Table maintainence in Production in ECC

Hello Gurus,
We have recently done an upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0. currently in UAT phase.
I have an issue in maintaining tables.
In pevious version i.e R3 4.6c even the client setting are " NO changes to repository and customizing objects" they are able to maintain some tables through some parameter transactions.
But in ECC , we are not able to maintain the tables.
Please let me know what settings needs to be done, for tables to be maaintainable in ECC.

Hi Saketh,
You need to get two things checked from an ABAPer/developer:
1 - Get the properties of the table checked(SE11) in both the versions(ECC and 4.6c).
For ECC6 - Check out the "Delivery and Maintenance" tab and check for the values of "Data Browser/Table View Maint". Ideally as per your requirement it should be " Display/Maintenance Allowed".
For 4.6C - There is flag of "Table Maintenance Allowed" in "Attributes"which I guess would be "checked" .
2 - Also check if the table maintenance view is generated in ECC and 4.6C.
Note: Compare above two points for production landscape only, i.e 4.6c production to ECC production.

Restriction for table maintainence

Hello Gurus,
I am working on a SLO project, where i had merged 5 source systems to one system.
In few roles in source systems for table maintainence the authorization groups is maintained as '*' in production.
In source systems if they maintain * they would be able to display/change the data related to that system only.
But now in target system , if we maintain * in authorization group they are able to display/change the data related to all the 5 systems.
This need to restricted, Please provide some pointers on how this can be done.
This restriction should be in such a way that they should be able to change data related to the system they belong to .

I hope you are progressing with your SLO task. Once you have finished this project, most things will be simple in comparison
Unfortunately your requirement is not a simple one
You could use line item auths (nasty to set up IMO). Have a search for info on auth object S_TABU_LIN
Alternatively you could introduce auth checks on key auth fields (e.g. BUKRS, WERKS etc) into the method that you use to display table data. This would likely require new transactions with validation code that is performed before data is displayed or limits what can be updated. Another messy approach would be to use parameter transactions that pass in an org unit into the table selection criteria. You would need one for each org unit so will likely not be practicable.
What I would say is that focus on what is legally required. If none of it is required by law then focus on getting the rest of your consolidation done first and then address this in partnership with your project development team.

Export table data from production to quality system - Oracle 10.2

I am trying to export a few table's data from our production system to the quality system.
Reason: To synchronize the table data between Production and Quality system
System info: SAP ECC 6.0 on Oracle 10.2 ; OS: Solaris
Description:
There are few standard SAP tables which hold the data of the various institutions of our client. Our requirement is to export the master data relevant for a particular institution from the production system to the quality system. We intend to use the Oracle Export and Import utility (Suggestions on the usage of which tool are welcome).
Constraints:
Lets say, there is a table NXXX in production system. This table contains the data for the institutions AA, BB, CC. I intend to export the data relevant to the institution AA from the table NXXX and import the data to the table NXXX in the Quality system.
Now I understand that the schema of these tables are different. In the production system, the schema would be SAP<Prod SID>.NXXX and in the quality system, the schema is SAP<Qas SID>.NXXX. I need your suggestions to overcome this constraint.

I do not think you can just export data in your scenario using the oracle imp/exp tool it's all or nothing...
as for the scema naming between QA/PROD you just need to use :
imp <dump file> fromuser=<PROD schema> touser=<QA schema> only thing you have to look out for is the mandt as it will not change.
I had something similar recently where I had to copy 14+ million rows from Prod to a Dev client without impacting on other clients data for this table in Dev.
So for data consistancy
1) I restored a copy of prod on a new LPAR and exported the table.
2) Created a dummy prod client using client '000' as a base.
3) imported the table using the syntax above enabling the change of schema
We have now a 14 + million rows in the dummy prod client on the new LPAR
Now on the Dev server
4) Created new client on dev as per point 2
5) SCC9 Remote client copy from the new LPAR using SAP_ALL
6) As I had 9+ million rows in the target client to get rid of I used delete_commit procedure as in metalink note 3777.1
This enable me to delete rows fast without caning the roll back segs.
7) using R3trans and a command file from the command line copied the single table into the target client.
I do not know if this is useful for you because your scenario is slighley different, but this is what I did for a whole table for a particular mandt.

Will values move if maintained in table maintainence sm30

hi,
i have one doubt , i have created a table maintainence sm30, and maintained some values, now if i moved it in to production, will values also move or i have to maintain values in productiona also,

It depends ,but most of the time we maintain data separately i mean system wise.
You can maintain values in production by using SM30 Transaction.
If your client needs transfer data from one system to other system,then you need to create transport request.

Downloading Pricing condition records for products from ECC to CRM

Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to download condition records for products from ECC to CRM. The Inputs available for me are Product Id or the material number and the Sales org data.Kindly let me know the step by step procedure that i should follow to download the condition records for the products.
Note: 1. The Products are already in the CRM system.
2. I have downloaded the adapter object "DNL_CUST_CNDALL" already.

First of check and ensure that if the records are already downloaded. To do so,
1) Log to ECC system and go to tcode V/06
2) From here select the condition type you are looking at. Dbl click on the condition type and note down the access seq.
3) Go to V/07. seelect the access seq you obtained in previous step and dbl click on "Accesses". Here you will come to know the condition table numbers. Note down the table numbers. (example: 002, 567)
Understand at this juncture that tables from 1-500 are SAP Standard tables and 501 - 999 are customer specific tables.
1) Log to CRM system and go to se16
2) Type CNCCRMPR002 or CNCCRMPR567 and Choose F4 from keyboard.
3) you should find an entry which looks like CNCCRMPRSAP002 or CNCCRMPRCUS567.
4) query the table with input parameters like Product or Sales Org. YOu should find the records.
If you fail in step 3, it means that the table itself has not come to CRM. For this do DNL_CUST_CNDALL with OPEN client (go to SCC4 and there Dbl clik on your client. There "NO CHANGES ALLOWED" should not have been selected. If it is so, consult your basis team and explain that DNL_CUST_CNDALL should be done on open client.(Repeat this even if you have already done that)
If you fail in step4, try downloading DNL_COND_A*** adapter Objects. *** stands for the ECC condition table captured from ECC (step3)
If you still are unable to find the record in the database table level, Check for the log in SLG1 tcode in CRM system. This gives you an idea of what's wrong.
Note: Even if you maintain conditions via Product master, ultimateley it gets stored in A* tables in ECC and CNCCRMPR* tables in CRM. So the above procedure holds good for whatever the case might be.

Table Maintainence generator Error Special Character '_' in generic key

Hello,
I have created a Table which contain 6 fields. All the fields of the table are primary key. The combined length of all the primary key is 163 characters. In the activation Log of the table we have a warning message which states "Key length > 120 (Restricted functionality)". Initially we are able maintain the entries using SM30. BUt now when we are making the entreis in the table an error message comes. The error is Special character "_" in generic key.and we are not able to save the entries.
I have deleted the table maintainence generator and have regenerated it. But the same error is coming.
Please provide your suggestion.

Creation of Table Maintainence Generator for Standard table

Hi,
I need to create a table maintainence generator for a standard SAP table.
The end user need have to delete certain entries from the table.
Is it viable to go for a table maintaninence generator or go for program which will delete the entry from the standard SAP table.
Which is the best method to go.

This delivers possibly wrong data in MCOD installations.
Depending on Oracle Version and Patchlevel dba_segments does not always have the correct data,
at any time esp. for indexes right after being rebuild parallel (Even in DB02 because it is using USER_SEGMENTS).
Takes a day to get the data back in line (never found out, who did the correction at night, could be RSCOLL00 ?).
Use above statement with "OWNER = " in WHERE for MCOD or connect as schema owner and use USER_SEGMENTS.
Use with
segment_name LIKE '<TABLE_NAME>%'
if you like to see the related indexes as well.
For partitioned objects, a join from dba_tables / dba_indexes to dba_tab_partitions/dba_ind_partitions to dba_segments
might be needed, esp. for hash partitioned tables, depending on how they have been created ( partition names SYS_xxxx).

Update customizing table on the production

Hi all,
Ik maked a customizing table on the development environment.
Evert time i need to update the data of this table , then i have to do it on the development and then tranport it to the production via a transport request.
Is it possible to change this (setting) table in the production, without using the transporting request ?
I changed the properties of the table from C (Customizing)
to A ( Application table), but it doenst help.
Anyone have a suggestion ?

Goto Development system-> again change settings from C to A,use database utility ->activate and adjust database.
now delete table maintaince and re create table maintaince,now transport your request to production,it should be fine now.

Drop down in Table Maintainence Gen

Hi all,
I'm facing a problem in table maintainence generator main view screen...i've got two fields in my db table and i've created search help for both the fields for drop down option for both the fields in main view screen.....but the first field shows up drop down option were in the other does'nt....i've changed the layout of the screen and lenght of the text element as well, even altered or changed the length of the view screen but its not working out....what i'm i suppose to do to get show up the drop down option for the other field too so as to make the the end user find the list of entries in the field..............any suggestion or changes would be really appreciated and correct answers would be surely rewarded....
Answer need urgenlty..........

Check whether in the attributes of the field, whether you have put the "Dropdown" value for your field as "Listbox" or "Listbox with key".
Also check whether you have referenced the field directly to the data element.
