Hi,
I would like to grab a show run-config without the breaks so I can run it through the WLC Config Analyzer. (On a side note, does anyone know where to get the WLC Config Catcher that the training video mentions ?)
I can't use "config paging disable" with the code i am running, 4.0.217.0 on a WS3750:
(Cisco Controller) > config paging disable
Incorrect usage. Use the '?' or <TAB> key to list commands.
(Cisco Controller) >
Any advice gratefully received.
NM
Hello,
The WLC config catcher tool is no longer being developed/supported. The main reason for this is that you can use "config paging disable" on latest 4.2/6.0/7.0 WLC code to obtain similar results.
I realize that you are running version 4.0.217.0 at this time, and unfortunately the only option will be to issue the "show run-config" hitting enter for the various sections.
The good news is that the WLCCA will be able to parse through the breaks automatically.

I downloaded a You Tube downloader, and expected an icon to come up when You Tube was playing, according to a friend's advice.
Since this didn't happen I assumed the download didn't work, or was an old version that doesn't work anymore. I wanted to just get rid of it and try another downloader.
I went to Tools--> Add-ons--> and clicked on the downloaded software and saw the 2 options [Disable] and [Uninstall]. The terminology is unclear, as I've always thought once software resides on your computer you can install it or uninstall it without erasing it from the computer.
A simple question that seems obvious except to someone who wants to be very precise and sure. Basically "does [Uninstall] mean erase from the computer"?
ThanksWith Firefox extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) you have two possibilities. You can disable an extension if you do not want to use it now, but want to keep it. Or you can uninstall an extension and remove it from the computer. Note that uninstalling an extension still leaves prefs in about:config (prefs.js) and possibly files in the profile folder that will be reused in case you decide to reinstall an extension at a later time.

CFWD goes busy, but regular call works
I am assisting with CME 7.0, the site users want to use CFWD, but the call either responds with fast busy or call can not be completed as dialed. If I have the user dial the number directly it dials out and the call connects.
If they press CFWD on the phone and dial the same call that just completed, the call fails. The regular call will hit the PRI with dial-peer 8, the CFWD skips dial-peer 8 and 19 then fails. Hoping someone can spot something in the following debugs or has another idea as to why this occurs?
The following are from 'deb voice ccapi inout':
Regular call, connects:

Problem in Zone Based FW Config
Could anyone see why the below config is making http downloads/streaming hang. Cant watch any streaming as it hangs in various parts but also downloading MS service packs, it will sometimes not start at all or get a few percent then cut off.
Downloading off newsgroups though is not an issue.
It is deffo router in some way. Tried a bog standard one and no issues. Seems to be since I adjusted the FW config through the CCP wizard and might of selected the medium security option.
Any ideas please?

Flash file location in 6500 Core switch
Hi ,
Please guide me what is location of flash file in 6500 Series switch and how can we take back of IOS image for 6500 series.
Thank youYou're welcome.
People seldom backup the actual IOS image binary file since it is usually just as easy to pull a new copy from cisco.com.
The more useful file is the running-config. You can most easily get a one time copy of that by just setting terminal length to 0 ("term len 0"), turning on logging on your shell tool and then typing "show run". The log file will now have a local copy of your running-config. You can also copy it via the cli using tftp, ftp, scp etc. transport methods.
Many open source and commercial products also allow you to automate that whole process for many devices. RANCID, Kiwi CatTools, SolarWinds NCM, Cisco Prime LMS, etc. all do that (and much more).
Please rate helpful posts and mark your question as answered when it is. -
I am unable to set up the device - I get the following error:
CCP encountered an error while executing the command :

How to check on which APs a wlan profile is activated on WLC4402
Hello,
we use a wlc4402 and several wlan profiles which are activated on different access-points (wlan override).
Does anybody know if there is a possibility to see a summary list of the aps on which a certain wlan profile is activated?
Best Regards,
ThorstenHello,
I tested it but did not get the output I am looking for.
What I am looking for is a list of all wlan profiles and for each wlan profile a list of all ap where it's activated, e.g.:
wlan profile 1
ap1
ap2
ap3
wlan profile 2
ap2
ap5
ap7
Does anybody further know how I can set the cli terminal length to 0 so that there is no page break (as term len 0 in ios)?
Regards,
Thorsten -
ACE: any configuration backup solution?
Hello,
for the ACE module I did not find an easy way to create a backup for the whole configuration (running configuration and crypto material of all the contexts). Any ideas? I only found a perl backup script for Cisco ASA which I could modify:

Apologies for the delay - I was on leave. The download works for me - but here it is again - inline this time.

What is persistent variable?
Hi!
what is the correct definition for persistent variable in java?
Thanx
-Sasiwhat is the correct definition for persistent variable
in java?In what context did you see this?
The term "persistent" is used to refer to data which maintains state between runs of the applications. The data is stored in some fashion (database or file.)
As an example the following two terms are equivalent (although the first is more general.)
The customer will be persisted.
The customer will be stored in the database.
Normally a single variable is not stored. Although that might be the case for user preferences in a GUI for example. -
Router script for Automated router changes
I am new to the scripting world and do need assistance in developing a script that will assist me to perform the following tasks when executed
1] remove all existing tunnels
2] remove dialer/BVI interface
3] create new DMVPN tunnel
- tunnel x--- MPLS connection to data center
-tunnel y--- Guest traffic
4] Configure interface gi0/2 for broadband connection
- negotiate DHCP addresses
5] remove RIP routing
6] remove EIGRP routing
7] remove route-map pbr-dsl
8] remove route-map pbr-extsrv
9] create route-map for internet traffic over verizon ( pbr-verizon)
- set interface gi0/2
10] create route-map for internet traffic over mpls (pbr-mpls)
- set interface ser0/0
11] apply pbr-verizon to VLANS 10,20,30,40
12] modify NAT statement
13] create inbound and outbound ACL for Gi0/2 interface
- permit udp gre traffic from VIP
- permit tcp any any established
-permit tcp any any eq ftp-data
-permit udp any any eq domain
14] combine all other ACL to ensure no blocking will occur based on all internet traffic from verizon and not mplsJoseph,
My question is on syntax when using username and password. I'm stuck on a script that I found here on the support forums that is using the Expect command.
My goal is to run the script from a host monitoring server using a device list file to go out and telnet into each one of the routers to run a "Show Inventory" command.
All the routers are using local AAA with username and password to get to the Privledged Exec mode. Here's a copy of my script. I have bolded the parts that I'm curious if correct. If you could check over it and let me know where my mistakes (If any) are located, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Brandon

Need help Creating a translation pattern that adds dial out digits to incoming calls
I came across an article yesterday and it showed the steps how to fix Missed Call/Received Call numbers so that you can dial them from the menu correctly (auto-add a 9, etc.)?
I tried it this morning and came up with this translation pattern:
voice translation-rule 6
rule 1 /^201\(.*\)/ /8\1/
rule 2 /\(..........\)/ /81\1/
voice translation-profile filter_Incoming
translate calling 6
This translation pattern rule 1 adds the dial out character 8 and strips 201 for local calls. Rule 2 adds dial out character 8 and adds 1 for long distance. The purpose of this translation rule is when the ephone receives the phone call the characters 8 and 1 are added so when you quickly need to redial you do not have to edit the number and add 8 for each call.
I tested the translation-rule:
ROUTER-2911#test voice translation-rule 6 9082121231
Matched with rule 2
Original number: 9082121231 Translated number: 819082121231
Original number type: none Translated number type: none
Original number plan: none Translated number plan: none
ROUTER-2911#test voice translation-rule 6 2019121231
Matched with rule 1
Original number: 2019121231 Translated number: 89121231
Original number type: none Translated number type: none
Original number plan: none Translated number plan: none
ROUTER-2911#
Issue is I am not sure with my inbound call leg if it can even work. We dial out through the SIP Trunk and the incoming is translated to the AutoAttendant on Cisco Unity Express.
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /2015552100/ /2003/
voice translation-profile CUE_Voicemail/AutoAttendant
translate called 1
dial-peer voice 9 voip
description **Incoming Call from SIP Trunk**
translation-profile incoming CUE_Voicemail/AutoAttendant
call-block translation-profile incoming BLOCKED-INCOMING
call-block disconnect-cause incoming call-reject
session protocol sipv2
session target dns:nd01-04.fs.SIPPROVIDER.net
incoming called-number .%
voice-class codec 1
voice-class sip dtmf-relay force rtp-nte
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
no vad
Can what I am trying to do be done with my current setup?Hi patldmart012,
The dial-peer 9 that you have attached will not be affected by following config
voice translation-rule 6
rule 1 /^201\(.*\)/ /8\1/
rule 2 /\(..........\)/ /81\1/
voice translation-profile filter_Incoming
translate calling 6
Because you have not applied the translation profile "filter_incoming" on the dial-peer.
Could you please provide the exact call flow?
Along with that, If you are facing issue with calls on SIP Trunk, please collect following debugs in a logging buffer and attach the file. I will analyse it and will get back to you.
debug voip ccapi inout
debug ccsip message
debug voice translation
Debug h225 asn1 (If H323 involved)
Debug h245 asn1 (If H323 involved)
Debug MGCP Packets (If MGCP involved)
Also provide the running config of the GW.
These are verbose debugs, so please collect them in the following manner:
Router(config)# service sequence
Router(config)# service timestamps debug datetime msec
Router(config)# logging buffered 30000000 7
Router(config)# no logging con
Router(config)# no logging mon
Router# Clear log
Router# term no mon
<Enable debugs, then wait for issue to occur.>
Router# term len 0
<Enable session capture to txt file in terminal program.>
Router# Undebug all
Router# sh log
Once i have the logs, i will analyse it and will get back to you.

How to know the topology of my switched network?
Hi,
Our switched network has approximatley 90 switches and i've been assingned the task to draw the topology.
I've been told the below information:
1. All are cisco switches itslef.
2. I've been provided with ROOT credentials
3. They told that each switch is connected to two other switches other than the ROOT switch.
4. The main problem is i shouldn't enter into the datacentre ...rather sitting at my desk i need to prepare it and i've been provided with one day time.
I know that CDP helps but logging into 90 switches is a bit tedius process. So i there any command to get the topolgoy?
Can some please help me with this ?
Regards,
ChanduJust dig in and start doing it. 1-2 days of solid work and you'll be done.
Start at the core and proceed to each connected switch. Repeat until you've covered them all.
The key commands I'd use are:
show cdp nei
show cdp nei det | i address
show ip int br | ex una
Also separately save copies of the configs for later review.
term len 0
show run
All of the above while logging your sessions to file. -

Br/SubhojitHI,
I guess for every redirect command uses a vty session and thats why we might see this issue. I had a look at the logs again.
I see lots of SA Miss which is nothing but increase Source Address Miss. Have you verified if there are any topology changes(show spanning-tree detail | in ieee|exec|from|occurred)

Modem Pass through to remote PBX
Dear All,
I would like to use the cisco router 3640 (with T1 card) and cisco 2621 (with 2 x FXS card) to simulate the network & pstn environment to test the modem pass through, here is the detail connection:
Analog Phone (Ext: 451660) <--> [FXS] Cisco Router 2621 <---- LAN ----> Router 3640 [T1] <--> [T1] PBX (Panasonic) <--> Analog Phone (Ext: 454820, Modem)
The dial-peer on the router 2621 & 3640 is working as I can call in/out from PBX analog phone, and I was success to connect the PC (with modem port, and use the hyperterminal, atdt454820) from Outside PC (with modem port, Ext: 451660).
But I was fail to dial-out from PBX analog phone (454820) to 451660.
From Cisco router 2600:
dial-peer voice 45166 voip
destination-pattern 45166.
modem passthrough nse codec g711ulaw redundancy
session target ipv4:192.168.0.60 (Router 3640)
From Cisco router 3640
dial-peer voice 454820 voip
destination-pattern 454820
modem passthrough nse codec g711ulaw redundancy
session target ipv4:192.168.0.44 (Router 2600)
Here is the link I try to follow to do:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_1t/12_1t3/feature/guide/dtmodptr.html
I would like to know if there is any miss-configure or how can I troubleshoot (to find out the cause) which I cannot connect from PBX' PC.
Thanks!Note that anytime a call traverses a voice gateway, we match *two* dial-peers, not one. We match one inbound, and one outbound. In your scenario, if the FXS side originates the call, it would be:
fxs(inbound pots)router(outbound voip)----LAN-----(inbound voip)router(outbound pots)---T1
The algorithm for how this works is documented in this link. I recommend having a few reads over this:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk90/technologies_tech_note09186a008010fed1.shtml
If you can get these debugs, I can take a deeper look into the failure:
debug voip ccapi inout
debug isdn q931
debug vpm sig
debug h225 asn1
debug h245 asn1
Collect these in the following manner:
Router(config)# service sequence
Router(config)# service timestamps debug datetime msec
Router(config)# logging buffered 10000000 7
Router(config)# no logging con
Router(config)# no logging mon
Router(config)# voice iec syslog
Router# term len 0
Router# sh logg
Also send the full configs of both gateways.

Hello Community,
The following script will only provide the output 'show ip traffic' in an email when it is invoked.
Can someone please show me how to modify the script so that all commands are sent to email, ie 'show process cpu sorted 5min', 'show process cpu sorted 1min'.
event manager applet High_CPU_SNMP
event none
action 0.0 syslog msg "High CPU DETECTED. Please wait - logging Information to disk0:high_cpu.txt"
action 0.1 cli command "enable"
action 0.2 cli command "term exec prompt timestamp"
action 0.3 cli command "term len 0"
action 1.2 cli command "show process cpu sorted 5min"
action 1.2 cli command "show process cpu sorted 1min"
action 1.6 cli command "show ip traffic"
action 1.7 mail server "150.50.5.2" to "[email protected]" from "[email protected]" subject "CPU Alert 5min" body "$_cli_result"
Cheers
CarltonRedirect the output of each command to a file on flash, then "more" the file:
action 1.2 cli command "show proc cpu sort 5min | redirect flash:tmp"
action 1.3 cli command "show process cpu sort 1min | append flash:tmp"
action 1.6 cli command "more flash:tmp"
action 1.7 mail server ... body "$_cli_result"
