Tabs in the workspace

I would like to be able to work on my pages so that I can
compare the codes of at least two pages if necessary. Now, my pages
are stuck in the TABs at the top of the Dreamweaver interface. How
can I change that so I can work with my pages two at a time or
three at a time and not be in those tabs?

Click on the middle icon in the right corner of the tab
gutter. It will
'undock' all of your documents so you can do this. To get the
tabs back,
just maximize one of these documents.

  • How to call javaScript function in the form from Action:Tab buttion in workspace

    Hi,
I want to trigger JavaScript function that I have written in form from Action: buttons in workspace user's account.
Is there any way that if i hit a button on action bar, it fire a javascript function.
Reason is: I dont want to place button on the form to perform any action on the form. I want to take control of the form from these buttons. Like submit, edit a form, etc, etc..
Please let me know if i couldnt explain it properly.
    regards
    Sunil

Sunil, you want to look at the "Customizing the LiveCycle® Workspace ES User Interface" document at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/customizeworkspaceui.pdf.  The workspace is a Flash component.  For ES4 there's an option to run the workspace in HTML5 which might be more productive long-term.

  • How Can I Move the Image in the Workspace to Align with 0 on the Ruler (CS5)?

I am completely new to Photoshop (CS5) so I don't know all the correct terms to explain my problem but I'll try.  I'm working on a computer with Windows 7.
I open a RAW image and edit it to my satisfaction, and then I "Open Image" in CS5 to do a little more with it, mainly crop it.  I have adjusted the rulers so zero is near the upper left corner.  I want the image's upper left corner to snap to the 0/0 ruler point on the screen.  I can't get the image to move at all.  I've tried Move, Hand. Select and Move, Snap To Guides, and everything else I can think of.  The reason I want to do this is so I can see the image when I have an Image Adjustment window open (Sharpen, Levels, etc.) -- all those "working" windows cover up the image and/or my panel on the right side of the screen.  An odd thing is that the horizontal ruler goes clear over to the right side of my screen, above the panel, and this places my image smack in the center of the screen instead of the center of the workspace (the screen minus the panel and the list of Tools).
Any suggestions would really be appreciated!   This is a very frustrating problem!

Sounds like what you want is Window > Arrange > Float in Window. This puts the image into a seperate, normal window, rather than the tabbed interface that Adobe has foisted on us (Float in Window used to be the default).
When viewed as normal windows, if you ALT + CTRL + plus or ALT + CTRL + minus, it will zoom in and out, expanding and contracting the window to fit.
For the Toolbar, if you drag it to the left of your screen, you can dock it to the left edge. When the toolbar is docked, other windows won't open underneath it.
Another handy shortcut when you find all your panels distracting is the H key, to show/hide the "Extras". Be sure to set it back to "Show" when you're done; it's all too easy to be wondering, "Why isn't my paintbrush working?", only to realize you have and active selection hidden.

I deployed the SaleQuoteLab application to the soa_server and able to login to the BPM workspace. But I am not seeing any tasks (orders) in the workspace. I've loaded the data to my local db. How can I see the BPM tasks in the workspace.
Please guide me to get the knowledge in BPM.

    Hi Ravi,
Thanks for providing the info. I tried implementing the Hello World example. But when I deploy the application, I am not seeing the HelloWorld Application link in the BPM workspace.
In the Deployment & testing section of the Helloworld example, it was mentioned as
Instantiate the process by clicking the HelloWorldProcess v1.0 link under Applications in the Tasks tab on the left side of the window.
Note: If the HelloWorldProcess v1.0 link does not appear in the Applications panel on the Tasks tab, click the Process Tracking tab. It should appear there. You can instantiate the process from that tab.
But I am not seeing the HelloWorldProcess either in Tasks or in Process Tracking tab.

  • Making Web Service calls from a Form in the WorkSpace

I am getting conflicting information about this, so I hope someone here could clarify it. TIA.
This is what I want to do:
after a form is displayed/launched in the WorkSpace,
when the user Tabs out of a field (Exit event) on the form,
I want to make a Web Service call from the form,
get the result from the WebService,
and use the Result to populate another field on the form.
I know for certain that this works if I Reader-Extend the form,
and I set the JavaScript at the Exit event (to execute WebService call)
    as "Run At Client".
    The question is:
can I make the WebService calls without Reader-Extending the form???
I have been told that, yes you can,
but *only if* you let the JavaScript "Run At Server".
I tried that, but it caused the Reader to crash.
    Some other people told me,
    no you can not,
even if you "Run At Server", the form still needs to be Reader-Extended,
when using it in the WorkSpace environment.
So, what is the truth? can someon tell me?
Can I make WebServers calls from the Server-side at all?
Do I really need to Reader-Extend the form even if calling it from server side?
What exactly is it SUPPOSED to work?
    thanks

yes, thank you both. I got the fix from Adobe Tech Support last week. It's working.
The fix I got included a rather complex looking "Submit Service" though. Makes me wonder how a regular user would know that he needs to write such a Submit Service?? and even if he knows that he needs a special Submit Service, would he know how to write it??? I found no documentation for this type of things either.
Shouldn't this solution be published somewhere in Adobe's website? Dev Lab perhaps?

  • Lighting effects not working, 'Could not apply the workspace because there is not enough memory (RAM)' with 4GB RAM?

Tried to use 'render/lighting effects' on 5 more or less new different laptops now. All kind of Window versions.
They all have at least 4GB RAM. The Graphic Card is compatible.
Layer to work on is RGB-Type.
It's all about Photoshop CC 2014, trial version.
When I go to 'Lighting effects' it says first:
'The 3D features require that 'Use Graphics Processor' is enabled in the Performance preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly.'
    - I switched the 'Use Graphics Processor' on and off and restarted new - nothing happens.
    - Video card is compatible.
    Second it says:
''Could not apply the workspace because there is not enough memory (RAM)'
    - RAM on all the computers I tested it with is at least 4GB
    Please help!

We would need to know the amount of Video ram you have. If it is above 512 MB, then check for driver updates.
    Windows OS
    Click Start.
On the Start menu, click Run.
In the Open box, type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), and then click OK.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click the Display tab.
On the Display tab, information about your graphics card is shown in the Device section. You can see the name of your card, as well as how much video memory it has.
Once you know the kind of graphics card you have, visit the manufacturer's website to download the latest driver. Here are links for downloading drivers from the most common graphics card manufacturers:

    AMD: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

  • How to add attachments in the workspace?

I have designed a process in which user will will initiate a task from the workspace. He will attach a file widin the workspace and next level user will view.this is working fine as i have created one process variable to stor the task attachments. My problem is that the second level user ie the assign task user is unable to add the attachment when the form comes to c his to do list.He is able to view the attachments added by the initial user.when the assign task user tries to add attachments the attachemnt list count is getting added but the attachments r not added. Can anyone tell me the solution?

    Hi,
You can add attachments to work item from workspace using  attachments.
If attachments tab is not visible in workspace you can modify your workflow to show attachments tab.
Follow these steps to enable attachments tab,
          1) Open your workflow definition and edit the properties for Assign Task step.
          2) Select Attachments and Notes section and check Show Attachment Window
          3) Map Output attachments field  to a  varible of type List ( sub type  documents ) to make added attachments from workspace available to workflow.

  • Pdf printing problem encountered in specific applications in the workspace.

    Hi,
I am experiencing this problem which i am not able to figure out.
After installing and configuring the BI publisher, for the newer applications i develop printing option works fine.
But for the applications which were already present in the workspace before installing BI Publisher, when I press the download button(which should branch to the url specified in the report query), it is directed to the specified url but the page is blank. I do not get any pdf attachment for downloading.
Could that be a problem in configuring the BI Publisher?
    Thanks.

    Hi Paulo ,
Following information might help you to resolve the issue.
An Acrobat PDF document generated from Web Intelligence XI Release 2 does not print correctly from some older Xerox printers. Some of the cells do not display the data that is there.
Business Objects 5.1.x uses the PDF v1.2 conversion engine. BusinessObjects XI Release 2 uses PDF v1.5. Therefore, the fonts are rendered as TrueType in the resulting PDF file. To confirm this, open the PDF in Acrobat Reader and click File > Document Properties > Font tab.
A PDF generated from BusinessObjects 5.1.x will have the font type as Type 1. A PDF generated from BusinessObjects XI Release 2 will have the font type as TrueType.
As per the product group, it states that this is by design, as there can be other regression issues for using the older PDF conversion engine and Type 1 fonts.
The printing problem has not been reported with newer printers.

    Sarbhjeet Kaur

  • Change the default arrangement of tabs in the Project Panel

With every new project, I'm having to manually re-arrange the tabs in the Project panel to suit my workflow.   Specifically, I'd like to permanenly change the tab order so that the "Good" tab is listed first, followed by Video Duration..etc.
    Can this be done ?

The Project Panel's Metadata Display dialog allows you to select which metadata properties are displayed as columns. You can save multiple Metadata Display profiles. Note, however, that these saved settings define only which columns are displayed.
The order of the columns is saved as part of the workspace. To save a custom workspace, set up all the panels, columns, etc. just the way you like, then go Window>Workspace>NewWorkspace.
With any workspace, if you change things around and want to get back to the saved settings, go Windows>Workspace>ResetCurrentWorkspace.
By the way, a minor point of terminology, in PPRO parlance "tab" usually refers to the top of the panel that you click to switch among panels in a frame. What you're asking about is columns. One reason that it's worth calling out this distinction is that workspaces save both the tab organization and the column organization.

  • Why do no tabs appear in Workspace when Approval Container is selected?

I have a process that needs to use the Approval Container UI and I'd like to add some attachments to the form but they don't show up when the user opens the task in the Workspace.  According to the Workspace Help at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/workspaceHelp/index.html?content=000014.html all I need to do is check the 'Show Attachments' check-box but if I also choose the Approval Container for the User Interface then no Attachments tab appears.  In fact, none of the tabs that used to appear at the top of the User Interface appear.  Is this a feature or a bug?
Rather, I should say, the tabs that appear above the form for the 'Default' user interface - when Attachments are allowed - are Task Details, Form, Audit, and Attachments (with a number of attachments in parentheses) and Save/Complete buttons appear on the bottom (if Reader Submit is selected).  For the Approval Container interface no tabs appear on the top and the buttons on the bottom include Document, Ownership, and the other custom paths defined.

  • Re: DW CC The usual choices for the Workspace Layout are missing. How can I restore them?

The usual choices for the Workspace Layout are missing. How can I restore them? The usual choices for the Workspace Layout are missing. How can I restore them?

The Insert panel has been reworked pretty significantly in DWCC (Spry has been dead for over a year now, so it no longer appears for instance), but can still be opened via Window > Insert then dragged to the toolbar location (to get the tabs back) by clicking and dragging the Insert tab up to the top of the application frame until it highlights. Once you drop it, it will then appear as a toolbar.
Not all of the tools will be visible at all times. DWCC knows when certain things can't technically be used and it won't display them if they can't be inserted.
EDIT: Oops, forgot to add this. Here is a link talking about what has changed in the Insert panel: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/changes-insert-options-creative-cloud.html

  • Subfolder in the Workspace ES?

    Hello,
I would like to ask if it is possible to customize the Workspace so I can create a sub-folder in the Start Process tab e.g. Divisions\IT, Divisions\HR, Divisions\MNT, etc? Can any one please advise.
    Thanks,

Regarding to my previous question, I meant a sub-category under Category Management in the AdminUI.

  • Easy configuration of the workspace

I'm sure this is already in the 700+ feature requests, but I can't find it!
I would like to be able to configure Lightroom in a very easy way to my desired workspace view. In particular:
    - I want to be able to specify the initial workspace configuration for Lightroom every time I start it. This includes being able to hide things like the Windows toolbar.
    - I want to be able to store a few other workspace configurations that I can select VERY easily, perhaps with a single key or mouse click. (I only need 2 or 3 or so).
I'm not asking for anything completely new. For example, if, (after starting Lightroom), I do "F" "F" "F5", I get a useful use of my screen space. I would like to be able to say "when Lightroom starts, please always act as though I have done "F" "F" "F5"".
(It might even be possible to override the last setting of (for example) Loupe versus Grid mode, but that is an optional extra, and not as important, so don't be inhibited by that suggestion).
Then it would be good to be able to set a key or button to say "now act as though I had done "X" "Y" "Z" after starting Lightroom". Or to save the current workspace configuration in a way that could be called up with a single key or button.
The workspace configuration features I am particularly interested in being able to configure in this way are those set by:
    - Tab
    - (perhaps) Shift Tab
    - F (or F F)
    - (perhaps) L (or L L)
    - F5
    - F6
    - F7
    - F8
    - T
So I am asking for rapid, even default, ways of triggering those effects.

Workspaces as in Photoshop/Bridge (i.e. physically reposition panels, etc) would require a rethink on how the UI is actually structured, which I don't think will happen. However, within the constraints of the existing structure I think Workspaces have been a long time objective.
    >I'm not asking for anything completely new. For example, if, (after starting Lightroom), I do "F" "F" "F5", I get a useful use of my screen space. I would like to be able to say "when Lightroom starts, please always act as though I have done "F" "F" "F5"".
Already supported, at least it is on the Mac
