Template based approach

Hi All,
I want to create an interface that extracts data from stable and loads it to a flat file.
Say, I have to do it for 10 tables which are in 7 different Databases.
Is there a mechanism to have a template and just pass table name , DB name and filters for each instantiation.
something similar to having a form and passing parameters to it, to get the job done.
I see a problem to this approach in ODI because of the target and source mappings. Is there a way to bypass this mapping or make ODI handle it automatically.
I am fairly new to ODI , so if anyone has done it already please guide through the steps.
Regards
Manisha

Hi Manisha,
The post from actdi combined with the ability to loop in an ODI package should give you the result you are looking for.
https://blogs.oracle.com/dataintegration/entry/using_variables_in_odi_creatin
I've combined both to essentially loop through a database table containing all target servers for a given table. I use the same interface to load each target table on 1-n target servers.
Enjoy!

  • How can I insert a widget slideshow into a template-based page in Dreamweaver

HI, I Have a question that has been nagging me for the last three hours.
I have been trying to insert a slideshow into a template based document using the insert widget function in Dreamweaver CS 5.5.  The problem is that I contine to get the error that
"This widget requires code that must be inserted into the head of the current document.  Insertion cannot happen because the head of this document is read only."
I have tried to edit the template file in order to make the head tag into an editable region.  I have tried to resolve the problem by eliminating the
    <!-- #BeginEditable "doctitle" --> function call and instead using the <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="head" -->
function, but all that does is grey out all the code on the page following the this function call.  The other side effect of using this method is that the child documents do not even have a header anymore.
I do not know if this is just a lack of understanding how this works, or if there is a bug in Dreamweaver.
Any help in this subject wold be appreciated.
The original HTML for the template in question is below.
    Header 1

Unfortunately, I have tried it, but continue to recieve the same error message.  I have double checked the syntax and positioning of the editable regions, and they match yours completely.  In the child page everything is editable.  Do you have any other suggestions for this perplexing problem?  Thanks
Here is the syntax of the header tag from the child page showing all of the editable regions:

  • Refreshing drop down list in a web template based on a query view

Refreshing drop down list in a web template based on a query view
I have just developed my first set of portal pages displaying the results of Bex queries and query views in the SAP Netweaver portal. I developed the pages using web application designer. Each web template created with W.A.D is using a query or query view. In one template I have that is using a query view I am using a variable in my Bex query. This variable is of type customer exit, is set to variable is ready for input and calls some ABAP code which returns the current fiscal week number and year. When I run the query or query view in isolation through Bex analyzer the variables gets populated correctly. In my web template I have associated my variable from my query view to a drop down list box. However when I run the Iview created from this template the query results get refreshed but my drop down list box does not, it still shows last weeks week number. How do I get the drop down list box to refresh with the latest result from my customer exit variable?

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to  filter a calendar based a look up column in SharePoint 2013.
Calendar View not support OOTB filters connection. it is disabled for calendar view, you need to change view(not calendar view) so OOTB filters works and get connected to your view.
You can achieve this using combination of jQuery and SharePoint OOB techniques.
For jQuery filters refer to the  blog: enter SharePoint List Filters using jQuery
Also you can filter Calendar View Web Part using JQuery and SPServices:
    http://blogs.visigo.com/chriscoulson/filter-a-sharepoint-calendar-list-with-a-date-picker/
    http://joshmccarty.com/2011/11/sharepoint-jquery-and-fullcalendar%E2%80%94now-with-spservices/

Another  way, you can have a look at the SPFilterCalendar :

  • Trigger based approach to capture changes in OLTP DB

I have this scenario where we need to capture changes (updates/deletes) to transaction tables in our OLTP database. The changes will be populated to temp tables and then moved to Hadoop for analysis. The OLTP table record huge volume of data on a daily basis, some tables having thousands of updates every day and some having a few million.
We have thought of using a trigger-based approach, where a trigger in the OLTP tables will take care of inserting records in the temp tables. It will be a "After Update and Delete" trigger as:
    IF updating THEN
          BEGIN
insert into temp table // insert statement here
          EXCEPTION
             WHEN others THEN
               null;
          END;
      ELSIF DELETING THEN
         BEGIN
insert into temp table //insert statement here
          EXCEPTION
             WHEN others THEN
               null;
          END;
       END IF;
END;Please let me know if this is an acceptable approach. Are there any better ways of doing the same?
    I am using Oracle 11g r1.

    >
So, as a test, I created a table called test, with a PK on col1.
Then, I created a MV on it,
Next, I inserted 2 records, committed, and deleted 1 record, and did commit.
The RUPD$_TEST is empty, but the MLOG$_TEST has data.
    >
The RUPD$_TEST is a temporary table that Oracle creates and uses with primary key based MV logs. As a temporary table you won't see data in it unless your session puts data there.
    >
But how do I read this data?
    >
What data? You didn't log any data to read.
Here is an example that doesn't even use a primary key - just a plain old table with familiar data.
create table emp_copy as select * from emp
create materialized view log on emp_copy
with rowid, sequence (empno, ename, job, mgr, hiredate, sal, comm, deptno)
    including new values;
insert into emp_copy (empno, ename) values (9999, 'test')
    delete from  emp_copy where empno = 7369
update emp_copy set job = 'NEW JOB' where empno = 7499
    select * from mlog$_emp_copy
    EMPNO     ENAME     JOB     MGR     HIREDATE     SAL     COMM     DEPTNO     M_ROW$$     SEQUENCE$$     SNAPTIME$$     DMLTYPE$$     OLD_NEW$$     CHANGE_VECTOR$$     XID$$
    9999     test                                   AAAUayAAEAAAAJVAAO     1     1/1/4000     I     N     FEFF     844454994905658
    7369     SMITH     CLERK     7902     12/17/1980     30          20     AAAUayAAEAAAAJVAAA     2     1/1/4000     D     O     0000     844454994905658
    7499     ALLEN     SALESMAN     7698     2/20/1981     1600     300     30     AAAUayAAEAAAAJVAAB     3     1/1/4000     U     U     0800     844454994905658
    7499     ALLEN     NEW JOB     7698     2/20/1981     1600     300     30     AAAUayAAEAAAAJVAAB     4     1/1/4000     U     N     0800     844454994905658SNAPTIME$$ shows the SEQUENCE of events.
    XID$$ shows the transaction id
    DMLTYPE$$ I/D/U for Insert/Update/Delete
For the Insert you can see the new EMPNO and ENAME
For the Delete you can see the values that were in the deleted row
For the Update you can see the old job 'SALESMAN' in sequence #3 and the new job 'NEW JOB' in sequence #4
Just pull the data that you haven't mined/processed yet based on SNAPTIME$$ and then delete those rows when you are done with them.
It took a few minutes to create that example and start collecting change data. Oracle will collect the changes automatically. All the user needs to do is manage the MV Log to keep it from growing indefinitely.
For some uses you may not need the actual column values; maybe you just want to know what ROWS in the table changed. This modified example uses ROWID but you could use primary key instead.
create materialized view log on emp_copy
    with rowid, sequence;
insert into emp_copy (empno, ename) values (9999, 'test')
    delete from  emp_copy where empno = 7369
update emp_copy set job = 'NEW JOB' where empno = 7499
    select * from mlog$_emp_copy
    M_ROW$$     SEQUENCE$$     SNAPTIME$$     DMLTYPE$$     OLD_NEW$$     CHANGE_VECTOR$$     XID$$
    AAAUa3AAEAAAR+mAAA     5     1/1/4000     I     N     FEFF     1.68898729922029E15
    AAAUa3AAEAAAR+jAAA     6     1/1/4000     D     O     0000     1.68898729922029E15
AAAUa3AAEAAAR+jAAB     7     1/1/4000     U     U     0800     1.68898729922029E15There are the ROWIDs for the rows that have changed. The row for the delete MAY not be in the table anymore. The original row with that ROWID was deleted (SNAPTIME$$ = 6) but there could be a later INSERT whose row now has that ROWID. And if ROW MOVEMENT is enabled the rowid of a row could change.
For that last example you would access the MASTER table (emp_copy) and pull rows based on ROWID. Those are the rows that have 'changed' since the last time you mined the MV log.
I don't know how it can get any simpler than that! ;)

  • How to default the  template based on a responsibility

    Hello All,
I am working on 12.1.1 and XML Publisher version 10.1.3.2.1
I have a concurrent program with multiple templates, one each for different language/territory combinations. The layout of each template is different. In the template definition, I have different localized template files for each lang/terr combination
    template_en_GB- UK
    template_en_IE - Ireland
    template_de_DE -Germany
    template_sv_SE -Sweden
    Template_en -Default
When the user submits the request, for UK, Ireland and Germany it picks the correct template as defined in the territory but for Sweden the template is always defaulted to the default template file in the template definition and the user needs to change it to their desired template each time. How do I default the template based on the language/territory of Sweden combination. It is working fine for all other territories buit not for Sweden. We have not used the add.layout option in any report so I don't want to use that option.
Is any setup I am missing for Sweden?
We are having Sweden rollout soon.
    Thanks,
    Joohi

  • User-managed image gallery in template-based html site?

I've created a simple, template-based html/css site for a client and they've asked for a set of sales pages for their vans and cars.  The idea is that there'll be an entry page, which has an itemised list (thumbnail pic, title and a couple of sentences), which then links to individual template-based pages on which the full information is listed.
So far I've given the client a copy of Macromedia Contribute.  No problems there.  However, it would be great to have a relatively simple image gallery which will display up to, say, 10 pix.
The problem is that without a complex back-end CMS, I need to find a user-friendly (ie, not technical) gallery system which I can either embed into the template, or set up so it can be easily added to a page.
Am I being overly optimistic here, or is there an option (ideally free, of course!) which someone can recommend?  My ideal is something that could be accessed and updated through Contribute, but if there's a standalone app which can do it once the page has been created in Contribute, that would be fine.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Template-based ssi causing problems

I'm working on a small site that has a sidebar listing news features, which the client needs to edit.  The sidebar list appears throughout the site so I set it up as an SSI in the base template.  The editable items in the sidebar are repeating elements with some internal structure, so I based the SSI on a template to make the items easy for the client to edit in Contribute.
There's no problem editing the template-based SSI itself in Contribute, and there's no problem editing the pages in Contribute when the SSI is not included.  The problem arises when I try to edit any of the pages in Contribute once the SSI is included; they no longer function properly. Several pages have editable regions that are also comprised of editable, repeating list items, but the buttons in Contribute for adding, deleting, and moving these repeating regions on those pages no longer do anything once the SSI is incorporated into the page.
If I change the SSI so it is not template based -- make it just raw html -- the problem goes away.  (Unless I can find a solution, I'll have to go this route although it makes it harder for the client to edit the contents of the SSI.)  So the problem isn't the SSI; it's when the SSI is based on a template.
There are no <body> or <head> tags in the template-based SSI; just the sidebar <ul> snippet with editable, repeating regions. I've tried changing the SSI extension to .shtml, .inc, .htm, etc. to no avail.
I can think of many scenarios where an SSI needs to be editable and, at the same time, has enough structure that I would want to base it on a template to facilitate editing in Contribute.  But a template-based SSI seems to make Contribute choke.
I'd appreciate any help on this.

Have you renamed the file with an *.shtm(l) extension?

  • Choose display template based on result type - Content search webpart

    Hi
Is it possible to choose display template based on result type in content search webpart same like search results web part? If not available can it be achieved programmatically?
The content search web part is queried against document content type. Based on the document type, the document has to be seen in the hover template.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to choose display template based on result type as search result Webpart in Content Search Webpart.
You could customize your display template for Content Search Web Part, please refer to this article:
    http://www.benprins.net/2014/05/21/sharepoint-2013-custom-display-template-for-content-by-search-web-part/

  • Display Templates based on Roles

    Hi,
I have a requirement in which i need to display different template based on the user roles(eg : Manager, Clerk ..) .Is it posible??
    Thank you

    Hi,
perhaps you can use a single layout-rtf and use conditional regions to choose the layout you wish at runtime. If you have different layout-rtfs I would say it depends on the calling application and how you call BI Publisher.

  • Third Party Integration for Template Based Hire in PS 9.1

    Hi All,
I am implementing template based hire on PS 9.1.
I am receiving the applicant details from a third party vendor in a xml message.
Requirement is to insert the applicant details into template based hire records (HR_TBH_HDR and HR_TBH_DATA).
I am able to subscribe the field values from xml message. But facing the problem while inserting the values into base records.
I am trying to use Component Interface on HR_TBH_JOB component. The pages on this component are dynamically build and so the records.
If anyone has worked on the third party integration for Template Based Hire in PS 9.1, please let me know your suggestion for insertion into template based hire records.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi Michel,
I am not getting any error message as I haven't completed the coding yet.
I will go more on the technical stuff so that the issue will be more clear.
I am using the Integration Broker setup to receive the xml message from third party.
I have written the app package and added that as handler into the service operation. as of now I am able to subscribe the xml message. I am having the field values into the variables.
For insertion of those values into template based hire (TBH) records (HR_THB_HDR and HR_TBH_DATA) I created a new CI on HR_TBH_JOB component.
But when I analysed this component I came to know that Pages, Sections on the Pages and the fields of the sections are dynamically build based on the Template.
On HR_TBH_DATA page PeopleSoft is using derived record (HR_TBH_SCR_WRK). Field values are assigned to this record fields bsaed on the section of the template.
Here is issue I am facing while coding. As there is only one record (HR_TBH_SCR_WRK) to store the all the values from the template, I am not able to understand that how to assign the variables to CI variable. I am looking for the logic, so that the CI will work normally.
If you have any sugestion to insert the data into TBH records other than using CI, will be appriciated.
    Thanks

  • Problem inserting FLV into template based page DW8

Error when inserting an FLV into a template based page.
The error is: "Making this change would require changing code
that is locked by a template or translator. The change will be
    discarded."
I thought perhaps something was wrong with my code so I
created a new page in DW8, with one word of text. Saved the new
page as a template with the one word of text made into an editable
region. Created a page based on that template and attempted to
insert a FLV file into the editable region (using Insert > Media
    > Flash Video). I still get the error message. I've attached the
    code for this page.
I also get the error message when I go through the tutorial
    Presenting
Video with the Flash Video Component in Dreamweaver 8. Using
the files provided in the tutorial.
Is the only workaround for this the one I found here?:
    http://med.stanford.edu/irt/web/references/flash_video_installation.html.
Steps are under heading "Workaround for Locked Code insert error"
    near bottom of page.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • #PAGE.CUSTOMIZEPAGE# substitution tag problem on template based pages

I've created an Unstructured UI template that includes the #PAGE.CUSTOMIZEPAGE# substitution tag.
It works fine on a normal page, but it doesn't render the 'Customize' link if the page is based on a template. I know that I am authorized to customize the page, because a Portal Smart Link on the same page allows me to do just that. Does anybody know whether there are any issues with this substitution tag on template based pages? (I've used the #PAGE.EDITPAGE# tag in the same Unstructured UI Template with no problems on either normal, or template based pages.)
    Oracle Portal Version 10.1.2.0.2.
I started this thread on the Portal - General forum, but now realise it's more relevant here.
Original thread: Customize Page link not rendered on template-based sub page.
    Thanks
    Matthew

Just a guess, but it seems that the site uses server side includes (the shtml extension and there is a ssi include in your template). You will probably need a testserver running (like XAMPP) on your local system to preview this in a browser.

  • Template based on Modify Provision Resource not showing existing groups

    Hi All,
In OIM 11gR1, we have created custom templates based on Provision and Modify Provision Resource. For templates based on Modify Provision Resource, Oracle says that it should show all existing groups/responsibilities of the beneficiary during request creation. However, it shows empty rows during adding of new responsibilities. Has anyone faced this issue and why is this happening.
    Please let us know.
    Thanks.

Samique Tanweer, Hope this solutions helps you.
One possibility is, If your CSS template is common for both BI and Other department Users except LOGO, then create a single CSS template.
In your report, Take a blank cell. Insert image into it.
Now, Create a Alert based on Users and apply that alert(Rule) to above inserted image.
