I thought this command would work based on the 'AllowCrossSiteRpcClientAccess: True' option on the DAG. The command works well if run a CAS server in the active DB site.

I had this same issue, except I have Symantec mail security not Forefront. It wound up being a line in the adult content filter. For whatever reason, they included "If you received this email" as one of the literal strings. This is probably part
of almost every corporate confidentiality clause I have ever seen!! go figure......
Thanks for the event log hint- since I have the adult content set to delete, I had no good tracking mechanism in Exhange or SMSME. I set email notifications for the future on these.

List". But in many case the problem is continuous. I have Exchange 2007 in MS Windows Server 2003.

Im in the middle of a rather large migration and a few users are see the below error when trying to log in to OWA:

This problem occurs because the discretionary access control list (DACL) inheritance is disabled on the user account in Active Directory. The Exchange Servers group must have permissions
to write the msExchUserCulture attribute on the user when the language has been specified in OWA.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
2. Click View, and then click Advanced Features.
Note To make the Security tab available at both the user level and the organizational unit level, you must enable the Advanced Features option in Active Directory Users and Computers. This option is available under the View menu.
3. Open the properties for both the user level and the organizational unit level that the users are located in, and then locate the Security tab.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Make sure that the following check box is selected:
Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and all child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here.
6. Force Active Directory replication.

Setting a Transport Rule to reply with a Custom DSN for a Disabled User and disconnected mailbox

Here is what I am trying to accomplish. A user leaves the company. We disable there exchange email and that in turn disabled the account in AD. We want a custom NDR to say "This employee is no longer and employee blah blah" We dont get rid of email
boxes but we disable them.
Here is what I done. Created custom NDR and then created a transport rule to read if the message is sent to [email protected] reply back with this NDR code. It works fine if I disable the user from AD and not exchange. Once I "disconnect" the mailbox
it no longer works. I get the default NDR that says this email cant be found. I don't want that one. I want my custom NDR. I don't want to modify the 5.1.1 message either. Is there away around this?

Hi Nellyjo,
In your case, when you disable the user from AD and Exchange, in fact the message is blocked before reaching transport rule, recipient filtering is blocking this email. If you still want to achieve your goal by transport rule, you need to create a mailbox
or contact to make your transport rule work.
What's more, you also can modify original DSN for external and internal senders to meet your requirement.

The function ConfigureMsgService returns MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR (0x80040115).

This works well if SERVICE_UI_ALLOWED flag is used but fails with MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR
if "MSEMS" service is configured without configuration property sheet.
The code above also works if Exchange server is installed at the computer that also works as domain controller. But the problem occurrs if domain controller and exchange server are separate machines.
Enviroment:
Domain controller: Windows Server 2012
Exchange server: Windows Server 2012, Exchange 2013
Client machine: Outlook 2013 installed
I'm guessing that there is some issue with AD, but I've run out of ideas at this point.

I am also facing the same problem, my customized MAPI application is failing with MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR
(Exchange 2013).
The exchange server and the AD are on different boxes.
I tried following the
steps as suggested in the article but no effect.
Can you tell me what registry value do I need to set and in which machine do I need to set it.
I do not see the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider in the registry.

I'm trying to sync the contacts on my iPhone 5 with my contacts on my Mac Book Air (merge them), I'm also using Outlook (Microsoft) to manage my email account and my contacts. I used to sync my contacts from my previous iPhone (4S) with my contacts on my Mac and also with contacts on Outlook.
Now that I have iPhone 5 I missed that sync (iPhone-Mac-Outlook), so I figure it out that in iTunes there is this message: "your contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air. Your contacts will also sync directly with this computer. This may result in duplicated data showing on your device"
Every contact created on iPhone doesn't sync with my Mac or Outlook.
How should I configure my iphone and my mac to sync properly??

IPad Contacts sync with Microsoft Exchange problem

I have a iPad & iPhone and use Microsoft Exchange to sync my Calendar, Contacts and Email with my Google account. I am having a problem with my Contacts. Some how when I have my iPad sync my contacts it keeps adding contacts that I have changed or have deleted. I can have over 30 extra contacts with some adding the same contact 7 or 8 times before I delete them in Google and switch the sync off on my iPad. How is my iPad having these ghost copy of old contacts and keep adding them to my contacts on Google. I have deleted my Microsoft Exchange account to Google off my iPad and tried it again with no luck. It keeps adding old contacts I have changed or have deleted? What can I do

We have a user with the same issue. Each time a contact is updated, a duplicate is created. I have done some testing removing phone numbers from a contact in Outlook, but they remain in the contact information on the iPad. Any ideas?

I'm really into the new iPhone 4 to use as a business phone. I have a Dell PC with Windows XP. The most important thing for me regarding iPhone is that the sync with Microsoft Exchange is flawless.
Can somebody (who has an iPhone and Microsoft Exchange) tell me how effective the sync is with iPhone and Microsoft Exchange? Does the e-mail sync quickly and how does the sync work with contacts and calendar. If I put a new calendar item in Outlook does it appear on my iPhone without me asking it to sync and etc.?

If you want push sync, then, no, you can't set a time interval. The entire point of push support is that the server notifies your system whenever something new arrives or something is changed. If you want to control when your iPhone contacts the server, then you can't use push. You can have the system fetch data at a set interval, or you can set to do it manually, if you prefer, but there's no setting where you can set a time window.
And can I put the sync settings only to store a certain amount of e-mails? Say the 100 newest?
You can set how may days of mail to sync, and also how many emails to show.

I've had a similar problem. On my first boot up after installing 10.7.4, Firefox would not open. Crashed every time. Safari was not affected. I have no idea if it was related to the flash plugin, but I did install a the latest version of that a couple of weeks ago.
Here's what fixed it: a second boot up.

It also mentions that SMTP protocol is used. Therefore, you will need to know the SMTP address of your Exchange Server.
As for who uses it, I believe it is the majority or at least a significant part of the clients' installed base. Note that it is one of the most widespread email servers.

ITunes Says My Contacts Are Being Synced With Microsoft Exchange, But I Don't Have An Exchange Account

iTunes says my contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air, but I do not have an Exchange account, and I have disabled over the air syncing on both my iPhone 4, as well as in iTunes. How do I remedy this? I did a complete Restore on my phone to rectify this, but got the same results.
I have worked for a couple of hours now; at first, none of my contacts were syncing with Outlook, even though iTunes said they were. Then after checking and unchecking everything I could find relating to syncing, some of my contacts synced. Now I've managed to get them all synced, but still getting this message. You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC. You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

How do I restore Notes through iTunes without interfering with Microsoft Exchange Calendar and email

I recently added a Microsoft Exchange account to my iPhone and had to stop syncing my Calendar and Mail Accounts through iTunes because it was creating duplicate entries. When I made those changes, I lost all of my Notes on my iPhone. I backed up my phone after adding the Microsoft Exchange account, but am afraid to restore the backup (to restore the Notes) because I don't want to restore the pre-Exchange Calendar and Mail Account settings or entries. If I select "restore backup", will it restore my Notes without interfering with my Calendar and Mail Account settings or entries? Also, I don't know when the Notes disappeared from my iPhone, so it's possible that I synced through iTunes after I added the Exchange account, which probably means that the Notes I am trying to restore are in a prior backup, not the most recent backup. Can you help?

No bug I'm using exchange at work I've updated a couple of people here and it's working.
Your IT guy can't fix this for you? This problem usually is due to the exchange server not recogonizing your account. You have the right server and domain entered?
