Table Interface - Overall Results Row

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to manipulate the contents of the Overall Results Row calculated by OLAP using a Table Interface?

Hi,
Go through this Help Document on Table Interface. U will get a clear idea.

  • How to display Average, not Sum, in the "Overall Result" row of a report?

Every report I look at or execute that has an Overall Result row always shows a total(sum) of all the cells in the column.  I recently came across one that shows the average of all the cells in the column and after looking at the query in BEx Query Designer 7.0 and BEx Analyzer 7.0 I cannot seem to find out where to set this.  All of the Key Figures are listed as "Nothing Defined" in the Calculations tab which is exactly what they should be, but where can I set that yellow-highlighted Overall Result row to calculate an average, not a sum?
Example can be found in this picture:
    http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6757/pic1yp.jpg
    Thanks for the help!

My issue was that I was setting my KF's to 'Calculate Result As: Average' within the Query View that I was editing but the change was not showing on my screen when I have that View opened within the Analyzer.  Infact, it still is showing totals.  But when I execute my Web Template that references this Query View, the graph does display the result row using Averages.  Seems to just be a visibility bug, but it is now working.
Thanks for the reminder about that property KP,

  • Overall Result Row is not the Sum of Individual Values!

I am frustrated with a weird problem.  I have an expense report in which Expense1 is shown a value of 8,126.  If I drilldown by company code, the sum of the company codes is 8,235, but the "Overall Result" row is showing 8,126.
I tried drilling down by GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers, material and even currency.  For all of these drilldowns the "Overall Result" row is 8,126 but the individual values sum out to be 8,235.
First I thought it could be "Zero Suppression" that is hiding some values from the display.  But "Zero Suppression" was not active at all.  I have checked the LISTCUBE and saw that the Expense1 should be 8,235 and not 8,126.  The key figure properties "Calculate Result As" and "Calculate Single Values As" are set to "Nothing Defined" and "Use Default Direction".  But still for some strange reason, the "Overall Result" row is different than the sum of individual rows.  It's driving me crazy as I have ran out of ideas to figure out what's happening.  Could someone help me with this?  I would appreciate any input with points!

    Hi,
Remove the 'Suppress Zero rows/columns' from the query definition and then check the values.
Column A might have value, but for the same row column B might have zero, hence the row was not shown in the result set, but the overall result will include all such values as well, even thought it was not shown in the result set.

  • Query with a condition - Overall results row is wrong

    Hello,
I have a query that uses a condition.  The query gives me the top 10 brands according to the Net Sales.  The query itself runs fine.  I just noticed however that the Overall Result row isn't giving me the correct number.
    For example:
    <b>BRAND            NETSALES    MARGIN %</b>
    Brand1           $100        25%
    Brand2           $60         10%
    Brand3           $20         15%
    <b>OVERALL RESULT   $210        2%</b>
As you can see it does not add up or average correctly.  This query has no macros or anything, it only uses a condition.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Nick

A workaround I have found is the manual directions in this OSS note: 572910
    Anyone have any follow up?
    Thanks.

  • Query with a condition - Overall results row displays incorrect value

    Hi All,
I have a bw query with top 40 conditions. However, The Overall Result Row Figures Do Not Equal The Sum of the Column Rows.
Although the top condition is activated, the overall result still displays the overall result of the whole report.
I have 3 columns in the report
    Selected Period
    Prior Period and
    Variance
The formula for variance is (Selected Period/Prior Period)-1.
Does anyone have an idea to fix this?
Thank you so much in advance.
    Have a great day!

    Hi Gaurav,
Thank you so much for your reply, however this does not solve fully the issue.
Changing the properties to "Summation" will indeed provide me with the correct sum for the "selected period" and "Prior Period." However what I need in the Overall Result Row for the "Variance" column is not the total but instead the value when the total of Selected Period is divided by Prior Period then minus 1.
Overall Variance = (Overall Selected Period/Overall Prior Period)-1
Do you know a way to make this possible.
    Thank you so much.

  • Problem in positioning of the Overall Result Row when using a hierarchy

    Hello All,
i've built a query on a hierarchy and i want the 'Overall Result' to be displayed at the bottom.
I've made the following setting in the Query Designer
    <b>Query Properties -> Display -> Results Position -> Bottom/Right</b>
but still, the 'Overall Result' is displayed at the top of the result rows.
Could some one please tell me if this is how the functionality is expected to work when a hierarchy is used for display ?
We are on BW3.1 SP 9
    Best Regards,
    Sanjay<b></b>

    Hi Roberto,
could you please let me know if the following analysis of mine is correct.
The Overall Result will be dispalyed at the top if the 'Position of Lower-Level Nodes' is set to 'Down'(default setting) in the Hierarchy Properties of
the characteristic. If the 'Overall Result' is required to be at the bottom then 'Position of Lower-Level Nodes' has to be set to 'Up'. It is not possible to display the Overall Result at the bottom with the 'Position of Lower-Level Nodes' set to 'Down'
Will greatly appreciate your help !

  • Overall results row - how not to show some columns

    Dear Experts
I have set results rows enabled at a certain characteristic level.
So, at the rows level, the results row is showing.
But at the right-hand-side results columns, some of the keyfigure columns should not be displayed , for example, price should not be summed.
How can this be achieved using a  query only?
    regards
    Pascal

    HI,
As i dont have your report layout based on my assumptions i understand that you have put one char in rows column above the strucutre and thats why you are getting result in rows and column as well.
Now you need to hide the column result which indeed seems no to me i tried same on my system but i can only make the value and result blank but cannot hide the complete result column.
Please correct me if my understanding is worng or your requirement in something differnent.
    Hope it helps.

  • RRI Interface from result rows

    Hi,
Is it possible to do RRI from result rows from a query.
    Thanks
    Jyothi

    Hi,
Are you running the report from the query or from the workbook? If you have changed the query and are stilll running the same workbook, sometimes these changes do not come through...Close the workbook and try to execute the query again. Does it still happen?

  • Web reporting -- Table interface --Sorting table

    Hi.
We want to display an extremely complex query in the Web, which returns about 40.000 rows.
Our users are however only interested in the fifteen 'Overall result'-rows of this query. Therefore we try to find a possibility to suppress all the 'normal' data rows.
I have an idea, where in the Table Interface would like to try to "mark" these 15 rows each with a unique number (from 1..15, in an added column in my table). I would then want to sort this table according to my new column, thus giving me a table that first displays these 15 rows. Now I can set in the WAD: Display the first 15 rows.
Is this achievable? Could anyone provide coding examples that could help me do this?
    Thank you,
    Jon

    Jon,
I do not think that would be possible. The table interface is something like a line by line interpreter which interprets the data coming and converts it to HTML.
Hence for you to be able to mark the result rows would mean that the whole query of 40,000 rows has to be rendered.
Another option is to use a prequery to retrieve the result rows , and if you display only the result rows of the query , will your purpose be satisfied ?

  • Result row on the top..

    Hi All
In my report the overall result row is displaying at the top of the report. In the result properies the result position is checked as below.
I used a hierarchy in this query.Even I checked root/totals appear below in the Hierarchy attributes in RSA1.Even i getting the same result.
    Please advise me on this...
    Thanks

    Hi Arun
We dont have any option in the display properties.

  • Result row won't summarize

    Hi all,
I have a report where I have column A, B, C and D. They all consists of formulas.
The problem is in the overall result row (or the top node in a hierarchy). For column A and B I want the result row to use the formulas and this works fine. But for column C and D I want the result row to use the summation function. I have tried setting the "Calculate result as..." to Summation but this does not make a difference. Any ideas why this isn't working? Or other settings I might try?
    Any suggestions will be appreciated!
    Thanks and regards,
    TMV

I have already tried this and it doesn't make a difference. When reading the following in SAP Help I get the impression that it is not possible to force summation when you have subsequent calculations. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/4d/af1dc766d5df44bfdb76f7e54d16e2/frameset.htm
Am I right? And does anyone know a workaround for this?

  • Formula on Overall result of another formulas

    Hi All
I need to create a formula based on overall result of another formulas.
Formula1->B27=Sum(B1:B26)-which is the Overall Result row
Formula2->F27=Sum(F1:F26)-which is the Overall Result row
    Formula3->C28=F27/B27
    C27 has Overall result row.
Formula 3 should be placed in the cell below the overall result column(C28).
I need some help creating Formula3 based on overall result values in cells B27 and F27 and placing it in C28 cell.
Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Hiding a row based on the the drill down via table interfaces

I have a requirement to hide a particular row (key field) of a table if a characterisitic (0PLANT) is included in the table.
I have managed to hide the key field via the table interface but need to know how I would see if the characteristic is drilled down (IE included in the table).
Initially I used CAPTION_CELL to establish whether 0PLANT was in the report but when I then removed 0PLANT from the report, CAPTION_CELL is not reprocessed and thus the report is incorrect.
What is the best way to establish what characteristics are included in any report.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi Neal,
why not using the service method get_state_infos.

  • Suppress Overall result (both rows and columns side and its data)

    Hello all,
I need to do some settings in BEx Query Designer, so that In BEx Analyzer, I don't see 'overall result' both on 'rows' and 'column' sides
This is what I have done so far
In 'rows' section, Properties of my KF (no. Products) then 'calculation' tab 'calculate result as'=Suppress result
This way in BEx Analyzer I don't see the FIGURES/DATA for 'Result' and 'overall result' BUT 'result' and 'overall result' still exist both on rows and colum side even if there are not figures in them.
Is there any property in BEx Designer so that I don't see 'overall result' at all
    Best regards
    Ahmad

    thanks for responding
selecting a characteristic, properties, Display tab, Result lines: Always Suppress
with this I don't see 'result'
but 'overall result' result exist both on 'rows' and 'column' side alongwith its data.
If I combine the above with this: selecting KF, properties, calucations, Calculate result as: Suppress result
    then
I don't see the data in 'overall result' BUT 'overall result' still exist both on rows and column sides
any setting so that 'overall result' completely vanishes
    Best regards

  • Supress Subtotal rows and display overall result of keyfigure

    Hello there,
Is there a procedure to hide result of a keyfigure at subtotal level and display result at overall result level?
    Please let me know.
    Points assured.

    Hi Daya,
Thanks for the reply. in the report i have other keyfigures also for which i need to show subtotals.
its only for 3 keyfigures i need to hide the subtotal result and show overall result.
when iam hiding the result rows of the key figure iam not getting the result in the overall result column as well.
i only want a result for overall result while supressing the subtotals for 3 keyfigures out of 10 keyfigures.
