TableForm using CommandLink as table - Form link

Hi all,
I have a page I've generated in JHS that uses a column of CommandLinks to get from the table to the form. I've done this before and never had any particular problem, but this time I'm seeing some very bizzarre behavior.
Here's what it is: If I do a query (using the page's advanced search region--same page) that returns multiple pages of rows, the links work fine. But if my query returns less than one page (anywhere from 1 up to the range size), clicking a details link causes the error message (or rather, an error message very much like--don't have the actual app in front of me right now):
Could not find row with key oracle.jbo.Key[ 23456]
Where 23456 is the key value of the row whose link I tried to follow. 4 instances of this error appear.
I've done a fair bit of experimenting, and it's definitely a matter of whether or not the query returns more rows than the range size. I'm not sure if this is a JHS problem or an ADF problem, but I've never seen anything like it before.
I have made some minor post-generation pages: in particular, I changed the "action" property of the links to call a method that will reroute the user under particular circumstances (having nothing whatever to do with the range size or the selected row). I did not make any changes to the "actionListener" property or the binding.
Any thoughts?

SO the problem had nothing to do with JHS at all--I'd forgot to setManageRowsByKey(true) in the SQL-only VO. Still not sure why this worked when more than one row was retrieved.

Do I have to this component or another to use it..??..or another property..??..

Help with the insert table/form tool in BIP 10.1.3.2.1

Hi, I'm trying to use the insert table/form tool in BIP, and running into some issues that I don't understand. First off, my data coming in looks like this (left column of tool):
Rowset
--- Row
------ Customer ID
------ Customer Name
------ Customer City
------ Product
------ Amount Sold
I would like the output to do the following:
a) have one page per customer. Customer should be determined by customer ID, and has attributes of customer ID, customer Name, Customer City
b) Show a table of all products and the total Amount Sold by product for that customer
c) Give a "grand total" for the customer
Can someone help with the steps needed to do this? I've tried several variations of the following without much luck:
1) Added Rowset and all children to the "Template" pane
2) Clicked on the "Row" group, and set Grouping = Customer ID, with a break of "New page per Element"
3) Clicked on the newly created (from step 2) Cust ID group, and set it to group by Product
4) Moved "amount sold" to be at same level as Product
5) Moved all of the customer attributes (name, address, etc.) to be at same level as Cust ID
6) On the Cust ID level, set the style to table
7) on row and rowset levels, set style to free form
This seems to be VERY close, except that it isn't creating a total amount for the sum of all products purchased by a customer. What do I need to do inside the tool to get a total per customer to show up?

To anyone else who sees this post, the answer is to do the following. Insert the Amount Sold field using the "Insert Field" tool, and set the function to sum, with the grouping checkbox turned on.

ORACLE EXPRESS: build a page with multiple forms linked to one table

im using oravle application express. APEX
i would like to build a page with multiple forms linked to one table (orders) , the page has 4 from each one with different order_id number (depending on filtering), and if the order is prepared click yes for each order and this 'YES' should be UPDATED AND SAVED to each order number in the same table with the press of one button.
i created all the form as (sql query)
and create one update process

i dont know really if i can do that, but it appear hat it actually saving according to order_id number , but not all the time some time it saved the value as "null".

I am no Apex expert, but with a situation as "complex" as yours, have you thought about creating a VIEW that joins these 7/8 tables, placing an INSTEAD OF trigger on that view to do all the business logic in the database, and base your application on the view?

Oracle portal forms, links, reports relation table

I have an oracle portal form.this is has been used by portal Link and this link has been used in portal report.
Present I know only portal Form name but no idea about which link uses and which report uses this link..
Is there any way I can find out the portal links and reports names based on form name which I know..Please help me with this..
I am under impression that, there may be some portal system table/view which will have dependcies of all the forms ,links and reports information...

Try running default Forms port WLS_FORMS_PORT that will be 9001
or check for the WLS_FORMS_PORT in the portlist.ini file.

This enables me to pull all the records from both tables but not specific to the logged user.
This is my problem. I would like the record to be pull is for the right user.
I am not sure if the the problem is to do with Session variable MM_UserName as I have no idea how to include it in the advanced recordset box but i am not sure there is no missing session start on this page. Your help or suggestion will be much appreciated.

Is it possible to add new columns with format "Text" once a table is linked to a form

Is it possible to add new columns with format "Text" once a table is linked to a form in Numbers for iPhone or is it impossible and thus a serious bug?(Rating stars and numeric vales seem to work.)
Those bugs happen both for new speadsheets as well as existing onces, like the demo. When you are in the form only the numeric keyboard shows up.
Pat from the Apple Store Rosenstrasse/Germany approved that it looks like a Bug during the Numbers Workshop I was in: It is not possible to add new columns with format "Text". I reported the error for Version 1.4 but there is no update nor do I get statement of understanding the issue.

I see what you are talking about now. Without knowing how the program actually works, I think this is what's going on:
When you add a new column to an already existing table (with already existing formats), the new cells come already formatted like the previous column. So when you add a column to the end of the demo table, the cells are already formatted like stars, and when you add a column to the beginning, they're already formatted like number.
I think this is why it's different when if you add columns to a table with blank (unformatted) columns. In that case, the new cells aren't already "tainted" with a set format, so you can change to text format without issue.
It seems like the problem is that you can't format cells that are already formatted as "number" as "text" format (even if it doesn't look like they are, because they are blank). IMO, this is a bug! This is why you don't see this issue when adding columns to a new table, because the new cells don't already come with a format.
To workaround, you can highlight the body cells after adding the new column, and delete the cells. This will "clear" the formatting, so you can then go in the inspector, format them as text, and the correct keyboard will pop up.

Nested tables are not supported in Forms 6i, only simple object tables.

Using commandLinks and commandButtons in dataTables

I'm trying to create a page that displays data from a database and allows you to edit individual rows by clicking on either a commandButton or a commandLink within a dataTable that then takes you to another page where you can edit that particular row of the table.
When using a commandButton, it works perfectly for all but the last entry in the table. But when the button in the last line is clicked, nothing happens at all, it does not seem to call the action listener and it does not perform the navigation based on the action. But with all the previous buttons it calls the actionListener and navigates perfectly. Can anyone tell me why this would be? The code is as follows:

When using commandLinks, only the first one works (of 4). For the other 3 the page goes into error when the link is clicked and it complains that 'document.forms._id2:3:_id10._id2:3:_id10:idcl is null or not an object'. If anyone could tell me what is wrong with my code, i would be most appreciative.

1) I have had very odd behavior in JSF when ALL of the
JSF elements on a page do not have an id attribute. If
you do not assign an id then JSF will manufacture a
unique id on the flag. Sometimes the unique id wasn't
so unique and there were errors like you are seeing or

events, or incorrect rendering, etc.

If you have an UDO in your form, or any other, the FormDataLoad eventhandler should be used.
Take care, it is not inside the eventhandler.
for VB:
Select SBO_APPLICATION in the classes, and select FormDataLoad event

I've gotten past this by creating the dblink as SHARED.
The SQL is
CREATE SHARED DATABASE LINK "yourlink"
CONNECT TO "dbuser" IDENTIFIED BY "dbuserpassword"
AUTHENTICATED BY "dbuser" IDENTIFIED BY "dbuserpassword"
USING 'databasename';
note the quote character use.
You can also use SQL Developer to adjust this.
This does depend on shared database connections between your db's.

Create mode in table-form layout

Hi
I use jheadstart 10.1.3.3.0.4157.
I have a group with table-form layout.
I want to enter to this page in create mode and then if user want, click on search button and go to table layout.
I use steven davelaar solution (Re: How to add enter-in-insert mode without post-generation steps
for our form layout pages and that works fine for form layout but it seams that it's not work for table-form layout.
Is there any solution to enter in create mode when we have table-form layout.
It's what I want:
1- 'A' page is table-form layout
2- user select 'A' page.
3- 'A' page must be open in create mode.
4- then if user want, he can click save button(or custom search button) to go to table layout of 'A' page and view records in grid view

Do you mean that if the user selects 'A' page, it will open the form page of the table-form layout in create mode?
If you would want to do that, you would have to change the 'action' of the menu tab that links to the 'A' table-form, and change it so it will load the form instead in create mode (similarly as the solution of steven, in the thread you mentioned).
Besides, if you want to go back to the table after the creation, you would have to have a special action method that will reroute the user to the table layout after a succesfull insert.
