Hi folks,
I'd like to create some different tcp/ip profiles in my Treo 850
I need to change the setting faster, from my home to the hotel when I'm in business trip
I know that there are some programs for Windows but I didn't find anything about WM6 (for example Netswitcher)
can you help me?

  • Flexible Netflow (v.9) question on 3850 ipservices doesn't seem to register

    Greetings all - I am trying to enable netflow on a new 3850-24 with ipservices.  I am leveraging LiveAction and have raised a ticket with them to help me through the issue, but more generally I'm confused about the lack of features I'm seeing. Per the 3850 guide here (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3850/software/release/3se/flexible_netflow/configuration_guide/b_fnf_3se_3850_cg/b_fnf_3se_3850_cg_chapter_010.html) it is stated that you will have the option of turning on inbound and outbound directions on 3850's with ipbase and ipservices.

    Welcome to the Arch forums.  That was an amazing first post.  It is refreshing to see a new forum member actually post with as much detail as possible in order to explain the situation.  Too often we get people saying things like "I can't get to the internet... why?" as the extent of their post.  So thanks.
    So I am curious about what the dhcpcd is trying to do.  It seems to be trying to soliciting for a ipv6 address, but mentions nothing about in ipv4 address.  It is not unfortunately not entirely uncommon for dhcpcd to time out waiting for an ipv6 address that never comes.  So are you using ipv6?  Do you expect an ipv6 address?  I noticed that when you tried to ping the google DNS server, you used their ipv4 address (8.8.8.8).  So I am thinking that means you are actually using ipv4.
    I wonder if you might be able to poll for just an ipv4 address with dhcpcd.  Just run it with -4 and it should disable the ipv6 stuff.  You might also want to try dhclient and see what kind of output it gives you.  If you are definitely not using ipv6, and it is not offered in your area, you might want to disable it.  There are instructions in the wiki on how to do this... but you might want to wait until you establish the issue before doing things like that.

  • Vista 98se file sharing - risks worth it?

    Vista Home Premium on wireless laptop and 98se on desktop, connected to WRT54G V8. Internet is working, fine. Is it worth it to set up a local network between the laptop and the desktop? Any risks? Vista said something about files now being public but is that so? Any more than public being behind the Linksys route to yet a Verizon Westell 2200 router/aDSL modem? I did this a long time ago. I have to turn on file sharing between the two. I notice Vista has a program to theoretically facilitate this but would it work with a 98se computer. Any places to read up on this? I need to set up NetBIOS and get familiar with \\ for files and printers and drives? Not really crucial since I can use a 4 GB USB drive or DVD's to transfer files. I'm just asking in advance because networks can be tricky. Thanks.

    Okay, I can activated Windows 98se and turn on the Microsoft protocols, NetBEUI, like:
    * Client for Microsoft Networks
    * IPX/SPX Compatible Protocol > Network Card
    * NetBEUI > Network Card
    * TCP/IP > Network Card
    * File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
    And I guess Vista might be able to see the 98se but then again, knowing Microsoft, they might play dumb.
    Any risks here? For years I turned off all the above switches. Very few virus problems because I had little outside access. I kept the TCP/IP switch on for internet access I'm sure.
    I can call Microsoft if this is complicated but then would probably tell me to OEM it. And their wizard should recognize 98se. It did not so hence my posting to this group. But I had not turned on NetBEUI so maybe that's why. I was using Vista's Easy Transfer. Maybe File and Printer Sharing pure might be better?
    The FAQ's here don't address Vista but say to contact Microsoft. Yeah right.

  • Impact of changing VLAN bandwidh if my physical port is 10G?

    My monitoring system is reporting that VLAN X is 100% utilization in my 6509. That VLAN is used to pass traffic between two 10G access ports in that VLAN X. It seems that by default the VLAN bandwidth is 1G, however i am passing more traffic than that in that 10G connection. Is it safe to just change the bandwidth to the VLAN without impact? I think it is but would like to know if someone has some experience with this.

    There should not be any issue by changing it accordingly to the actual speed of the interfaces. Typically the interface bandwidth command would be used to communicate the speed of the interface to Interior Gateway Routing Protocols (IGRP), so they would then calculate their metircs based on that value, the bandwidth value should be accurate, otherwise there would be cases where a routing protocol would rely on wrong values (please see below output) so would consider wrongly a path as equal as another and use them both equally. Please keep in mind also that the bandwidth command does not affect the actual speed of the interface. One more use of the bandwidth command would be in the adjustment of the initial retransmision parameters of tcp.

    In this example, an IGRP would calculate its metric considering 100Mbps as the speed of the interface when the real speed is 10Mbps, that's because the bandwidth is set to 100000 Kb and it is the value that would be used by that IGRP.

    There has to be at least one in your locale? Regardless of platform deploying, configuring, running and maintaining a server is more than just the OS itself. There are many different skills you have to bring into play. A basic understanding of networking in general, TCP/IP, Switches, Routers and DNS (as always) are amongst some of the things you will have to bring to the table yourself. These you won't necessarily learn from any of the documentation Apple provide.

  • TCP delay on catalyst switch

    i experienced a TCP delay on catalyst 4506, avoid the problem when i replaced 4506's with dummy unmanaged switches.
    i used two PCs(PC 1 and PC 2) and two 4506 switches (S1 and S2)
    PC 1 is connected to S1 (fast ethernet port)
    PC 2 is connected to S2 (fast ethernet port)
    S1 is connected to S2 (SFP gigabit ethernet port)
    -I started continuous UDP,TCP,MULTICAST and PING from PC1 to PC2
    -I unplugged link between Switch 1 and Switch 2
    all communication stopped.
    -I plugged link between Switch 1 and Switch 2
    -UDP,MULTICAST and PING started immediately but TCP started with approximately 15 seconds delay. :-(
    I repeated same procedure with unmanaged dummy switches instead of 4506, there wasnt 15 seconds delay. TCP showed up in 1 second.
    How can I avoid TCP delay on catalyst switches? Probably some tuning with configuration would do the job?

    - switch ports to the PCs are configured as portfast.
    - switch ports between two catalyst switches are not configured (default)
    - i didnt use the 'switchport access' command since they are default layer 2 interfaces. would 'switchport access vlan 1' command make any difference?
    - i looked at the port status and confirmed connection is 100 mbps full duplex.
    unusual issue is; ping, udp, multicast shows up in a very short time after I re-plug the uplink. that proves all ports are in forwarding state. only TCP shows up with delay, which doesnt occur on 200 $ unmanaged switch??

  • TCP Syslog output for routers and switches

    I am installing a Log Correlation Server at a Customer site whom is very heavy Cisco.
    I have a 3825 at their Border, ASA boxes on both sides of the DMZ, and 40 + cisco Switches in the Infrastructure routing between Production VLAN's.
    One of the features fo the Logging Server is the ability to accept TCP connections for Syslog.
    Does this functionality also exist on the 3825 Router? How about a 3550 switch? Or a 4500 switch?

  • Switch sending tcp traffic to incorrect interface

    Need help diagnosing a layer 2 networking issue. We had a report from an end user of slow file server access from his computer but local applications were responding normally. No one else was having issues in his area. Port mirrored the employees access port (Gi1/0/33) and noticed traffic from another computer crossing onto his port. Our design is to have one computer per port. This traffic was not intended for his computer as it was another employee opening and closing files on the file server (file server located on another switch). Checked MAC address table and his MAC address was the only one associated on the port. Traced the 2nd employees MAC address to a neighboring port (Gi1/0/35). Only MAC address associated on Gi1/0/35 was the 2nd employees. Cleared the mac address entry for Gi1/0/33 only and the extra traffic was eliminated immediately. 
    Why would a switch send tcp traffic to a port that a client does not communicate on? I asked the second employee if they noticed any issue in accessing the file server and none were reported.  Switch is a 3750x with version 12.2. 

    I've been double checking everything this morning and I feel we were not attacked. All the MAC addresses in my capture are valid system addresses. ISE does not show any authorized machines attempting to connect to the switch. We have DHCP snooping enabled throughout the organization. That was a great article to learn from though.
    I've included a visio of the setup and a snippet of the wire capture and arp/mac tables as were captured during the incident. Traffic from the fileserver intended for employee 2 was flooding the port employee 1 was connected on. The destination MAC address of the packets were not meant for employee 1.

  • Access to Cisco Switch Modbus Register Map? via Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU

    Hello Folks, I have been trying to find out how to access the Modbus Register Map(s) of Cisco switches, of particular interest is that of an IE 3000 as it is din rail mountable (but for models 2960s, 3560s are also of interest).  A google search for: Cisco Switch Modbus TCP results in (if I may) how to configure a Cisco 2520 to do what I am trying to do.  I would be very grateful for any hints anybody might have.  Thanks

    Though I am not familiar with the specific drives in question, I have used Modbus/TCP in LabVIEW a few times recently.
    As the previous posters pointed out, there are a couple of VI libraries available.  LabVIEW 2014 added Modbus VI's with the DSC and LabVIEW Real-Time.  The others you would have to get and add in yourself.
    Another option is to use LabVIEW I/O Servers; as long as you have DSC or Real-Time, you can create Modbus I/O Servers as library items and deploy to a target.  You don't get as much direct control in this way (and may run into difficulties if you need them to be field-configurable and do not have DSC) and use bound network shared variables, but they are very fast and easy to setup and I have yet to have any issues with using them in my applications.

    As for using an Ethernet switch to connect multiple devices, I have used this approach many times to simultaneously connect and control numerous PC's, real-time controllers, and drives without issue.  I would not expect there to be any problems unless you have extenuating circumstances.  In fact, if you only have one network interface on your device at the moment, I would recommend against adding a second, as this would mean that you / your controller would have to be extra aware of which interface everything is assigned to go through.

  • TCP reset packet issue on Cisco 6509 switch

    We are connecting a malware prevention appliance to a SPAN port on cisco switch 6509 which uses IOS firmware.
    When the Malware appliance send TCP RST packet to the switch, it does not accept it.
    Please help with what additional config to be done on the switch or the span sport so that the packet is received by the switch.

  • TCP Window Scaling supported on 3750G and 2960G switches?

    We have the 3750G with the IOS version 12.2(35)SE5. Does this IOS version and switch support the TCP Window Scaling detailed in this doc?  The doc says Release 12.2(8)T.  And I don't see the 3750G or the 2960G platforms listed in the doc. I'm guessing they're not but rather than guess, I thought I'd ask.  Thanks

    Indeed you may, but the doc also notes "Do not use this command unless you clearly understand why you want to change the default value.".
    The two common situations where there's possible benefit to increasing the device's TCP receive window are:  to allow faster FTP/RCP downloads to the device or to support quicker BGP bulk transfers.  The former is limited by write speed to flash and the latter might be unusual to need > 64 KB for BDP.
    Also, BTW, if you do find a need to work with scaled TCP receive windows on a Cisco device, you probably also should enable (optional) SACK.

  • Switching from Named Pipes to Tcp/Ip sockets : can I use the same DB or will I loose my data?

    we use MDT 2013 in conjunction with a local SQL Express 2012 database. I configured MDT to use Named Pipes but I want to switch to TCP/IP sockets. Is it possible to change that Network Library for an existing database? Am I going to loose the contents of

    Just did a testrun with a test deployment share. Made a db with Named Pipes, filled in some values. Created a new db and I was able to choose between some existing databases. I chose the test db and yes all the values are in it.
    Next I tried it with my main db and indeed nothing is lost. Pfjew.

  • Cisco Switch listening on tcp 25, 110, 143

    Hi,
    Im curious if anyone knows my Cisco 2950's are listening on tcp ports 25 (smtp), 110 (pop3) and 143 (IMAP)!
    I cant see anything in the configuration that should be allowing this... And i dont understand why its there. If possible id like to disable the ports.

    After reading your post i tried the test from a different source PC... I then realised what the problem was and to be honest im a bit embarrassed!
    Id installed some PGP software on my PC but didn't realise that it proxies any outbound connections on mail related ports..!
    Giving the impression that the remote device was listening on these port.

    Thank you, I have that working but it's not really what I need.
    Though pictures are worth a 1000 words so I hope someone will post something similar to my question.
    I have 7 - SB 302-08 switches with the most recent firmware. (updated firmware today, thanks to the video, and TG for the CLI)
    All 302's are configured for layer 3.
    This is my first experience with the SMB line of switches.
    I have a main office and several satellite branch offices.
    All locations are connected back with a "Q to Q" circuit on individual ports to a vendor supplied switch at the main office.
    I need to link all branch office 302 switches back to the main office 302 switch and allow traffic amongst them.
    Mainly traffic between each branch office and the main office.
    There maybe a future need to incorporate VoIP on them as well, but that is a back burner issue.
    These locations will have an individual VLAN and 302 switch but need to receive data from the main VLAN and possibly others.
    I have a "core" SB 302 setup at the main office with its own VLAN.
    Each branch switch has its own VLAN.
    I would also like to have a centralized management VLAN for the switches.
    In trying to configure the core 302 I keep losing connectivity and having to reset it.
    On the branch switches I end up getting them to only link to themselves with different IP's and not the core.
    I'm assuming this is caused by my not configuring interconnectivity using ACL.

    Well first you want to make sure you are running latest firmware 1.1.1.8 I do believe
    Next either console into the switch or you can turn on SSH/Telnet under Web gui (Security••àTCP/UDP services and make sure SSH/Telent is enabled)
    Now we configure the switch via Cli
    We need to enter global configuration mode.
    Configure Terminal
    (next add our vlans)
    Vlan database
    Vlan 10
    Vlan 20
    Vlan 30
    Exit
    (you can run show command to see your vlans)
    do show vlan
    (Now configure the port how you would like)
    Interface GE1
    Switchport mode access   (this is making Gigabit port 1 an access port)
    Switchport access vlan 20 (this command is changing access port vlan from 1 to 20)
    (less configure a trunk port)
    Interface GE2
    Switchport mode trunk (this makes port 2 for trunking)
    (Now less add our Vlans)
    Switchport trunk native vlan 1
    Switchport trunk allowed vlan add 10,20,30
    Exit global configuration
    (Use this command to copy your settings to startup)
    Copy running-config startup-config

    I see you have a WRT54G router which i don't think support vlans unless you have 3rd party OS installed.
    So currently is the SG300 swtich operating in layer 2 or layer 3 , guessing this is why you choose to move up to 300 series switch?
    If the switch is not in layer 3 mode but in layer2 when setting it to layer3 the switch will default all pervious settings.
    If the switch is set in layer 3 mode you might have forgot your default route
    (Command setting default route)
    configure terminal
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1  (192.168.1.1 being address of your WRT54G)
    Now you would need to set up ACL's to deny and allow what traffic you wanted to filter on the SG300
    Also reading your post we would need you to call into support center SBSC @ 1-866-606-1866
