  • Problem with Changing Data while Import through Excel Sheet

    Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP LUMIRA and I am facing an issue with it. Actually, I am importing the data for analysis from an Excel sheet into SAP LUMIRA. I am able to prepare the visualization in the first go. But If I am changing the number of columns in the excel sheet afterwards (that may occur in normal circumstances where data is dynamic) and then refreshing the LUMIRA dashboard, it fails. Please can you tell me about a possible mistake or is it really feasible when we change data afterwards and then refresh the dashboards once again.
    Looking forward to your answers.
    Regards,
    Aman

    What is the error message?
Can you confirm you are using 1.15.1?

  • Setting up Custom Priorities for Taxonomy Attributes through Import Manager

    Hi,
I want to set priority for "n" number of characteristics through Import Manager.
I know Import manager allows us to set priority to one of the following : "Highest" "High" "Normal" "Low" "Lowest". But I have a requirement to set custom priority for each of the attribute through Import manager so as to avoid manual intervention.
Has anybody worked on this before?
    Regards,
    Amol.

    Hi,
Which special properties you are talking about ?
I will just brief you the concepts of Hierarchy and Taxonomy
    Hierarchy
    Node1
    -    Node11
    -   Node12
    Node2
    -    Node21
      --         Node211
Only leaf nodes can be assigned at the time of record creation.
    Taxonomy
Used when particular hierarchy nodes needs some extra fields.
Example: If your hierarchy is like
    Cars
        - Fiat
        - Maruti
    Bikes
        - Hero Honda
        - Bajaj
Now for Cars, i want to store its Price but for Bikes i am not interested in Price but I want the Colour info. Now if you create the Price and Colour as fields of the repository then for all the records whose category is Cars will have NULL value for Colour and reverse in case of Bikes. Hence the concept of Taxonomy is introduced so that you can assign the fields (known as attributes) to the Nodes of the hierarchy.

  • SRM 7.0 - Importing RFQ through excel with hierarchies

    Hello Experts,
I am working with SRM 7.0 Portal, and I have a problem when I import an RFQ through excel with hierarchies for Portal.
I am using the BADI BBP_PD_DOWNLOAD to handle export and import of data from the portal.
To export to excel i use the function module BBP_PDH_FILE_DOWNLOAD_RENDER, and to import i use BBP_PDH_FILE_UPLOAD_PARSER.
The problem is that i export data from portal layout to excel with the defined hierarchies, however when i import the same excel, the data is displayed in the Portal without the hierarchies were defined.
    Has anyone experienced this problem?
    Best regards
    Ricardo Marques

    Hi,
I would import the Excel Data to SRM-MDM Catalog. User can select items from catalog.

  • Import Multiple Excel Into Sql Server

I have 4 Excel spreadsheets all with different formatting and column names that I want to use powershell to import into ONE Sql Server Table that I will want to create with powershell.  I have found several instances of importing one workbook, but I

  • Import from Excel to Project - blanks cells are having dates automatically added

Hi. I'm very new to Project but have started setting up a Roadmap using it which is working fairly well so far, although have hit one snag.
I have data in Excel: it is a list of projects with 4 columns containing the dates of various stages (planning, initiate, execute, close). I have created a reusable map so this can be imported into Project and the Gantt chart to show pre-defined markers
on the timeline for each stage on each project row. All well and good so far.
However, not all of the projects in Excel have all of their dates defined. E.g. a project might not yet have a close date. But when this is imported into Project a date gets applied for it. I have no idea why!
How do i get the import into Project to allow any blank cells from Excel to remain as blank so that nothing is plotted on the Gantt chart for that particular section?

Thanks for both of your replies. I have tried this and the same issue occurs. I have checked each row in the imported Project data and they are all showing as set to 'manually selected' yet at some point in the import Project is adding data to blank cells.
I have retried using a simple test excel sheet and when this too is mapped into Project, any blank cells get populated with the date that appeared in the preceding row for some reason:
I can then go through and manually delete this cell in Project (which then replaces it with an "NA") - but if i have to manually do this whenever importing from Excel into Project then it makes it very time consuming.
Surely there must be a way for Project to not auto-populate blank cells? Or am i missing something fundamental?

  • Re: Import an Excel file

    Serdar,
There are three approaches to this problem
    (a) use the excel spreadsheet as an ODBC data source
    (b) read the excel spreadsheet as a tab delimited text file
    (c) use OLE
    (a) this requires defining column headers for each "section" of data in the
    spreasheet, and
naming each "section" of data. Thus it works for spreadsheets where you
    have tight control
over the formatting & content, and not for arbitrary spreasheets. There
    are numerous drawbacks
to this approach, most notably that the ODBC datasource controlled by
    the ODBC Manager
sets the file name, and not the DBResourceManager (you have to copy your
    spreadsheet into
a fixed name, hope the other one isn't open in another session, etc etc)
    Blech.
    (b) this requires a manual step which is to read the spreadsheet into Excel
    and save it to a
different format, or have the spreadsheets saved as comma separated
    values format (csv),
then it is simply a parsing problem...
    (c) this requires that you sublaunch Excel through OLE and access the data
    somehow
(issue a "select all", "copy" - then paste the data into some text
field in Forte and read it,
or programmatically access the spreadsheets boundaries and individual
    cell data.
Sounds like this would work best for "arbitrary" spreadsheets for
    which special formatting
    or exporting would be problematic.
We have had success (using the word loosely here) with a and b and not had
occasion to do c, though it will probably yield the best flexibility for
    the effort you'll have to
put into getting it to work. The common perception about doing OLE
    integration is that
you are at the mercy of the application to which you are integrating - the
    OLE APIs are not
all universally well designed, implemented, nor documented, however since
    this is Excel you
might have lots of retail technical books to help you.
Part of the problem is that the Excel spreadsheet file is in a proprietary
    format only understood
by Excel, therefore just "reading" the file will give you a whole bunch of
    garbage.
    Good luck,

Just thinking off the top of my head here, would a variation of (c) work.
Launch Excel and trigger a macro that outputs the spreadsheet data as a CSV
file to a known location. Once that completes, it becames a parsing problem
as stated below. Or, extending this thought, if you have control over the
spreadsheet, establish a macro to output the data in CSV format. And
include in the procedure for accessing the spreadsheet a requirement to run
this macro after every data change. (Maybe the macro initiation can be
    automated too.)
    my 1 1/2 cents worth....

  • I had to refresh my computer; LR was removed. How do I re-install and have it recognize all my files that have already been imported through LR?

My computer's main files became corrupted and I had to "refresh" the system. It kept my files, but erased all of the programs. I had to even re-install Microsoft Word. So it erased my downloaded Lightroom as well.
However, all of my files are still on the computer, including the file labeled "Lightroom 5 Catalog" and 2 others like it.
My question is, how do I go about getting the program BACK onto my computer and having the program recognize that all of the pictures currently in my "Library/Pictures" folder have at one point already been imported through LR? I don't really even know what I'm talking about; I am not super techy. Maybe if I download it again it will already recognize all the files? I just want to move cautiously because I'm dealing with all the pictures of my 4 year old daughter who died last year.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi JimHess,
Yes, the files are still located in the same drive, the exact same place Lightroom put them (in Pictures in Library).
When I double-click on the catalog file, it opens up multiple folders with little white "document-looking" blank pages, and when I click on those, it open a dialog box that says "How do you want to open this type of a file (.Ircat)?" with a little box below that says "Look for an app in the store".
So I don't think my computer knows how to open them...I think I need to re-download Lightroom. I just want to make sure I'm not going to mess up the files.

    MR,
Apparently the import wasn't a good one.
The best option at this point might be to start a new table. Insert a new Table, Copy the old table cell range, select the first cell in the new table and Edit > Paste and Match Style. This will throw out all the old formatting. A bit of work, but a nice clean start.

  • Issues with importing from excel

I have been running into a several issues with importing from Excel.
    First my configuration
I am running SQL Developer ver 1.5.5 Build MAIN-5969
I am on a Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 3
I am importing into an Oracle 10g database.
    1. SQL Developer doesn't work on Excel 2007, I have to save all my files into Excel 97-2003 format before I can use them.
    2. If I run into an error loading and stop the process, SQL Developer doesn't release the Excel file and I get a sharing violation if I try to save the spreadsheet without closing SQL Developer.
    3. I have found that I have to set print area to the area I want to work with, otherwise the import wizard tries to keep adding rows.
    4. When using the Import wizard, it keeps adding commas on fields with numerics unless I specify the column in excel as text. Currently the column is formatted as General in the spreadsheet or I can change the wizard format to say the column is an integer, but it actually is just a code field with numeric characters so it may have leading zeroes that I need to keep.
    This might be related,
I have a column in excel defined as text but only contains numerics. It is of length 4, but the wizard sets a precision of 5 with a datatype of VARCHAR2. If I try to change it to 4, I get an error saying the field is not large enough. Yet, when I do a LEN on the column, it only gives me a 4. I have other fields in the same sheet that a 3 position numeric and 2 position numeric and those are fine. I am thinking this is related to the comma being inserted in a numeric field for anything greater than 3 positions.
    5. Importing excel dates to oracle dates doesn't work. I have to convert the excel date column to text then import as a VARCHAR, then convert to Date once in the database.
    6. The default of nullible is not set on any columns and I have to set them before the import. (I would prefer it set to nullible and I have to uncheck the box to make it not nullible. I would prefer to import all of the data and then deal with the nulls after they have been pulled in)
    7. When I select header columns included it uses that as the column names. Is it possible to do the name length check then? It has bit me a few times where I try to import and forget to check the name length and then I get an error when I start running the import.
    8. If one of the columns to import has all nulls, then the precision comes out to 0 and if it isn't changed an error occurs on import. Could this situation default to a precision of 1?
    9. It would be nice if there was a completion message displayed and a cancel option while running.

    On point 3.
I have a column in excel that consists of numbers. 4 digit numeric codes. Ex, 1111, 2345, etc
The column's format is general. It displays as just 4 numbers.
When I start the wizard initially, the column appears with data as 1,111, 2,345, etc, on the Data Preview screen.
It determines the precision to be 5 on the column definition screen.
If I change the precision to 4 then continue, that field will error out when I verify with "not big enough to hold the data in source columns"
If, I change the excel column to a TEXT column.
Excel still displays as 1111, 2345, etc
The wizard then displays the same data 1111, 2345 on the Data Previeiw screen
Yet, when I get to the column definition screen it still sizes it as a 5
If I change it to a 4, I get the same error when verifying.
If I leave them alone as 5, then it processes just fine.

  • Importing From Excel file will not import assignments correctly where there are more than one assignment per task

I am trying to import an excel file ... see below.   It appears if you select both Tasks and Assignments tables it will not allow you to do this, says file is not in a project recognized format.  So I import Tasks tab first then run the
wizard again and import the assignments tab while selecting merge with project option.   This works with one exception:
If there are more than one assignment per task.  It does not merge in the 2nd assignment, only the first.
Is there a way to import a task with 2 or more assignments?
    Background
To figure out what the format for the file needed to be, I started with a MPP file and from project saved as Excel and selected the "Project Template" file.  Now I am trying to import that XLS to see how it works

    Andrew Payze

    Andrew,
I did a quick test using your example although I didn't include the Predecessor or Outline Level fields to keep things a little simpler. I imported the Excel data into a new Project file with a single import of task and assignment data. It is very important
to set up the Excel Workbook correctly. On Sheet 1 I entered the task data (Name, Duration, Start). I did not include the ID or finish date as that is redundant - Project generates its own ID and will calculate the finish date based on the start date and duration.
On Sheet 2 I entered the assignment data basically just as you show it except I didn't include the Units.
    The data imported as expected.

  • Error Message in Data IMport from Excel

    Hi All
Please can you help - I am trying to import some BP data using the option in the menu Administration - Data Import/Export - Data Import from Excel.
I have created my import file as a text file and provided the relevant mappings. Having located my text file, I then get the following error message:
Row Number 1:Internal error (-2007) occurred.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what this means I've done wrong?
    Thanks
