Telephone directory from XML

Hey
I have a big challenge. The task is to generate e phone direcotry in an adobe application. first i think indesign is perfect. i became all directory entries in a xml file. but now i have the problem that i didn't understand how i set various entries in a textbox.
An entry look like this:
          Testname
          Marcel
               Musterstrasse
               86
               6000
               Dorf
          0413332211
the entries have different skins. it will be controlled by the type-attribut.
Can anybody help me?

From the CS4 XML help:
An attribute provides additional information about an XML element. Each attribute consists of a name and a value. Attributes appear in the Structure pane; THEY ARE NOT PLACED IN THE DOCUMENT OR USED AS CONTENT IN THE DOCUMENT. Include attributes with elements for the benefit of files and applications that will use the XML files you create in InDesign.
In other words, ID doesn't use the attributes for anything. They are only useful if you're exporting XML from InDesign.

Hi All,
Our scenario is IDoc - XI -(Receiver File adapter) File. Is it possible to populate complete "Target Directory" from the source XML message??
Lets say we added field to maintain target directory in Idoc structure and some how populated value to it, then grab this target directory from the IDoc-XML and pass in Comunication Channel. I think its possible through Variable Substitation ...just want to make sure and if sombody has done the similar scenario their inputs would be great.

For the first time when i complied i got the errors as :

So i logged in as sys & grant the permission to execute on UTL_FILE to ridb (user):
SQL Statement:
grant execute on utl_file to ridb
So, it got compiled successfully but when i execute it gives me error as:
Source does not have a runnable target.
What does this mean?
So I browse through forum & i got to know that i need to initial the UTL_FILE_DIR ="C:/OracleProject" in init.ora
So can i edit the init.ora with notepad.When i tried to do that it says permission denied
In my system it shows the init.ora file in path C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts
but there is also other file initXETemp in the same path do i need to do the changes in it.
I have tried even editing the SPFILE as mentioned below:
C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs\SPFILEEXE - I had edit this file using notepad & set the value of UTL_FILE_DIR ="C:/OracleProject". So next time when i restarted i'm unable to log on to the database.
So i had reinstall the software again.
Could you please let me know how to proceed..

Data Load from XML file to Oracle Table

Hi,
I am trying to load data from XML file to Oracle table using DBMS_XMLStore utility.I have performed the prerequisites like creating the directory from APPS user, grant read/write to directory, placing the data file on folder on apps tier, created a procedure ‘insertXML’ to load the data based on metalink note (Note ID: 396573.1 How to Insert XML by passing a file Instead of using Embedded XML). I am running the procedure thru below anonymous block to insert the data in the table.

I am getting below error after running the anonymous block.

Cause :   The operation attempted on the file or LOB failed.

           information. Also, verify that the file or LOB exists and that
           the necessary privileges are set for the specified operation. If
           the error still persists, report the error to the DBA.
I searched this error on metalink and found DOC ID 1556652.1 . I Ran the script provided in the document. PFA the script.
Also, attaching a document that list down the steps that I have followed.
Please check and let me know if I am missing something in the process. Please help to get this resolve.

Making a telephone directory in InDesign 5.5

I am trying to make a telephone directory for the entire campus. I have all faculty/staff in a spread sheet, saved it as a csv file. I then put it InDesign - put the appropriate fields then tried to do multiple layouts and I am realizing it doesn't "flow."I thought I would have to create at least two InDesign templates one for the middle and then one for the back but neither flows correctly.
Can anyone guide me?
Basically the middle of the book should like this (but with multiple pages that the data flows until the last record)
Then this is the back of the directory which is in alphabetical order. I don't need to format it this way I just need it to be one record on top of another, then put into a second column then flowed until the last record.

ah ok, you never said you were data merging them.
in short, data merge doesn't have a feature like microsoft word where there is a "next record" TEXT field which lets the records flow on.
instead, data merge works by merging the elements on the page, so if you were to merge the file and in the options turn on the multiple record feature, you'd see that many text boxes were generated but they're not threaded together... but the text boxes do have record one, then record two, then record three...
indesign's data merge is best suited to generating data where one record changes per page. yes, it can do many records per page, but this is ideally suited to people who are imposing their own business cards many up on a page; or people making picture heavy catalogues with set amounts of records per page. indesign's data merge is not built for catalogue-style in-line data merges similar to microsoft word's mail merge to catalogue.
for your purposes, i'd use XML but that is user unfriendly. there are CSV to XML converters online (assuming your database isn't too huge) and a great resource called "A Designer's Guide to Adobe InDesign and XML: Harness the Power of XML to Automate your Print and Web Workflows" written by James Maivald and it is about the only easy to pick up and run with book out there on the topic. There is another book by Grant Gamble on the topic and no offense to him, but my brain was full by chapter three.

Unable to create xml from xml schema

JDeveloper 10.1.3 EA1
I am unable to create a new xml file from an xml schema when the starting root element is a complex type (but it works with a simple type). It does not matter if the xml schema is registered within JDeveloper.
Is this a bug or intended behaviour?
Error message:
''XML Document from XML Schema creation could not be competed succesfully. Make sure the source schema is valid and that you have write permissions to the output directory."
NB The xml schema is valid and I have write permissions on the specified directory.

When I do not register this (or other) schema with JDeveloper, I can create an xml document from xml schema. However, when I register this schema and then try to generate an xml document (either from the registered xsd either from a filesystem xsd) with person as starting node it fails with the mentioned error. However, when I use city as starting node it is generated successfully.

Loading settings from xml and applying

I've got an xml where im writing certain settings of a application. This is what the xml looks like;

From the xml i have the code to read and write. But, i want to apply those settings so that when the application is reopened it looks at the xml and opens project and the tsFrames by looking at the xml.
Can someone please help me with wrting a method that applies those settings and loads the application.

Accessing Discoverer EUL from XML Publisher

Is there a way to use Oracle Discoverer's EUL from XML Publisher to build a report instead of creating a query directly?
I'm just thinking of providing the ability to build fancy reports using XML Publisher to the end user that Oracle Discoverer doesn't provide.

I have the same issue with XML Publisher.
I made a directory under the xmlpserver\Reports called Guest.
When i sign in with guest(without password), i can see and launch
my report.
But when use directly this URL:
http://mycomputer:15101/xmlpserver/myreportdirectory/myreport.xdo
the browser open the sign in page.
Is there a mistake on the url or the configuration ?

Is there a way to browse the browse native directory from shared services with a ldap browser?
I cant get it working on shared_server_name port: 58080?

You can use an ldap browser but you are trying to use the web server port and not the open ldap port, the open ldap port is 58089, you can see that in the css.xml file.
Also you will need to set up the correct base dn which is dc=css,dc=hyperion,dc=com
For logging in use the User DN :- CN=root,dc=css,dc=hyperion,dc=com

Generate HTML from XML and XSLT

Hi,
I have asked in different forum but did not get my answer so asking here again
i want to generate a HTML file from XML and XSLT in a temp folder and then read it into a java.lang.String, so can email it or write to a database file.
how can i do it, is there any engine which will merger XML and XSLT and give a HTML file or a String as output

Follow the simple steps.
1) Create XML Document (I hope u have it)
2) Create XSL Stylesheet for your XML document
3) Put both files in one directory some where in your local system or web server upto u
4) Invoke the XML document from webbrowser and you are done.

When connecting to OID directory from ODSM, orcladmin account is locked

Hi everyone,
I met a problem when I try to connect to OID directory from ODSM. [LDAP: error code 53 - Password Policy Error :9001: cn=orcladmin : Your account is locked. Contact your OID administrator.]
I tried to use command to unlock the super user
oidpasswd connect=OIDDB unlock_su_acct=true
OID DB user password:****
OID super user account unlocked successfully.
But I still cannot connect to OID directory with cn=orcladmin. The LDAP error 9001: cn=orcladmin : Your account is locked still exists. Could anyone tell me how to resolve the problem? Thanks!

We are facing the same problem in a production system with clustering and load balancing. The problem appears if there is no activity on bpel tasks for more than 30 minutes. We found that there exists a timeout parameter in the load balancer defined at 30 mins.
According to documentation, there exist two configuration parameters that are relevant to the problem:
1. in jazn.xml

2. in is_config.xml
