TA24640 Ordered movie rental on Apple TV and want to change and watch it on my computer.
The movie was taking forever to load on a wired network and the apple TV wired into the network. Netfilx works faster, they may not be in HD, but really you are APPLE. I could have rented the movie on cable PPV and it would have worked seamlessly.
Now I am on the computer while my wife is watching a cable PPV movie. Why The Face?
How can I watch the movie I ordered on my apple TV on my computer in iTunes without paying for it twice? I am on the same apple account.

Unfortunately, you can't watch the movie on your computer after ordering it on the Apple TV.
If the movie is slow to download, the first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
Netflix is adaptive, it lowers the quality to stream faster, iTunes guarantees a fixed quality, you are asking the impossible if you think Apple can make an HD movie stream as fast as a low quality one, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

You can purchase music using multiple accounts within the same Windows profile & using the same iTunes library. I think when you log into the store it remembers the last account name used, but provided you don't let it remember your password then you have the opportunity to enter the correct details for each purchase.
If you're going to place these purchases on your respective iPod's the following may help.

Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
etc.
I currently manage our family's five iPods using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their iPod. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

I'm relatively new to Mac and want to try and get the most out of the new MacBook Air.
My wife and I have been sharing the same Apple ID. We both have iPhones - she has a 5 and I've got a 4S.
We only have one copy of iTunes and we have been sharing the account. (She doesn't really use the computer for anything beyond writing the odd weekend assignment.)
Would I be better off setting her up with her own and making her as a separate user on the computer? Would this require much work?
In recent times with updates, we have a few problems with the duplication of texts and that sort of thing. Both of our texts are stored on the computer and that sort of thing. Also, sometimes texts I send her are sent through to me from her, if that makes any sense.
Anyway, I don't really want to overly complicate matters when it comes to accounts etc, but I wanted to know if a fresh Apple ID would be the best thing or even a new user?
Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated

I have this question too (0) ReplyYour question is almost too much a personal one, begging the question "do we (husband and wife) feel comfy sharing one account on the Mac" maybe thats why nobody answered you.
It doesnt complicate anything, but it adds steps for switching accounts on the Mac/ purchases etc. of course
since your question is mostly personal, ..I wont answer THAT part of it, but creating a new account is easy.....messing with switching back and forth is also a personal preference 'issue' as well. I prefer to keep things simple, but...........you and yours, I dont know.......

I have moved from the US to Norway, and want to change my apple ID to the Norwegian appstore. However, I am not allowed ot change from the US store before I use up my balance, which is 0.17 dollar. The problem is that nothing costs 0.17 dollar and I do no longer have an american visa card, only Norwegian. Is there any way I can erase the credit on my account so I can change the appstore country? Or osmething I can use this credit on? Thank you very much

Thanks for for that but what I'm trying to do is change the email that is my Apple ID from an @live.co.uk to an @icloud.com one. I originally set up my apple id before @icloud.com was around. In Manage your Apple ID it won't allow me to.

Yes - select the book and duplicate it (Command - D) in case of problems - open it and click change theme and select the theme and the new style of binding

Due to divorce, all my music is on my iTunes and iPod. I have had to buy a new laptop and want to transfer the library to the new computer before deauthorizing the old one. I dont want to have to use an external drive every time I want to listen to my music. How can I do this and have the same basic iTunes setup as before? HELP!
You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. I have a 2 yr old Iphone 4 and have not backed up or connected to Itunes up for 1 yr. I have new Windows 7 computer and want to connect and copy Itunes backed up folder from external HD (a year ago) to new computer and install new Itunes and new IOS. What steps should I take and what precautions? I don't want to lose any data on my phone such as music, photos, contacts, notes, texts etc, nor lose music from prior backed up Itune folder.
