TestStand 2012 Custom Report Path/Name

Does anybody know how to get a TestStand 2012 report placed in a custom location with a custom name, both of which are determined using information obtained in MainSequence? I had a method of accomplishing this in TestStand 2010, but it does not work in 2012.
Overriding parameters in the ReportOptions callback does not work because MainSequence has not been called yet, and moving the report file in ProcessCleanup doesn't work because the report apparently has not been closed by TestStand yet, so there's nothing that can be moved
Thanks!

Btw, the report file not being closed during Process Cleanup is probably due to New Thread option being set for your report in the Result Processing Dialog Box (click Show More Options to see it). You can turn this option off it you want.

  • Report Path Name

    Hi,
I have a main sequence file with 5 steps each of sequence call type. I use the multi threading option to generate individual reports for each of the sequences in the sequence call.
I configured the report options call back for the main sequence. I gave a different directory path for the report in Parameters.ReportOptions.Directory . The report corressponding to the main sequence is getting generated in the specified directory. But the reports of the sequence calls are getting generated in the directory specified in the reports option menu.
Is it possible to make the reports generate at the required directory by making changes in the main seqnece alone? How to modify the report path name stored in the report options dialog box in the menu.
    Regards
    Gopal

    Hi everyone,
Just an update in reference to Gopals's question:
Is it possible to programatically give value to the directory in Report Options in Configure>>Report Options. Either using expressions in teststand or from Labview code.
TestStand 4.2 gives you the ability to specify the report path using Expressions as well right from the Report Options dialog box. For instance, this can come in handy in situations where you might want to put all Failed UUT reports in one location and all Passed UUT reports in a different location.

  • Custom report: Machine Name Not Match Serial Number

What criteria would I use for a custom report that would show computers
with Machine Names not matching Serial Numbers?

    > What criteria would I use for a custom report that would show computers
    > with Machine Names not matching Serial Numbers?
Don't really see an easy way to do that. You don't get an option to say
machine name not= to serial number or visa versa. The only thing I can
see to do is create a basic workstation report and display machine name
and serial number and do a side by side comparison.

  • How do I add a logo in the header of a TestStand 2012 HTML report?

I've been trying to add a company logo to the header of a HTML report on TestStand 2012 without success. I've followed the help topic below however this seems to be for TestStand 3.1 and does not work on 2012.

In TestStand 2012, the ReportHeader string no longer contains a <body> tag, so you can directly append the extra HTML to the parameter without needing to do a search and replace.  The following expression worked in my case:
    Parameters.ReportHeader = "\R\N<IMG src=\"C:\\NI.JPG\" ALT=\"NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS\">" + Parameters.ReportHeader

  • Substitution string used in custom Report column name does not display in PDF version of report

I am using Apex 4.2.6.00.03, Apex Listener 2 via Glassfish4 and have set up all my applications and reports on this system.  We previously used Oracle 10.2, with Apache with a custom fopping document.
My issue is that I have a report that has custom column headings using a substitution string to pull in the begin or end date for the report.  When the report is run and displayed, the column headings appropriately display the date.  However, when I try to set up the Print to PDF option, the column headings are not displaying correctly.
Is it possible to use a substitution string in the column heading?  I am able to use the substitution string in the Page Header and Page Footer and those display correctly.
In the Report Attributes setup I have set the "Strip HTML" to Yes and I have four columns that are using the &"ITEM NAME". string.  See below for actual display:
The report column headings in APEX displays correctly (bold is the substitution detail):
Fund    Account Description          Balance 07/01/2014     Budget/Goal FY 14-15     YTD Actual 02/28/2015         Ending Balance 02/28/2015
In the Print Attributes setup, when I get to the Report Columns section, the Heading column displays the headings as set up in the Report Attributes custom and I am not able to edit these names.  See below:
In the version of the report that is Printed to PDF I get the following for display:
Fund           Account Description           Balance %26amp;P347_BEGIN_DATE.     Budget/Goal %26amp;P347_FY.     YTD Actual %26amp;P347_END_DATE.     Ending Balance %26amp;P347_END_DATE.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pat

First, the misspelled word is a test object and not data.
    Second, all data display correctly.
Third, text object is displaying the old misspelled word.
Fourth, I have eliminated the possibility that problems in of my pdf export routine cause this issue by exporting directly from Crystal Reports Viewer. I print the report to the crystal report viewer. The report looks good. The text object is spelled correctly. Then I click the Crystal Reports viewer's export button in the left upper corner and I export to both EXCEL and PDF. The excel export looks good. The pdf export is misspelled. All the export occurs internally in Crystal reports.
Fifth, I found outthat all users who have this problem have the ADOBE PDF writer installed. I am just suspicious that ADOBE writer is interferring with Crystal export
Sixth, I cannot recreate this problem on any of our development and test machines. It only happens on end-user laptops.
Seventh, I changed the name of the report that had this problem and created a new version and installed on end-user laptop. The behaviour still persists. User saved the report as both RPT and PDF. RPT export looks good. PDF version has the spelling problem. Data on both reports is up-to-date and good. I copied the same RPT export to my PC and exported it to PDF, the pdf looks good. That is why I think something on the end-users laptops is causing the export to use some cached template.
One more thing I did was to change the report name in VB.NET project, recreated a new package and installed on end-user's laptop. The same exact problem is still there.
I have worked with Crystal Reports more than 15 years and I have never such a weird behaviour before. I know this sounds very weird. We are all baffled by what is happening.

  • SCSM 2012 Custom report Activity reviewer

    Hi Everyone,
We are creating reports for viewing all RA as as their approvers, we already accomplished this. But the problem, we are trying to add the users who added thes reviewers. I can't find a view for this. We are creating reports based on the datawarehouse dwdatamart
views. In console we can view who is the one added a approver via history tab of RA how about in reporting, Thanks in advance.

Accessing history from the operational database is not so easy. Each class and each class extension has an "_Log" table, for example "MT_System$WorkItem$Incident_Log".
These tables contain all of the pre and post values for each class property.
If would probably be easier to create an assembly that queries the history records programatically and add some code to your report to use this assembly and display the information.

  • How can I change the report file name depending on which seq file is run in the main seq?

  • Individual report path with defined file name from the report settings in Testsand 2012

    Hi,
    I have following task:
I want to test stand 2012 in each sequence to change the path of the report file. But the naming of the file is to be maintained as these settings can be made from TestStand into the report (DisplayName + _Report_ [<FileDate>] [<FileTime>] <unique>. <File Extension). I can not find now, however, the / callback parameter on which the components are assembled path and file in TestStand.
While I can read about the callback "GetReportFilePath" the path and file name, and with the expression: Parameters.ReportFilePath = "c: \ \ electro \ \ SHARE \ \ test protocols \ \ Test Logs \ \" change the path, but the file name will no longer be formed from the settings of TestStand.
I have the suspicion that I'm just not accreting at the right place. Can someone please give me a hint?

  • Getting Report File Path location at execution in TestStand 2012 and later

I need to include PNG pictures into my TestStand Report (HTML, XML, ATML).
When report generation was made through plugins (before TestStand 2012), it was easy to get report file location during execution through variable RunState.Root.Locals.ReportFilePath in order to save PNG files near the report file (in same directory).
I didn't find yet an easy an simple way to do the same in TestStand 2012 with Result Processing Plugins.
    Any idea ?
    Remarks :
Since this functionnality has to be included within MESULOG TS+ last version which is a TestStand Add-on, I cannot modify Report Options, Process Model or include a callback (like GetReportFilePath.
In need ReportFilePath within a Custom Step Type which cannot wait for PostUUT or ReportGeneration to save its PNG files.

    jiggawax,
Thank you for you quick answer.
RunState.Root.Locals.ModelPluginConfiguration.Plugins[<plugin index>].PluginSpecific.Options.Directory is valid only if
RunState.Root.Locals.ModelPluginConfiguration.Plugins[<plugin index>].PluginSpecific.Options.DirectoryType is set to "SpecificDirectory".
It seems that I cannot get the complete ReportFilePath before "UUT Done" plugin entry which is after MainSequence execution.

Please let me know a solution to this problem.
    Thanks,
    Dharani

    Jason,
    Thankyou for replying.
Yes, I need only the steps which had failed to print on the report file.
The problem what I am facing is, if there are 10 failed steps, the report is not printed for all.
Also the order of printing is not correct for the first step and the last step which is printed on the report file.
I had used "Post Expression" for printing data for all the failed steps. Normally these post expressions should be printed beneath the step in the report file.
    However,
    1) For the first step which is printed on the html file, the post expression gets printed just above the step and also it gets printed beneath the step.
    2) For the last step which is printed on the html file, the post expression is not printed beneath the step.
Please let me know if i need to provide some more information.
    Thanks,
    Dharani

  • Custom report toshow the "Last Logon User Name"

Is it possible to create a custom report to display the "Last Logon User Name" field that appears in the Properties of each computer object ?

Yes, download the RDL file and modify the report. If the user name is not in one of the current datasets, then you have to add it first.

  • SCOM 2012 - Custom disk space report - Computer Groups

    Hello,
I've created custom disk report with sql query to pull the disk space for all servers. The report has parameters start data,End date and computer name but now my requirement would be to get the disk reports based on custom created computer group, Is it possible
to feed computer group name instead of computer name in the custom reports?

    Hi,
For SCOM 2007, you can’t select a group of servers and run a free disk space report on them. And for 2012 I think it also like that.
But based on my research, someone said that when you create group with Logical Disk targets, it may work. Here are two similar threads for your reference:

  • Report directory property in teststand 2012

    Hi,
I'm trying to programmatically access the report file directory in teststand 2012, the location of which changed vs. 2010.  I found one at:
    RunState.Root.Locals.ModelPluginConfiguration.Plugins[0].PluginSpecific.Options.Directory
But the "[0]" tells me it's 0 probably because the report is the first item in the result processing list, and if that ever changed, my code would break. Is there another location besides the above that holds the report directory?
    Thanks
    David J.

The problem about using [0] is that you are also under the assumption that someone has NOT reordered the list of plugins in the Result Processor list.   To fix that you could check for the name of the Plugin instead of the index.
To do this you could utilize the ModelPluginConfiguration callback.
    Foreach { Parameters.ModelPluginConfiguration.Plugins }
     if { Locals.Plugin.Base.DisplayNameExpression == "\"Report\"" }
           Then obtain the ReportFilePath
Now, if someone decides to delete the Report plugin, then that is another story.
Is there someway to prevent someone from DELETING a Plugin from the Results Processor window?  I imagine privileges probably wouldn't allow a technician or operator to do this, but an admin probably still could.    When it is deleted, it does not appear in the Configuration List, I would assume.
    Thanks,
    PH

  • TestStand 2012 Report File Location variable

    Hi,
In TestStand 2010 SP1, I have the "report file path" as one of the column into the database using the RunState.Report.Location.  This has been working until I upgraded to TestStand 2012.  The RunState.Report.Location is always empty.  I also tried to use the RunState.Root.Locals.ReportFilePath but I get an error that this is an unknow variable when logging to the database.  Even when removing the <UUTStatus> from the file path expression below, there is no difference.
I am using the following report file path expression:
    "C:\\TSReports\\<UUTStatus>\\<ClientFileName>_Report[<FileDate>][<FileTime>][UUT]_<UUTStatus>.<FileExtension>"
Which variable contains the report file path in TestStand 2012.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I haven't tried it, but RunState.Report.Location might work if you set the New Thread option on the Report and Database to False (assuming the report is first in the list) so you can be sure that the Report has been generated before you check that value.
You have to set the Configure>>Result Processing>>Show More Options to see the New Thread options.
This should give you access to the path of the Displayed report (the one with the checkmark in the Display column). However, in TS 2012, you can have any number of reports.
There is a new callback, GetReportFilePath, you can add to your sequences to obtain the report paths as they are determined. You could store the paths in a station global or runtime variable for later use if needed.
