Testing the DAC and ADC on Spartan 3A Starter Kit

Hi, My team is currently working on a project which uses both, the ADC and DAC components. Wewant to test each module independently. For the DAC we want to use an oscilloscope to observeif the output signal is correct. How is the connection made for using the DAC with an oscilloscope?Do we have to connect a ground cable to somewhere in the FPGA? On the other hand, for the ADC, we are going to use a signal generator. Similarly, how does one connecta DC signal to the ADC pin for sampling? As you can see, we do not want to make any hardware tests until we are sure everything is being preparedcorrectly. Thanks

Synchronization between DAC and ADC on NI 4451

I need for my DAC and ADC software buffers to line up with each other in analog time.
I'm using the following code to start the DAC and ADC conversions:

But I end up with a 70-75 millisecond delay between the DAC start and the ADC start. I need synchronization to at least a few hundred microseconds between the DAC and ADC buffers.

One clarification point is needed her. Yes, it is true that both the Analog Input and Analog Output of the 4451 use the same clock source. However, the way you currently have the start of these operations is to start each one separately through a software call. This is why you are not about to get better than millisecond resolution.
You can achieve hardware-timed synchronization of your input and output operations using RTSI to share a hardware start trigger for both the input and output. The idea is that you will route the start trigger of one operation to a RTSI line. Then tell the other operation to use the same RTSI line as its start trigger.
Even thought the RTSI bus is used to pass this signal from the AI circuitry to the AO trigger, there
is no need to connect a RTSI cable. In DSA devices, the analog input and output are automatically phase locked. There will be no phase drift between the input and output sample clocks, and minimal phase difference if they are running at the same rate.

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.

I went through the activation process yesterday and shut down my PC when I went to bed last evening. When I got up this morning and turned my PC on and then started Lightrom 6 (I upgraded from version 5) it started to launch but then just hung and became "not responsive". I I then uninstalled and then reinstalled the product today but the same thing happened. What is weird is that when I install from the standalone file I downloaded when I purchased the upgrade it looks like it's downloading the software again over the Internet? I have been having these problems for the last four or five days. I have contacted the chat support folks twice and they were able to get it working but whatever they did did not last as the problem reappeared again once the PC was shut down and then started up again.

What programs would be best to run to test the flickering and temp problem?

My new i7 has not shown any effects yet, but then, I have not put it through any stress tests. I do not want to particularly download too much new stuff. I am trying to work with the new mac as it comes from the factory for about 1 or 2 weeks before I start downloading or transferring files and data.
Are there any programs that are factory installed already, that I can use to really test the iMac both from the standpoint of flickering and temperature?

Certainly this was not a controlled and precise benchmark; I just wanted to make it as busy as I could for a while. No problem detected under the maximum I could manually stress the machine. Has anybody tested the import and linking enhancements in RH 9 HTML?

I am testing a trial version of RH 9. All looks good except I’m not understanding some of the import and linking enhancements. Has anyone tried the new relative path benefit by moving a project or source document? I’ve done both and I get the same results as in RH 8—if the project moves, the links work fine, and when the source document moves, you have to use the “restore to link” feature in order to update the link document. Am I missing something?
Here’s the “what’s new in RH 9” lingo:
RoboHelp 9 saves the relative path, instead of the absolute path, of linked documents. As a result, the links work even when the RoboHelp project and the linked Microsoft Word or FrameMaker documents are moved.
Note: Earlier versions of RoboHelp projects that contain absolute paths of linked documents open normally in RoboHelp 9. While saving these projects, RoboHelp 9 saves the relative path

Looking again at your first post in the thread, it does state on saving RoboHelp 9 changes the path to being relative. If Linking by Copy then it is an enhancement as it avoids the link having to be recreated if you move the project.
For Create by Reference I would say an absolute path is preferable as it then doesn't matter if the project moves and you are saying that does work. If it is the document that moves, somehow RoboHelp has to be told where.
Sounds like what is wrong is the help not qualifying when the relative link is used. You could add a comment to the help to get that fixed.

besides that your ex90 gave me some fan blowing sound (would consider of having audio muted on auto answer)
and a black image.
As long as you have not covered the camera or selected a different input I would have at least assumed
some abient light. So if video is really lacking you might want to check your firewall, ...
Btw, if you have a VCS you should consider of having h323 srv records as well, mainly the _h323ls
which is not present in your setup:

Do I need to set it to synchronize to time.nist.gov?

Firefox 3.6.3 does not save history, nor passwords. I have read the forum and checked my settings in Privacy (all ok), I restarted Firefox in Safe mode (it still does not remember history or passwords). Running on XP. I think these problems started when I upgraded to 3.6.3.

I had the same problem after an upgrade to 3.6.3.
I was using password manager for a number of web sites before. Not using cookies but password manager.
After 3.6.3 auto upgrade it did not work.
I could not enter private browsing mode.
When I looked in tools>options>security at my saved passwords the list was blank. The button in the saved passwords dialog that normally says "Show saved passwords" was actually blank (the button was there but there was no text on it).
I did have my old bookmarks and was able to create new ones but oddly the bookmark all tabs menu function wouldn't work.
I decided to reinstall firefox 3.6.3. There is no way something with that many bugs got out!
I was able to get the full firefox executable from http://mozilla.com
I closed all firefox windows and ran the installation.
After re-running the install and starting firefox everything was fine. It must have been a bad download or the original install got messed up somehow.
I hope you have the same good fortune I had!

I am trying to upload my photos to photo (icloud) from my old macbook pro (2010) and it has been over 24 hours since i started and it is still showing 'updating...'?
How long should this take? I have tried the usual - restart photo; restart mac; turn off and on icloud upload.
the file is about 9000 iphone photos and 100 short videos.

How long is a piece of string?
Essentially it should not take too long (in my experience 20 minutes max from start to finish) although there are many, many factors that can affect the time taken to download and install the upgrade. Namely the reliability of your broadband connection, reliability of your router/firewall; reliability of the wireless connection (assuming you connect to your router wirelessly); downstream bandwidth supplied to your location by your ISP; the 'health' of your iMac; how much disk space for example? This is not an exhaustive list by any means.
If it's any help I would try the wired connection (ethernet) rather than wireless, I would log into your router's interface and double-check it's maintaining a good connection - if necessary reboot the router and try the upgrade again. Try and make sure there's only you using it at the time you do the upgrade.

NI Digital Electronics Board DAC and ADC access from Multisim

Is it possible to use the ADC and DAC functionality of the NI Digital Electronics Board from a circuit designed in Multisim?
I would like to have my students be able to digitally sample an audio input, perform transformations on the data stream, and listen to the effect. Nothing particularly fancy.

In order to use the ADC/DAC you need to define a protocol and this goes beyond the scope of the PLD schematic in Multisim.
LabVIEW can be used to accomplish this, there are some examples that you can use as reference, they can be found in the NI Example Finder.

If you've checked the mute switch as razmee209 has suggested and it's not enabled, the next thing to check would be Do Not Disturb. Do you see a small crescent moon in the status bar? Check Settings>Do Not Disturb and turn it off.
