Task Email Customization

I start a task process with multiple people in parallel. I wait for FIRST response. At that time an email is sent to the others saying:
"One of your tasks was canceled and deleted. You do not need to take any further action on that task."
My users don't like the language and want me to modify it. Does anyone know if and how I can do this in Sharepoint 2013. I'm using SP Designer and not Visual Studio.

Hi Tom,
In SharePoint 2013 workflow, we can only customize Task creation email notification and Task Overdue email notification with Email Options under Start a Task Process wizard, but no OOB option for canceled or deleted email notification.
Please try using 2010 workflow and see if it can meet your requirement, there you could customize email notification in Change the behavior of a single task:

Here is just a though: Place the "EmailService" component from "Foundation" category in your process where you want to send the notification email, then go to its "Properties > Contents" to customize the email message.

BPEL with human using task forms (customization in task display).

All,
I have deployed a BPEL with human task with task forms (customization in task display).
For above customization Jdev automatically generates set of jsp files like Header1.jsp,Footer1.jsp,payload-body.jsp and <task name .jsp> and build an ear which includes war file.
I have deployed ear as j2ee app using em console.
It got deployed but when I check em console I could not see any active jsps listed.
due to this task customizations are not displayed properly.
but for same app in production instance, it is listing all jsp files in EM console
Any idea where I am missing

I got it.
If there are no active jsp/servlets listed means they are never invoked.
I invoked them explicitly then they started coming in the list

I am customizing Oracle WebCenter Task Flows through JDeveloper in customization mode, I am able to customize jsff pages but I can't customize any jspx page.
Please help me out how can I achieve this?

Customization usually is a challenge for developers. You can change look & feel and modify information showed.
Usually decompile and see how is printing the information can be a tip to add more information or call custom manage beans for add more functionalities.

Complete Task Email Setup

I have followed some of the other threads in the forum to setup the Complete Task email endpoint. This endpoint will handle the incoming offline PDF submissions.
However, I'm not sure what to put as the variable/literal values when I select 'invoke' within the email endpoint. The two values are: attachmentMap and mailFrom
Any ideas?

Sharepoint 2007 Workflow not sending out task emails.

Im currently having an issue with our sharpoint 2007 farm. This is currenlty affecting all site collections in the farm.
I have been troubleshooting this for this without any luck. The workflow get created and the person who created the workflow recieve a notification email indicating that the workflow has been created. The users that the workflow is assigned to however never
receive an email notification. This was working fine previoulsy.
1- I have checked the permissions.
2. Timer service is running.
3. Email server is up.
I have checked the event log on the sharepoint server and I cant find anything conclusive that can help me resolve this issue.
I would appreciate any advice on this issue. Thanks in advance.

Firstly, please check the setting of your task list, make sure that the E-mail Notification feature of the task list is enabled. Tasks-> Settings->Advanced Settings-> E-Mail Notification. Yes should be selected. You may also add a task manually
to confirm that it works.
Secondly, please check the outgoing e-mail setting first. You can set alert on a list to check whether SharePoint can communicate with the email server properly.
Thirdly, you may check the status of your workflow. Just by pointing to the item that is involved in the workflow, click the arrow that appears, and the workflows. If the workflow run failed, you should also check the History List and ULS log.
Fourthly, you may also restart the Windows SharePoint Services Outgoing Email service to find out the problem. Please open Central Administration -> Operation->Services on Server. Restart the Windows SharePoint Services Outgoing Email service.

InfoPath form opens in the browser instead of InfoPath Filler when a link is clicked from the Approval Task email

I have an admin approved InfoPath 2010 form that is web enabled. It is published to a SharePoint 2010 Forms library and an Approval Workflow is attached to it.
The form needs to open up in the InfoPath Filler with the Workflow Task bar at the top so users can approve the task from within the form and not go to Tasks list to do so.
Here's a problem I am experiencing: sometimes the form opens in InfoPath Filler and sometiems it opens in the browser when the link to approve the form is clicked form the email that is sent by the workflow.
Windows 7, IE 9, MS Office 2010:
The form opens up in InfoPath filler like it supposed to. The Workflow task bar is there for users to approve the form.
Surface Pro with Windows 8.1, IE 11 and MS Office 2013
The form opens up in the browser and there is no Workflow task bar at the top.
Things that I've already looked at and tried which didn't solve the issue:
- The forms library is exclusivly set to open documents/forms in the Client Application
- Set the browser compatibility mode in IE 11, that doesn't work too well, because you have to do it every time you open the browser.
- Setting browser compatility in IE 11 reintroduced another issue, of multiple login promts, which was fixed by entering the SharePoint site in question into the Trusted sites by a group policy. Adding the site to trusted sites made the forms open up in the
browser.
- Researched compatibility issues with InfoPath and Windows 8.1, cannot find anything.
- Researched compatibility issues with InfoPath 2010, Windows 8.1 and SharePoint 2010, also didn't find anything.
Can someone offer a suggestion on how to fix this problem, preferably with no code, because we are not allowed to put custom code on the server?
I need to force InfoPath form to open in InfoPath Filler when the link to the form is clicked from the Workflow email. Also the login prompts should not pop up. Need it to work on all the platforms: Windows 7, and Surface Pro Windows 8.1.

Click “Tools” -> “Fiddler Options”
Switch to HTTPS tab, then check “Capture HTTPS CONNECTs” and “Decrypt HTTPS traffic”.
6. Then repro the issue.
7. Click “File”->”Capture Traffic”, uncheck the Option “Capture Traffic” to make sure the “
” is not shown, that mean the logs has been stopped.
8. Click “File”->”Save” ->”All sessions”, save the file.

I tried customizing Discussion service taskflow customization .Repeatedly restart Jdeveloper by switching between roles and I got work done. More than customizing in coding,try to edit in structure window , that shows a good result.

Task email gets send as an attachment (in Soa suite 10.1.3.1)

I'm playing around with the new soa suite.
I'm implementing a human task. (by the way, GREAT improvement over the "old" one).
The email send bij the task is getting send as an attachment.Actually 2 attachments : "Message" and "Content".
If i send a notification mail, then it gets send OK.
I only configured the email server in the ns_emails.xml file.
Did i miss a setting or something ?

Change task email notificate date setting from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy

When a SharePoint 2013 workflow sends an email as part of Assign a Task, it sends the due date as mm/dd/yyyy. I need it to be the English format of dd/mm/yyyy. Does anyone know where I can change this setting?

I wonder if you have changed the Regional settings in Site Settings.
If I change the Regional settings, I can accomplish your requirement with these steps below:
Click gear icon, choose Site Settings.
Click Regional settings under Site Administrator section as the left part of the screenshot.
Create work follow as the right part of the screenshot(I create 4 types result).
You could refer to the result in the last part of the screenshot.

Tasks email notification...

When I create a task,the tracker and the person to whom the task is assigned should receive an email notification.
But the email is not generated.
Could someone please tell me what the problem could be?

I have done the following:
1.Workflow Engine Settings for Tasks or notifications:-
System Admin/ System Config / Workflow /Engine
2.Email Notificator Service:-
System Admin/ System Config / Knowledge Mgmt/ Content Management/ Utilities / Channel Originators
3.Email Channel SMTP configuration:-
Go to System Administration->System Configuration->Knowledge Management->Content Management-> Utilities -> Channels -> Email Channel
This works in Dev and QA.But does not work in production.
Could it be that the SMTP server might be accepting emails from Dev and QA and not from the production?

We are using NW04 SP12 patch 2 for both Portal & CM-COLL
When I create a task the assigner is the only one who can receives a notification email while the assignee does not know about the task assigned to himhow can I make every assignee knows about the task assigned to him?

I have set up subscription and email notifications for the approval process.
1) Emails are being triggered during Submitting documents for Approval, Approval and Publishing.
However no emails are being generated for document rejection. When a document is rejected, I believe an email should be sent to the approval initiator
can you please tell me what configurations I need to do?
2) In my portal, 'everybody' has Full control permission in the /etc/notifications folder.
In my portal, the Approver doesn't have the Delete permission in System Principals (i needed to do this for a separate test). Would this affect rejection emails?
3) Would I need to configure the SMTP server as mentioned in the 1st Help link you posted (navigate to > Defining When Notification E-Mails Are Sent) ?
In Content Mgmt > Global Services > Notificator Service, I have the channel as EMAIL, Originators as notificator.EMAIL, Inbox Channel as EMAIL.

autogenerated HTML inbup box name is slns0_cl_task_sl_ns0_cl_payload_sl_ns1_cl_bim_Myprocessname_myparametername..
is it possible to assign a value using this name ? is it correct way?

Because buid-in Oracle SOA procedures try to forward all parameters "object doesn't support this property error occurs..."
So question is ...

Email customization

I wanted to change the email wordings that is sent out of CoreId 7.0.4 during an approval of self registration workflow. We require to do this as the default email wordings are too cryptic and techi for general users.
Any idea how to do it ?

You need to create a custom email style sheet (XSL file). This should be put in the /identity/oblix/lang/en-us/style0/ directory. The format is WORKFLOWID_STEP#_Pre/PostNotify.xsl
The workflow looks for this everytime it runs, if it's there, it uses it. You'll see some defaults in the directory that you can modify if off of. I'm typing this off the top of my head. You can find more detailed info in the customization guide.

Human Task email notification and IMS

Hi Chaps,
I have a requirement to enable the email notification functionality embedded in Human Tasks. This email functionality presumably emails everyone for that role based on their email information located in Enterprise Manager -> Security -> my relam (?), however when I log into Business Process WorkSpace and try to edit the email address - it states that "Do not use this channel for BPEL User Notification or Human Workflow; it is not stored in the identify management system and will not work"
Does this mean that I have to directly alter the LDAP Directory (somehow?) or will logging into Enterprise Manager and changing it manually suffice?
Any help you could provide would be most welcome!

Also, if you are trying to send emails without using LDAP, then simply configure the email driver in */em and assign the roles to whom you want to send the email to.
