Tab files to XML Structure

Hi All,
I have a scenrio where i would need to collect few tab files(without any pre-defined strcture) in a BPM .
As it is a tab file, the content is not moved to any xml node and hence i am not able to set any correlations on this node.
I would like to know if there is anyway by which i could moved the content of the tab file to a dummy xml node in a xml strcture.
If so, i can create one more xml node in the same xml strcture and use that for my correlations.Similary i would need to reconvert the xml file to a tab file to be sent to the receiver.
Thanks
Senthil

Hi,
You can collect the TAB files by using a Dummy correlation(1=1) in the same IP instance.
You can use the deadline branch inside the BPM to define the file collection duration.
For XML conversion you can follow a generic approach as specified in blog /people/ravikumar.allampallam/blog/2005/06/24/convert-any-flat-file-to-any-idoc-java-mapping

  • XSLT Mapping to convert u201C.CSVu201D file into XML Structure.

    Hi All,
    I wanted to know can we use XSLT Mapping to convert u201C.CSVu201D file into XML Structure.
    I am communicating between two XI Systems. First XI system is going to give u201C.CSVu201D file as main document. I need to post IDOC Corresponding to this. So what I want to do is read this u201C.CSVu201D file (Main document in payload) and first convet it into XML and then use second mapping which will convert XML to IDOC.
    I know this is possible with JAVA Mapping but just wanted to confirm can we do this with XSLT mapping as well?

    Hi Amit,
    I know this way it shd work as i am able see other XSLT files. But this particular file is not visible.
    I am copying following code only in sample.xslt file.

  • Mapping flat xml file to xml Structure

    Hi all,
    i have to map an xml file, wich is incoming via a RFC call in a flat import field, to a xml-Structure. The xml Structure has the same Structure except that it is not flat but even as a xml-Structure in the Repository. Ist ther a way to make a 1:1 - Mapping?
    Regards Mathias

    Hi,
    This can be done very easily using Java Mapping.
    Parse the flat xml String using Dom4j and directly set this as the target structure.
    eg code:
    public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out) throws StreamTransformationException{
    String flatXml = "the flat xml string";
    Document doc = DocumentHelper.parseText(flatXml) ;
    out.write(doc.asXML().getBytes());

  • How to convert Mail attachment file Tab Delimited file to XML.

    Hi PI Experts
        I have XI scenario: MAIL  XI SAP (ABAP Proxy), the process is
    1.     XI will receive tab delimited file as attachment in mail.
    2.     XI will convert the tab delimited file into XML, then map to the target structure.
    3.     Target will be posted into ECC through ABAP Proxy.
    Can anyone help me how can I convert the attachment file (i.e. Tab delimited file) to XML while configuring the sender side.
    Thanks in Advance

    I just grabed what I answered from another thread. It should work.
    Processing sequence as follows:
    1. localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean Local Enterprise Bean swap1
    2. localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean Local Enterprise Bean tran1
    3. sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean Local Enterprise Bean mail
    Module Configuration as follows: Fill the XXXX part with your info.
    swap1 swap.keyName payload-name
    swap1 swap.keyValue MailAttachment-1
    tran1 Transform.Class com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    tran1 Transform.ContentType ext/xml;charset=utf-8
    tran1 xml.conversionType SimplePlain2XML
    tran1 xml.documentName XXXXXXX_Mail
    tran1 xml.documentNamespace http://XXXXX.com.au/XXXX
    tran1 xml.fieldSeparator \t
    tran1 xml.processFieldNames fromConfiguration
    tran1 xml.structureTitle rows
    Once you set up the above configuration, you will get one record at a time.
    Create a souce message interface like the followings:
    XXXXXXXXX_Mail
    rows
    record
    Target message interface:
    XXXXXXXXX
    rows
    field 1
    field 2
    field 3
    Write a UDF function to remove the TAB space
    public removeTABSpace(String record,Container container){
    //write your code here
    StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(record,"\t",false);
    String t="";
    while (st.hasMoreElements()) t += st.nextElement();
    return t;
    Write another UDF to get the field 1 for example:
    public String getField1(String input,Container container){
    int counter=0;
    int beginIndex=0;
    int endIndex=0;
    int i;
    for (i=0;i<input.length();i++){
    if (input.charAt(i)==34){
    counter=counter+1;
    if (counter==1){
    beginIndex=i+1;
    counter=0;
    break;
    for (i=0;i<input.length();i++){
    if (input.charAt(i)==34){
    counter=counter+1;
    if (counter==2){
    endIndex=i;
    counter=0;
    break;
    input=input.substring(beginIndex,endIndex);
    return input;
    Get the mapping like the followings:
    record - removeTABSpace - getField1 - field 1
    If you need to get field 2, you will need to write another UDF similar to the above one to handle it.

  • Transforming XML File to abap structure

    Hello,
    I am working in a new project for making an input interface.

  • Convert IDOC XML structure to flat file - and now?

    Hi,
    we are working with input message ORDERS05 and want to convert it to flat file.
    So we used the implementation description from "how to convert an IDOC-XML structure to a flat file....".
    Looks like this is a standard procedure described here fitting for all IDOCs.
    We followed the guide, making XI ready for Abap-Mapping, implemented the Abap class like described, added an interface mapping with source ORDERS05 to a mess.type dummy destination, added with type Abap-class the class implemented from the guide and completed the Int.Dir. implementation.
    For comparism purpose we have two systems as receiver, one with a standard flat file with regular graph.mapping in XI, one with the Abap mapping.
    Result:
    Error description in SXMB_MONI:
    Didn´t expect something like that! The IDOC was delivered successfully to the other simple flat file receiver.
    Any idea what we made wrong (we are on SP17) or if there is a standard mistake you can do when following the guide?
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi,
    I've got the same problem. He the solution in my case:
    The problem is:
    My IDOC has no element <STDMES>, but the method IF_MAPPING~EXECUTE from the 'HOW-TO Guide' does not check this situation:
    el_element = idocument->find_from_name('STDMES').
    ls_edidc-stdmes = el_element->get_value().
    thows the exception.
    Solution:
    make shure that the field STDMESis set or change the method to:
    el_element = idocument->find_from_name('STDMES').
    if not el_element is initial.
        ls_edidc-stdmes = el_element->get_value().
    endif.
    Best regards

  • Flat File to simple XML structure in Mail Sender Adapter

    Hi,
    I have a scenario, where I want to put the content of a flat file (text, no csv or similar), which is an attachement of an e-mail, into a simple XML structure: entire file content as content of one XML tag. E.g.:
    file content:
    "abcdefgh"
    xml file:
    <root>
      <content>abcdefgh</content>
    </root>
    Do I need to use MessageTransformBean? Or is there an easiert way?
    Thanks,
    Torsten

    Hi Dirk,
    When we use MessageTransform, we can use ContentDisposition to specify, as to whether the payload has to go as an attachment or inline(as the mail itself.)
    It could also be a text file. Right?
    Just take a look at this..

    Hi  Meenakshi,
    Please let us know the Hierarchy of the structure to be created, is it one level only?
    Could you please explaing  what is the loop meant here?
    SEG_55(loop) 0..1
    SEG_55 0..9999
    SEG_60-70(loop) 1..1
    Please specify if there are any delimiters or what is the  file format at source.
    Or Try reading the whole content of the file then use a XSLT to create the desired structure, i think in XSLT you can easily try out the looping.

    Srinivas.

    thank you so much

    AIR doesn't support incremental updates. Any update package is a full install.

    Hi to all,
    How can i call different xml structures in single file..
    actually i am looking for 2 different menu galleries in single
    file.. first menu contains.. some 4 to 5 buttons.. done with this..
    in other flash file..having some of 4-5 buttons.. and these

    files in single main file and with different xml structure please
    help me on this.. thanks in advance.
    Best Regards
    Satish Kumar Rajula

    yes, you can use one xml instance with an if-statement, but
    it's easier and cleaner to use different xml instances and
    different parsing code for each xml file loaded that has different
    structure.

  • Problem in file content conversion, file 2 xml scenario

    Hi,
    Could some one help me in finding out the error in my file to xml scenario, please do consider the following things what I did for this scenario.
    1.My sender file structure is flat file with , seperated 4 fields. On receiver end expecting xml file.
    2.Did file content conversion at sender file adapter and given parameters as follows.
         Document name             : MT_FileInput
         DocumentnameSpace     : http://file/praveenworkshop
         Recordset Name             : DT_Record
         Recordset Structure        : DT_Row,*
         KeyfieldType                   : String( default)
        DT_Row.fieldnames          : FirstName,LastName,City,PostCode
        DT_Row.fieldSeparator      : ,
        DT_Row.processConfiguration: FromConfiguration
        Dt_Row.endSeparator       : 'nl'
    3. I did check in Adapter Monitor that Both Sender and receiver adapter are showing green and It was showing  'Adapter is up and running: But no messages processed'
    4. I did check the SXMB_MONI which was showing " Scheduled for Outbound processing"
    5. In SXMB_MONI outbound processing payload was picking up the file and also inbound processing showing the same.
    6. my source folder and destination folder are very simple c:/praveenfiles/input and c:/praveenfiles/output
        files are source file praveen.txt and destination file praveenOP.xml
    Please help me in finding out the error to see the output file in my output folder.
