Tely Labs telyHD and Panasonic TV

I have Tely Labs telyHD on one side and Panasonic TV on the other. Both newest updates....
Person on Panasonic TV side and see and hear just fine, person on telyHD can hear, but cannot see the other person.
just in case, I also tried both with Windows Skype and that seems to work just fine
any thoughts? I was reading a bit online, it seems Panasonic is not not fully compatible with skype

  • Tely Labs telyHD - Group Video Calling

    Hi there,
I'm thinking about buying the Tely Labs telyHD for use at work. I have a Skype Premium Account but can I use this Tely Labs telyHD for group video calling?

So, this weekend we (5 of us) tested Skype Premium... I was very excited to get the service (as its £2.99 a day, should have been free for 7 days as per the site). http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/group-video-calls/ Thinking as I’m paying for it that it would be great. Found the services less than acceptable…
I have friends in the USA, Spain, South Africa and the UK and the video was less than pleasant. They all reported video dropping out at different times for no reason. My friend in the UK (1.5 hours’ drive away his video was the worst) for me. I hosted the call in the UK and I have a 30MB Fibre Optic line (Virgin, and I get 30MB and 3MB upload - I get this speed many speed tests, not on the same day obviously). I monitored my link and only used max a 150KB of the link with these results. Having this test run, we decided to starts using another product with an “O and ends in an o” (don’t want to advertise other products in this forum) straight after, which is free for group video calling but advert support. Much better experience all the video work and audio was better to.
I’m so disappointed Skype, I was really wanting this to work and to be great. So having paid the money for the service I would like a refund. I think the 15 minutes we used doesn’t justify the day rate. Could someone please contact me and credit my Skype account.
Very disappointed Skype (Microsoft) on the "Premium Service"! This is my honest opinion and not a bashing, I’m not pushing other products merely let people know about the experience.

  • White Balance differences Nikon and Panasonic RAW

Sorry if this is an idiot question.  On recent holdiay my wife and I shot similar photos but I was using a Nikon D200 and she a Panasonic G2, both in RAW.   We combine our photos together afterwards and print them in photobooks. It is therefore important that photos of the same thing are the same colour!  I naively assumed that if I set the colour temp and tint to be the same, assuming the photos were taken in the same light, that this would be the case.  Using the WB dropped on the same white shirt on each photo I am coming up with Nikon settings 4,000 lower in temp and -10 in tint to get a similar colour.
Could some one exlain easily why white isn't the same temp? Is this just that Nikon and Panasonic use proprietary RAW that will always be different? Would it help to convert everything to DNG first?
    Thanks
    Mike

Nikon and Panasonic use different sensors. If you ever shot film, this is like using differnt film stock.
Sensors require a calibration for how they reproduce colour. These calibrations differ, you are offered a choice built into LR for many cameras and can make your own using the free tool from Adobe.. Setting a the same WB across files from different sensors will not in itself produce the same colour response. It may offer a starting point for what is called in the world of film making colour grading.
Other factors also effect colour reproduction, the lens being just one of them and you will be usually using different lenses on a Nikon than on a Lumix camera (although Nikon lenses can of course fit m 4:3's cameras, so you could use the same lens for all the shots which would help).
In the end you will have to colour match the images yourself by eye. You can then create a pre set.
Matching colours taken by different cameras or in different light situations is an art form in itself.  In film and video production colour grading is a full time job.

  • Restriction of Labs/Offices and Document Browser

    Hello Everyone,
I have searched the forum but got no satisfactory answers. We have several plants and locations involved, ours is gropu with 23 companies. My doubts are:
    1.  Can we restrict the labs/offices defined to Document type level?
2.Can we restrict the Document Browser and Authorizations tab to Document type level?
    Thanks.

    Vipin,
In customization settings for Document Types, if we enter "Required Entry (+)" for labs/office and Auth group in the field selection, it will mandatorily ask to input these when you save a new document. If we donu2019t select anything, then it input to lab/office or auth group will not be asked.
Apart from "Required entry", there are 3 more options like "optional entry", "Suppressed Field and "Display field" which are used for different scenarios. Let me know if this answers your questions.
    Regards,
    Sudharshan.

  • How can i use Nikon D 7100 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 with Photoshop CS 5 Camera Raw?

How can i use Nikon D 7100 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1 with Photoshop CS 5 Camera Raw?

The one needs 7.4 (or better), the other 8.1, so Photoshop CS5 with ACR6 is not up to the task.
The free DNG Converter could be used to convert the RAW images to DNG which your version of ACR should be able to process.

  • Mac Pro and Panasonic DV

Have just got a Mac Pro (and am also new to Macs). I have a two year old Panasonic NV-GS15 digital video camera attached via firewire, I can't pick up the camera at all...in i-movie, Final Cut Pro (5.1) or even see it when looking under the firewire port. Have been on Panasonic website and the driver information I found was related to PC/Windows. Have emailed Panasonic but they aren't replying.
    Any suggestions/answers/wishes of luck?

I have same problem with Mac Pro and Panasonic PV-GS120. I went to Apple store and tried Mac Pros over there and they all had the problem. PowerBooks (G4 and Intel) as well as iMacs can all see the camcoder fine and iMovie imports clips without problems. System Profiler does not show any FireWire devices once the camcoder is attached Mac Pro and /var/log/system.log reports that FireWire has been reset multiple times in the last minute. I've filled in the form to escalate issue to Apple but I have no idea when the issues is going to be addressed.

  • DSR30 and Panasonic DV186 tapes

    Hi all,
I've been trying to capture a Panasonic DV186 tape using a Sony DSR30, but FCP keeps stopping the capture. The error message says there is a problem with the tape, but there isn't. Is there a problem with FCP, the DSR30 and Panasonic tapes? Is there a setting I'm missing? We usually use DVCAM tapes with no problems. Thanks!

    John:
Most probably some lack of compatibility. Some time ago we filmed an event with my Panasonic DVX-100 and a SONY as second camera. I tried to capture the Sony tapes in my Panasonic and no matter there was no error message, the video was captured with random errors.
I finally had to sak for the SONY and capture directly from it.
This happens sometime, and I heard the same stories here from time to time.

  • Labs site and firefox

this may already be posted somewhere, but i couldn't see it
and it's finally annoyed me sufficiently enough to post it.
When trying to make your way through the labs site for
various things does anybody using more recent versions of firefox
just have no success ? A life of errors and links that seemingly
    aren't linked ?
    for example :
put the following in ur address bar for firefox:
    http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Spry:FAQ
then put it in IE for the peaches and cream result.
it's not limited to that particular url either .. if you were
    to use:
    http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex_Builder:overview
you would get the same result.
I know the labs site is full of alpha, pre-release, beta apps
and content etc. But if you truly want to make life easy and get
people actively involved you really should at least have the labs
site working consistently, it's not as though firefox is an out
    there browser nobody uses.
Don't get me wrong .. full credit for the whole labs idea,
and am having a great time getting to know flex 2, it's highly
frustrating though when i decide to come back to labs to check out
things etc only to be bummed an error and have to switch browsers!!
p.s. if i'm the only one with this problem i apologise in
    advance : -)
    Cheers,
    Mark

    Hi ur_dtrain, Daniel ...
thanks for the comments, have just tried it out again ( and
as i say, i apologised in advance ) it does appear to be a memory
based problem with the browser. The links work for me for a bit,
but then eventually fail, not all links throughout the site though,
just ones linked in the style as mentioned.
    This isn't Adobe's fault though :-)

  • Completely new to lab view and need to get some stop watch help please

OK I am new to lab view so please be patient with me. I have a need for a stop watch that is triggered to start when two voltage values differ by more than 0.110V and then stop counting when they return to within 0.110v my goal is to capture the total amount of time the two voltages differ and record it along with the rest of the data is this possible and how would I do it? Thanks I am running 8.5

thanks for the quick response but thats not really enough info to help me as I am very very unfamiliar with lab view and have only been using it for a few days(mainly just plugging in copied sections) so hopefully someone can give me a little more help. But the good news is I am now looking into taking one of the Lab view courses but that probably won't help me with this problem this week. thanks again for your help
For starters, try to write the name correctly. It is LabVIEW, not lab view.
Seriously though, your best way of learning to is try some things yourself first. Look through the examples that ship with LabVIEW for the components Raven suggested (while loops, shift registers, etc.) We could give you a working example but you will learn far more by trying things for yourself. As suggested, try a few things and then post what you have done and what you are having trouble with. From there we can answer your questions rather than just do it for you.

  • Transfer and log with mixed formats (Canon 5D and Panasonic GF1)

I've transferred and logged files from 2 cameras (Canon 5D and Panasonic GF1).
Everything was brought in at Apple Pro Res.
I was surprised to find that I could edit 25 FPS video (from the Canon 5D) in the timeline with the GF1 (the GF1 shoots at 30 FPS).
Am I missing something here? I thought that I'd have to go through an extra step to get them to work together, but everything seems fine.
Also, the GF1 is at 720.
Is it going to look bad or not edit well together in the timeline later?
I'm new at this FCP tapeless thing. Should I be worried about how I brought this in?
    Cheers,
    dugmore

Although fcp will mix framerates in the same timeline, you will not get the best quality letting fcp make "automated" decisions.   If you're happy with the way they look, you may be ok, but I would do a test in the final form your program will be taking.  So if you're end use is a video for the web with specific settings, do a test export.  If you are going to be outputting in an interlaced format, do a test and view it on an interlaced monitor, in this format as this is an area where you may see problems.
Also, there might be problems if you are going to finish your audio in another program dealing with material in varying frame rates.
Personally, I almost always convert all material to one format (codec, pixel dimensions and frame rate) before editing.  It's just safer.  Although things will sometimes work ok without doing this, you are taking chances.
If you decide to do the conversion, I'd recommend doing it in compressor where there are options in "frame controls" and "geometry" which will give you tremendous control over the quality.

  • Freetalk Conference webcam and Panasonic products ...

Has anyone had success using a freetalk conference webcam with either a Panasonic smart tv or with a Panasonic blu ray player. I purchased a Panasonic Blu ray player and freetalk webcam from the Skype shop website and only the audio (no video) is being transmitted from the blu ray player on Skype. Skype, Panasonic, and Freetalk have no explaination for my issue, so I would like to know if anyone is successfully using the Freetalk webcam or if I should look to purchase the Pansonic brand webcam for my Panasonic blu ray player to use with Skype.

I followed this link and it worked perfectly for my Freetalk webcam and Panasonic Plasma TV:

    Hi Everyone,
eBuyNow would like to thank everyone for their posts and for being so patient while working hard to find a solution for the compatability issue some people were experiencing with their FREETALK Conference HD camera working with their Panasonic Blu-ray player or Panasonic TV.  The firmware version of some cameras was the reason for the issue.  Please follow the simple steps below to update the firmware version to 2703.
    Step 1
Use a Windows XP or Windows 7 PC.
    Go into link: http://freetalk.ebuynow.com/us/ebuynow/web-cameras/tv-webcams/freetalk-conference-hd-camera-for-panasonic-tvs.html
    Step 2
Scroll down to about half the page and click on the tab “Downloads”.
    Step 3
    Click on "Update your firmware"
    Step 4
Save the Binary File onto your desktop
    Step 5
Plug the Camera into the Windows PC’s using any available USB port
    Step 6
Click to open the Binary File you had saved
A pop-up/ dialog box will open on your screen “Freetalk Conference Firmware Update” – ensure that your pop-up blocker is off
    Step 7
    Click “Update Firmware” button
(When the Firmware update is successful, the text “Reload Complete” will appear in the white box at the bottom of the dialog box. The firmware update process is now complete)
    Step 8
Unplug the camera from the Windows PC
You may now follow the steps of connecting the camera to your Panasonic TV or Panasonic Blu-ray player and enjoy Skype video calls from your TV!
