Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I sign in to hotmail. I send an e mail. I go to another program. I come back and have to sign in all over again. My other computer doesn't have this problem. It upset my wife. How do I get hotmail to stay on. I never have to sign in to get right into my other MacBook Pro.
Try going to Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access. Delete the Hotmail password. While there run Keychain Fist Aid.

I'm running OSX 10.9.1 (13B42)
My problem is that occasionally my Mac wont boot properly. It gets to the background picture where the dock should open but it freezes there. The little apple shows up top left but nothing else and the cursor shows as the little spinning wheel that wont do anything. I can't click on the apple to restart, I have to switch off in back and then start up again. It usally boots all the way after that but I'm worried there's something up since this seems to be happeneing more frequently. Also I'm worried that having to manually shut down like that will somehow damage the software in time?
I tried a disk verify but there were no repairs needed. I repaired disk permissions too just in case but it still seems to happen every once in a while.
I've noticed recently that it happens the next reboot after I've been streaming movies online if that helps. Is there any reason for this and anything i can do to stop it in the future?Thanks Paul, just ran the etrecheck you recommended and got this:

This started a week ago, I turned off my ipod, and it could not be turned back on again. So I held the sleep button and the home button simultaneously for ten seconds, and my iPod responded, the logo appeared. And my iPod worked perfectly for a week, when the same problem appeared last night, I tried to use the tip which I used last week. But a new problem appeared. The logo showed up, and when I tried to type in my password, the logo appear on the screen again, and this just goes back and forth. I can't type in my password. This is driving me crazy, Pleeeeaze, someone please help me!!!!

My daughter's ipod nano shows up in "devices" when I plug it in...but it disappears. Right away it says it needs to update, but then after extracting the files it comes back and says that it can't be updated because it can't be unmounted. help?!
When in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Follow the explicit instructions in the article from which the thread was started and restore the device from the backup of the previous device.

I sent in my iPhone 6 for repair. I used restore on the loaner phone I was given, and the contacts, texts, reminders, and Safari pages all showed up. My phone is back, and when I used the restore function again, those items are missing. I do not use iCloud because I have no wifi at home, limited data available for regularly backing up, and I have a 64GB phone and don't wish to pay to upgrade from the 5GB iCloud storage. Am I doing something wrong? It worked so seamlessly on my loaner phone that I am completely stumped as to why it will not restore those items to my original phone again.
The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer or cloud service. Your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have chosen to sync.
If you have failed to do this, then they are likely gone. -
I text a friend , from my contacts and they text me back and only there number shows up on the text??? So all day, i'm asking my friends in my contact list, who is this? If the lakes and rivers were not frozen here, my phone would be on the bottom of them!!!

Every time I open up Firefox it appears to open two nested and linked windows, each with their own minimize, maximize and close buttons but the both work the same. The homepage does not come up, the back and forth buttons do not work. Both the refresh button and F5 do not work. The Bookmark Toolbar does not show up until I disable it in View and then re-enable it and this causes the outer nested window to disappear or close.
This issue can be caused by an extension or theme that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Quiz Review--how can I change/customize the buttons in CP7--now showing "back" and "skip"

I am using CP 7 and giving learners the opportunity to review their quiz questions. The review works fairly well, but the buttons at the bottom are not correct. Should say Back and Next or Continue. I don't see a master slide for this, like the Results master slide, where I can edit. Have not found anything useful yet under Object Preferences. Also would be nice to position them. Thanks.I never show the Next button on a question slide, but drag it under the Clear button, so that it becomes only available during Preview. A skipped question cannot be answered anymore when coming back, it is only confusing. For the same reason I will rarely allow backward movement. Only with the option 'Submit All' it is possible to retake questions within the same Quiz attempt.

Laptop screen needs to be moved back and forth to show desktop
there seems to be a bad connection between keyboard part and screen part if I move the top back and forth I eventually find an area where the desktop shows up. The rest of the time the screen is white.
The cable is not necessarily damaged.
Do yourself a favor by checking to make certain that it is not simply loose.
Don't buy parts before you are sure that you need them!

I purchased a film a while back and have the invoice to prove it and its shown on my purchased list however I went to put it on my phone and its not showing the iCloud icon to download it even though I already bought it.any ideas?
If you downloaded it on your computer's iTunes then it should be in the Books part of your library, if you downloaded it on an iOS device then it should be in the Music app on it. If it's not there, and you don't have a copy of it on your backup of your library, then you will need to try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download (audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, which I believe is a requirement from audible.com who supply them) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer. -
I delete an account and tell my notes not to show in the mailbox but each time I close the mail program or restart the computer the mail account comes back and the preferances reset.
I have deleted preferances. I deleted the account using the - sign in system preferances. I make the account inactive, close mail and relaunch and it is active. I have using the email and installed a new ssd system drive. I was able to change some of the mail program settings but then it just quit letting me change and save them. When I delete it in the mail program, it asks it I want to remove it for good, I say yes.See:
