Tablespace PSAPSR3 is already in backup status

Hi!
I have planed an ALL-ONLINE Backup from DB13.
What does it mean and how can I proceed to backuo these tablespaces?
Here is the error I am getting:
BR0328E Database file E:\ORACLE\DEV\SAPDATA1\SR3_1\SR3.DATA1 of tablespace PSAPSR3 is already in backup status
BR0328E Database file E:\ORACLE\DEV\SAPDATA1\SR3_2\SR3.DATA2 of tablespace PSAPSR3 is already in backup status
And second question:
<b>Which form should have the parameter stage_root_dir, if a do a backup from windows to unix via FTP?</b>
stage_root_dir=SAP/backup or
stage_root_dir=SAP\backup
Thank you very much
regards

  • ACS 5.4 backup status in syslog

    Have raised a TAC for this but thought I'd post here too.
    We are running ACS v5.4 Patch 1.
    We have noticed that ACS will not produce syslog messages about scheduled backups (success or failure)
    (1)    From the GUI, under “System Administration >  Configuration >  Log Configuration >  Remote Log Targets”, we have configured a remote syslog host.
    (2)    Then, each logging category under “System Administration > Configuration >  Log Configuration >  Logging Categories >  Global”, we have configured everything to log to the remote target.
    (3)    However, no messages regarding successful or failed backups ever arrive via syslog.
    Backup status can be checked by running “show backup history” from the CLI.
    However, syslog communication between ACSView and ACS show backup status OK.
    You can find backup information in ACS View under:
    Monitoring & Reports >  Reports >  Catalog >  ACS Instance > ACS Operations Audit
    We have one quite simple requirement – that ACS produces syslog messages stating backup success and failure.  This will drive our alarm system.
    Has anyone else got this to work?
    Pretty simple request - backup success/failure in syslog messages!
    Forcing the output of ade.log to syslog would also do it.  Would rather not hack around under the covers with root patch though.
    Cheers!

    Hi Rob,
    I was going through your requirement and that seems to be an important notification. If we look at the ACS 5.4 guide > under logging categories. It does talk about ACS operational changes—Logs all operations  requested by administrators, including promoting an ACS from your  deployment as the primary, requesting a full replication, performing  software downloads, doing a backup or restore, generating and restoring  PACs, and so on.
    Administrative and operational audit log messages are always sent to the  local store, and you can also send them to remote syslog server and  Monitoring and Reports server targets.
    Log messages are sent to the local store with this syslog message format:
    time stamp sequence_num msg_code msg_sev msg_class msg_text attr=value
    Log target and logging categories.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.4/user/guide/logging.html#wp1052656
    Since you've configured ACS logging categories to log everything. It should work fine. Can you see the same message success or failure under local store logs of ACS. If we can see it there it means ACS is sending it, after that we can check in the log forwarder file and run the packet capture on the syslog server.

  • Determinig backup status

    Hi all,
    Just a question with regards to RMAN. We call RMAN via a standard shell script, however, looking for advice on how to best determine if the backup was succesful or not.
    Is it enough to just check the exit status of RMAN, e.g. (simplified)
    rman target / @level0.rman
    if [ $? = 0 ]; then
    echo "Backup Succesful"
    else
    echo "Backup Failed"
    fi
    or is it advisable to, after the backup, check v$rman_status or similar to get a thorough picture of the backup status.
    Our RMAN script is similar to follows (note, not in a run statement)
    BACKUP INCREMENTAL LEVEL 0 DATABASE FILESPERSET 4
    PLUS ARCHIVELOG DELETE INPUT;
    sql 'ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE';
    sql "CREATE PFILE=''/somedir/spfile.backup'' FROM SPFILE";
    sql "ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE AS ''/somedir/controlfile.backup'' reuse";
    As it's not in a run, my concern is that, the BACKUP INCR. may fail, but if the following commands succeed, will RMAN return a 'good' exit code or 'error' exit code
    Thanks for your help.

    I have the same "simplified" exit code checking method setup as the original poster, but there are many errors that do not affect the overall status but are still reported as failure. For example, if one of the allocated channels fails during the backup, other channels pick up its workload and finish the backup, so the backup is valid, but my script reports failure anyway. Does anyone a good way to bypass those errors and report such backup run as success rather than failure?

  • Update backup status in DB6COCKPIT after a clone?

    Hi,
    we are implementing clone backups for a R/3 system running AIX/DB2.
    I wonder if it is possible to update the backup status in DB6COCKPIT after a clone, with either successful or unsuccessful runs?
    BR Morten

    Hi,
    I'll try to be a little more specific.
    We have a script initiating the clones from networker every second night.
    My wish is to be able to see result from the clone in the backup overview in DB6COCKPIT as we do today when networker back up the DB
    OK if RC=0
    Fail if RC>0
    Similar to this output you can find in the cockpit (I'm aware that I have to create the status text myself, but not how to put it there):
    Backup Timestamp    : 22.03.2007 12:41:52 (20070322124152)
    End Timestamp       : 22.03.2007 19:42:34 (20070322194234)
    Runtime             : 07:00:42
    Partition           : 0
    Backup Sequences    : 2
    Return Code         : 0
    Backup Type         : Online
    Backup Granularity  : Database
    Backup Device       : Other,A

  • Methods to report backup status of CUCM

    Is there any methods out there that allows the reporting of CUCM backup status via DRS.  I want to report on backup status (eg the backup history page in DRS).  I can't see any way of getting this info out apart from scraping the DRS Web page.  Checked the data dictionary for any tables that might contain job history but nothing is too obvious atm.
    I realise you can get the system to email out job failures/issues but there seems to be no way to email status whether it be success or failure.
    Cheers
    Nathan

    Hello Agathe,
    Would you mind telling me how you are getting the SNMP trap notifications for DRS? I'm in the same situation would like to know if there is a MIB/OID which can be checked. I know you can send the syslog message under alarm->drs and send to a remote syslog server. But would much rather be able to via SNMP to alert on failures.

    thanks,I've snipped out your email address in my reply. I suggest you do the same in your own post. That is unless you actually enjoy the offers to help move money out of Nigeria, and to purchase certain, umh, "enhancement" products. Putting your email address on a public forum does nothing but expose it to every spambot crawler on the planet.

  • Time Machine "Delete Backup" Status window

    Hey all,
    I am trying to delete an old backup inside Time Machine - did the old-fasioned way by "conjuring" the time machine with the stacked Finder windows on a starfield.
    I arrowed up to the oldest backup and on the Action (with the gear symbol) dropdown I selected "Delete Backup".  I get a confirmation prompt to "delete the selected backup" and I hit "Yes".  Then....  where is the "Delete Backup" status window?
    I know "delete backup" would take a while just like the backup process - however , at least we see the backup status on the Time Machine Preferences window.  It seems like the Time Machine Preference window only shows the backup status.  Could someone share how we could bring up the "Delete Backup" status window?
    Thanks!

    Unfortunately (or fortunately) the delete backup had completed by the time I saw this message
    I went back to the Time Machine starfield windows and I no longer see the oldest backup (I noted down the date of the oldest backup).
    Next time when I do another "delete backup"  I'll look for that "spinning gear at the bottom right" as you indicated.   I assume that is a "hovering" spinning gear that is separate from the desktop dock?   If you have a screenshot (its ok if you don't)  that would be great - thanks again for the reply.  This will help anyone who might be looking for the same answer as I am.

    If unlocked by ATT, then restore iPhone Firmware, this will complete the unlock. iTunes will give you large message box indicating the iPhone is Unlocked. If not unlocked after Restore of Firmware, then you must contact ATT since they are the only ones who can authorize a Real Factory unlock of this iPhone.
