T7900 remote screwed...

Hey. I bought a Creative Inspire T7900 with my dell computer, and now i have a problem with the sound system(which is covered by dell), but i hoped for a quicker answer here before i asked them. The bass in my sound dissapears sometimes when i use the speakers, but i could just turn down the volume to 0(turn the system off and on again), and the bass is back for a little while. because of this i think the problem lies in the remote(or the cable to the remote). so does creative deliver seperate parts, or just complete set?.. another angle: could dell get me just a new remote instead of changing my hole sorround set(since i have mounted(?) my speakers up on the wall and fixed my cables into the wall so they are kinda stuck there :P)

I have a problem like this too. But my speakers system is the itrigue 3200. The model with the cheapest remote. The remote broke 2 or 3 weeks after I got the speakers system (but not from dell). The remote still work but baldy and the volume go up and down randomly and now I want to buy the wireless remote I200 but I live in Canada and Creative don't seem to consider that they have consumers in Canada. They don't ship in Canada.

  • Two boxes - changing channels

    I have the following setup:
A HD STB and a HD DVR connected to a receiver (the incoming line is split). The receiver is connected by HDMI to the TV. I can now watch a program on the HD STB while the DVR is recording two other programs.  If I change the channel on the HD STB while the DVR is recording, will the channel also change on the DVR and stop recording?
    Thanks in advance.

You have 2 boxes hooked up to the same tv, via a receiver. Are they in the same location?
I'm asking because both the HD STB and HD DVR uses the same remote control, so you might screw things up.
Anyways, if you have that figured out, then no you're fine.
The HD STB runs independently from the HD DVR.
Think of the 2 devices as being in 2 different rooms). if you have your HD DVR recording 2 programs, and you're changing channels on the HD STB, you're still fine.
Again the only thing you have to worry about is if they're stacked on top of each other, both units will respond to the remote control at the same time..... Actually I just thought of something.
When you have the HD DVR recording 2 things at once, TURN IT OFF, then you can turn on the HD STB and watch other stuff without the remote screwing up the HD DVR. (I just tested this, looks like pressing MENU, will make a turned off STB (anyof them) turn on, so don't press menu lol)

  • Remote can't find iTunes library

I am running iTunes 10.5.1 on windows xp3 with a netcomm nb9wmaxxn. I have a wired LAN as well as using the wireless.
    I have remote 2.2.
I have 2 computers connected to the LAN. Neither can connect to my iPhone using home sharing, but when I try to connect the other way iTunes finds my device and asks for a passcode. This it accepts and tells me I can use it but my iPhone cannot find the library.
Despite this I know my iPhone can connect to iTunes as it updates app purchases OTA.
The other confusing issue is that my third computer is a small net book and connects to network via WAN. This computer can connect to Remote on my iPhone no problem n
I am at a loss now. I have been through as many posts as I can and have tried most suggestions relating to firewalls etc but nothing seems to work.
    Any ideas anyone?

I am having the same problem with multiple routers and can't help thinking that something has either been changed universally in the firmware of all contemporary routers (except perhaps apple routers?), or Apple has screwed something up in the Remote App / iOS.
    My experience:
    1. 2008 vintage DLink DIR-655 router (with old firmware)... works perfectly. Unfortunately this router's internet connection has failed, so I am trying to replace it. I can only use it as a LAN router.
    2. I purchase both DLink DIR-825 and a new DIR-655 (with new firmware)... with both of these routers my iPhone can wirelessly access the internet, but not the LAN. Remote doesn't work.
    3. I learn that some of my other devices also have problems with LAN access. computers and laptops are ok, but my smart TV, andriod tablet, iphone don't work.
    4. Using my airport express as wireless access point fixes the LAN access issue for these devices BUT remote app still doesn't work.  I see the same behaviour you have described.
    5. I get a new CISCO wireless modem from my ISP... the WAN and LAN seem to work, but remote app still doesn't work. Same "Can't find" behaviour after entering the 4 digit code.
I will try to call Apple tech support in the next week or so when I have time!

  • Remote not working - system files...?

hi, sorry for the longish post, gonna detail what i've been doing and the other problems i've dealt with, for background. think the only problem left now tho is with the remote.
i coincidentally used my apple remote for the first time yesterday, and it was working fine, with front row and mediacentre.
then later on yesterday, i managed to screw up a lot of my system files using a program called 'monolingual' (it removed the ppc code from the files, leaving only the intel, end result being that rosetta stopped working). ended up reinstalling osx (10.4.6) from the discs that came with the macbook. from what i'd read, i'd been expecting to do an archive & install, but that wasn't offered, it just did an 'upgrade' (tho it was the same version) install of osx over the top.
this fixed rosetta, and other than having to reinstall a couple of programs everything seems to be working normally, except that the remote isn't working at all. the macbook doesn't respond to it at all, the button combination to pair the remote to the mb has no effect, and there aren't even any options in the security preferences relating to the remote.
any ideas how to fix this? any idea which system files are relevant to the remote, that might need refreshing? other suggestions?
    thanks,
    dave
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

yep it showed up in the hardware test.. then actually when osx booted back up, it complained about my logitech mouse driver not being installed properly, so i reinstalled that... then rebooted and it complained about some other extension mouse driver, so i reinstalled that... and when it rebooted again, the remote works again!
guess the dodgy drivers were fouling up the usb stuff (yep today i learned that the ir receiver, and the isight, run on usb. today i also restarted my macbook more times than i have in the last few weeks since i got it).
    thanks for your help anyway

  • IPhone and Remote App

I have both an iPhone and an iPad operating on iOS 4.3.  I have noticed that on the iPhone using the Remote App and selecting the Airplay icon that is in the bottom right corner of the screen I can select multiple Airplay outputs.  I have found out that trying to select the "Computer" selection makes this go from a Mutliple slection option to a Single Airplay option, I can not select the Computer as an option. Tapping the circle next to the Computer picture now has the same function that selecting Single/Multiple icon does.  I can unselect the computer if it was already selected (in iTunes/ mutiple speaker window).  The described function works correctly on the iPad Remote App.
    Anyone have anysuggestion?

Ok I,ve solved my own problem.
After hours of pinging, researching, swearing, you name it - I did it.
    Solution.
Pulled out all the power leads on Apple Tv, time capsule and router. Left all devices off for 10 mins. Deleted Remote App off iPhone. Downloaded a new version of Remote App.
Turned on Router - waited for it to be in ready mode.
Plugged back in Apple Tv and and time capsule.
Yep, you guessed what was coming. Everything worked perfectly.
I must have screwed up when first setting up Remote App and Apple Tv. This must have led to confusing the system. As when starting the new Remote App I did nor not have to pair with either iTunes library or the Apple Tv.

  • Using VPN to access remote servers; copying files to desktop since "upgrading" to Mavericks no longer works. Can anyone help please?

    Hi everyone,
I work remotely using Cisco AnyConnect (company provided) to access the company servers. Until "upgrading" to Mavericks I was able to copy files directly to my desktop – from either the servers themselves, from within Bridge, and/or by using the finder - you get the idea. Now I can only copy the files by opening them while still on the server using the native app (in my case mainly InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator files) and saving them to my desktop that way.
I'm a designer, I use a lot of files for my specific job every day and these files are often pretty large and doing it this way is time-consuming and really frustrating seeing as I had no such issues with the previous OS. It's not a total nightmare (yet) like some of things some of you are dealing with but I've spent more time restarting, freezing and trying to fix issues than I have actually using my darned machine. I have no choice but to access my work this way; I'm part of a much larger team and we all work on these files off and on during the day so I'm constantly needing to copy files and make sure I'm working on the most current version. Working off the server isn't an option as the speed decreases considerably... making the slightest task cringingly slow. As in 25 minutes for a PDF to be created slow.
I've been used to my system running smoothly, without issues and fast so this upgrade is turning into a bit of a nightmare. Before I throw in the towel and try and downgrade, does anyone have any ideas? My technical knowledge where these things are concerned isn't beginner but I'm no expert  and I'm stumped. I just don't know where to start and I'm afraid of screwing something else up during the process of trying to fix this (so far) one issue and creating a snowball effect.
I'm using a 27" iMac (late model 2012 purchased in March 2013) with a second Viewsonic monitor attached. I have a Cintiq 22HD hooked up (but not on all the time) and a Wacom tablet in use. I currently use both CS5 (work hasn't upgraded to CC yet) and Adobe CC (for personal use) on my system.
Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    G.

    Hi,
By default, the Remote Desktop (RD) Gateway component that encapsulates RDP in HTTPS packets listens on port 443 (for TCP) and port 3391 (for UDP). After you changed the ports in Transport Settings tab, please make sure that you have opened the custom ports
    you selected in Windows Firewall.
In addition, since you have mentioned the registry key, would you please share the entire path?
It seems that you need to manually update the gateway in the RDP file with the port. Have you created an .rdp file? You can also refer to the link below:

  • IOS Remote App and ATV2

I cannot get the iOS remote app to connect to my Apple TV2. It connects just fine to the iTunes libraries on my network, but from three different iOS devices I get the same error. The app sees the ATV2 and tries to connect, but fails. The odd thing is, it used to work flawlessly. I hadn't used the app for a month or so and now its not working. I've tried resetting the apple TV (both power cycle and full settings reset) as well as rebooting the router and the iOS devices. I reinstalled the remote app as well. The weird thing is, I can airplay mirror to the ATV2 fine, just the remote app fails. The error message I receive after sitting at the "Connecting to Apple TV" screen is as follows:
"Remote can't connect to your iTunes library. Check your network settings and try again.
I have no idea what changed in my set up, perhaps a software upgrade screwed something up but I'm at a loss I've tried everything. The ATV2 is running 4.4.4, the iOS devices are all up to date running latest remote app.
I Apple TV can access my iTunes libraries fine as well.

Mar 30, 2013 11:31 AM Recently purchased new AirPort Extreme.  The wifi network works fine and all is well.  The issue is I can not connect my Remote app with iTunes or my Apple TV. - I have rebooted my AP Extreme as well as my AP TV and my PC. - I have logged out of Home Sharing and logged back in. - On my iPad or iPhone I add Library and receive a Passcode, I enter in the PC into iTunes and I receive an error message "The passcode you entered was incorrect. Please try again"  I receive this error when entering all my idivices. - I have deleted the Remote App and reinstalled it, but continue to receive the same error message. - All soft ware on all divices are current. - I have diabled my firewall. Who has any ideas?  Thanks MacBook Air, iOS 5.1.1

  • Apple remote no longer works?!

    Hi everyone,
I recently replaced the 120 GB hard drive with a 200 GB hard drive, clean install (no disk imaging or time machine). I did it myself having seen it been done before and relatively knowledgeable about computer hardware. I grounded myself and was careful to put everything back as I saw it.
Everything went well EXCEPT *my Apple Remote no longer works*. The light in the button to open the laptop works fine and my remote works on other computers, but in System Preferences the option to pair the remote doesn't even exist anymore. I understand I probably screwed something up when I opened my laptop up, but I have a few questions first.
My first question is this: *Is there some sort of software setting/diagnostic that I can run to test the connection to the infrared receiver?*
My other question is: *Is there anything special I should know about the infrared receiver hardware? Any known issues, typical problems, or things I should check to make sure everything is connected?*
I've double-checked the connection, the receiver is DEFINITELY connected to the mini-strip (along with the button light).
    Thanks,
    - Keith

The Hardware Tests (boot from the install DVD and hold d) should show if the receiver isn't working.
In System Preferences/Security is "Disable remote control infrared receiver" checked by any chance, try checking/un-checking it and see if Pair lights up ? (I don't Pair, I leave it to work with any remote as I have three floating about)

  • What's a good usb remote for MacBook Pro 15" retina?

I don't want use the keynote remote app and need a good usb-based remote control for my presentations.  Any suggestions?
    thanks,
    JD

Well, my Early 2008 MBP could run AHT without requiring any external stuff back in April 2008....
However, there have been reports that it gets screwed up with some upgrades, especially when Lion sets up its Recovery Mode partition. MBPs with Lion-from-factory do run AHT without requiring anything else (which of course you do not have from that cat on forward).
Can't say much about the snowy cat since it was a lost species to me. My old Leopard MBP died horribly and had to jump directly to Lion without further ado.

  • Install Remote Desktop Services Failed on Windows 2012 Server

I understand RDS is not recommended on DC due to security consideration.  However since I want to play it at home, it is not much a concern.  Such scenario works fine on Windows 2008 R2.  But on Windows 2012, the RDS (session-based, have not
tried VDI, but expect same result) installation always fails and is incomplete on DC.
In \Administrative Tools\Terminal Services, I only have RD Licensing Diagnoser and RD licensing manager.  The remote desktop service management service cannot be started (Error code: 0x88250001).  Is there any extra configuration needed for RDS
working on Server 2012 DC or before the installation?  Thanks.
Update: this issue has been solved in Windows 2012 R2 Server.  According to
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2013/07/09/what-s-new-in-remote-desktop-services-for-windows-server-2012-r2.aspx
"Single server RDS deployment including Active Directory. We now support running our RD Connection Broker role service on the same physical instance as an Active Directory Domain Controller.  In addition, we published
guidelines for how RD Session Host could be used without the RD Connection Broker."
The guidelines (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2833839/en-us) primarily apply to Windows 2012 Server.

Asinine.  Simply Asinine.  Microsoft took it out because of $GREED$.
RemoteDesktop has become so popular, they had to break it to make more money.  Thats why they discontinued SmallBusinessServer.   If this practice is so tabooo... Why did MS go the opposite direction with SBS 2011 Premium Cal's?  SBS2011
had DC, Exchange, RDS and Sharepoint,SQL, RemoteWebWorkplace, OWA all working in perfect harmony.  It is an untrue statement then, that it was "allowed but not recommended"
Now you by Server2012 (core + two virtual) and its not enough for all this.
You need at least another $700 for another sever licence to have it all
and who knows if SQL will run on a DC, or Exchange, or R-DERP server.  Another reacherous bridge to cross.
By far, the absloute worse release since Millennium.  The product is not ready for production, we broke our rule of waiting until the first SP1 upgrade for this and Exchange 2013.  Problems with USB drivers and networking running extreamly slow.
Our 2003 SBS server was at least three times as fast, and this server has SAS and SSD drives running.  It can't get out of its own way, and IE10 is the most unstable piece of crap to come out of Redmond.  Open wide and swallow - Mother Microsoft
knows whats best for you.  YOU WILL EAT OUR SLOP AND LEARN TO LIKE IT.   Server2012 AKA  "METRO-SERVER"
Now here I sit after 50 Hours back to back setting up a new R-DERP server 2012, AD, Have my RDP licences in my hand at $100 each, and WTH does Microsoft care if I install it on my DC.  ITS MY DC.  And the cost savings versus the "risk" was
    previously MY decision.
Sure, I can install a couple of Virtual HyperV sessions but they are so tempremental to a power-outage in a small business its not worth it.  I have to double up my server hard drive resources, buy a $800 battery backup unit and make sure to attach
the cable, and even then, if that Bi**H does not shut down properly, one bit goes awry in a VHD or VHDX file and you are screwed.  Restore from lastnights backup and forget about todays work.  Not to mention it will probably take a half day to try
to fix it, then recover it then tell the 30 users they lost a days worth of work.
HYPER-V is for test servers and has no place in a small (micro) business environment. 5-30 users.
Microsoft's solution, buy another server.  Need Exchange?  Buy another server or take the risky cheapskate route and spin up some VHD's.  Might as well put a gun to your head and play russian roulette, at least you know you have a one in six
chance of failure.  With MS, its a 100% failure for a dirty shutdown power loss, motherboard blows, memory goes corrupt in a few years, your conventional method of recovery is gone, and you have some upchucked VHD file to try to recover some of TODAYS
    data from.
    Screw server 2012 forever.
I will sell 2008 and SBS2011 Premium unitl it rots in hell like XP (of which there is NOTHING wrong with for the average, WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and QUICKBOOKS that all SMB's use.  Its MS $GREED$  Grab the world by the B**ls and squeeze with all
your might to squeeze every dime you can out of *SMB* because big business is going to run thier 2003 Exchange and 2008 servers into ground before they switch to this garbage.
YOU CANNOT INSTALL EXCHANGE 2013 on DC , OR on R-DERP server.
Go buy another server license and server or MOVE TO THE CLOUD and get fleeced every month.
I have 30 DC/R-DERP/Exchange and SBS2011 Premium servers all running for years in perfect harmony, locked down with security so the users can't even WIGGLE with something they are not supposed to work with.  They get their apps, cannot install anything
and all these servers are running just fine behind the firewall and perfectly save.  The track record of this combination is 100% stable and is up 24/7/365 with no problems.  Do yourself a favor and throw this 2012 into the river, you don't need
any weights because it is LEAD and will sink to the bottom by itself.
Why, you ask?  Official is "Its for your protection"  The real reason?  To sell you more $700 server licences.
Maybe for SMB, we start selling Linux NAS Servers, host the Exchange in the cloud and be hearded like cattle to the Microsoft slaughterhouse.  One way or another, you are going to bleed.    A little each month to move to the cloud, or
a small fortune if you want to have it in house.  Microsoft wants it to be more expensive to have in house.  No more buying a server and running it for six years before you upgrade.  They can't have in house servers competing with their cloud,
and small businesses are the low hanging fruit  ripe for the pickin'.

The sound can be heard through the headphones but the problem is the headset's remote control ain't functioning at all. what is the problem and could anyone explain what are the functions of the 5 buttons located on the remote as there's no info on it? Does the headset function as a handsfree also? Thanks for replying..

the battery is the CR 2032 what you need to do is ...
remove the pin that goes through the clip at the back. then remove the plastic clip from the unit to revel a small star screw. remove the screw and then flick off the front of the unit. then remove the main board inside and take the battery out. put new batterry back in and put it back together.
NOTE: the pin is very hard to get in and out of the clip to start and need to be done with great care or you will end up causing damage to the plastic and cant put the clip back on.
i went to a few jewellery shops to see if they would do it for me but no luck which ment me doing it and now im having to have the control hanging rather then clipped onto my clothes.
hope this helps and good luck with getting it sorted.
i was also told taht if its under 12months (which the battery only last about 6 months) then you will be covered under the nokia guarantee, however they dont like to take responsabliaty for it!
how stupid to have a unit with a battery that customers cant get to to change when needed...looks like just another way to keep their money comming in to them!

  • How to program Sony RMT-VB100U Blu-Ray remote to control Vizio TV

I want to eliminate some remote controls...I have a Vizio TV and want to turn it on/off and adjust volume via my fancy little Blu-Ray remote Sony RMTV-B100U that came with my BDPS3500, BUT the pre-programmed brands do not include Vizio.  How do I make this remote work with the Vizio, or am I just screwed and need to buy a tool belt to carry all these ****** remotes around?  I'm not buying a universal remote when I have plenty of remotes that should do the job.

    Hi nphiker,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
The supplied remote " RMT-VB100U " is not a universal remote control. However, you can control some televisions which is not a Sony TV. Please refer to the link below on page 44 for the supported TVs.

  • AppleTV screws up my Sony TV...

since the last update, everytime I turn on my AppleTV 2, it screws up my sony TV. once I turn it on, I can't change the inputs on the TV - every input stays on the Apple TV screen. i also cannot turn my TV off - pushing the power button on the TV itself won't turn it off and pushing the power button on the remote won't turn the TV off. the screen is just stuck on the Apple TV screen.
the only way to get the Apple TV off the screen or turn the TV off is to unplug the power to the TV. this is craziness!!!
how can this Apple TV be so screwed up??!!

It does indeed sound as if the problem is with the TV or HDMI cable.
Perhaps the HDMI port on the TV or the HDMI cable are defective. I would try the following:
    1. Physically disconnect the Apple TV and see if the problem persists.
    2. If you have more than one HDMI input on your TV, connect the Apple TV to a different HDMI port and don't connect anything to the one that the Apple TV is currently connected to.
    3. Connect the Apple TV using a different HDMI cable to the original HDMI port and also to a different HDMI port.
Which model of Sony TV do you have?
Some Sony TVs have settings that allow HDMI devices to power on or power off the TV or for the TV to power on or power off the HDMI device. Try all the possible combinations of these settings to determine if that affects the problem that you're experiencing.

  • Apple Remote Desktop Update Kills Quicken 2007

Today this update (3.8.2v1.1) to Apple Remote Desktop Client loaded and now Quicken 2007 will start but will not quit and after telling it to quit it's windows are screwed up with toolbar missing. Only change to my system since yesterday's no problem use of Quicken was this update. I don't use Apple Remote Desktop, but I DO USE QUICKEN 2007 which is now unuseable. How do I get rid of this update or the ARD application or otherwise solve this problem?
    Russell G
    iMac 24' 2007 OS/X Mavericks 10.9.5

That's not a thing that can happen.  Your problem with Quicken is unrelated to the Remote Desktop Client Update 3.8.2 v1.1.
There were several OS updates recently, which could have affected Quicken, though more likely its just something else that went wrong with Quicken that is causing the problem.
You should try to clear your Caches and Saved Application State folders in your user Library to see if it helps:
    1. Quit all open applications (especially Quicken)
    2. Click on Finder in your Dock
    3. Select the "Go" item in your Menu Bar and while it is open, hold the Option key on your keyboard
    4. Click on the "Library" option that appears in the list
    5. Finder will now display your user Library folder
    6. You will find both a folder for Caches and one for Saved Application State
    7. Open, select all contents, and trash all contents for both folders. DO NOT TRASH the folders themselves, only the contents.
    8. Immediately select the Apple Logo in the Menu Bar and log off or restart your computer.  When prompted, uncheck the "reopen windows when logging back in".
    9. Log back in after log off/reboot. Try loading Quicken.
If you are still having trouble, contact Quicken support: http://quicken.intuit.com/support/mac.jsp
