TeamViewer 10 deployment not adding registry settings?

Hi,
I am trying to deploy teamviewer 10 with custom registry settings so that the outlook add-in is disabled. So I have included the "TeamViewer_Settings.reg" file in the same source directory as the TeamViewer.msi. Is there something else I need to
do so that the registry settings are applied from this file when it is installed on the client?

For new installations (since the distribution point is updated) this reg-file will automatically import during the installation process" ?
Unless this is how the TeamViewer installer works, the app model will not do that automatically. The same rules applies to the app model, if you need to run both commands, put it in a seperate script and reference that script in your script installer deployment
type.

  • Not saving registry settings in POSReady2009

I have a number of registry settings that are required to restrict the use of the system in POSReady 2009, for example remove the 'Run' option from the start button.
When I add the registry entries such as NoRun in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer the new entry appears but as soon as I reboot the registry entry disappears.

Is FBWF or EWF enabled in the system? If so, turn these off and make the registry change.

  • PS App Deployment registry settings fail through SCCM

I've created an application installation with PowerShell and I'm running into a problem.  I've set it up so it installs an application, copies a file to the user profile, and adds 5 registry settings.  I've got it all setup and working great
when I run it manually.  However, when running it through SCCM, the application does install, but the registry settings don't get added.
Tried it as an application and a package in SCCM, set to run as admin, allow user to interact, and only when a
user is logged in.  The ExecutionPolicy is set to Bypass on test PCs.
I've also setup the same install as a script and everything works fine, manual and SCCM install.  Really want to get it working with PowerShell as it has more functionality and more reliable than scripting.  It only has a problem when its ran with
PowerShell through SCCM.  Has anyone ran into this before?

  • Registry settings used by Itunes drivers not found

I just installed the latest version of itunes after having an old version previously installed. Every time I run Itunes now I receive an error message. It says something about registry settings missing that are used by itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs. It suggests re installing itunes and uninstalling any other CD burning software. I have reinstalled itunes perhaps 6 times now and i have not installed any other CD burning software - ever - windows media player was always installed. I don't think WMP should be interferring though since it didn't before. I receive this error message everytime i run itunes. Also, this may be related, I cannot consolidate my library. Everytime i select the option nothing happens. itunes does not react whatsoever.

  • Registry settings are not consistent with version.exe

Under the bin directory, there is version.exe which I think would print out the version of wls. When I try to use it, I got the following:
    E:\Apps\weblogic600\bin>version
    Cannot find key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BEA Systems\WebLogic\6.0.0b1:
    The Windows registry is misconfigured

    cannot find weblogic registry settings:
    The Windows registry is misconfigured
    for the WebLogic Server
Then I check the registry and the entries are:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BEA Systems\WebLogic\6.0 Beta

We will be removing version.exe in future revisions of this software. We are replacing many of the native .exe's with java code and scripts
that wrap java commands in an effort to provide consistency cross-platform and also make execution of the server and related functions as
obvious as possible by exposing how the environment is set, etc. . Also, we are restricting our use of the Windows registry, instead using a
common installation registry which can be found in your BEA Home directory. This registry will be used on all platforms and for many BEA
products giving a single source of installation information on both Windows and Unix. You caught us in transition with the elimination of
certain .exe's and we apologize for any confusion that this caused.

  • Reader Preference Registry Settings

I found that Tuner does not expose any of the Reader preferences that I want to set, so I'm trying to find out how to use registry settings to create default preferences. I have been unable to find any documentation of specific registry keys/values that correspond to the Reader preferences, so I've been experimenting, trial and error, with changing a preference setting and trying to locate changed registry entries - not very efficient. Anyone know of a source of info?
From a Tuner-related Question Log I found when searching adobe.com, I see how to include registry info in a Tuner package, and I think I understand how to use the Installer\Migrate key under HKLM, but my experimentation hasn't been entirely successful.
The preferences I'm trying to set are:
    -Internet:
    - Display PDF in browser
    - Check Browser settings...
    - Connection speed
    -Startup
    - Show messages and automatically update (not sure what this does, but I'm trying to prevent any automatic update attempts)
    -Updates
    - Check for updates
    - Display notification dialog at startup
Under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\Installer, I created key Migrate and added the following values (all REG_DWORD):
    - iConnectionSpeed=0x00989680
    - bBrowserCheck=0x0
    - bBrowserIntegration=0x0
    - bShowAutoUpdateConfDialog=0x0
    - bShowNotifDialog=0x0
    - iUpdateFrequency=0x0
This seems to successfully set the Display PDF in browser to unchecked and Connection speed to LAN for a new user, but Check browser settings and Show messages and automatically update are still checked.
Is there a different/better way to accomplish this?

    I guess I was sleepy... it's [11.0.10] not 10.0.10
At any rate, the key path I used mentioned @ http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/QuickKeys/EnhancedSecurityQuickKeyAll.pd f (for reader 11.x) is
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\FeatureLockDown]; I noticed they also show up in the equivalent key under Wow6432Node.
I even restarted these PC's after ensuring the registry values were all there - but it was the same situation after reboot.
I don't know how it would matter, but some additional details that may help:
All the values all being applied from the SYSTEM user, as I'm deploying these as a Compliance Baseline from Configuration Manager.
it might be possible that all affected installations were installed with an .mst

  • Windows 8 and IE10 not accepting Proxy Settings via Group Policy

We have recently introduced a couple of Windows 8 computers in our network, and we are having issues applying the Internet Explorer Proxy Server settings.
We use a Microsoft TMG 2010 server as our proxy server for accessing the internet.
We have been using a GPO with the following settings to automatically configure our Windows 7 computers running IE9 with the appropriate Proxy settings:
    User Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenance\Connection/Proxy Settings
    “Enable Proxy Settings” : Checked
    “Address of proxy” : server.domain.local
    “Port” : 8080
“Use the same proxy server for all addresses” : Checked
“Exceptions” : Here we have a list of several internal or partner sites that should not be proxied.
This GPO has worked beautifully for our Windows XP and Windows 7 users with IE 7, 8 and 9.
Now with Windows 8 and IE10, this no longer works.
I’ve therefore added a Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller to the network, and using GPMC on that new DC, I created a new GPO with the following settings:
    User Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Internet Settings\Internet Explorer 10
Now, seeing as these are preferences, it’s a little different.  But, I’ve “checked off” the option “Use a proxy server for your LAN” as well as “Bypass proxy server for local addresses”.
Then I click on “Advanced” and setup all my proxy settings the way I would like them, including the proxy server name, port and exceptions list.
When this new group policy gets applied to my Windows 8 PC, the only setting that gets applied is the “Use a proxy server for your LAN”.
It does not configure the name or port of the proxy server nor does it configure the exceptions list.
If I go back to the GPMC, and edit the new GPO, the settings are all there.
However, if I just view the settings from the main GPMC screen (without opening the GPO itself),
I don’t see all of those settings (again, only the one “Use a proxy server…”)
    What am I missing???

Hi All, - (Revised Answer by myself)<o:p></o:p>
I banged my head against the keyboard on this one for some time trying to get this group policy to apply.  I
did every thing that was suggested, learning about the F6 and F7 keys to Green underline and Red underline the options required and not required.  I even gave in and used the registry settings and it still did not work.  It turned out that I had
2 issues.  The first one is obvious and the second not so obvious, this is how it is setup:
I have a 2012 R2 Standard DC with Windows 8.1 clients/workstations and IE 11.  As you are aware you must make
sure that the following are underlined in green:
Automatically detect settings - (but not ticked)<o:p></o:p>
Use proxy server for your LAN<o:p></o:p>
    Bypass Proxy for local address<o:p></o:p>
Next I made sure that the following had red dotted lines:
    Address<o:p></o:p>
This still didn't work, so I went through my 'Do Not use proxy servers for addresses beginning with' removed all
of these and then re-added one by one until the problem materialized.  The first issue was when using wildcards I had added an entry with the following:
    http://domain.subdomain.com/*
Then caused my proxy fields not to be applied, I re-added this just with:<o:p></o:p>
    http://domain.subdomain.com/
    <o:p>This next one is IMPORTANT.</o:p>
I had these entries in a Word document of which I had copied and pasted from the entry box for 'Do
Not use proxy servers for addresses beginning with'.  As shown in the screen shot above provided by SVEN_BURGER I had very similar entries:
    http://domain.subdomain.com/;10.*.*.*;172.27.*.*;http://172.27.*.*
Each time I copied and pasted the line (+ more) above the proxy field on the Windows 8.1 client
be blank after using 'gpupdate /force' I then noticed that in my Word document the whole string was being seen as 1 URL due to the http part at the beginning, so I changed my entry to look like this:
    10.*.*.*;172.27.*.*;http://172.27.*.*;http://domain.subdomain.com/
I again noticed that this section:
    http://172.27.*.*;http://domain.subdomain.com/
Was being seen as one URL in my Word document.  To resolve this I had to add the URL's individually and
apply and OK these before going back in and making the next entry.  So I ended up adding them all individually after separating the
    URL's in my Word document.
    I hope this helps.

  • Registry settings for I-Tunes burner missing

I have had I-Tunes for several years and have never had a problem before. Recently a start-up message has started opening that says, "The registry settings used by the I-Tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please re-install i Tunes." So I have re-installed i Tunes several times to no avail. I'm hoping there is some techy out there who can help me out! Thank you!

I got same message, tried almost every resolution i.e. installed gear drivers, uninstalled itunes step-by-step and reinstalled. I finally got so frustrated, I finally tried the resolution noted below:
    START > Run... regedit
    * Go to HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE1 0318}
    * Rename UpperFilters entry to UpperFilters_backup
    * Create new entry of type REGMULTISZ (multi-string value) In Registry Editor, click Edit -> New -> Multi-String Value
    * Name new entry UpperFilters
    * Add values that are in UpperFilters_backup to new entry by double clicking it and typing in values that are in UpperFilters_backup.
    * Make sure GEARAspiWDM values is entered so that it is after the 'redbook' value (if it existed UpperFilters_backup) but before any Roxio driver values ('Cdralw2k' and 'pwd_2k, if they existed), and a carriage return after each value, including last one.
    * Reboot.
I was very hesitant to try this, but it was the only thing to do. There was one hitch to this. The respective file 4D36E965... did not have the UpperFilters entry. So in my case, I exported the 4D36E965 entry to my desktop as a backup just in case. Then I followed the instructions to create the entry as detailed in the instructions, added the entry as noted, rebooted, and now the message no longer appears when I open iTunes. I have no idea what causes this problem. Maybe I'll find out when I try another application. Just make sure to follow the instructions to the letter. Good luck.

  • Getting Error: cluster ip address not added to tcpip properties

I have 2 2008 R2 physical servers on the same subnet and they have been using NLB for the past 1.5 years.  We had a firewall issue and I took one of the servers out of the cluster to do testing, while the other main server (priority 1) was left serving
up the virtual IPs. The main server continues to work properly.
The servers have 2 NICs, one for NLB and one just for regular traffic.  The NICs also have their own IP addresses and then there is a cluster IP and 2 virtual IPs.
    Error:
When I try and add the second server to the cluster, I first connect to existing cluster which works fine.  Then I do a Add Host to Cluster, and type the name of the server and select the NLB NIC.  It sees the other server and it seems to start
the process, however soon after the NLB NIC goes to having internet access to a "enabled" state and the gateway gets taken out of the settings.  I try to add it back, but as soon as I get out of the settings it disappears again.  NLB manager
tells me: cluster ip address (192.#.#.#) not added to tcpip properties.  It lists this error 4 times, once for each IP (2 virtual, 1 cluster, and then once for the dedicated NLB NIC IP).  I have also tried adding all virtual IPs to the NLB NIC's
settings and still same exact error.  Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces    -even reg looks good.
Any help would be appreciated.  If I can't get any resolution my next step is going to be to delete the NLB cluster on the main server and recreate it....but this requires downtime and got to make sure it comes back up!

  • Could not synchronize color settings because of a program error.

First, let me preface this by saying that I have several identical workstations that are all imaged from a single master.
On the master, I configured Bridge to synchronize color settings across my Creative Suite apps.  This works on the Master but on every machine I've imaged from the Master I get a "Could not synchronize color settings because of a program error" when I launch Photoshop.
Is there a way to stop the error?
    Thanks in advance,
    hp

I have my machines setup this way to make preference/setting management/deployment easier.
Yes, I can understand that and as said, I have a single set up.
But in normal set up you install the suite at system level Application folder and use it from the dedicated user account(s) on that machine. All preferences and custom settings for Adobe (at least that I know of) are stored in the user library ( User/ library / Application Support / Adobe / and then per app presets - and same library / preferences / Adobe and many settings folders)
Color sync and custom color profiles you have added are stored in the system library while the saved custom color setting you have created in one of the CS6 apps for use of color settings synchronization is in its turn again stored on user level library (user/ library / application support / Adobe/ Color / Settings) and inhere should be the custom name .csf file you have saved and should be able to find back in the list showing in Bridge when asking for color settings sync.
I really doubt (but as said, no experience in it) imaging the systems is the correct procedure. I'm not sure what settings you want to pre set but mostly they are found in the user lib app support and user lib pref folder (for PS actions, workspaces, custom brushes etc etc.)
And if you are using it for education it is a very good idea to learn all user that there is such thing as a preference command that offer you options to customize the application to your wishes. I can't yell enough about that because PS has a very pre historic default preference settings that needs changing for better use of the app. And the default workspace of Bridge is very clumsy and very unattractive, so the more people learn how to change that themselves the better it will be for making it more popular...
