Tax Code determination in Purchase Order

Hi Dears,
Kindly ask you to advise me on the question below.
Scenario
There are two places where the tax code is maintained in the system and can be retrieved from in a PO: condition technique and purchasing contract.
Conditions for tax codes are always maintained.
Usually in there is no tax code maintained in the contract and the default one determined in a PO through conditions. But in some cases, when the code is different from the default and it's maintained in a contract.
Issue
As far as I understand according to SAP logic the tax code in a PO being found with sequence: system searches for tax code in a referenced contract, then through conditions. So if the code is maintained in both contract and conditions the system will choose the last one. And we need it vice versa since in such cases the actual one is in the contract.
Question
Is it possible to change this tax code search sequence with standard or we need to go for ABAP ?
Thanks a lot,
Anton

Hi,
As per standard when you have condition maintained with current validity in Tax code and in Contract.
The tax conditions will be transferred from condition records and not from contract.
As per your requirement if really want the tax code to be transferred from contract then you need to delete the conditions records.
So that the system proposes the tax code from contract in PO.
The Note which is suggested already explains the same.

  • Automatic Flow of Tax Code in the purchase order (Service)

    Dears,
My purpose is to populate the Tax Code automatically in the Service Purchase order (Account assignment U and Item Category D). The tax code in the purchase order is required for ERS.
If i maintain the tax code in the info record for a material, then the tax code is getting automatically flown from the Info record to the purchase order.
However, if I maintain the tax code in the info record for a service, then the tax code is not getting automatically flown from the Info record to the purchase order. Is there any other settings to be maintained to populate the tax code for the service purchase order?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramesha

    Hi,
The tax code in PO is at item level for stock material.
In your case you cant make it default as inforecord field is at service level(You cant make it default for every service specifications you create at item detail level)
Check the field info record in your service PO.
    Regards,
    Deepak.

  • Tax Code determination in Sales Order

    Hi Friends,
I have typical Business requirement.  For my client having a two systems - Legacy system & SAP ECC system.  Every time Sales Order is created in Legacy system and the same is replicated into SAP ECC.
During the replication, Tax code also derived from Legacy to SAP ECC.  If the Tax Code is coming from Legacy to SAP ECC, system should take Tax code of Legacy by overiding the Tax code determining in SAP ECC.
In short word, if Tax Code is deriving from Legacy, system should not derive the tax code from SAP ECC.
    Please help
    Regards
    Goutham

    Hi Goutham,
    Please follow the procedure.
    1. tax code convertion table is maintained in SAP ECC system.
example if A1 is the tax code in legacy system and Z1 is the tax code in SAP ECC system. maintain conversition table in SAP ECC system.
    2. if you want to use the same tax code in both system and display in the sales order, then first you have to add a tax code field in the VBAK table , second how the SAP ECC system recongnise the tax code logic you have to write in a receiving port of the idoc.

  • Tax Code for Import Purchase Order

    Hi Experts,
I have searched for this content but didn't match my requirements.
My client has asked to create new tax code which they will be using in their Import Purchase order.
Attached along the client's requirement.I haven't created tax code of this nature.
Please advise which condition types should be used to create this tax code.
    Kind regards,
    Pradeesh.P

Your client requirement is correct in the sense , they need to new  excise rates for one combination.
    import procurement works differently.
We use dummy tax code here and actual excises will be shown with pricining schema .
For all import procurement , one need to use a separate pricing Schema and all tax values are entired manually while creating PO or cdn records are maintained.
The excises are captured as CVD - Countervailing duties and separate registers are maintained in configuration.
please note - Most of the cases there will be 3 pricing schema - domestic, import ,STO
the import process is also slightly different.

Follow these steps for population of tax code in PO:
    1. In IMG go to Purchasing => Taxes => Set Tax Indicator for Material and copy standard configuration and rename it to appropriate country code.
    2. In IMG go to Purchasing => Conditions => Configure Condition Index =>  Change Condition Types.  Select NAVS condition and go for details option.  Select Access Sequence as 0003 (Tax Classification) and select Records for access option.  Select appropriate option for the country in Tax indicator for Material field and Select Validity date and Save.
    3. Next, use transaction MEK1 to go to condition table for assigning Key Combination.  Select NAVS condition type and select Key combination.  Select option u201CTaxes: Material, Plant and Originu201D and enter.  Enter values in required fields.
    4. Next validate the configuration by creating Material Master Record and a PO u2013 Select configured indicator in Purchasing view of Material Master Record (Tax indicator for Material field).  Create a PO for validation.

  • Tax code per item - Purchase order

    Hi,
I define Tax indicator for each material, also define tax conditions for purchasing, but still Tax code per item in PO / Item details / Invoice leaves blank. Any tip where to tide up tax determination for this. I was going through customization regarding, set up all tax indicators, chech all price determination processes under conditions. I cant see where I have to do something to populate tax code in PO per item.

    hi,
    1. if you maintained Purchase info record ( material and vendor combination), in that, in purchasing details, you maintained the Tax code,
    2. when ever you are creating PO, in the mateiral and vendor combination, In the PO you can see the tax code populated.
    hope this may help you,

  • Tax Code Mandatory in Purchase Order for specific Company Code / Country

We are doing Roll Outs of SAP into different countries.
In a particular Country / Company Code we want Tax Code to be mandatory in Purchase Order without disturbing the settings for other Country / Company Code.
Can anyone provide some idea to resolve this?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can create a seperate document type for that country and make it mandatory in the document specific screen varient
SPRO>MM>PUR>PO>DEFINE SCEEN LAYOUT AT DOCUMENT LEVEL>COPY NBF
Make tax code field mandatory and assign it to new document type for that country
Or user user exit or BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST

I am creating the PO on dated 01st April 2015.When i am change in current  pricing date in Pricing Control Tab , Tax rate can not be re determine in purchase order.
    please check the screen shot

    Hello Sachin,
Tax rate determination in PO is based on the PO document date and not on the price date.
You can test this, during PO creation, first you keep PO document date as '07.04.2015', system will show tax percentage as 12.36. Now, you change the PO document date to '22.04.2015', system will show tax percentage as 14.

  • Automatic tax code determination for service POs

    Hi
Can anyone tell  about the possibilities of automatic tax code determination for the service purchase orders.
    Thanks in advance
    Durai

The tax indicator is used in the automatic determination of the tax code
    in Purchasing.
The tax code can be determined automatically within the framework of tax
    determination (via the conditions).
Tax indicators, which can come from the service master record,
Customizing, or the purchasing document, are used in this process. The
system determines the tax code on the basis of the combination of these
    tax indicators.
Automatic determination of the tax code is useful, for example, if
different tax rates apply to different groups of services.

  • Tax Code Determination - default tax code for sales

Under the tax code determination window i have set the default tax code for sales as VAT@4% and I have save it.  but when I open the sales quotation , order or any other sales document the tax code is not appeared.  what could be the reason?
    thanks
    SV Reddy

Is ur "Determination Type" is 'Material Type'?
    FYI from Help file,
When you enter item information in the marketing documents, system will check the item master data. If the item classification for the tax is:
    Material Item
The tax code determination for material will start.
    Service Item
The tax code determination for service will start.
When you enter service information in the marketing documents, the tax code determination for service documents will start

  • Tax code determination using NAVS (ME21N)

Hi - We have managed to automate tax code determination in the PO line when posting via ME21N
We have a business scenario where some vendors in our German company code have the country (LFA1-LAND1) = CH in the master date(KNB1). However the VAT reg number for these vendors is German (Example: DE123456778)
The issue is we want to treat the purchases of goods/services from such vendors as 'domestic' (Import = 0) However during the PO creation the automatic tax determination is listing this as International (Import =2).
Has anyone come across this issue before? Is it possible to make any changes to the exit which determines the import indicator using T005-XGELD ?
    Amar

Hi, thank you for your replies.  Just to recap my issue :
In our German company code we have a vendor with country = 'CH' in the master data with VAT registration number DE1224323543 and supplies goods within Germany. However I investigated a bit further and would like to find out where the goods are dispatched from on the PO line. This brought me to the 'Import' tab on the PO line item under ORIGIN / DESTINATION / BUSINESS section. Where I see that the country of origin is listed as 'CH' instead of 'DE'
I am wondering if anyone knows how this field is populated ?

  • Output Message Determination for Purchase Order

    Hi all !
Can anybody please explain in brief, the procedure for Ouyput message determination for Purchase order. (including printer settings)
I have tried it throgh the Standard Configuration guide. but i am not able to do.
Please explain step by step including form attachment.
    Thanks in Advance !!!!

    Hi,
Customization steps for Output of Purchase Order
    1. Condition Table
SPRO > Material Management> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Condition Tables->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    Select:
    Purchasing Doc. Type,
    Purch. Organization,
    Vendor
    2. Access Sequences
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Access Sequences->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    3. Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Types->Define Message Type for Purchase Order
    4. Message Determination Schemas
    4.1. Message Determination Schemas
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Maintain Message Determination Schema
4.2. Assign Schema to Purchase Order
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Assign Schema to Purchase Order
    5. Partner Roles per Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control-> Partner Roles per Message Type ->Define Partner Role for Purchase Order
    6. Condition Record
    Navigation Path: SAP Menu-> Logistics -> Material Management -> Purchasing-> Master data->Messages-> Purchase Order-> MN04-> Create
Now you create PO (ME21N) and save it. Go to ME22N and print the PO by giving output type.
    Note1
Now Check in SPAD (Printer settings) settings & try to check the printer configuration. Check Device attributes, Access methods etc. are maintained in Spool Administration (SPAD) for the selected printer (your local Printer, may be ur using HP01or any but in SAP std is LP01) but consult with your basis consultant regarding above.
    Check the following also:
Spool generated using SP01 or SP02.
    Output device.
    Local printer settings.
    Paper Tray, Print Mode, Printer
    Note2:
    Check MN04 and NACE t.codes

  • Tax code determination when a PO is created from SRM

    Hi Experts
I am using extended classic SRM 7.0
When a PO is transferred to the SAP backend system, sometimes the TAX code is different from what was supplied in FM BBP_PO_INBOUND.
It looks like; tax code determination in backend system determines a different code and does not use the tax code supplied when PO is created.
Is there a way to override this tax determination in backend system so that it uses the Tax code supplied rather than determine a tax code that is different?
This seems to be a problem when a new PO is created because when I change the PO and this sent again, the backend system is updated correctly with the Tax code supplied from SRM.
I hope some has come across this type of situation and can suggest something.
    Regards

I put your HTML page (TEST2.html) and CSS file (body_new.css) on my server and it looks OK.
    http://www.ossiningdesignguild.com/TEST2.html
It's possible your web server is not properly configured and sends a Content-Type HTTP header that says text/plain instead of text/css for your style sheet file.
If you're using Apache, have your server admin check the httpd.conf file for MIME type settings.
Should they need assistance, send them here:
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/configuring.html
This is not a problem with your main site since the CSS is embedded, rather than remote.
    I'll call you after lunch.

  • Change of tax code determination

    Hello,
I want to change tax code determination when shipping to customers, where to setup this in SAP ?
    Regards.
    Zied.

    Hi,
Tax codes come from the Tax Condition records. The general tax condition type is MWST and when you set the condition records for this condition type, you just provide the Tax code. The sysem brings the tax percentage and GL account associated with this Tax code in to the sales document.
Tax codes are configured in the Trnsaction Code FTXP
