Tables in Buzzword: header appearing on all pages, text in long columns disappearing,

Hello,
I prefer to use tables within a Buzzword document rather than in a free standing table document. My appolgies for the descriptions, I do not know the correct terminology for the document types so I am just making them up on the fly.
My tables are something of a mess. In Buzzword I can not find the menu to have the header repeated from page to page? Any guidance would be welcome.
In my long columns the text disappears between pages, such that the next row on the next page is not a continuation of the previous row but rather the next row? Any thoughts?

Thank you for posting to the Buzzword forum. I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but when you choose Insert > Header... in Buzzword, the information you choose to display at the top of each page will automatically repeat on every page; you also have the option to insert a different header on the first page of the document. Unfortunately, if you're referring to a header within the table, there isn't currently any way to automatically repeat that information from page to page. We are aware of demand for this feature, and will continue to work on it, with the goal of eventual implementation.
As to your other issue - the issue of disappearing text in a long column - that seems like it could use more specific attention; however, most Adobe employees are not here this week (in honor of the holiday), and so I'm afraid I must ask you to wait until next week for troubleshooting. Thank you very much for your patience! I will pass this bug along to the engineering team for inspection as soon as I can.

I have created a dynamic table in PDF, When I add rows, the table is spanning to next page, and I should get the header row in all pages. But, I am getting the header row only for the 2nd page(In Header row properties, I have choosed the header row to be displayed in all pages). I need the Header row to be displayed in all pages.

Try out with following step
Header Row -> Binding -> Select the check box
Repeat Row for each Data item (Min Count 1)

Crystal Reports 2008 Page Header needed on all pages.

I have Crystal Reports 2008.
In my report I need the Page Header and Page Footer to appear on all pages.
When I have over 50 detail records/lines the Page Header appears on only odd pages, the Page Footer is OK on all pages.
How do I change the Page Header to print on all pages in CR 2008?

This report has 4 levels of groupings and I am finding that group effects a lot.

You can conditionally suppress group headers.
Set the headers to repeat on each page, and then to have group header 2a only printed once while group header2b repeats on all pages then contionally suppress group header 2a with
inrepeatedgroupheader // suppresses repeated headers
Note you can also suppress a header the first time header is printed with
not(inrepeatedgroupheader) //suppresses the first time

My last post was just a "warning" to whomever else may stumble on this thread. It was more for posterity, if it helps you then great. If it helps others then great.
There are certain circumstances and unusual times where you'd need to do this. And I don't know of a way to automate it.
You can get 3rd Party Acrobat PDF plugins that will do it (my mind has gone blank on their names?)

BUT if you want to do this in Acrobat Pro
Add a Watermark under Document>Watermark>Add
Make sure the text covers all the space in the PDF where text could lie
Or you could use an image - say a full page black JPG or something
Set the Opacity to 0
the watermark will be added to all pages
Then Advanced>Flattener Preview
make sure Convert text to outlines is selected
Select the option for All Pages in Document
Click Appy
Flatten the PDF and all the text should convert under the flattening

Table overflow, only header row fits on page, avoid header

Hello together,
I encountered the following problem with adobe forms. The form consists of a table with a header row and (for sure) a data part. The table is encapsulated on a subform. If the table doesn't fit on one page, it breaks correctly to the next page (including header).
Because the table is not the onliest content of my page, it could happen that only the header row fits on the first page. So after the header, I get a page break. Is it possible to avoid the output of the table on first page, if only the header row will fit on it?
Currently it looks like this:
FIRST PAGE
bla bla bla bla
bla bla bla
HEADER
<-- page break -->
NEXT PAGE
HEADER
DATA

thanks for you help. I tried a lot with the "Keep with:" options the last couple of hours and now I double checked the flags.
I missed the flag "Keep with: NEXT" at table header level. Now it works as expected.
The table is part of a subform of type "flow". For the subform, I also checked the Keep with flag becasue the subform contains more than just the table.
Now, if only the header row fits on the first page, the whole subform starts at the next page. If the table needs much more space, it correctly breaks at the end of the next page.

Problem in header repeatition in all pages in print adobe forms

Hi all,
          Presntly I need to develop adobeform from abap with four different internal table data ( line items) and each having different header field values ( header details).And each internal table should display on different pages.
         When ever the internal table data overflows into second page , I have to repeat the particular header fields values also in the second page also which contains remaing item data from internal table.
          I have tried with overflow leader and masterpage but structed in below way.
     1) Overflow leader: When used this method, alignment of header subform in the second page is not in the same format as in the first page(improper alignment) and field values are not displaying on the second page.
    2) Master page: Using this method, I have created four different master pages which is having individual headers .For the first master page, first internal table , header is diaplaying in all the pages if data ia overfolowing to multiple pages. But second master page, header is displaying in first page but displaying with improper alignment in next pages.
   Please help me out this issue becoause it is very urjent and try for long time to solve the issue.

I have used the positioned layout as well as selected the repeat header for each data item also.
The texts(standrd texts) are repeating on every page. But the field data is not repeating on to the next page.

XML Publisher - Header appearing in alternate pages

Here are some of the common causes of your issue:
If it's a RTF template:
- Your data(or some of it) in the <body> is longer than the page setup - which results to another physical page but not logical page. You could check the main table properties if it's auto-expanding or put a limit on the number of lines a page can display.
- OR, check if you have check the "Different odd and even" headers and footers setup in the page setup
MS Word: File> Page Setup> (T) Layout> Headers and Footers

How do I get the book title and author to appear on all pages?

I'm trying to create a new layout, and I can't quite figure out some of the auto-text boxes.
I'd like the book title, and author to appear at the top of the pages.
Also, I'd like the chapter title to be at the top of the page for the subsequent chapter pages, but not in the same size as the chapter title at the beginning of the chapter.
I've tried copying the chapter text box in layouts, then applying it to the chapter pages. However, when I reformat the copied box for text size and orientation, the reformat effects all instances of that text box. Grr.
(I know this all sounds like too much text and garbage on each page, but it's for an instructional piece that people will likely print a page or two at a time)

Have you looked at the Layout Section.
If it is not visible pull down the handle and the master pages are there down the list for you to add and change.
Just first duplicate any page that you may want to change and then add the name and author titles to that page and press "APPLY"

Static footer and header pasted into all pages - the only way with JSF?

What are the known patterns to deal with the use case in the subject ? Every tutorial I've seen suggest to copy and paste the header and footer into different views. Even if it is only the include statement that is being copied, I would not want to do this. I would rather do a single page with the single footer and single header and dynamically include the dynamic view. However, to achieve this, it seems the only way is to hard code all of the possible include statements for the views at compile time, using an EL's if then. This is also not a lot of fun, if one has hundreds of different views to include. Also, using this approach one would basically have to give up the JSF's navigation, which is based on the name of the jsp file. And since there will be only one main jsp file the JSF navigation will be restricted to a single one page - many outcomes navigation node. Won't be able to do anything more complex than that. Bad too.
Any inputs would be appreciated.
p.s. I am new to JSF, but to call it an MVC framework seems to be a stretch: navigation should happen in the controller part not in the view - and that is what is happening by virtue of describing the navigation in terms of the raw jsp-files - the view. Can anybody argue with this?

Check out facelets, which adds useful templating and other nice features to JSF. You are still stuck with navigation-by-XML, which I agree is silly.

How do I get rid of the extra table of contents that appears following the Pages export to epub?

When I export my document to epub out of Pages and then open it in ibooks (or any other ereader for that matter) an extra table of contents with links to the document sections appears at the beginning. This toc has its own numbering system--with its numbers set in front of those I have assigned. This toc is ugly and superfluous and doesn't seem to have anything to do with the table of contents available in the dropdown menu used while actually reading the document. How do I get rid of this extra table of contents? I'm sure I must be missing something obvious, but I can't find a way to remove it. Thanks for any help with this problem.

Heading wraps to 2nd line, but why data of 2nd line heading appearing in next page

Hi,
Im generating a matrix report which has dynamic heading. When the heading extends the page, it wraps to next line(2nd line). But the data corresponding to the 2nd line of heading is being displayed in the next page.
I wanted a solution to display the data of the 2nd line heading to appear just underneath the 1st line data.

I'm assuming you only have one across repeating frame(?)
You will need to make the field that contains the heading in the across repeating frame large enough to contain the two rows you require.
Reports doesn't support expansion of the matrix column headings by default. If you have a definite requirement for the expansion to be dynamic (ie: push the matrix down), you can add another across repeating frame above the across repeating frame of the matrix and base it on the same across group. However, this can be tricky both to create and maintain.

CSS Header change on all pages - where do I go?

On our homepage http://www.rugged-cctv.com/ we have a blue header bar and a gray header bar. On the gray bar I changed the word Blog to say RuggedCams Blog.
If you go to any of our other pages the gray bar still just says blog. Here is a page where you can see it still says blog.

In the inspector, click the first icon, "Document.'
In that window, check 'Headers' and or 'Footers.'
Clicking in the area near the top (or bottom) will put the cursor in a box where you can create the page headers or footers.
Headers and Footers can appear:
On all pages,
All except the first page, and
Differently on right and left pages.
You can insert text boxes into the header and footer fields as well, and arrange fonts and alignments for each text box separately.
You can past images into the headers and footers. Drag the image into the page. Cut it. Click the header or footer box. Paste it. Resize it.

Cross tab column headers display on all pages

I made a Crystal Report with a cross tab which displays all details. In the cross tab I have 6 columns with details about the data displayed in the last 2 columns. The headers of these columns are only displayed on the first page but not on other pages. How can I add column headers to all pages? Thank you.

Column headings should be repeated automatically, row headings can be repeated by
1.right-clicking on the row header
2. select Row options
3. .select Repeat Labels on Page break
or, when I just reviewed it in the help section it says:
"When you create a Cross-Tab that is wider or longer than the specified page size, the program automatically spans the printing across enough pages to accommodate the size of the Cross-Tab. In the Preview tab, a line will appear at each page break. For ease in reading, column headings will be repeated on subsequent pages. Row headings can also be repeated using the Keep Columns Together option.
To repeat row labels
Right-click the blank top-left area of the Cross-Tab and select Cross-Tab Expert from the shortcut menu.
The Cross-Tab Expert appears.
Click the Customize Style tab.
Select the Repeat Row Labels check box, if desired.
Crystal Reports lets you designate report objects that don't expand horizontally, such as text objects, field objects, OLE objects, charts, maps, lines, boxes, and so on, to be repeated on each additional horizontal page that a Cross-Tab creates.
