinkpad to Thunderbolt monitor. Only need display.

For my day job I am required to use a Lenovo Thinkpad X240 and would like to use my Thunderbolt display.  Is it possible to connect? I am not concerned about audio capabilities. If yes what adapters should I use?

I have a similar situation, however my Lenovo is an X1Carbon and it DOES have a thunderbolt port.  Can I use my Levono X1Carbon with my apple thunderbolt external monitor?  I have tried plugging it in, however it doesn't seem to be working?  Is there something specific that I need to do?
    Thanks!

  • Cable Needed For Dual Monitors iMac 9.1

    Hi,
I want to connect a (VGA) lcd screen to my imac 9.1 - Intel Core 2 Duo, but i have no idea what cable to buy...
A DVI to VGA, Mini displayport to VGA, mini DVI to VGA...
I want to buy this because i want to run 2 monitors, so i have more screen space
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
the iMac 9.1 (otherwise known as the "Early 2009" model) has a Mini DisplayPort output port http://support.apple.com/kb/SP507
So a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter is what you need http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MTA4MzU1NDg
    Hope it helps
