Terrible Trackpad Drivers for Bootcamp

I have a brand new late 2013 Macbook Pro 13 Haswell and I am running bootcamp and Windows 7. I need both sides of this computer to function very well as this computer is now my only computer. I love everything exept the lack of multi-touch on the Windows side an in my experience the general poor functioning of the trackpad in Windows 7 (poor resoltuion, will not always come out of right click mode). I tried Trackpad ++ but that killed my WIndows 7 Install and I had to reinstall everything. Condiering returning the computer because I need to do work using Windows 7 and Visual Studio and not sure I can live with this.

You can use trackpad ++. But it might scramble your sound card driver. I can hear crackle sound in itunes after I've installed trackpad ++.

  • Can't Download Windows 7 Drivers for Bootcamp?

    Hi,
I have been trying since 2 weeks to download windows 7 drivers for bootcamp but the process just gets frozen at that point. I live in a 3rd world country and don't have a good connection. My DSL's speed is 2mb and I can easily downoad movies and hd seasons but because of the awesome servers of Apple, I can't download these much needed drivers.
Is there some direct linking to these drivers so I can download them or any other alternative?
    Thanks a lot

Using Boot Camp is the only method to obtain the drivers, be patient and try again.

  • Where i download the mac drivers for bootcamp

I want to do a partition with bootcamp for windows 7, and i saw in a tutorial that i need a CD with the mac drivers for the keyboard and trackpad... I havent got that CD... Where can i download it? lot of thanks!

What year/model computer do you have? On older computers the Windows Support software is on the OS install CD. On newer computers the Windows Support software is downloaded from within Boot Camp Assistant, there is a menu item in Boot Camp Assistant to download the Windows Support software. Follow the instructions.

  • Can't load drivers for bootcamp

I have a Mac with the following specs: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. It came with Leopard and I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.7
I purchased Windows from Amazon unaware that the software comes in two versions 32bit and 64bit. I ordered the 64bit and was told by a couple of store clerks that it should work fine with my system. I got hold of a book by David Pogue on the subject and he recommends the 32bit version. I think he may be right.
Everything went ok until it came time  to load the drivers for the Mac. I inserted the Snow Leopard Disc and nothing happened. A message appeared on the screen that said something like  no support for 64bit machine?
Should I get the 32bit version of Windows or is there something I could do?
    Thanks.

Most of us on this forum don't use Boot Camp or MS Windows. However there is a Boot Camp forum where you are more likely to get some assistance. Click Apple Support Communities then type Boot Camp in the search field and you will be able to locate it.

Where can I find files to download all the dirvers etc to use with bootcamp on my MacBook.... which was loaded with an oerating system by Apple at one of the stores, so I do not have the disk.... and of course, Apple will not download any support for Bootcamp.

Run Boot Camp Assistant and select only the option to download the Windows Support software. Follow the instructions for downloading and installing the support software.
Or, you can get the support software here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/downloads/

  • Bootcamp trackpad drivers for windows 7 seem to get overwritten.

I'm running windows 7 ultimate on my macbook air 13", partitioned with bootcamp 3.2. I've installed the windows 7 bootcamp drivers and applied the track pad settings, and they work correctly for a while, but then they seem to just vanish. I go back to bootcamp and the tab for track pad settings isn't there. This seems to happen about once a week. At first I thought that windows updates were overwriting the bootcamp drivers, but I've disabled automatic windows updates and the problem still persists. If do a repair install of the bootcamp drivers, it works correctly for a a while. But as I said, I have to reinstall about once per week.
    Any suggestions?

I also have a similar issue. Very annoying, and goes away when you reboot.
I can also report that I have unknown devices in the device manager, and no telling hardware failure errors in the event log.
Could you provide a more specific link? That one doesn't go anywhere helpful.

  • Trackpad settings for bootcamp drive

hello....i have a windows partition on my macbook air.
i have downloaded all the necessary drivers needed for the bootcamp.
howsoever need assistance to make required changes in the settings of the tracpad as the right click option is not working as of now.
could anyone please assist what is to be done?

    Howdy webhansali,
To use the right click option you set a particular corner to be the right click, or two finger click.
Boot Camp: Right-click with a mouse or trackpad
Using a trackpad: There are two ways you can right-click; you can choose which ones are available in the Trackpad pane of the Boot Camp control panel.
If Secondary Click is selected in the One Finger section, click the selected corner of the trackpad.
If Secondary Click is selected in the Two Finger section, place two fingers on the trackpad, then click.
Details on the setting are found here:
    Boot Camp: Set trackpad options
And I take it by saying you downloaded all the necessary drivers, that means you downloaded and installed them.
Boot Camp: Install or repair Boot Camp drivers
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • Laptop keyboard and trackpad drivers for windows7?

Just upgraded my bootcamp partition to windows 7.
    I am on a mid 2009 15" MacBookPro.
I had to totally delete my XP partition, repartition, and reinstall.
Boot camp wouldn't create support files so I followed the instruction in the formum to manually import and install bootcamp 4 support files.
I finally got everything running smoothly except I have limited control of the trackpad, with no way to adjust anything via windows 7 control panels.
and unable to use the top row of the keyboard like I could in xp to control machine volume, screen brightness, keyboard backlit brighness, etc.
are there any specific drivers to fixes these issues.
I came across one post that suggested downloading a program that would help remap the keyboard keys, but that would seem to be a second choice to having the proper drivers.
    Thanks

Well tried to load the windows support software from bootcamp one more time, guess 5 times is a charm, becuase it finally went all the way and didn't hang up at 70%. after install on windows side all things seem to be working fine, thanks Bob.
to all who have looked at this thread guess the advice is keep trying to load the windows support software until it completes.

  • Lion is unable to connect to the internet to download the windows drivers for bootcamp...how do I fix this?

I have just bought a new Macbook Pro, running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2. I don't have any restore discs (obviously) being that they don't come with the macbooks anymore. I keep getting an error message when I try to download the drivers using the bootcamp assistant, telling me that the assistant can't connect to the internet, and asks me if I want to troubleshoot, despite being connected just fine. I'm not running any type of firewall that would prevent a connection for the assistant and am at lost as to what the issue could possibly be. Would be appreciative of any assistance here.

  • How can I install drivers for bootcamp without using the mac install dvd?

I installed windows 7 in bootcamp on my mac. I put the drivers on a FAT format usb stick so they should be installed while the windows installation was running. The most things are working on windows like the i-sight-camera. The problem is that the microphone doesn´t work so I look for a solution for 3 days, no result. Normally, you use the mac install dvd to install the necessary drivers but windows doesn´t want to read the dvd. And yes, you can download the drivers on the apple platform, but that doesn´t help me at all.
Thanks in advance. (sorry for the language)

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You didn't install Boot Camp drivers. It looks like you downloaded these drivers > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3173
Those drivers are only for the graphic card and Bluetooth, not anything else, so you have to download the Boot Camp drivers on OS X and install them in Windows

  • How to install XP drivers for Bootcamp on Mac OSX v 10.6.7?

I installed Windows XP Porfessional SP3 on my Bootcamp partition but when I insert the "Software Support" DVD that my Mac created it says that I have to be running Windows 7 only and does not install any drivers. I have been pulling my hair out trying to find a solution on the web with no luck. One road block after another. This should be simple.... I DO NOT want or have Windows 7. I want and have Windows XP professional and all the documentation states that I should be able to install and run Windows XP using bootcamp on Max OSX 10.6 and later and I am running 10.6.7. I tried downloading BCUpdateEXE.exe and running it on the Windows bootcamp partition but it does nothing. It will not run. I found an article saying you must first install Bootcamp 2.0 drivers and then run this update but I cannot find any copy of the Bootcamp 2.0 drivers on the Web.
It almost seems like Apple is in colusion with Microsoft to force the latest Microsoft garbage down our throats.... when i baught the Mac I thought I was getting away from this horrible practice... seems not...???

No you don't, just use OSX,
    or paper & pencil.

  • Need Working Drivers for Macbook 2,1 running Windows 8 (64-bit) using Boot Camp 5 (Mountain Lion)

So I found my old Macbook 2,1 on Leopard the other day and decided to make it my dedicated Windows computer. I wanted to run Windows 8 on it, so I figured out I needed Boot Camp 5. Then I realized Boot Camp 5 only runs on Mountain Lion, so I went though the process up updating it (had to use MLPostFactor since it's techincally unsupported on my mac.) After getting it updated to Mountain Lion, I went and used Boot Camp 5 to install Windows 8 64-bit. However, when I try to load any Boot Camp Driver Files (I've tried the drivers for BootCamp 3, 4, and 5) it says it is unsupported on my computer model. I suspect this is because of the fact that Windows 8 shouldn't be on my computer. Without these files, I can't right click, among other things, which is pretty important. Can anyone help me get these drivers loaded?
