Hi,
You use the resource available in this link .. Taking SAP GUI screenshot automatically and send as attachment through mail programmatically . try to code this functionality in one program and call it from your background program. So once the background job is triggered this program gets called.

its not that i dont know how to take a screenshot its that whenever i try to it doesnt work at all. I have took lots of screenshots on this macbook before and didnt have a problem but now i cant take any at all. Please help me

The first step is to try this Microsoft fixit:

If that doesn't work we will have to try something more complicated. It is a could not open file error message from the installer.

Usually the Control key is required, instead of the Command key,
to save the screen shot to clipboard. What happens if you use
the correct sequence of keys to save to clipboard, then?
According to duane, in older discussion,  general keystroke/effects:
Command-Shift-3: Take a screenshot of the screen, and save it as a file on the desktop
Command-Shift-4, then select an area: Take a screenshot of an area and save it as a file on the desktop
Command-Shift-4, then space, then click a window: Take a screenshot of a window and save it as a file on the desktop

What is wrong with this maverick OS?

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

  • How do I make OS X automatically take a screenshot of a self dismissing system pop up?

I have been experiencing an intermittent system pop up message appear and then immediately disappear. I am concerned about what it is because it dismisses itself less than a second after appearance and I do not have a chance to read what it says. Therefore, I am trying to set up an applescript or whatever to automatically take a screenshot of every new window that opens so I can figure out what it is going on exactly. I'm hoping someone on here has an idea about how to help as Google has been very unhelpful thus far..

Does it occur when you do something specific or does it appear to be random?
If it occurs when you do something specific you could use Quicktime Player to start a screen recording, then trigger the action that causes the pop-up and stop the recording. You'll then be able to go frame by frame thru the recording to see what the pop-up says.
If it occurs randomly, you might try checking the System Log (using the Console app in the Utilities folder) for any clues druing the time the pop-up occurred.

  • Screencapture in terminal takes a screenshot, but can't save it to destination

Hi i'm trying simply to make terminal take a screenshot for me. I am using the following command:
    screencapture [/Users/karanerry/Documents/]
When i press enter after typing the above command in terminal, i hear the sound of a screenshot being taken, but the following error is displayed and i don't know where to look for the screenshot or whether it has even been saved:
screencapture: cannot write file to intended destination, [/Users/karanerry/Documents/]
Since i heard the sound of a screenshot being taken (the same sound that comes when i press ⌘⇧3 or ⌘⇧4 to take a screenshot), i presume that the screenshot has been taken. So where do i find it? Also, taking a screenshot by pressing ⌘⇧3 or ⌘⇧4 works fine, saving the screenshots to my Desktop.
I tried other variations of the command, but similar errors prop up:
    screencapture [/Users/karanerry/Documents/hello.png]
When i looked up help for this, some suggested that i should go to Disk Utility > Repair Permissions. I did that but the error was not resolved.
Does anyone know what's going wrong and what i can do to resolve this?

Did you actually put square brackets around the path?
    Try
    screencapture -t png ~/Documents/filename.png
You can provide the filename you like.  You can use -t jpg if you prefer JPEG vs PNG image format.  There are other file formats available.
The file you created most likely is either in the current working directory, or it created a directory path starting in the current working directory starting with open square bracked [Users, subdirectory under that of your username, subdirectory under that of Documents] with the closing square bracket.
Do not use the square brackets.  While they have a use, you are not using them in their magic form.

  • How do I take a screenshot? (PC or Mac)

QuestionHow do I take a screenshot? (PC or Mac)

    Question
How do I take a screenshot with a PC? (Scroll down for Mac instructions)
    Answer
If you are experiencing an issue at home that we can't recreate here at Tagged, we often ask that you send us a screenshot. We understand that just because it's not happening here doesn't mean it's not happening.
For instructions on how to take a screenshot using a Mac, please click here.
To take a screenshot using a PC follow these steps:
The three keys are 'PrntScn/SysRq', 'Scroll Lock', and 'Pause/Break'. The key 'PrtScn/SysRq' is the screenshot key (PrtScn=print screen)
You should pull up the page you wish to take a picture of then tap 'PrtSc/SysRq'. When you tap the key, it appears as if nothing has happened but when you tap that key it actually takes a picture of your screen and 'copies' it.
After tapping 'PrtScn/SysRq', you should open the program called 'Paint'. 'Paint' is automatically installed on all PCs, so if you do not know it then you can find it easily by searching your computer for 'Paint' (you can search for a program on your computer by clicking 'Start' then typing the name into the search box).
So now that you have Paint open and you have already tapped 'PrtSc/SysRq', simply push and hold 'Ctrl' then 'V'.
This will paste the image into Paint. From here you can label the screenshot (or do nothing).  To send us your screenshot, save the image and then attach it to the email or Contact Us form as you would any normal photo.

  • When I take a screenshot (command, shift, 4), I get an error: "you don't have permission to save files in the location where screenshots are stored". Help!

I used to be able to take screenshots just fine.
Now, when I try to take a screenshot (using command + shift + 4) I get an error stating that my screenshot cannot be saved, because I do not have permission to save where they are stored. HELP!

If not running Lion, please do this:
With the Finder active, press the following key combinations, in this order:
    Shift-Command-H
    Command-3
    Command-I
The Info window for your home folder will open. Click the lock icon to authenticate. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you should have read & write access. If not, make it so. Regardless of whether you made any changes, select "Apply to enclosed items" from the action (gear icon) menu.
    If running Lion, do this:
Boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities > Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press return. A “Reset Password” window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled “Select the user account” if not already selected.
Under “Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs”, click the “Reset” button.
Select Apple menu > Restart from the menu bar.

  • How do I take a screenshot? Alt + prt sc does not work nor anything else I've tried.

I have to take a screen shot for a course I am doing. The instructions I received were: Alt + print screen command. This does not work. Keeps reloading the home page. Also tried prt sc with the shift, control, and fn keys and nothing works. I have done a screen shot before but cannot remember how I did it. Rather desperate to figure this out. Any ideas?

You usually copy the screenshot to the clipboard and paste that image in an image editor program like Paint. Then you can save the image as a .jpg or .png file.

  • How to take a screenshot

A popular question that keeps coming back is how to take a screenshot.
How to do this can differ between models and firmware version but there are two different methods used in Xperia devices.
    1.
Press and hold the on/off button. This will bring up the options window you see below. Tap Take screenshot to capture your screen.
This can be done while in any application or menu of the phone.
    2.
Press and hold both on/off and volume down (-) key at the same time for about 2 seconds and the phone will take a screenshot of the present screen.
After you’ve taken a screenshot you’ll see this icon in the top left corner of your notification bar. (Goes for both method 1 and 2)
Drop down the notification bar and you will be able to instantly share your screenshot to any of your supported applications by pressing the share button.
All screenshots you’ve taken will be saved so you can view them later in the album application.

The lock button on my iPhone 5 no longer locks my phone, but takes a screenshot.  Any suggestions as to why and how to fix it?

Sounds like there's actually an issue with your Home button.  Screenshots happen when you press both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously.

My mac says it cannot type string everytime I take a screenshot, what can I do?

So you hold down the command and Shift keys and type the 3-key?
That is the default. Could you have re-assigned that key combination to some other function?
Does Command-Shift-4 give you a crosshair to drag across and select a screen area to capture?

  • How do I take a screenshot of the GDM?

    Basically you have two options.
    - You can use gdmthemetester to create a Xnest for you
    gdmthemetester <environment> <themename>
    gdmthemetester console Circles
You can find themes in /usr/share/gdm/themes
    - You can launch GDM, wait for it to load, switch to another VT (not 7), and then run this:
    chvt 7 ; sleep 5 ; XAUTHORITY=/var/gdm/:0.Xauth DISPLAY=:0.0 import -window
    root /tmp/gdm-shot.png
This will switch to VT 7, wait 5 seconds, establish the environmental variables and take a screenshot using imagemagick.
Oh yeah, you can use a search engine to find more information.  Try "how to take a screenshot of gdm".
Thanks, and I did search on Google and Ubunut Forums as well as here... I saw both ways you described, but wasn't sure about either of them because nobody really "explained" it, so I wasn't really sure of what it did.
Your explanation about using the tty really helped me, so thank you. I'm going to try it that way first.
And I always search for at least a day before I ask... plus, I had already found this page: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2127
... but it wasn't explained as good as you explained it.
