Telnet help

Hi
I want to design a form in Developer6 which will telnet the server and read the output of telnet data then save into text file.
Can any one help me
BR//

Hello,
Use the HOST() built-in to run external programs like telnet. You could use a batch comand file for the telnet input like (not tested)
  Host('cmd /c telnet < c:\telnet.txt');Francois

  • UC 520 initial setup trouble

    Hi -
    I've got a UC 520 and am having trouble accessing the device to configure the initial setup.
    I can connect using the console port, but I can't access the device thru CCA.
    I do not get an IP address using DHCP when connected.
    I can no ping the default port(s) 10.1.1.1 or 192.168.10.1 when using a static IP address on the same subnet.
    I followed the steps on uc500.com to update the sfotware to 8.0.1 and to using the factory-default configuration.
    I still can not access the device using CCA. The device also does not give out IP addresses to an IP phone when connected.
    ANY tips/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Press F2 while in CCA to view console logs while CCA does it's voodoo.
    In my experience enabling telnet helps ALOT, because in the logs CCA is constantly trying to telnet, but can't if it's disabled and falls back to HTTP.
    line vty 0 4
    transport input all
    Also make sure your interfaces are not shutdown. Assuming vlan 10 is your UC520 switch vlan:
    conf t
    int fa 0/1/0 - 8
    no shut
    int vlan 10
    no shut

    Hi,
    Telnet server use TCP port 23 by default.
    Here is a screenshot of my lab server,
    To verify if the TCP port 23 has been opened, we can use the portqry tool.
    Here is the download link,

  • Help required in configuring telnet

    Hi,
    We have two PIX 515E firewalls working in HA mode.
    I wanted to configure telnet access to firewalls from outside interface.
    PIX version is 6.3(5)
    I kept PC outside to outside interfaces.
    PIX outside IP is 10.10.200.3, inside IP is 10.10.202.5 corresponding virtual IPs are 10.10.200.2 and 10.10.202.7
    I have tried following configurations:
    pix(config)#telnet 0 0 inside
    pix(config)#telnet 0 0 outside
    pix(config)#telnet 10.10.200.0 255.255.255.0 outside
    pix(config)#telnet 10.10.202.0 255.255.255.0 inside
    pix(config)#telnet 10.10.200.200 255.255.255.255 outside
    I am able to telnet from internal interface side using inside ip address.
    But from outside test pc with IP 10.10.200.200 I am not able to telnet to PIX.
    I enabled logging console 5.
    when I tried to telnet to outside virtual IP it is not showing any traffic to firewall.
    If I try to outside interface I am able to see the traffic like
    packets received from source 10.10.200.200 to 10.10.200.3
    any help in this configuration. I wanted to telnet firewall from test pc.

  • Need help with Telnet command in JSP

    Here is the code I have been working on but it will not display the buffer to the page..
    String [] cmd1 = {"cmd.exe","/c","telnet hqsun1.xx.xxxxx.com"};
              Process n;
              String T = "" ;
              n = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd1);
              BufferedReader in1 =
              new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(
              n.getInputStream()));
              while((T=in1.readLine()) != null)
              out.println(T+"");
    Maybe someone has done this before? I am trying to acomplish a telnet net session to the screen with some exicuted commands, because this tool is going to be used to help determine system status when the help desk needs to check on something.
    Thanks

    I don't want to be discouraging, but I'm not quite sure you've thought the problem through. You say that you'd like to create a web page capable of providing various pieces of information to the help desk, and you suggest ping and the output of various canned telnet commands as examples.
    What is preventing the help desk from just executing those commands at the command prompt?
    I realize that the people working the help desk are (ahem) there for a reason, but it is really much faster for me to just simply type "ping www.mpalfrey.com" at the prompt, then it is for me to fire up the web browser and wait for a response that way. You will likewise find that it is a lot more convenient to perform diagnosis on remote machines directly from the command prompt.
    Uh, it's kind of like giving someone a screwdriver, then saying, "oh wait a second" and making them wear an oven mitt in order to use the screwdriver.
    But, if you really want to do it this way, the best thing to do is create a wrapper class that directly calls the system command and captures the output to a stringbuffer. Then your JSP page simply has to clone that wrapper via a new() command and trigger it if you go the singleton route. The code would look something like this...
    <%@ import page="com.mpalfrey.shellcommands.ping" %>
    <%
       myPing foo = new myPing( request.getParameter( "victim" ) );
       foo.trigger();
    %>
    Ping results:
    <%=foo.results()%>JSP can do a lot of wonderful things, but that doesn't mean you have to do it that way. :)

  • Telnet Program Help

    I would like to write a program that does the following:
    1. Telnet to a linux machine.
    2. Execute an "ls" command.
    3. Return the output of the "ls" command.
    4. Parse the output for file names and display in a JTable.
    I found a sample program from the Java Forum to Telnet to the machine, but I don't know how to execute a command over telnet and get the output of the command. Can you please help? Thanks.

    Peter,
    I have the following that "works". But I have 2 minor problems left:
    1. How can I detect that the command had finished running? Currently, it's stuck in the while loop in getOutput().
    2. Currently I'm writing the command output to a file. Is there a way to put it into a buffer and return it from the getOutput() function?

  • Help with Telnet

    Hi,
    Although I'm able to reboot my router using Telnet, like so:
    localhost:~ eb$ telnet 192.168.1.1
    Trying 192.168.1.1...
    Connected to 192.168.1.1.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    Password: ******
    Copyright (c) 2001 - 2006 TrendChip Technologies Corp.
    tc> set reboot
    but I'm not sure how to automate this script to run at specific intervals (12 and 7 am).
    Can this be run via applescript or launchd?
    I'd appreciate any help. Many thanks!

    Okay, almost there:
    tell application "Terminal"
    activate
    do script "telnet 192.168.1.1" in front window
    delay 10
    do script "password" in front window
    delay 2
    do script "set reboot" in front window
    do script "quit" in front window
    say "Router Rebooted"
    quit
    end tell
    ..works beautifully, but instead of "delay", can it be like "Wait for password:"?
    Also, hope the script is looking good? Please make it shorter/smarter if possible.
    Many thanks!

  • Transport input telnet ssh help

    Hello,
    I had two questions about remotely login to switch or router :
    1. What is the default setting on switch or router to accept remote login (i.e., telnet or ssh)
    2. If i configure...TRANSPORT INPUT TELNET SSH... which one is default and accepted first by switch or router. I mean I know that it will accept both but I want to know that If I configure both to accept then which one has the first priority or by default which one is accepted first, tenet or ssh.
    Thanks

    1) Default settings on all VTYs are "transport input all" --> all the supported protocols, that includes both telnet and ssh.
    2) There is no priority level on which one is accepted first. Basically it just listens on both protocols (telnet - tcp/23 and ssh - tcp/22) for remote management.
    Here is the command description for your reference:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/termserv/command/reference/tsv_s1.html#wp1069219
    Hope that helps.

  • PLEASE PLEASE help!!! Telnet session echo problem

    All,
    I posted this question before but did not get any solutions. I am posting this again and hopefully someone can help me this time.
    The implementation:
    I have created a GUI based telnet session which simulates UNIX X-term window. I used the JTextArea to gather the input from user and to display the output received from the socket output pipe. I have 1 thread does nothing but listen to the socket output pipe and append whatever received to the text area, the KeyListener interface was used on JTextArea to retrieve user inputs. Every time when key is typed the getKeyChar() is sent to the socket thru the input pipe.
    The problem:
    As mentioned above every time the getKeyChar() is sent to the socket it will be displayed on the TextArea twice (One is user typed and one is received from the socket I guess). So, it's like when you type "ls" it will display "llss". Other than this everything else works fine.
    Can someone PLEASE give me some advice?
    Thank you in advance.
    Leo

    If you can't make the service that you're connecting to stop echoing the characters back to you (which is probably not what you want), you'll need to filter the characters received and strip out the ones you've sent.
    or
    There might be a way to implement a Keyboard input listener and trap the key presses preventing them from being entered into the text area which would solve your problem. The characters in the text area would be the echoed ones.

    Hi,
    What Solaris version you are using? Check whether you have not reached upper limit of pt_tty limit.
    Solaris 8 sets this limit dynamically depending on available free memory but not in older versions. If there are too many telnet sessions are opened, please try to logout some users & check new telnet sessions can be started.
    Thanks,
    Santosh

  • Help(javadoc,telnet,firefox)

    Well i use Linux in my uni and now I'm away from there and I'm connected through telnet with one of the Sun OS boxes.
    I have created the html files(with javadoc) i execute
    firefox My_program.html and the message is Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:.
    How am i supposed to open it?
    Right now,my pc runs Windows and i have a black console in front of me(the telnet staff).
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance!

    1. Install Exceed on your Windows machine and log in to your Linux server through it.
    2. If the server has an HTTP daemon you can probably put the HTML files in ~/public_html and then access them from your home machine using Firefox.
    3. Zip them and e-mail them to yourself / scp them / sftp them.
