TagAttributeInfo

Hi,
          I wrote my own tag library and put it all under the WEB-INF directory.
          It compiles fine but at run time I get the following stacktrace :

          From what I read, I guessed that TagAttributeInfo should be generated by
          the container (say weblogic). Is there a way to check if this class is
          well generated. Is there a configuration mistake ?
          It's with the 5.1
          Thanks

    Thanks,

    Hi!
    Can you tell us what version of JDeveloper you are using, and what steps you took to create the JSF page? Like, write from scratch or use the JSF page wizard?
    Also, can you check your project properties, and check that the JSF libraries are included, and JSF tag libraries set up?

  • Javahelp

    Hello, I am trying to use the serverhelp in javahelp 2.0. The following error occurs when trying to run the index.jsp page under the JavaHelpDemo context.
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
    I am using JBoss/tomcat 5.0 and deployed the javahelp using the ant command in the README file. I know this class exists in the javax.servlet.jar, but I believe the versions of TagAttributeInfo.class vary in the constructors depending on what version of Tomcat/JBoss's servlet/jsp jars are included. Any leads to the correct .jar file that contains the correct constructor arguments for the javahelp would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jay

    Hello again. Fixed my own problem, but there is a bug in the javahelp version 2.0 for serverhelp (jsp pages). I installed version 2.0 serverhelp on Tomcat 3.2 so I would be using the servlet.jar that contained the correct TagAttributeInfo class. The application runs as it should. The TagAttributeInfo class within Tomcat 4.1 and Tomcat 5.0's servlet-api.jar are the incorrect class definition for TagAttributeInfo and therefore the NoSuchMethod exception occurs.
    Be aware of this bug. Are there any plans or version updates to fix this?

  • Programming JSP using JDeveloper 10.1.3 and JSTL

    Hello,
    I new in JDeveloper. I am creating a web proyect and I am programming a JSP. This JSP includes JSTL 1.1 Core, exactly the next line:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c"%>
    When I compile my proyect, obtain the next error:
    Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
    I ensured that this class (javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo) has no that constructor (String, String, boolean) but when I consult the Sun documentation for that class, it is said that the class contain the constructor.
    My proyect include the next libraries defined in JDeveloper:
    · J2EE
    · JSTL 1.1
    · Strut Runtime
    · JSTL 1.1 tags
    Please, what should I do to do my proyect work?

    Constructor javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo (String, String, boolean)
    is not defined. The JSP 2.0 constructor is
    TagAttributeInfo(java.lang.String name,
    boolean required,
    java.lang.String type,
    boolean reqTime,
    boolean fragment)
    Another constructor is
    TagAttributeInfo(java.lang.String name,
    boolean required,
    java.lang.String type,
    boolean reqTime)

              The same problem is affecting me in a more serious way.
              I think the problem you are having is that somehow you have a Servlet-2.2.0.jar in your classpath at the time the JSP is being parsed.
              What is disturbing is that BEA claims WebLogic 5.1 supports JSP 1.1 Spec, but WebLogic "JspLexer" code tries to construct a javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo using (String, String). The JSP 1.1 Spec says the only constructor is (String, boolean, String, boolean).
              My question is: What version of the JSP Spec does WebLogic 5.1 actually support?

    Alright, I figured out the problem.
    We have WebLogic 8.1 as required web server. In order to create a Application Server connection inside JDeveloper, I copied weblogic.jar to jdev\lib\ext folder. After doing so, I successfully created AS connection, but started getting this NoSuchMethodError.
    Any hint on how to correctly use WebLogic while keep struts 1.1 work?

    All you need is the standard.jar and jstl.jar in your WEB-INF/lib directory (and maybe an XMLParser if you are using the <xml: tags).
    Anyway. That may not be your main problem. Make sure you are using the correct version of JSTL for you server.
    If you are using Tomcat 4, you need JSTL 1.0
    If you are using Tomcat 5, you need JSTL 1.1

  • Error when compiling JSF JSP

    I'm getting the following error when I try to compile an application containing a JSF JSP in JDeveloper 10.1.3. The error is:
    Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
    I've checked the files in the classpath and the TagAttributeInfo class is located in <install>/j2ee/home/lib/servlet.jar. I decompiled the class and it does have a constructor that takes (String, boolean, String, boolean, boolean).
    The only change I made between when things worked and now is that I tried to add a JSF JSP that used the ADF classes. But once I started getting this compilation error, I removed the ADF classes from the project, so they shouldn't be causing any problems anymore.
    Any ideas what's wrong?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    May be that your classpath doesn't include that location ?
    Have you tried to put the TagAttributeInfo.class file into your current folder
    (or may be in ..\<your_project>\Classes\.. path ) ?
    To check if your classpath does actually include your path, you could run:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252"%>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
    <title>Dummy JSP-CLASSPATH</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <%
    out.println("<h1><em>JSP Showing your CLASSPATH</h1></em>");
    out.println("<hr></hr><p>");
    out.println(System.getProperty("java.class.path"));
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    Hope this will help you.

  • Tag Library Error

    I am using Jdeveloper and BEA Weblogic 8.1 application server environment.
    I have custom tag and tld file for the tag. When I try to compile it , I am getting this error which just points to the begininng of the jsp file which uses the tag.
    Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
    I've tried searching online and found that it may be caused by the the wrong jar reference in classpath. I've tried adding whole bunch of different versions of servlet.jar to my classpath in the project properties but I am still getting the same error.
    Please advice
    Mikhail

    I've tried putting weblogic.jar into the web-inf/lib folder and also added library reference in the project properties but that did not fixed it.
    I still receive this error in all jsp files where I have a tag:
    Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagAttributeInfo.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;ZLjava/lang/String;ZZ)V
    Here's the content of my simple tld file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE taglib PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD JSP Tag Library 1.2//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-jsptaglibrary_1_2.dtd">

    <description>Application tag library for the BIMA Application</description>

    <rtexprvalue>true</rtexprvalue>
    <type>java.lang.String</type>
    </attribute>
    </tag>
    </taglib>
    This is how I refer to it in my jsp file:
    <%@ taglib uri="WEB-INF/BimaTags.tld" prefix="es" %>
    and in the page body:
    <es:navbar pageName="addUser" />
    Need an urgent help, thanks

    Have you compiled the taglib using the correct version of servlet.jar ?

  • Weblogic 5.1 SP 6 log rotation

    Hi all,
    I use Weblogic SP6 and, as there is a rotation with the access.log
    file, I would like to configure a log rotation for the weblogic.log
    file because it increases quickly. But, there seems to be no property
    to configure that.
    I tried to do it with system commands but this always makes with
    Weblogic server fail. Does anyone has already done that and how?
    Thanks in advance
    Fanny

    Hi there,
    I've managed to configure XSQL with Weblogic 5.1 SP6 and to run the demos from the Oracle site.
    My system configuration is :
    -Windows NT 4.0
    -Weblogic 5.1 SP 6
    -Oracle 8.1.7
    -Xalan version=2.0.1
    -Xerces version=1_3_1 (Support SAX2)
    CLASSPATH="${oradriver.lib}:${servlets.lib}:${jaxp.lib}:${xerces.lib}:${xalan.lib}:${xsql.lib}:${weblogic.home.dir}/lib/weblogic510sp${weblogic.sp.version}boot.jar:${weblogic.home. dir}/classes/boot"
    WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH="${jaxp.lib}:${xerces.lib}:${xalan.lib}:${xsql.lib}:${weblogic.lib}:${jdom.lib}:${oreilly.lib}:${jdriver.lib}:${build.classes.dir}"
    Now when trying to integrate my XSQL framework in the big picture of the webapp - I'm getting errors.
    the error is:
    =============================================
    <WebAppServletContext-ads> looking for taglib uri
    /tlds/taglib.tld as resource /WEB-INF/tlds/taglib.tld
    in Web Application root:

    at
    weblogic.servlet.jsp.StandardTagLib.processTag(StandardTagLib.java:280)
    =========================================
    If I remove from the classpath the servlets.lib(which contains servlets.jar) I'm able to access my webapp again but I cannot process the .xsql extensions.
    -the error from Weblogic appserver is:
    cannot find XSQLServletPageProcessor
    My question is that somebody has any ideea of what other type of servlet lib will be needed or if something else in the configuration files has to be modified?
    Thanks in advance,
