Testing RFC without Executing RFC in SAP R/3

Hi All,
Is it possible to test a sender RFC adapter to invoke Web service in SAP XI without executing RFC in R/3. I am facing problems when executing RFC in R/3. So would like to confirm that the other portion ie, from XI to Webservice is working fine. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thx
Deno

Hi Deno,
Just go in a stepwise manner and you will know here the error is.
1. First execute RFC and see if it reaches SAP XI.
2. Check in Transaction SXMB_MONI as to which step is going into error.
3. If it's not reaching XI ythen there is problem with RFC destination or the RFC adapter config check that.

  • Setting up the HR-PDC  interface to ext. system without direct RFC

    Hello,
Setting up the HR-PDC  interface to external system without direct RFC - Uploading time events
Following note number 647145, I tried to set up connection to external time collection system. As the external system isn't able to work with RFC, I setup a fileport using transaction WE21. When an outbound IDOC is created with transaction PT80, it will be stored at the outbound path. The IDOC then will be transfered to the external system with a unix script triggered by event.
For inbound IDOCS, the fileport cannot be used as I don't see any way to configure it as the time events that  should come in via RFC port, will be uploaded and processed according the ALE distribution model. The BOR object "PTManagerExtPEvent" of type "BUS7014" with method "Insert" is used to insert the time events into the interface table CC1TEV from an HR-PDC certified subsystem. The message type is "HRCC1UPTEVEN".
As standard process won't work in our case, I'd need alternative solution. Actually the time events are send via ftp to the SAP directory that points to incoming IDOC path setup on WE21.
Maybe there should some way to setup RFC connection to own SAP system that points to the SAP directory where the inbound files are stored.
Maybe using the FM IDOC_INPUT_HRCC1UPTEVEN can be used to trigger the upload manually but first the files have to be uploaded from file similiar to report RSEINB00. Testing this report using the SAP directory and port where the inbound files are located I get error message that IDOC control record is missing, that seems to be understandable as this report is used to upload IDOCS from file but HR-PDC upload file HRCC1UPTEVEN01 has no specific IDOC segments in this moment as it was created according specific HR-PDC interface description. The IDOC in the standard process will be created with the BAPI.
As I'm new in HR and ALE, I'd be grateful for any help on this matter.
    Best regards
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,
thanks for Your contribution. Recently I've got the trial version and made some tests and found out that the bapi-handler works perfectly for managing HR-PDC interface.
Nevertheless actually there's no compilation for OS/400 and the AS/400 I'm working with has an old OS release without C compiler and furthermore RFC libraries of SAP cannot be installed on this release.
The Bapi-handler for testing runs on Windows
and I'd need an intermediate machine to manage the data between AS/400 and SAP. I'd prefer direct connection between timecollection subsystem and SAP for obvios reason.

  • Send multiple records to rfc without using BPM

    Dear Experts,
Could you please help on the following scenario.
I need to send multiple customer master data records from a file  to rfc without using BPM.
The following is the mapping i am using
    source                                                 Target( RFC)
    ======                                          =============
    Tree             occurance   type           Tree occurance
    cust_mt        1..1
       customer     0..unbound -
    >          ztest_cust( rfc )  1..1
          cname     1..1             -
    >            cname   0..1
          cno          1..1            -
    >            cno       0..1
           bank           -
    >            bank    0..1
                                                                    item :  0..unbound
             code      -
    >                                   code   0..1
             name     -
    >                                    name  0..1
             location   -
    >                                      location 0..1
    1. Multiple banks possible for one customer
    2. Multiple customers possible in datafile from mdm
Problem 1:Only one customer record from file is being sent to RFC thouth many records are in the file, the second, third .. and so on records not being sent to rfc.
    Problem 2:
if add o.. unbound for the rfc occurance, <messages>,<message1> tags are getting added in message mapping, and no single customer record sent to rfc..
Your help is rewarded with good points.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks.
    sravya.

    Hi VJ,
Thank you for the immediate reply.
one more thing, when i tried to change the occurences of   ztest_cust( rfc) to 0..unbound,
I am not seeing the occurances updated in the imported rfc structure.
The following is the wsdl for rfc, could you please help me to add occurances 0..unbound.
    Thanks a lot.
    sraya.

  • Execute RFC from PDK based development

    Hi All,
I want to execute a RFC from PDK based component (AbstractPortalComp/JSPDynp).
What are the different options availabel for doing executing RFC?
Is there a way I can live without hard coding SAP system Connetion params in the project code or in a properties file?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Aakash

    Hi,
you could also use Sap Enterprise Connector - see [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas630/helpdata/en/79/c6213e225f9a0be10000000a114084/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas630/helpdata/en/79/c6213e225f9a0be10000000a114084/frameset.htm] for more info.
For getting the client without specifying the login/pass in the code just get it from the usermapping of the current user (from the request) for the alias of the system used:
        IJCOClientService clientService =
          (IJCOClientService) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(IJCOClientService.KEY);
        IJCOClientPoolEntry poolEntry = clientService.getJCOClientPoolEntry(systemAlias, request);
        Client client = poolEntry.getJCOClient();
        if (!client.isAlive()) {
          client.connect();
the rest is as usual - see the help.

  • ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

    Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
    My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?
    Best regards,
    Steven

    Hi Abhishek,
This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna  maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

Can anyone please help me how many Interface determinations, receiver determinations ,sender agreements, receiver agreements need to create for this.......

    Hi
    Receiver is FTP only.....
    SAP side is RFC.........
RFC sender will be initiating the scenario, and there is receiver is File, PI should go to file directory and take the file then send it back to RFC as response.
    Sender: RFC
    Receiver: File
    1. is this scenario with condition based routing.. so that each time outof many receiver systems it will trigger any specific system.
if above is the case then you can achive this without BPM also..
    Yes...its condition based routing...
I Used async in this scenario.....sender side configurations also done....
But when when I am triggering BAPI from SE37 I am getting an error
    Exception SYSTEM_FAILURE
Message ID: 00 Message number: 341
    Message:
    Runtime error CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND has occurred
    How to Solve this????
I checked the RFC destination which i created in TCP/IP..a nd i mentioned the same in se37 RFC target system..
    Connection is Ok
Or we need to create proxy for MI and report for this?

  • No RFC destination is defined for SAP Global Trade Services

    Hi Team,
I am getting error No RFC destination is defined for SAP Global Trade Services while transferring master data from one ECC Client to GTS.
Both clients has built in GTS. The situation is like this.... Client A which has ECC & GTS and Client B also has ECC and GTS. Client B we are intended
to use only for GTS. This is basically for proto type purpose we need to establish connectivity between A and B. B we intended to use as a feeder system
    1) All the three BADI'sin SD0A,SD0B and SD0C level activated
    SLL_PI_SD0A_TRANSFER
    SLL_PI_SD0B_TRANSFER
    SLL_PI_SD0C_TRANSFER
    2) /SAPSLL/RFC_DEST Badi also active
I asked BASIS people to check in SM59  Client A is connected with Client B (here Client B as RFC destination) even connection test / remote logon also
tested and it is working between A an B

Just to clarify one more point
    sender should be EH6CLNT800 (ECC)
Receipient should be EICCLNT800 (GTS). Is it correct

  • Execute RFC Write through VB6.

    Hello,
I have installed the SAP Netweaver trial version (Installation Number "Initial") .
I can connect to SAP through vb6 and execute an RFC to download and view data (RFC_READ_TABLE).
I am having a hard time trying to execute a "write" RFC to write data into SAP. Obviously I may be doing something wrong, but, my question is, can you confirm I should be able to "write" to the trial version? If so, can you point me to some vb6 examples for this? Would I be better trying to switch to the developer version?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Thanks for replying.
I used the default log in that the installation instructed me to use (SAP*), but then found in the help a BCUSER log in which I think should supply me with appropriate permissions.
I suspect it is more likely that my coding is at fault. Could you point me to vb6 RFC write examples? Can I execute a command to view a list of suitable write RFC's to experiment with in SAP?
    Thanks,
    Steve

while executing the RFC i specify the RFC destination configured as the RFC target Sys...but when i execute ..i get a "<b>SYSTEM_FAILURE</b>" exception....
    Please suggest some solution.

    Hi,
Execute your RFC in bakground mode. Create dummy report and polpulate your parameter of RFC in this report and execute RFC in background with following syntax.
    CALL FUNCTION <yourfunction>
    IN BACKGROUND TASK
    DESTINATION <yourRFCDest>
    <Export/Table/Exception etc Paramters>
    COMMIT WORK.

  • Call rfc sender adapter from non-sap systems

    Hi,
is ist possible to connect to an rfc sender adapter from non-sap systems? I want to use the the RFC-Connector from http://rfcconnector.com, but in the client connect options there is no way to specify the program id.
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    hi,
you don't need to use RFC type T (with program ID) - you can use whole connection string - just like in the example:
    http://www.rfcconnector.com/documentation/examples/client/#functioncall
so just specify: host system number etc.
it should work like that - but let me know as I don't know this RFC connector

For RFC you dont need all the above
For RFC need only RFC destination of type T to be created in Both ECC and PI ,This is needed only in case of sender RFC adapter
For receiver RFC adapter straight away you can call RFC by providing needed connection details of ECC

  • How to PI call R/3 RFC without BPM.

    Hi Expert.
Why PI direct call RFC probably is not a possibility of doing without BPM.
It makes RFC of separate way, it calling it is made Report program where there is a possibility of doing.
Different adapter where it becomes direct call, RFC piece bay occupational calling there probably is not a possibility of doing.

Krishna Moorthy P, Thank you so much your answer.
    I add question.
    My scenario is very simple.
Case 1. File to RFC to JDBC Scenario. (Sync)
Using BPM. PI call File adatper, and PI call RFC Function, and RFC return data send to PI to JDBC.
Case 2. QRFC to JDBC Scenario.(Async)
Using se37 for back job. So, Back job Function send to PI to JDBC.
In this two case, to what kind of is the efficiency better.
<b>I think that case 2 is performance better case1.</b>
It isn't like that? Krishna Moorthy P

  • How to end a work item exlicitly without executing it?

i want to find out how to end a workitem explicitly without executing it from the business workplace. we have created a dummy workitem and would like to end it when it is not needed.
i have set up the terminating event in the workitem task but even though the event is raised the workitem is not ended and the workitem is still in the inbox. i was expecting that when the event is raised the event will end the workitem and it will move into the outbox.
am i doing something worng? why isnt the workitem getting ended and move to outbox when the terminating event is raised?

    Hi Arghadip,
thanks for your inputs. That was really useful but in my case i dont have the workitem ID. Actually here is my process, the system creates a workflow when a invoice is created and it is blocked for payment. When the invoice triggers a workflow it does two things in a FORK. One it sends an email and the second it sends a workitem. The workitem is a dummy workitem. When the user reply's to the email a RFC FM is called from the external system which will release the invoice in SAP. Now once this is done we would like to close the workitem which is lying in the business workplace. So i have implemented the terminating event however i guess that doesnt work. When the RFC FM is called externally it releases the Invoice using a BAPI and once it is done i am calling the FM SWE_EVENT_CREATE to raise the event to terminate the event.
    Am i doing something wrong?

  • RFC Destination type RFC Receiver Adapter?

    Hi,
What is the RFC destination type for Sender RFC Adapter?
and what is the need a Program ID for sender Adpter.
What is the RFC destination type for Receiver RFC Adapter?
    Regards
    Gopi

When we use the RFC Adapter?
SAP systems up to and including SAP Release 4.6 are not able to exchange data by using XML messages and http. The only way you can connect such systems to the Integration Server directly is by using the RFC adapter (or the IDoc adapter).
You require the sender adapter if you want to use the Integration Engine to process RFCs. The RFC adapter converts the incoming RFC data to XML message format (RFC XML) so that it can be processed by the Integration Engine.
You require the receiver adapter if the determined receiver system expects the data from the Integration Engine to arrive in RFC format. In this case, the Integration Engine must transfer the received XML message (RFC XML) to the RFC adapter. The RFC adapter converts the RFC XML message to a valid RFC call and executes the call.
The following three scenarios are possible when using the RFC adapter and the Integration Engine:
        1) SAP R/3 to SAP NetWeaver Application Server
        2) SAP NetWeaver Application Server to SAP R/3
        3) SAP R/3 to SAP R/3
When we use ABAP Proxy ?
SAP systems based on Web AS 6.40 and higher are able to exchange data by using messages and HTTP. These systems can use ABAP proxies to connect to the Integration Server.
To connect the platform-independent message interfaces, which are stored in the Integration Repository, to the Integration Server, use the ABAP proxy interface.
Please Reward the points if it's helpful...
