Table borders reappear in BI template when file reopened

Hi,
Have come across a frustrating issue with a BI Publisher Template. Using BI Report Publisher, I am putting together a sales invoice which has a bank giro slip at the bottom of the document. Due to the format of the slip with contains a number of boxed fields, I have created a table and added borders around the cells that require a box. The remainder of the table and cell do not have any borders. The problem arises when I close and reopen the template (or download it from Oracle). Every cell in the table now magically has a border around it!!
I have seen something similar happen with another template with a rogue line appearing but not like this. This is occuring on two PC's but both have Word 2000 loaded.
Any help would be welcomed.
Cheers, David

i saw same moment from my coworker but for win7/32 and word 2007 (or may be 2010 don't remember )
then workaround was "elegant" =)
hi did template in .doc then saved it in .rtf
any change he did in .doc and then saved in .rtf
and so, as we had svn for code, then we had two working file - .doc (as base for changing) and .rtf (as result template for BIP)
we also didn't have no ideas about this problem and so didn't find any MOS or other solution only as above workaround
try it for your case
may be it will work for you too =)

You do NOT save formatting to a CLOB type column, hence the C lob (Character). If you want to save a Word style document to a column, then look at a Blob (Binary)..

  • Dashed Table borders do not render correctly when PDF created from MS word 2013

I have a defined format for many documents which have all been created in MS word 2007.  Never any problem creating PDFs of  these using ADOBE XI Pro.
Updated to MS 2013 and now when converting the same doc to PDF all dashed borders around tables render as solid lines. The only time they render correctly is if I PRINT to PDF.  Printing to PDF is not an option as I create batches of many documents at one time, so would be to time consuming.  This was an issue when i considered upgrading 2007 to 2010 a couple of years ago, so caused me to delay upgrade.. upgrade is now required.
I have a sample of a document if required.
    thanks

Just as a test, have you tried the MS plugin for PDF creation? I have found with other versions of WORD and Acrobat that PDF Maker and the MS plugin can both fill in dots and dashes on vector graphics (basically what the border is) and yet it comes out correctly with printing to the Adobe PDF printer. Unfortunately I do not have a solution. In my case, it seemed to be related to the vector graphic itself (I could import it to InkScape or other vector graphic tool and save to EMF and it then worked fine. It may be something that MS themselves have messed up in OFFICE 2013. Good luck.

  • Images shift in CS4 when file reopened

Recently been having a problem in Illustrator CS4 (MAC).
I'll design something, place JPG images in the design, use a clipping mask (seems to occur when one is used only) then save the file including linked images (embedded).
Next day, I reopen the file, and just the images... not the type or shapes... are all moved around on the screen.
I then move them back, resave the file overwriting the original and seems fine afterwards, but still a pain, and always paranoid something will get sent to print and when they open it the images are moved about.
Any ideas what may be causing this?
    Mac OSX 10.5.8

    4GB 800Mhz DDR2 memory
    Illustrator 14.0

    Images Shifting
Since you are embedding them or choosing include links, that rules out someone else may be editing those placed images. You can get type on a path that shifts in CS4 due to the next text engine and updating legacy text. The links palette >> placement options can cause images to shift, but I assume you have not used this.
Try resetting your illustrator preferences, and keep an eye on the dates on those placed images, and .ai files.
    Save As Groups
Does not happen to me, and have never seen this. Can we get a layers screenshot, as the naming/structure of these groups might help solve this.
Sorry to not have better solutions to both your posts, but unless you have some rogue actions that are assigned to keyboard command, your situation is quite unique.

Reports are not generated after 8.1.1.3 patch installtion.
we have also followed to below steps mentioned for this issue in oracle support.
"In order to resolve this behavior it is necessary to ensure that the 8.1.1.3 FixPack has been applied to the Siebel Tools installation. This will provide an additional .zip file in the REPPATCH folder of the Siebel Tools installation. Once this has been done please then follow the configuration steps as documented :

  • Poor Quality Table borders in PDF

    Hello.
I am having problems having the tables borders in Word 2007 look the same in the PDF (using Arobat 9 Pro). The quality is very poor which appears the lines are thicker than in the Word document. I am using 4000 DPI, High Quality print but still looks bad.   Images look good it is just the table borders that are the problem.  Do you have any suggestion in improving this? Or is this a problem I have to live with?

  • Retaining format of table borders of Help done in Robohelp 7 into RoboHelp 9

Does anyone know how to import or retain the properties of table borders/cells of a Compiled HTML Help Module that was generated in RoboHelp 7 into RoboHelp 9? I'm using RoboHelp 9 for my work and have to generate an HTML Help using RoboHelp 9. But the previous Help was generated in RoboHelp 7. When I have to generate the new Help in RoboHelp 9, this RoboHelp doesn't have the same properties of the table borders of the previous Help. Please help.

I'm still not sure about what you are using and were using in Rh7. Rh for Word has an HPJ file to open it, Rh HTML has an XPJ file. They are different from an HHP file which is also a Rh HTML file.
Both generate CHMs so once we are certain about that Rh HTML is what your Rh7 project was in, we can deal with the table problem.
If Rh for Word is what is in use, then it should not have changed. In Rh HTML tables are now CSS driven but your old ones should not have been affected. Let's cover that when we are certain of the version of Rh the project is in.

  • Adjusting table borders in DW

I must say this has been frustrating me greatly.
I've been trying to resructure the layout of a DW template to suit
my own web page. That has involved trying to change the sizes of
some of the tables and shifting them around the page a bit. I've
found that DW is VERY uncooperative with me, and if I adjust the
border of one table on the page it will move the border of other
tables all over the page, or sometimes it will just act like it's
locked in place and it won't move at all. Very stubborn. I fought
with a page for hours last night trying to get it to appear how I
wanted. In the end I had to change my idea of how I wanted it to
look because it just flat refused to do what I wanted. Are table
borders just uncooperative bastards, or is there a method I'm
    unaware of? Please help!!!

Web design is not like photoshop or any print/visual design
program. You can't just drag and drop
your layout elements. To do things right in Dreamweaver you
have to know a little bit about html and
css, and the less you know about them the more you should
look at your code and try to understand
    what it all means.
you are talking about dragging table or cells borders in
design view to adjust their sizes? Not a
    good idea to do that.
Tables are not meant to be dragged like that. You can either
define your tables width in pixels
(only the width, you CAN'T define the height of a table -you
just can't), or leave the dimensions
blank, so that they will naturally adjust their size
    according to their content.
The content of a table is what gives it its size. If you drag
the table's border in design view,
Dreamweaver will have to insert some code that will
supposedly define the sizes of the tables and
cells, but unreliably. The more you drag and push, the less
    the resulting code generated by
    Dreameaver will be reliable.
And yes, cells inside a table are a relative world, meaning
that if you adjust a cell border, all
    other cells will be affected.
    The key facts:
-dragging/pushing borders in design view is not a way to go
-you CAN define a table (or cell) width in pixels, but you
CANNOT define its height. (so it is
pointless the adjust their height visually in design view, it
    won't work)
-you will remain frustrated untill you learn html and css
basics (billions of tutorials online) -I
say html and css, not "Dreanweaver". Then, when you know some
basics, and go back to using
Dreamweaver, look at your code. Look at your code. Look at
    your code...

  • Table borders not showing

    http://www.ultimateautoshade.com/index2.html
has a table with rounded corners. This was accomplished using .jpg
images for each corner and .jpg images as background images for the
top, bottom and sides. Embedded in this table is another with
multiple rows and columns to house the text. The table appears
properly when viewed in DreamWeaver 8, however when I load it to
the server the table disappears. An example of what you should see
is at another site I built:
    http://www.morrisonvein.com.
Note the multiple round corner tables display properly there.
The images in question are tbl_XX.jpg in the code attached.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Try to tak ethe printout of the pdf preview .
you may see the table borders as some times grpahics wont load properly but you can see if you print the output.
If not you have to again design the whole template without using the old one then it will work.

  • Use a Excel template when saving a csv export

    Hi!
I wonder if it is possible to use an excel template when export data from a report to excel? If so, is there anyone who have an example how to do this?
    Regards
    /Ulf Jonsson

    Hi Ulf,
CSV is a generic standard for exchanging tabular data in flat files.
You can not pass any processing instructions through CSV, for formatting or dynamic behavior in Excel.
SYLK is a text-based interchange format for spreadsheets; it supports formulas, borders, fonts, point sizes, etc. SYLK is supported by Excel and other spreadsheet packages. SYLK is the RTF of spreadsheets. The problem with SYLK is that it is not well documented.
Maybe you need to look after a license of Oracle BI Publisher for your Apex environment to do more sophisticated publishing.
I have no experience with that.

  • Are table grids supposed to show up when you preview A dreamweaver document?

I made a table on a template in dreamweaver then when I went and previewed in broswer table table showed up on the page. I put rollover images in the table boxes so i think the table itself shouldn't of appeared when i previewed in broswer.

Unless you set the table borders to zero in the Properties tab, they will show.

  • Is a database table required for temporary interfaces with flat file data set source ?

Folks,  this is the situation I have in ODI 11.1.1.7
I have a temporary interface (yellow), called MJ_TEMP_INT,  that pulls data from TWO data sets in the source into a temporary target (TEMP_TARG). The catch is one data set pulls from a from a table whereas the other data set pulls from a flat file.  A union is done on the data sets.
I then create another interface, called MJ_INT, that uses the MJ_TEMP_INT as a source and the target is a real db. table called "REAL_TARGET"
    Two questions:
When I execute my second interface  (MJ_INT), I get a message "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" because it is looking for a real db table TEMP_TARG. Why must I have one ? because I am pulling from a flat file ?
On my second interface (MJ_INT) when I look at the property sheet of my source interface MJ_TEMP_INT (yellow), the checkbox next to "Use temporary interface as Derived table" is DISABLED.  Why ? Is is also because my temporary interface is pulling from a flat file ?
I have attached a file that shows a screen shot of my ODI studio.
By the way,  IF my temporary interface source has only one data set pulling from a db. table into a temporary target table, say called MJ_TEMP2_TARG,  and then when I use this temporary interface as a source to another other real db. target table (REAL2_TARGET),  THEN, every thing works.  ODI does not require me to have a real db. table MJ_TEMP2_TARG and the checkbox for "Use temporary interface as Derived table" is NOT DISABLED and my REAL2_TARGET table gets populated.
    Thank you in advance.
    M. Jamal.

    Thanks SH. I thought so.
Though I understand the reason to materialize the file in a staging area, but that almost defeats the purpose of having a temporary interface in this case if we have to save the data in a permanent db. table first.  I assume the db. table sticks around and is not automatically dropped once the interface executing ends.  If the db. table sticks around then I also must truncate it first before executing the temporary interface each time. Right ?

  • How do I save a messages in text, NOT template or file?

I want to be able to save an email from outlook, gmail, Hotmail, or any other format as a plain text or rich text message. Several of my emails are readable by TB24, but the only option for saving them is the Template or file. This is fine for those messages already in the mailbox, but if I can read an archived message in TB format, I should be able to save it in the same fashion. I guess a converter plugin is needed or a tutorial on how to properly save emails from other formats. Ex I open a folder containing an email from a past Outlook acct, The email can be deciphered by TB24, (ie it opens it), but when I try to save it to file(which gives options for format), it doesn't respond to my request!! Am I not doing something correctly or does the TB24 program "block" that function because of it is not in the TB24 mailbox? Baffling and frustrating when try to find a particular message from numerous formats. Thanks to all those who know more than I about this.

'''File|Save As|File''' then in the resulting dialogue, choose "text" file type when saving. Of course in doing so you lose all formatting and attachments.
How do you search and index messages when saved as independent and free-standing text files? I keep email correspondence within the email client specifically because the tools to manage and search are effective and efficient. In fact I occasionally email myself something that needs to be preserved simply because as email it is so easy and convenient to find and retrieve. Searching for text in documents in Windows has become a chore.
I'm not at all sure why you want to open email messages from other environments in Thunderbird, only to save them as text files. But have you tried "Edit As New" to see if that will offer other save options?
What format(s) are these other messages from outlook, gmail, windows live saved in then?
Don't forget simple old select all, copy and paste to save message content in any other document type.
