Text as inline block?

I'm having a bit of a problem getting my text to behave the way I want. In Straight HTML (CSS) I can create a inline block div, place text in it and the text stays in the div, returns when it needs to at the end of the DIV, and expands the bottom/height of the div to fit text.
I can't figure out how a to get that same effect in animate. Dose anyone know how?
Can you do this with settings or do I need to code the Css into the div?

Thank you Elaine (I thought i might be forgotten in the pile of forum questions), that did work! However there is a additional problem (thought one answer would fix both). the text is being fed into a text field that is in a symbol. The text dose just what you said it would and expands downward as needed. How can I get the symbol to do the same based on the text?

I usually do it like this -

The labels are right-aligned at a vertical margin, and the

How to add text to the block diagram

How do you add plain text to the block diagram for documentation and can I change the background color to yelllow or something else that may be helpful? see image below

Just double-click in an emtpy area and start typing. Use the coloring tool to color the text background.
(there is also a "free label" in the decorations palette, but that seems like a detour )

Exporting pdf to word - text becomes pic blocks not editable

Just got subscription online and have tried both online and thru READER. Whenever I convert .pdf to .docx it turns the text into pic block in Word, which I can move around and change the size of, but can't edit text. I followed similar thread and turned off OCR recognition in READER and it still did same thing.

With OCR turned off, ExportPDF won't convert scanned text to editable/searchable text. Therefore, if the PDF you're trying to convert was created from a scanned document with image text, then the Word document will also have image text.
Please convert without OCR and then triple-click in the Word document to select the text. Did that do the trick?

Boxed text as inline extending past margins?

Hi,
I actually have a few questions. I have a boxed caption with cornered edges. Once I set the box to cornered edges, my ability to change the inset spacing individually goes away. I want the left, right and top margins to be .15in, but the bottom to be smaller, about .12 in. Anyway to geet around this?
And, with this same type box, the box extends beyond the margins of the text that I want to place it in. Is there anyway to do inline graphics that extend beyond the left margin.
And, is there a way to set up a outlined box with rounded edges that increases/decreases in size as I flow in text. I'm thinking of maybe making it a table, but maybe there's a better way?

You can't adjust the frame insets, but you can increase the paragraph indents to increase the left and right indents overall while leaving the top and bottom alone.
The only thing that can go inline in text and extend beyond the margins is a table. You could add a one-cell table in a paragraph of its own (center aligned if you want it to extend beyond both margins) and paste your frame into that. Out of the box, there is no way to auto-fit a frame to text content as you type or place the text, but I believe Typefi has a plugin...

Labels. Confusing. It colors the folder and text in a block of color.

I've written before about this. I'm wishing and hoping Apple has "fixed" the options for colorizing folders.
My problem is that after using a label color, the folder and the entire line of text are colored in a block of color. With several folders colored, in column view, it looks horrible and it is impossible to tell which folder is the currently highlighted one - the one I am working in.
I did purchase Color Labels, and it does a much better job - it just colors the folder and leaves the text alone. But it has many limitations.
I'm wondering if Apple has changed anything. As I recall, very many others complained about this.

Your first point, fo rhte most part, solves my problem. Though the ideal would be the reverse, which is what Color Labels does; the folder get colored and the line of text is left alone. So much cleaner, less cluttered and garish. But I'm glad to get this much.
Your second point is very noteworthy as well. I never noticed the subtle differences. Likewise with your third point.
With all this in mind, I'm going to try going back to Apple's labeling, and forgo my Color Labels app for a while.

Selecting text under inline graphic

I need to edit text under an inline graphic. I am not able to select / edit the text.
I've tried to "send to back" (the graphic), but it still says above the text.
I'm doing this in order to get round corners around a table.
If you know how to drill down and select the text, I would be much obliged.
I'm using CS4 ME version.

There is no layering with an in-line graphic (what InDesign now calls Anchored Object). The object is inserted in the text flow, and since text flows as it is entered, an in-line object will be cover text that is before it in the flow (ie. before the insertion point) and text after the insertion point will be superimposed on top of it. That doesn't mean that you can directly select that text that appears to be "on top" of the object though. To select that text you will need to position your cursor in text that is not covered by the graphic and use the arrow keys to navigate to the point in the text that you want to edit. (alternately you could just use find/change).
You should still post a screen shot of what you're doing because there may be more to it than this. For instance, if your in-line graphic is a table that is already in a text frame as opposed to simply inserted into the text, you could be unnecessarily complicating things.

Photosmart 2575 prints text in black blocks so where text used to be, only a black block appears!

My Photosmart 2575 has suddenly started to replace all text with big black blocks of ink.
The issue has occured after I installed - and uninstalled - another HP all in one printer (can not remember name and number).
Have uninstalled all HP printer related drivers and applications, re-booted computer and installed the AiO_071_000_201_000_CDA_DriverOnly_Network_dan_NB.exe application again, but still the same!
Can someone please advice?

When e-mailing pdfs, the text becomes blurry/blocked, but not images

Recently, when e-mailing pdfs to certain individuals, they complain that the pdfs they receive contain blocked/blurry text. ALL of the text is dropped or blurred, but not the images. I originally thought that it was a probelm with only the pdfs created from Publisher, but this week it happened to several pdfs that I did not originally create. One person uses his iPad to view files, and wants all pdfs created as "Print to PDF" options--however, that compromises the resolution of the file. Does anyone else experience this probelm? Is there a solution?

Please let me know which device are they trying to open the PDFs on? Are they trying to open it on their desktops or on a portable device?
Also, what happens if the same PDF is not opened via mail but is open directly on the individuals machine? Is the behavior the same.

Speech to text feature deleting blocks after pause, what happened?

A week or two ago, my speech to text started to delete entire blocks of words, and start over in the beginning of a thought (spoken).
I have never had this problem and historically could speak to text an entire e-mail. I understand others with Google phones are seeing this lately as well.
I have tried to change settings, restart, pull battery/sim..etc... nothing fixes this issue.
I need to get details on how to correc this. It's a major problem as I use this often for work, but in current state its unusable.

I have, several times, as mentioned in the original message.
This seems to be a major problem for many people, seen below in this link. Its recent.
I need to know what the fix is. This is my work phone and its a major problem. Please help.

What is the best way to split large blocks of text into smaller blocks?

Hello, I have several pages with 2,000 word articles of text. As you can imagine these pages are not terribly interesting design-wise, something I plan to change.
The first thing I need to do is split up these blocks of text into much smaller blocks so that they can easily be moved around and independently manipulated. What's the quickest way to do this in Muse?

You can create different text frames and copy the text, which if you wish you can group them together which will help in moving them around on page.

When i am texting the keyboard blocks the message being typed how do i move the keyboard so it doesn't block the message

I have an iPad Air WiFi 16GB.When I try to text a message the keyboard blocks the message area and I cannot see what is being written. It worked fine then just out of the blue started blocking messages. I’ve tried dragging it down but it won’t stay.Help is appreciated.Thanks

Also go to settings> general> keyboard> split keyboard> off. Now the keyboard won't leave the bottom of the page.

Is There Any Way To Select A Text Message And Block The Sender?

I have received a few text messages that show partial email addresses as the sender. I cannot see the entire address. How can I block them?
The free blocking service on My Verizon requires you to enter a phone number but (1) these do not show a phone number and (2) I cannot see the entire email address.

The free Call and Messaging block feature was designed to block ten digit mobile numbers only. http://vz.to/MqEgqB I apologize that this feature is unable to block e-mail addresses. However, if this is a marketing text message, we recommend that you reply with the word "STOP" to remove your mobile number from that mailing list.

Text messaging forwarding - blocked numbers appearing on MacBook Air

Since updating to iOS 8.1.1 I have noticed that text messages (SMS) that were coming from some numbers I had originally blocked on my iPhone 4S have now started appearing on my MacBook Air (Yosemite). Is there any way of removing these text messages (SMS) from my Air? i.e. the same way as I block them on my iPhone?

I followed Justin's path and got it to work as well.

However, I was finally able to get this to work. I am using a MacBook Pro Retina(Late 2012) and I'm not entirely sure which thing I did to make it work but I will tell you what I have enabled.
I went to privacy-->Location services-->system services(all the way at the bottom), I turned on Wifi Networking. I had it disabled due to wifi issues and it was suggested that I turn it off. I also made sure that Share My Location was enabled. Other than that, I went to settings-->messages--> Send & Receive and made sure one of the email addresses that I can be reached at was my iCloud account. That enabled the "Start New Conversations From" part of the settings to show up, in which I only have my phone # selected. That last part is also the same on my MacBook under preferences for iMessages. And then when it asked me for the code, my messages app at the bottom of my MacBook started bouncing. I clicked it and the code showed up in the iMessage Window.
I was using this thread to help me figure out how to do it too, and stumbled upon a solution for myself. If you are trying on the iPad, I assume a dialog box should pop up with ur number on it, if not, maybe try opening iMessage and just see what happens?

Kin one text message being blocked

Hi I have a kin one. I have text messaging on my phone. But when I get a message from a friend I get another message that states blocked. Why? Is there something turned off?

Please provide additional information. Are you able to read the first message? Is the second message showing any details? Does this only happen with a specific sender or is the issue with all the text messages you receive?
