Template and Javascript

Hi, I have a form that has a template to add an additional page if the user needs more space to write in.
I use this script:
var oPage = this.pageNum;
var a = this.getTemplate("Additional");
name
a.spawn ({
nPage: this.numPages+1,
bRename:true,
bOverlay:false
On the bottom of the form and each additional page the user needs to add on, is a coding block that must be on all pages. The coding block is the same information on all the other pages that is on the first page (lower section of each form.) Is there a way to write the script so that the field names in the coding block section only do not get renamed, but keep the same name as on the original document so that this information is the same on all pages?
I use Adobe X Professional.
Thanks

Hi, thanks for getting back with me on this. My question now is this. I have a button that says "Additional Pages" that the user would click on to spawn a template page. Where would I put the script for the second template where the bRename would be false, and bOverly to true? Also, the script that I used above, is actually a little more detailed, it is:
var oPage = this.pageNum;
var a = this.getTemplate("Additional");
a.spawn ({
nPage: this.numPages+1,
bRename:true,
bOverlay:false
this.pageNum++;
I didn't know if that made a different or not.  Thanks
Connie

  • Anychart: Bug when using chart template and Javascript

    Hi all,
    When I create a chart using custom xml and a template -
    <templates path="#IMAGE_PREFIX#Chart_templates/my_chart_template.xml"/>If I call toggle a series using some javascript:
       var chart = getChart(); // function created by the chart embedding javascript to capture a reference to the chart object
       chart.showSeries('population_average', $('input[is_series_toggle="true"]').is(':checked'));
       chart.refresh();The series is toggled correctly but the chart is refreshed without applying the chart template, so it looks ugly.
    Anychart claim this is an Apex specific issue because Apex uses a special build of Anychart? Anyone else encountered this problem and have a workaround. Or any other suggestions would be welcome.

    Hello Sara,
    The behavior you are describing is a long time known issue. It is a bug that should have been resolved by now, but for some reason was not. Maybe it’s because none of the default (built-in) page templates is using images with TABs.
    The workaround is to create your own img tag in the appropriate page template section, using the #TAB_NAME# substitution string. The principle is to name your corresponding images like current_#TAB_NAME#.gif and non_current_#TAB_NAME#.gif, where the #TAB_NAME# part in the file name is replaced with the actual tab name. So, for a TAB called EMP, you’ll have two image files by the names current_EMP.gif and non_current_EMP.gif.
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • May Release: New partner support, Infrastructure updates, Site templates and bug fixes

    Link: http://www.businesscatalyst.com/_blog/BC_Blog/post/May-release-New-partner-support-Infrast ructure-updates-Site-templates-and_bug-fixes/
    We are announcing a new Business Catalyst release, scheduled to go live on Thursday, May 3rd. With this release, we are continuing our investments in system performance and stability by increasing our web servers capacity, enabling HTTP acceleration to provide faster site loading times, and improving the site creation speed by using pre-generated sites.
    On the product side, we have completely revamped our partner support workflow taking advantage of the Adobe support infrastructure and tools, enhanced the site templates workflow for partners, and included lots of bug fixes and improvements. Read through the following sections to get detailed information about this release:
    Partner support
    Infrastructure updates
    Features and enhancements
    Issues fixed by this release
    What's next
    You can jump to the corresponding section by clicking the above links.
    Partner support
    Updated Help & Support partner experience
    Following Adobe ID support, we have upgraded BC  support tools (cases, chat, documentation) with standard Adobe tools. As a partner, you can now benefit from the same support tools as the rest of Adobe Creative Suite, and can track your support cases with Adobe BC, Dreamweaver, Muse or Photoshop in a single place.
    Partners with more than 100 paid sites will get 2nd level chat support, which includes a higher priority, by default. If you have more than 100 paid sites, but spread across different Partner Portals, please ask support to enable 2nd level chat for you.
    Support experience for your Small Business owner clients can now be owned by partners (see below).
    Custom Help & Support URL for your clients
    As a partner, you are probably already offering various additional services to your clients besides building & maintaining their BC site. Support, tailored specifically to your client needs, is usually one of these value-added services. We are now enabling you to take your Support service to the next level. In  Partner Portal Settings, you have the option to set a custom URL for what will open when your client clicks on Help & Support inside Admin Console:
    If you have multiple partner accounts, for different verticals, you can specify a Support URL for each of these.
    The default Support experience provided by BC for your clients will be updated in a few releases to be similar to the partner support experience. This includes BC-branded support cases and documentation. If you'd like to keep a white-label experience for your customers, please set your own Help & Support URL in Partner Portal.
    For more details please read the Improved support workflow and new forums announcement on our blog.
    Infrastructure updates
    Between our April release and the following infrastructure updates have been enabled
    Limited trial sites for free partners – starting with our May release, the number of trial sites a Free Partner can have will be limited to 100. Once the limit is reached, Free Partners that need to create a new trial site have the options to upgrade to a higher partner plan, upgrade some of the trial sites to paid or delete unused/expired trials.
    Automatic trial expiry extension - with this release, trial site expiry date will be automatically extended with 30 days every time an admin user logs in  the system through the admin interface or through FTP.
    Installed additional hardware - we have installed additional web servers on all our data centers, that translate into an increase of the existing capacity with over 70%.
    Updated DNS infrastructure - we have improved the DNS resolution for email delivery so that we can increase the rate at which we're sending the system operational emails
    HTTP acceleration – all sites static assets are served from a new cache engine (images, CSS and JavaScript files, together with improved headers that should allow the browser to cache them better for a browsing session). This update has been turned on along with our April release, and has made all the BC sites load faster on first and on subsequent loads.
    Accelerated site/partner creation – we've changed the way new sites are created for faster speed, pre-creating them and reusing pre-created sites when needed, and have also improved the creation process for new partners, minimizing the impact of new CCM customers on the existing datacenters.
    Adobe ID for partners - in order to support an integrating experience between the various Adobe tools a partner may use (Dreamweaver, Muse, Support forums) we have added Adobe ID support for Business Catalyst partner accounts. Starting April 19, partners are asked to merge their current Business Catalyst account with their Adobe ID accounts. For more details about the transition process and FAQ please read the Introducing Adobe ID blog post.
    Updated Terms of Use - Along with several other changes in our processes in the past few months, we also revamped our Terms of Use and the signature process by requesting every admin user to sign a TOU. We have completed the rollout for partners, and we might be pushing an updated partner Terms of Use version within the following weeks. For more details and questions about this change, read the New Terms of Use for Business Catalyst blog post.
    Features and enhancements
    Site templates
    To support the increasing number of partners building, sharing or reusing  templates to create  new sites, we're extending our site templates support from our partner portal with a new template type and improved  management support. The update is going to enable partners to mark sites as templates and   choose between making them available in Online Business Builder and keeping them private in their partner portal. A template site will not expire and has the same limits as any other trial site.
    Based on your partner level, you can create private or public templates using the Site Details screen or the Tools>My Site Template section from your Partner Portal. Standard partners can only create private templates, while Free Partners can only view site templates that have been transferred to their accounts by other partners.
    The number of templates a partner will have will be limited and will vary based on partner level: free partners can store up to 5 templates in their partner portal, standard partners have up to 100 site templates while Premium Partners might have up to 200 templates. Paid sites marked as templates are not counted against these limits.
    Business Catalyst Partner fixes
    While we are really focused on making the Business Catalyst integration into Creative Cloud a smashing success, we are slowly resuming our efforts to deliver fixes that have been requested by our partners. This release includes the following partner fixes:
    Improved product custom fields - we have increased the maximum number of characters for product custom fields to 1024 (previous limit was 256); this gives partners and customers additional space to use when working with products
    Improved Secure Zone subscribers list - we have added the customer email address in the Secure Zone Subscribers list to enable partners better filter and manage customers
    Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
    Social plugins integration updates
    Starting with our May release, we are updating the social plugins support to require users to get the plugin code from the third party provider and saving into his Business Catalyst website. The module tags and configuration will remain unchanged, but will render an empty tag until the partner or site owner will  update the module template to include the corresponding module code snippet from the third party platform provider.
    For more information about how you can enable the Social Plugins on a Business Catalyst websites, read the Social Media: Integrating Facebook and Twitter knowledge base article.
    Other changes
    Updated weekly emails - Starting with our May release, the information in the site weekly emails has been filtered based on the site's plan. For example, webBasics site reports will no longer include the sales report.
    Localization - we improved and increased the coverage of the admin interface translations into German, French and Japanese
    Site Settings -> Ignored IP addresses has been relocated under Reports -> Visitors -> More.
    BC-Dreamweaver integration performance improvements
    Development Dashboard has been removed, as it didn't provide a clear useful, ongoing benefit. The information present in the development dashboard has been integrated into our new Help & Support section.
    Payment gateway settings - for more privacy and data protection, we have updated the Payment Gateway configuration screens to obfuscate the sensitive login information. Fields that have been obfuscated are now requiring confirmation.
    Report abuse badge on trial sites - for compliance reasons, a "Report Abuse" link has been added to the front-end of all trial sites of free partners that don't have any paid sites. When they click the Report Abuse link, site visitors are redirected to a form submission page on businesscatalyst.com site.

    What's next
    The first item on the what's next list might not be news for many of you, but it's definitely one of the most important milestones this year. The Creative Cloud launch is just around the corner, and Business Catalyst is playing an important role in that, as the publishing platform for Adobe® Muse and Dreamweaver. This launch will capture all our attention within the next weeks as we want it to be our best ever.
    We'll start our next development cycle on May 15th, while the next Business Catalyst release is going to be pushed live in mid June. That being said, the following items are already on our launch plan for the next release and a few more will join the list. Please expect an update on our 2012 plans around mid May.
    HTTP throttling – all page load and API calls to BC will be protected against attacks, this might trigger problems for API heavy sites. We are looking into enabling this update along with our June release, and will help make sure that a reasonable number of requests will be accepted from the same computer per minute.
    Automatic site deletion - Starting with the June release, we are going to start automatically delete expired trial sites and canceled sites. Customers will be notified twice before we are going to proceed with deleting the sites.
    Thank you,
    Cristinel Anastasoaie
    Adobe Business Catalyst Product Manager

    In reference to this change in the Custom Reports... Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
    What is the customer confusion we are trying to stop here? I've got even more confused customers at the moment because all of a sudden they can't find the export to excel option but know it exists if they log in on a PC?

  • Adobe Acrobat as a server to create PDF using PDF templates and field values

    I'm writing a web page to create a PDF using fields that we ask for them in the screen.
    My idea is:
    1. Ask for field values (text values and a photo) in my web
    2. Run Adobe Acrobat to load a PDF template (PDF form) and mix with the field values
    3. Create a final PDF mixing values and template
    4. Show to document to the user in his client web browser. I guess the only way to do that is to create the PDF on a server with Adobe Acrobat Pro and send to the user browser a JPEG that will represent the  PDF: If I do this operation in the PDF visor at the client browser, the problem is that it will will be mandatory to install Adobe Acrobat in each cliente because only this visor can manage javascript.
    Can you tell me if this idea is correct? It is possible to use Adobe Acrobat on a Server to create PDF when some proccess needs?

    and what other Adobe product o procedure can we use to do that?
    I only need to create a PDF mixing PDF Templete, field values and javascript.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Template and child pages do not match

    Hi, there are several issues here and I'm pretty sure they're linked so I'll tell you them all. I was recently editing my website and I was changing the title of a page a created. I noticed that after I changed the name, when I clicked off it it just went back to the default title in the template. I then looked up how to sort and I think I changed a few bit of coding (I can't remember what though, sorry. It seemed to work. Then I decided to add another page which I listed in the navbar... when I got round to pressing save on the template, this happened....
    (http://ScrnSht.com/vttvzm)
    I'm sorry to sound so vague but I can't really remember what I did. Anyway, it says this for nearly every page when you save the template. I've noticed some of the coding on the template and the child pages do not match. This is the code on the template.

    Is there any way I can just create a new template to match the pages already created?
    Sorry if I sound silly but this is my first post on these forums and I'm not really sure what you need to know.
    Gabriel

    You can do everything, (and I mean absolutely EVERYTHING) in a regular HTML page that you can do in a DWT, and you don't have any of the parent/child/editable/non-editable/nested/nesting region problems that you will get with DWT's until you are very highly proficient at coding HTML and know exactly how to lay one out from the start so these things don't happen.
    DWT's are good for putting together a "mockup" to show a client, and have a good idea of the layout you will eventually use. They are also good for a teaching tool (the only time I ever created one was part of a class). If you have a group of people working on a site together, they are helpful too, but if none of the above apply, just make a plain HTML page and "Save As" when you need to make additional pages from it.

  • Template inclusion/Javascript issue for doc header's custom fields

    Hi all gurus,
    premise: I'm absolutely a newbie about templates and Jscript.
    I'm facing a strange behaviour for a field and I'd like to get your help on it, I'm running out of ideas.
    I modified a custom field, a checkbox, which automatically makes a second custom field active and editable.
    The logic is really simple: if the checkbox ( ZZ0LEGGE ) is checked, then the second field ( ZZ0DESCR ) is editable.
    This is managed in the template by using a Jscript function that is triggered by the event OnClick related to the checkbox.
    These two field are part of a template, say T1, which is used as an include in a pair of "main", custom templates, say T2 (additional header custom data) and T3 (document variant). These two screens are custom on an old SRM3 system.
    When working on the additional header custom data (Template T2), both buttons work fine; each time the checkbox is checked/unchecked, the screen is updated and the second field turns into active/not active as consequence.
    Working instead on the document variant screen (Template T3) leads to a wrong behaviour.
    Checking/unchecking the checkbox doesn't refresh the screen accordingly to the selection, but loads the T2 template.
    Guess there's something missing on the Javascript fuction associated with the checkbox in T1, because it will always trigger a refresh of T2, no matter the template in which it is included.
    Here are the templates:
    Template T1: [SAPLBBP_PDH_CUF 100 |http://pastebin.com/U39i5j7N]
    Template T2: [SAPLBBP_CTR_UI_ITS 9001|http://pastebin.com/3AhKRjt7]
    Template T3: [SAPLBBP_CTR_UI_ITS 9003|http://pastebin.com/4ZHtjz0r]
    The checkbox field in T1 is called ZZ0LEGGE; the "controlled" field is instead ZZ0DESC.
    Waiting for your help... thanks once again

    Ok I found an interesting starting point to focus on... I changed the simple fuction associated to the event onClick(), triggered when the checkbox is set/unset, simply using the parameters for TargetOkCode used in Template 3:
    function zOkRefresh(){
            TargetSetOkCode('`PB_OKCH.okcode`','','`bbpformname`'); //new (works for T3)
    //        TargetSetOkCode('=ZCTR_CUST1','','BBPForm');                //old one (worked for T2)
    and now the checkbox works properly in Template 3 but - obviously - stops working in Template 2.
    So it seems that zOkRefresh should dynamically decide which parameters must be used, depending on the "upper" template:
    - if the template that includes T1 is T2, then call TargetSetOkCode('=ZCTR_CUST1','','BBPForm'); if T1 is used in T3, then call TargetSetOkCode('`PB_OKCH.okcode`','','BBPForm').
    Since I'm not able to write down the script described above, can anyone help me putting that IF statement in script code? How to determine what's the "including" template in Javascript?
    Thanks again!

  • How to embed a HTML Page in a Web Template and display it

    Hi All
    Can you please share ideas how I can embed a HTML page in a web template and how I can make it displayed as a popup when a button is pressed.
    Also, how do I call a HTML page stored in Portal KM from the press of a button in the web template.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Karen

    Using C# or javascript to authenticate the user to AD to read the property directly will be very difficult. Creating a custom user profile property and adding a sync from AD to that property is definitely the easiest way to do what you are describing.
     Once its in User Profiles there are lots of samples on how to add it to the page.

  • Working with Templates and Automatic Code Changes

    I am working in DW CS6.
    I am creating a new page based on a template and when DW creates the new page, it is automatically changing the paths to the links to .css and .js files.  These changes are breaking the template.  Is there a way to keep the auto-changes from occurring?
    BTW - All the pages were created with a different template and I was able to modify the pages and apply this template to those pages without a problem.  All is beautiful.
    Original Code in the Template:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    Code once I create a page using the template:

    Always set site links to "Document" unless you NEED "Site Root". If you don't know whether you need them, then you don't need them. When you understand that you need them and why you need them, then you can use "Site Root"!
    Good advice.

  • Button Item and JavaScript

    Hi everyone
    I am trying to execute a Javascript function when a button item is pressed. This javascript execute a doSubmit() in order to called a branch of the page.
    I tryed to make this using this code, first in a branch (PL/SQL) and then in a PL/SQL process, but did not work, "chkSubmit(false)" function is not being called.
    begin
    htp.init;
    htp.p('<script language = "javascript">');
    htp.p('<!-'||'- Comment out script for old browsers');
    htp.p('function callFunction()');
    htp.p('{');
    htp.p(' chkSubmit(false);');
    htp.p('}');
    htp.p('callFunction();');
    htp.p('-'||'->');
    htp.p('</script>');
    end;
    Does anybody knows how can I fixed this problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrés

    Instead of fighting it, what I end up doing is just
    create a plain HTML button in the Post Element Text
    of the previous item and put my function there
    <input type="button" class="..." value="Click me!" onClick="foo()" />A tip for using "Post Element" buttons:
    Check out the HTML that gets generated using "View Source" in your browser
    (in Firefox, that's Ctrl-U).   The biggest problem is getting the display right.
    The HTML generated uses <td> <label> and <span> elements, so a simple
       <input type="button" value="Add Filter" onClick="somefunc()">
    looks bloody awful.  You need a bit more to make it line up nicely.
    Here's what I have for a button that displays at the end of a row of region items,
    each of which has its label above it:
    <td  colspan="1" rowspan="1" align="left">
      <label for="P1_foo" tabindex="999">
        <span class="t10OptionalLabel">foo label</span>
      </label>
      <br><input type="button" id="P1_foo" value="foo" onClick="alert('foo!');">
    </td>
    You might be using a different template and/or layout than I am, so DO go to the
    browser and figure out what HTML is being generated.  If you don't want the label,
    substitute " " for "foo label" in the example above.  It's a snap from there.

    There are dozens of CSS attributes that can (and have to) be handwritten. Trouble with them is that, like text shadows, they don't appear in all browsers. I have nine different browsers installed and test pages in ALL of them before I "finish" building site or page for a template.
    I try to build for Firefox, out of personal preference for it, but I have to do things that work with IE because it still holds the market share (46%IE to 42%FF), and I will only go with designs that work in IE, FF, NS, Opera, Safari, and Chrome.
    As to your questions.
    1. The compatibility check is most likely current with the time of the build. I don't know if that component updates as browsers do, but I'd tend to think it doesn't. I'm using CS4  and there haven't been any updates for it in nearly a year. Firefox has released 4.0, Opera released 11, and Safari released 5 since then. The updater would have found and downloaded something if it was available.
    2. I could only guess. Text shadows DON'T show up in design view (or in IE) but they do in browser preview. It's just a UI quirk, and it means "trial and error" is the onyl way to get what you want.
    3. The quick-selects which are in DW dropdowns or popouts are the ones most  common to CSS designs and have been proven to work with all browsers at the time of release of your particular build of DW.
    Hope that helps..

  • What is difference between Site template and web template

    What is difference between Site template and web template

    Both are almost same, are you referring to Site Definitions vs web template?, if so, refer to the following post

  • How is the length of a string calculated in Java?  and JavaScript?

    Hi all,
    Do any of you know how the length of a string is being calculated in Java and JavaScript? For example, a regular char is just counted as 1 char, but sometimes other chars such as CR, LF, and CR LF are counted as two. I know there are differences in the way Java and JavaScript calculate the length of a string, but I can't find any sort of "rules" on those anywhere online.
    Thanks,
    Yim

    What's Unicode 4 got to do with it? 1 characteris 1
    character is 1 character.
    strings now contain (and Java chars also) is
    UTF-16 code units rather than Unicode characters
    or
    code points. Unicode characters outside the BMPare
    encoded in Java as two or more code units. So it would seem that in some cases, a single
    "character" on the screen, will require two charsto
    represent it.So... you're saying that String.length() doesn't
    account for that? That sux. I don't know. I'm just making infrerences (==WAGs) based on what DrClap said.
    I assume it would return the number of chars in the array, rather than the number of symbols (glyphs?) this translates into. But I might have it bass ackwards.

  • Problem with template and ie

    I'm running through a weirg problem here. I've designed my webpage and everything worked fine in chrome , firefox and explorer 8. So I saved it as a template and created a basic page with it (normal html/css here, very simple). The probleme is that now, everything is messed up but only in explorer (page not centered, big empty space added somewhere). And then, when I remove the editable regions markers ( <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" --> <!-- TemplateEndEditable --> ...) and save it back as a normal html page without templates, it is working fine again.
    Can someone help me please?
    Thanks!

  • Closing the browser windows created by web.show_document and javascript

    From Forms I am issuing a http request using web.show_document and javascript:window.open(). The http request makes a remote procedure call to a coldfusion component on a JRun appserver. I want this rpc to fire in the background so that the current forms browser window remains as is.
    The logic is as follows
    l_rpcURL := 'http://....just a standard URL.....'; -- edited for this thread
    l_jsURL := 'javascript:window.open("' || l_rpcURL || '","","fullscreen=no,titlebar=no,location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,status=no,resizable=no");self.close();';
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT (l_jsURL,'_blank');
    The http request works fine but leaves a browser window behind. It's the one created by the javascript.window.open(). If I remove the self.close() from the javascript then I have two browser windows open, one from web.show_document and the other, as described previously, from the window.open().
    Any idea how I can force closure of the window opened by the window.open() ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    did this occured afer installing service pack 2?
    A work around is The only solution that is to create a close.html file and calling this file in the code: Web.show_document('http://server:port/close.html','_self');
    <html>
    <body onload="closeit()">
    <script>
    window.close();
    </script>
    </body>
    </html>
