Tax Refund - AR Credit Memo with Tax Only set

Hi, Expert,
I am copying one AR Invoice to AR Credit memo, and check "Tax Only" field to handling the refund for Tax only case.
But I got an error message when I click "ADD":
"AR Credit Memo - Rows - Tax Only line cannot disable the tax only calculation in a AR Credit Memo documents that was based on another document..."
I don't quite get this message on "DIsable" wording... I am enabling the Tax Only but not disable !!??
Please help me solve it for my customer is waiting for this credit memo.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Michelle for Allen

Hi,
What this handling error message means is that the Tax-Only tickbox cannot be used as it was not used in the base document. The tax selection for deliveries, AR Invoices (or any document that creates a journal entry) must be consistent.
For example:
It is similar to creating a delivery with tax code A, then copying
the delivery to an invoice and trying to change the tax code to
code B, this is not possible.
It is not possible to create a target docuemnt without the tax-only tick box if the base document has it and vice versa.

  • Tax Rate Determination in Credit Memos With Ref to Invoices

The requirement in US is that when the customer has changed his address to a different region, from that where the services was supplied (The region in which the customer (ship-to party) was residing when the invoice was raised) and if a credit memo is raised with reference to this invoice, then the taxes applicable on the credit memo for this customer should be the rates applicable for the state where the original invoice was raised. However currently in SAP the new customer address is updated in the billing document (invoice that was raised for the region where the customer had his place of business previously) and hence the original region code in the invoice will not be available and will be overridden with new region code.
    Consider the following example:
1 - Invoice raised on 01-Jan-2010 to a customer whose region is Florida and tax rate is "X %"
2 - On 01-Feb-2010 the customer in Florida changes his place of business to Texas region.
3 - On 01-March-2010 a credit memo is raised with reference to the invoice dated 01-Jan-2010 u2013 On this credit memo the tax rate applicable will be of the region of Texas u2013 Example u201CY%u201D
The requirement is that in the credit memo the system should capture the original region code or there should be a provision to change the region code of the customer (ship-to party) at line item level u2013 so that the tax determined is applicable to the region where the customeru2019s place of business originally existed.
From our side we did check the SAP screen for Creation of contract/Order (VA41/VA01) u2013 However we were unable to find the customer region field in these screens at line item level.
We request you to please look into this at the earliest and let us know what the options that exist for this are.
Please also let us know should you require any clarifications with reference to the above requirement.
    Regards
    Siddharth Sridhar

    Hi Siddharth,
As for the region code that you mentioned, in fact yes, you can change during transaction creation, and Region is coming from the customer master record that you maintained.
You can find it at the Item level --> Partners, but you will not be able to change the Region there.
To change it, double click on the Sold-to Party at Header level, then select Sold-to Party --> Details.. Here you can change the Region accordingly.  It will reflect accordingly at the Item level --> Partners.
Note: This change will not change the central master data maintained for this customer. It will only affect this document.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • F110: how to pay an invoice with Withholding Tax and a credit memo?

    Hi All,
in my SAP I've defined a Withholding Tax type for Payment Posting.
I've posted a vendor invoice with with Withholding Tax.
Later I've posted a credit memo with Withholding Tax which must compensate the prevuois invoice.
When I launch t.code F110, SAP, in the right manner,  proposes to pay the invoice less the amount of the credit memo.
But the calculation of the Withholding Tax (that it should post al the payment time) is wrong: SAP proposes to post the amount of the Withholding Tax recorded in the table WITH_ITEM at the moment of the posting of the invoice. Instead, from it, SAP should detract the amount of the Withholding Tax recorded in the table WITH_ITEM at the moment of the posting of the credit memo.
Why does SAP doesn't consider the amount of the Withholding Tax of the credit memo?
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks

    Dear Rossi,
if You defined the WT TYPE at the payment time this means that the WT amount will be calculated at posted during the F110 run as per the invoice as per the credit memo.
If they are the same amounts and refer to the same wt type and code, when You run F110, they should match even for the WT calculation. It is clear that if You inserted manually the WT base amount or the WT amount into the invoice, the system will not do any automatic calculation but it will use these amounts that can be different from the one auto matically calculated by the system for the credit memo.
I hope this can help You.

  • Are any Credit Memo with only Values?

    Hi All,
I am using 2005A but I have not found a way to issue credit memo for an item with only value (not 'moving' quantity. This is helpful when a client obtains a sales target at the end of year get a credit memo as Sales Bonus.
    Any Idea?
    Is it solved in 2007?
    Best Regrds,
    Vangelis

    Vangelis,
You can do this 3 ways:
    1.  Create a A/R Credit Memo with a type of "Service."  This document allows you to choose a GL Account as the offset account and enter a total amount.
    2.  If you need to have a specific item used, but don't want to return it to stock, you'd need to do a Credit Memo, then do a Goods Issue to remove it form stock.
For certain companies that need to offer a Credit memo on an item, but one of them is damaged, they do a Credit Memo for the item and then issue it out of stock.
    3.  Create a Sales Only item used for the "Sales Bonus" you mentioned.  Then do a Credit Memo for the "Sales Bonus" item for the amount.  Quantity will not be an issue because the item is not an "Inventory Item".
    Hope this helps.

  • Credit Memo with reference to Sales Order

    Dear Friends,
I am trying to configure customization for the new billing document type (Credit Memo) with reference to an existing sales order, and i want the new billing type also to be listed in the billing due list when we create the invoices with transaction VF04.  Can you pl. advise me the parameters that need to be considered importantly in customization.  Or even a document link would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    BR,
    KP

    Hi,
In VF04 you can give different billing type.
So in that you can also add your newly created billing type to show in the billing due list.
If you want your sales order should consider your billing document only then do the setting in VOV8.
If you want to some thing else then please let us know clearly.
    Regards

  • Why need to link credit memo with invoice

    Hi, gurus,
I received an AP invoice valued $2222 and then received a credit memo valued $222 about 1 week later.
Now I need to make payment.
I was told it's good to link credit memo with invoice by entering invoice number in the field "invoice reference" when creating credit memo. But I'm not sure why it's better because system will pick up both items anyway when i entered $ 2000 using f-53 to make outgoing payment.
The only reason i can think of is this link will guarantee that credit memo has the same terms of payment with invoice.
Is there any other good reasons? Any help will be appreciated.

    Dear,
We need to link credit memo with invoice against for two obvious reasons
1.. Future tracking of all credit memo i-e if we gave excess credits to vendor then it was against which invoice. This will create linkage and tracking of credit memo with invoice that will be shown in FBL1N .
2..At the end of specific time period ,month or quarter ,its a normal practise to reconcile vendor balance as per SAP ledger to that of vendor's own book. At that time you will need credit memo track also that against which invoice was the credit given.
This all can be achived after posting credit memo with refrence to invoice number. Audit perpective should also be kept in mind. Hope this will help you

  • Create Credit memo with reference to billing in VF01

    Hi all:
I want to create a credit memo with direct reference to the original billing. Thus the creation of CMR is not required. This is the new feature as of release 4.5a. In SAP system, I've done the configuration for copying control from billing document to billing document, source (F2) target (G2). Copying requirement 027. Pos/neg qty = + and Pricing type = D. I can create a credit memo with reference to a billing now. However, the system allow multiple credit memos. Duplicate credit memo are unwanted in the system.
How to control the system to avoid duplicate credit memo?
    Thanks and regards,
    Sim

    Hi Mei,
       In t-code "VTFF" under your item category,the field VBRK/VBRP skuldn't be 001.
       Keep them as zero.
       Reward points if it helps.

  • Credit memo with reference to a sales order with reference to a contract?

    Hello All
Now I created a quantity contract and the customer paid the Amount that means the billing is done then I started creating sales orders with reference to the contract, can I create credit memos with reference to these sales orders?
    Regards
    Jacopo Francois

    Hi,
You can create a contract for a longer duartion say 1 year, andyou can create sales order in reference to your contract. This would be an ideal scenario in case of service materials.
You can now surely create credit memo's in reference to this sales order.
You will invoice the sales order first and create a credit memo request in reference to your sales invoice and then invoice the credit memo request to raise your credit memo for the customer.
    Reward if helpful.

  • Xml A/R Credit Memo with Payment

    Hi all,
i need to create a A/R Credit Memo with payment linked to. I'm creating the credit memo ok, without problem, but the questions is... How create the payment? In the same xml? Or I create first the credit memo and payments follows?  Some idea?
    Grateful,
    Leo Azvdo.

    Hello
You post the CM then you have to receive the CM key to post the payment. This is the system habit, you need to use 2 files:
    1. for CM
    2. payment

  • Due date calculation for the credit memo with invoice reference.

    Hi,
When we create the credit memo with reference to invoice, the due date for the credit memo is getting copied from Invoice. In this case if the invoice is due on 31.12.2008 and the credit memo is created on 10.09.2009, then the credit memo due date is appearing as 31.12.2008. It should be 10.09.2009 as per the setting in VOFA billing type customisation in "Credit Memo w/vldt".
I would like to know how to customise the below requirement.
If the reference invoice is due after the credit memo creation, the the credit memo should due as per the invoice date.
If the invoice due is past & then the credit memo due date should be Immediate i.e. Due Immediately.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Regards,
    Nithin

I doubt there is such option. From the past projects I do remember that we made a change in the form to print the document date as 'Due Date' for credit memos. Credit memos were paid at once when they were processed and I think that payment term was copied from the original invoice, which made their due date far in future.

you can repeat this process as many time as you wish.  the items of the referenced documents will be copied into your Sales Document.

  • Credit memo with value date

    Hello Gurus,
for field " Credit memo with value date" in billing document,  field VALDT (fixed value date) in the credit memo request is filled with the payment deadline baseline date of the base billing document. where is that payment deadline baseline date of the base billing document ?
    Many thanks,
    Frank Zhang

    Hi
That pament date is the date of line item comes due for payment. Billing date+Pament terms= Due date.
This field is helpful for the following scenario,
You have sent an invoice on 01.08.08 and the pament due date is one month. Due on 01.09.08. This is calculated from the pament term. Now the customer rejected some ofthe material and sending you back as sales returns. Now you are creating a credit note on 04.08.08 and post it to accounting. If the due date of the original invoice is not taken for consdered then you are paying the customer who has not yet pay you for the original invoice. To avoid this, the pament due date is taken from the original invoice if you mark VALDT field.
