I rented a movie on my apple computer but it wont play on my apple tv. never had problems till 1 month ago. internet fine, home sharing on.
The movie must fully download to iTunes.
If you have an AppleTV1, have you downloaded a 1080p movie rental as it can't handle that, in which case alter your Preferences for downloads to 720p, contact iTunes Store support and see if they can re-enable the download or refund so you can rent again at 720p.
If you have black model ATV2 or ATV3, then I assume you are looking under the Computers icon where a new Rentals row appears in order to play rentals downloaded to iTunes.

I have rented a movie on my apple TV, and would like to have it available on my computer to watch. How do i watch it on my computer without getting charged again?
You can't if your rented it on your Apple TV - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer. -

My apple tv main menu no longer displays the "movies" section, just internet, computers, and settings. Does anyone know why or how to get it to show again? Recently rented a movie directly through apple tv but can't see the "movies" section in main menu now. WiFi and home sharing are working.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
If you are still having problems try a restore. -
When first registering with iCloud at the Apple store I had to provide a non-Apple email. How do I now change that email on iCloud?
Your iCloud login is an Apple ID, and if you go to http://appleid.apple.com you can change the ID to another non-Apple email address that has never been associated with an Apple ID. You cannot change it to your @icloud.com address.

Well i have purchased some movies in my apple tv 3rd generation, but now its telling me that i do not have any purchases.....what should i do.
It seems the iPhone before the update was not officially unlocked from the carrier it is locked to. Which would mean it had been unlocked to use on your carriers sim by jailbreaking(hacking) or by using third party hardware.

My wife and I have an iphone each using one apple id. How do we stop phone contacts being deleted from one phone and then find it has been deleted from the other?
Also this works when one of us downloads an app it appears on the other iphoneYou need to use separate iCloud accounts. This will mean that you can both have your own separate contracts and calendars and put an end to them being deleted by each other.
Whether or not you have a separate iTunes account, is up to you. If you have a separate iTunes accounts you will not be able to access the music, books, apps that have been purchased by the other. This may be exactly what you want, but it also means that you both may end up purchasing the same item. -
I rented a movie via apple TV. Watched half of it last night, and trying to watch the rest of it tonight but itunes cant find it. It helpfully tells me I have already rented this item, but then wont find it. Ideas anyone????
when you rent a movie it gives you 30 days until you start watching it
once you start watching it, you have 24 hours to watch it so idealy your movie expired... -
OK I rented a movie to watch but I didn't want to watch it right away. It has downloaded and I have paid for it but when I go back to watch it I do not see where there is anything to click on like: WATCH RENTED MOVIES. does someone out there know what I have to do to get these movies to start playing? where do I go, what do I click on, where is the play button?
eyecu,
If it helps to clarify your original issue, an iTunes rental movie will remain on your computer for up to 30 days; that is - unless you click on it and start watching it. Then you would have a 24 hour window to watch it before it self-destructs.

I haven't had a chance to watch the rental shown for a few weeks - so that's why it will expire in 7 days.

I Have downloaded 2 movies to my iPad on an iTunes account but when I go to watch it, it says I'm not authorized.
I have read about some cases where movies rented or purchased on one device will not play on another device. Seems to happen mostly with Apple TV and iPads. One way some have worked around it is to cable from the downloaded device to a TV or Apple TV.
Were these movies purchased or rented from iTunes? Not sure, but that almost sounds like a iTunes Password problem. Maybe try checking that you're signed in as the same account that purchased the movies. -
I rented a movie on itunes on my Macbook Pro. It took off the fee for rental from my gift card balance but NO Movie! Where is it. Not in Library...
Did you let the rental fully download before trying to watch it.

Does anyone know why ??
The Apple TV only has limited storage space to begin with and that which it has is volatile storage. So if you do something else after downloading a movie, the movie will be overwritten or if you turn the Apple TV off the content in storage will be lost.
If you don't want to watch a rental immediately, you might want to consider renting it from iTunes on your mac/pc where it will be stored until its expiry date so you can play it as many times as you want without the need to re-download it. -
I tried to download an ap on my iPad but it told me it was too big too download and I'd need to connect to wi fi or to iTunes. I connected to iTunes and downloaded it onto there. I am now trying to synch the new aps onto my iPad and its not working. Can anyone suggest how to do it?
Hi MollyPhloot07,
I'm glad you found the coupons.com app and you might also want to take a look at the GroceryIQ app from the same company. Please note that at this time, printing is only support from iPad to HP wireless inkjet printer. That's most likely the reason why your Canon isn't displaying when attempting to print. The other way to go might be emailing the coupons you want to your email address, then open that email and print from a conventional desktop or laptop computer.
Hope this helps!
