Tabs overlap

While I am browsing i select between a lot of tabs and I do that quite often. My problem is that while I am changing tabs sometimes the tabs overlap. Meaning I have selected a tab but I still see the information from the previous one. Also when i move my mouse around the buggy tab the information from the old one disappears and it shows the information from the tab I have selected. This works only if my mouse moves over links or video.
You can see it in the image.
This is getting really annoying because i have to change multiple times to fix this.
How can I fix this?

Seems there is some problem with Firefox being lazy about repainting the screen, but I'm not sure what could cause that. Here are the next two levels of diagnostic analysis...
'''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should come with completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run) -- type or paste the following and press Enter:
firefox.exe -P
''Don't delete anything here.''
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like March16, and ignore the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
Does Firefox run more normally in the new profile?
If so, it sounds like a settings problem. If not, it could be corruption of Firefox's program files. See the "Clean Reinstall" section below.
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.
'''Clean Reinstall'''
(1) Download a fresh installer for Firefox 36.0.1 from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ to a convenient location. (Scroll down to your preferred language.)
(2) Exit out of Firefox.
(3) Rename the program folder
''(64-bit Windows folder names)''
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files (x86)\OldFirefox
''(32-bit Windows folder names)''
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
to
C:\Program Files\OldFirefox
(4) Run the installer you downloaded in #1. It should automatically connect to your existing settings.
When starting Firefox, you may need to use the profile manager to switch back to your regular profile if you didn't do that before.
Does Firefox run any better with the new program files?
Note: Some plugins may exist only in that OldFirefox folder. If something essential is missing, look in these folders:
* \OldFirefox\Plugins
* \OldFirefox\browser\plugins

  • What can I do about tabs overlapping each other?

    Like anyone else who uses TVTropes and/or Wikipedia, my web browsing experience can get to the point where I have a lot of tabs open. Like 30+. I have Tab Mix Plus set so that tabs condense themselves to fit the tab bar, but ever since Australis hit, the tabs overlap when this happens. Aside from this making it really difficult to select the correct tabe, generally what's covered up is the tab close button, so this is a SUPER annoyance. I had installed 24ESR but now that it's updated I guess I have no choice but to fix this or go to Pale Moon :|
    What can be done here? I have Classic Theme Restorer set to the old tab style, and STILL this happens. I don't want to have to deal with tab scrolling.

    '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
    If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
    *In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
    *In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on ''Help'' (or click on ''Help'' in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
    If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * On Mac: Hold the '''option''' key while starting Firefox.
    * On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run ''firefox -safe-mode'' <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
    When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>
    [[Image:Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win]]
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
    ''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    TabMix Plus and Custom Theme Restorer may not play well together, so you may want to troubleshoot for a conflict.

  • Group box in asset master record's tab overlap each other

    Hi Gurus,
    I was wondering anyone has seen the same issue that I'm experiencing. I'm on EHP6 and have logged the issue with SAP but wondering if you've faced the same problem.
    I basically designed a new tab layout with 2 tabs and assigned the following group box to the 1st tab
    S0001     General
    S0003     Time-Dependent Data
    S0002     Posting Information
    S0013     Equipment
    to the 2nd tab I only assigned
    S0009     Origin
    S0100     Depreciation Areas
    Then I assigned the new tab to the asset class.
    Now when I create the asset through AS01, the tab and group boxes appear however the time-dependent group box overlaps with posting information (please see below). Have you experienced the same issue in your environment?
    Thank you.

    Dear Minab,
    This is definitively the problem of overlapping of the layouts.
    The asset master data transactions AS01, AS02 and AS03 uses a generic tool to define the screen layout. Unfortunately there are some restrictions on that tool which are based on basis functionality.
    The problem is caused by compression and resizing (note 203023)
    Since Release Enterprise there are more fields on that screen in Release Enterprise than before.
    Hence, the problem is caused by the definition of your asset layout the solution in your case could be to move the screen to an own subscreen or to move this screen to the end of the tab.
    Please go the customizing (transaction SPRO) and follow these steps:
       Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Master Data -> Screen
       Layout -> Specify Tab Layout for Asset Master Record -> Define Tab
       Layout for Asset Master Data
    Select in your layout the relevant tab page.
    Here you may need to change positions and group boxes around. Unfortunately there's no other solution possible due to technical restrictions.
    best regards Bernhard

  • How can i fix the tab overlapping when i change the width of the url bar with #urlbar-container [focused]?

    I want to create for myself the most minimalistic browser experience as possible and i've put the most used features in the title bar. For purposes of space i had to fix the width of the url bar to a minimum and my intention is to increase it to a fixed width only when #urlbar-container [focused]. The problem is that #urlbar-container will overlap the existing tabs instead of shrinking their space, making it look really bad. It looks wonderful with #urlbar-container:hover, but i can't use that since whenever i want to refresh the wesbite using the button the width of the container will increase moving the button from the place i had the mouse in the first place to click it.
    Fixed width of the url bar when #urlbar-container is not focused:

    Fixed width of the url bar when #urlbar-container [focused]:
    http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/34/8o36.png
    This is the css i have for the url bar at the moment:
    <pre><nowiki>#urlbar-container {max-width:225px!important;}
    #urlbar-container {min-width:225px!important;}
    #urlbar-container {transition:0.7s!important;}
    #urlbar-container [focused] {max-width:500px!important;}
    #urlbar-container [focused] {min-width:500px!important;}
    #urlbar-container {transition:0.7s!important;}
    #urlbar {border-top-right-radius:10px!important}
    #urlbar {border-bottom-right-radius:10px!important}</nowiki></pre>

    What method (code) did you use to get the Tab bar displaying in the space used for the Navigation Toolbar (location bar)?
    The Tab bar should be displayed above the Navigation Toolbar.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Have upgrade for CS4 & CS5 Is "tab" & overlapping spaces fixed?

    I just started working with CS4 and haven't installed 5. I can't stand the new interface with the tabs. Unchecking the box to revert to floating windows doesn't work and everytime I open a file it reverts to tabs. Even when I've selected floating windows in the workflow, it needs to be reselected every time I load a new file to add to my project. Not to mention the new windows covering all the menu/tool/pref boxes.
    My question, is this fixed later in a 4 update or in 5?
    If not, can anyone refer me to a decent Mac photo editor that may lack some of photoshop's features but will work with layers and a few of the less powerful features? I'm asking this seriously. I'm ready to list my photoshop license (with a legit transfer) on ebay. Would like your opinion as to subsitutes on the Mac...even on Windows. I'd even switch to windows to be done with this mess Adobe has turned a great program into. I'm not a professional and don't need this hassel in my life.
    Please no flames. I'm not trying to start a war. Just thoughtful considerate replies?
    Thanks.

    Have you turned both relevant preferences off?
    Edit:

  • How do I get rid of a Google tab overlapping my task bar options.

    Their is a tab superimposed on my task bar. The type is obscuring the lettering of my task bar characters, as though someone put graffiti on it.
    Could this have something to do with it? How do I get rid of it?
    Thanks.

    Does it help if you place the tab bar at its original position?
    * View > Toolbars : [ ] Tabs on Top
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • How can I disable animated tab effects in Firefox 19.0?

    I updated Firefox a few days ago from 18.0.2 to 19.0 and now see that the tabs slide around when I drag to rearrange them or try to ppostion a tab over a bookmarks toolbar folder for bookmarking. The tab being dragged also gets transparent although I don't recall that happening previously unless it was moved over the browser window. Although I see reference to a similar animation problem for 17.0 I had no issues until the recent update.
    I have Tab Mix Plus installed but see no settings that have to do with tab animation. Browser.Tab.Animate in about:config is already to set to "false".
    This is annoying, useless and when I am trying to drag a tab across the tabs bar onto the bookmarks toolbar the tab will hang up in a "phantom" position at the point where it crosses the tab bar. How do I undo this or turn it off, short of adding yet another extension to deal with it (Tab Utilities)?

    Good, so I'm not crazy.
    I'm still having the same problem and it slows down my browsing experience considerably since I do a lot of drag-and-drop bookmarking. The browser hangs frequently after dragging a tab to a toolbar folder, then you have to wait for the tab to "fly back" to its original position.
    The same with rearranging tabs -- it has to be positioned _just so_ where it is being moved to or the move doesn't take and I have to do it again
    As you confirmed, this has nothing to do with browser.tabs.animate as mine is currently set to "false" and had been all along, even before this maddening behavior (including tab transparency when tabs overlap) became visible.
    I suspect there is a css edit or Greasemonkey script solution but have not have time to look anything up. I wasted enough time Googling this only to keep turning up the browser.tabs.animate "solution" over and over. It would be nice if there was at least some acknowledgement from other users or the usual problem solvers that this was not normal behavior before.

  • Spry Tab question

    I've got the use of the spry tab figured out, but what I'd like to know is if I can change the 'look' of the tabs.  Rather than just have them be plain ol' squares, I'd like to change the style of them (more than just the color).  Is it possible to change the shapes?  Or to specify a .jpg to use as the tab?
    Thanks!

    I appreciate all the feedback, but I have a few more questions...
    I want to do something like the example I've provided, but have two questions in that regard.
    The 1st - those tabs overlap.  Is their an easy way to accomplish that, as a newbie?  I don't know much, still learning.  Obviously it would be easier to create tabs that don't overlap and avoid this issue altogether, but I really like the look.
    My 2nd question is the drop shadow.  I can create the drop shadow in Photoshop, but I'm wondering if there's an easier way to do it in Dreamweaver.  Just apply the Spry Tab Menu and tell it to put a drop shadow behind it.  Is there something that easy, or do I need to create the drop shadow in Photoshop and use div tags to basically put it 'around' the spry tab menu?  Does that even make sense?  I know what I mean in my head, but might not be explaining it properly...

  • Spry Tabs; Tabs within tabs

    Hi,
    Not sure if i did this correctly, i have some tabs and
    inserted tabs inside the contents area of the spry tabs. Seems
    simple enough...but on preview it shows that inserted tabs overlap
    the tabs its in. I tried fixing it on the CSS file. but had no
    luck.
    any suggestions?
    thanks

    ....... Should i be asking this question on another board?

  • How to merge title bar and tab bar on Gnome desktop?

    Not exactly a Firefox issue, but if it works fine on Windows it should work on Gnome too...
    How can I merge title bar and tabs bar?
    In Windows if we hide the menu bar Firefox puts in a single line Firefox button, tabs and minimize, maximize and close buttons. But in Gnome it keeps the separated title bar (with the minimize, maximize and close buttons).
    Is there any way to really implement it on Gnome Desktop?

    I want to back up what was said here. Chrome and Chromium have done this for as long as I can remember and the Linux distribution is entirely irrelevant in this case (as in most cases). There is an option to use the "system title bar and borders" in Chrome. If applied Chrome will have that blocky, chunky effect of not having the tabs overlapping into the title bar that firefox has. By default chrome does not use the system-provided title bar and borders. They wrote their own. The result is it looks nice. I prefer firefox by miles over Chrome, but have to admit it is chunky and ugly around the edges by comparison.
    The problem is not that it is "not possible in Linux." As a dedicated Linux user, hearing that oft-repeated phrase gets really old. There is nothing about Linux that makes things not possible when it comes to coding features. What is going on is the shortcuts available to make the coding quick and easy may not already exist. Fewer people use Linux, fewer people develop for Linux, and there is often less existing code base already written for Linux to make a coding job quick and easy. Also, there is less incentive to write original code to make something work for Linux because we are relatively few; the countless minions using Windows are all complaining about other things and much more loudly so.
    There is no doubt the task could be accomplished--which I would love to see--but the developers have to prioritize. I get that. Just wish they'd be honest rather than use the lazy answer of "It can't be done on your system."

  • JTabbed Pane Problem

    I have this problem,i add the following 3 JPanels to the JTabbedPane but when i display the JTabbedPane in the GUI,the first tab is selected by default at the start,The 3 tabs overlap for some reason(you can see all the data form the 3 tabs behind the tab in front),If i select all the tabs then they go back to normal,is there anyway you know know to fix this.
         public setFieldNames()
              super();
              gb1 = new GridBagLayout();
              gbc = new GridBagConstraints();
              setLayout(gb1);
              mainHeadingSection = new createMainOptionPanel(this);
              otherOptionsSection = new createNextOptionPanel(this);
              prodVersionSection = new createProductVersionPanel(this);
              createExitInputAndSubmit();
              buttonSection.setLayout(gb1);
              createButtonSection();
              buttonSection.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(400,700));
              buttonSection.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(400,700));
              //buttonSection.setBackground(lightBlue);
              fileListSection.setLayout(gb1);
              createFileListSection();
              fileListSection.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(300,200));
              fileListSection.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(300,200));
              //fileListSection.setBackground(lightBlue1);
              theTabbedPanel = new JPanel();
    tabbedPane = new JTabbedPane(JTabbedPane.BOTTOM);
    tabbedPane.setSize(400,700);
    tabbedPane.addTab("Main Options", mainHeadingSection);
    tabbedPane.addTab("Options ", otherOptionsSection);
    tabbedPane.addTab(" Product Version ", prodVersionSection);
    theTabbedPanel.add(tabbedPane);
              theTabbedPanel.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(400,700));
              theTabbedPanel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(400,700));
              addComp(theTabbedPanel,                         this,gb1,gbc,0,1,1,1,1,1,gbc.NORTH);
              addComp(buttonSection,                         this,gb1,gbc,0,0,1,1,1,1,gbc.NORTH);
              tabbedPane.setSelectedIndex(0);
         }

    I guess the problem is that you explictly set a size for each tab, and the JTabbedPane. If you let a LayoutManager do this for you the JTabbedPane will automaticly choose a size for itself and the panels that you add, so that all the panels get an equal size, just large enough that all the panels completely overlap.
    So I guess you can just remove/comment out the lines where you set the minimum/preferred size for you panels and the tabbedpane.
    Don't forget to call pack() on the window/JFrame where you add your components

  • GTK theme, FF buttons problem

    Hello,
    I recently moved to Macchiato gtk theme, which is very nice. Sadly it has a problem with Firefox/Thunderbird buttons that I'm unable to fix. Explained by images:

    Hello,
    I recently moved to Macchiato gtk theme, which is very nice. Sadly it has a problem with Firefox/Thunderbird buttons that I'm unable to fix. Explained by images:
    no mouse over button:
    (if you look closer, you'll see that text is barely visible, but bg/fg colors are almost same)
    mouse over button:
    I tried playing with gtkrc, no luck. I'm using gtk-engine-murrine svn as of Feb 26.
    Help please.
    gtkrc for convenience

  • Minor JTabbbed Pane Problem

    I have this problem,i add the following 3 JPanels to the JTabbedPane but when i display the JTabbedPane in the GUI,the first tab is selected by default at the start,The 3 tabs overlap for some reason(you can see all the data form the 3 tabs behind the tab in front),If i select all the tabs then they go back to normal,is there anyway you know know to fix this.
    public void cretateJTabbedPane()
               JPanel theTabbedPanel = new JPanel();
               tabbedPane = new JTabbedPane(JTabbedPane.BOTTOM);
               tabbedPane.setSize(400,700);
               tabbedPane.addTab("Main Options", mainHeadingSection);
               tabbedPane.addTab("Options ", otherOptionsSection);
               tabbedPane.addTab(" Product Version ", prodVersionSection);
               theTabbedPanel.add(tabbedPane);
              theTabbedPanel.setMinimumSize(new Dimension(400,700));
              theTabbedPanel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(400,700));
         addComp(theTabbedPanel,this,gb1,gbc,0,1,1,1,1,1,gbc.NORTH);
         addComp(buttonSection,this,gb1,gbc,0,0,1,1,1,1,gbc.NORTH);
         tabbedPane.setSelectedIndex(0);
    }

    As stated in my comment, dragging the empty icons out of the toolbar and trashing them, then accessing the Toolbar customizing function, everything was returned to normal.

  • Under summary tab with device attached, text overlaps in window. How can I fix this?

    After launching itunes and I attach iphone4 via usb I select my device under the library. I select the summary tab at top of window and the blocks of info and options overlap each other. I can't select any otions. Cant expand blocks either. Uninstalled and reinstalled itunes windows 64bit twice but it still does it. contacted Apple Care but they are clueless. Can anyone help?

    I think that would have to be a setting in Chrome. That should control how new pages linked from other applications are treated.

  • I have 2 tabs open & they overlap. How do I get back to full screen each time I select a tab?

    2 browser sessions are open & overlapping. When I select a tab for a browser session I would like the tab that I select to open full screen

    Do you mean that one of the pages open in the sidebar at the left and another page in the regular browser window?
    Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
    You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).<br />
    In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
    Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the side bar" is not selected.
