Text trucated in  report oracle 10g

Hi,
I have problem with report, when a execute my report in web my text trucated.
Any ideas ?
Thank in advance

Well, instead of being confused, you could go to http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/portal.portal_db?selected=1 and look at
1) the licensing document, which would tell you whether you need a separate license, and
2) under the 'Books' tab, look at the Text Application Developer's Guide or the Text Reference manuals for details.
You could also look for the Oracle Text forum (from the http://forums.oracle.com page, under Database - More, or Text and ask the people who concentrate on that set of features.
In general, Oracle Text is a set of extensions, the definitions for which are stored under user ctxsys. You would use these extensions by creating your own objects that are based on the extensions.
For example, suppose your tables contain varchar2 columns. Create indexes that are based on ctxsys's 'context index type' and your application can then use the 'CONTAINS' keyword search capability (which is effectively a ctxsys-owned extension to the select)
However, you would never log on to ctxsys and do anythibng with that as you risk changing the template code that Oracle has supplied.

PS: Yes, Oracle Text is included as part of the base database. Most of it is even included in the free Oracle XE database.

  • URGENT !!!!!!!!!How to pass parameters to Forms from Reports(Oracle 10g)

    Hai
    I can call a form named "ABC" from one Report, using "hyperlink" . The URL is
    http://....../forms90/f90servlet?form=c:/ABC&userid=a/a@a
    Now I want to pass 2 parameters (that are received in that report) to the form ABC.
    I am using Oracle 10g.
    What to do?
    Please reply soon.
    I am eagerly waiting for the solution.
    Please Help.
    Bye

    Hai
    Thank u for the reply.
    Is it possible to pass the variable instead of values.
    My report receives 2 parameters named p1 & p2. Actually I want to pass that parameters to the form from the report.
    I have tried as You said.
    //http/.........&otherparams=param1=:p1+param2=:p2
    Then the form receives the ":p1" as the value, it does not take the value of that variable p1.
    Please Reply Soon.
    Bye...

  • How to execute exact match & contains text search simultaneoulsy in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
    We have scenario where there are more than 50 million rows in a table with description column length as 1000 character. We have a web interface from where we generate a rule of comma separated keywords like
    "Standard", Single, Cancel, "deal"    & so on. The words in quotes needs to be checked for exact match & the one without quotes will be searched using contains.
    The problem is that we can have a rule of such a combination as large as 4000 characters of inclusion & 2000 such characters for exclusion (not to consider the description under exclusion) and this search when run on the table with millions of rows does not work using oracle regular expression, but works with smaller no. of search keywords.
    Is there a better way to do such a kind of search in Oracle or if not then outside oracle using any other tool
    Thanks,
    AP

  • Displaying both Hindi and Arabic numerals in Oracle 10g PDF report

    Hi….
    Oracle experts told us to ask “In how many ways we can do it in oracle?” instead of asking “Can we do it in Oracle?” , I need ONE way to solve the following problem, it toke to much time and I don’t know if it can be solved !
    The problem:
    Can we print in - Oracle 10g reports - a PDF report with BOTH Hindi and Arabic numerals?
    Well, at design time everything is fine, you can use right-to-left, left-to-right and the print preview is showing BOTH Hindi/Arabic numerals fine, but when I tried to produce it as a PDF, unfortunately its not, means its either all Hindi or all Arabic numerals !
    I tried everything possible, environment variables: NLS_LANG, REPORTS_BIDI_ALGORITHM, and REPORTS_ARABIC_NUMERLS, setting Digit substitution to Context in windows regional settings, uifont.ali is modified properly according to metalink note, but nothing solved this issue!
    I noticed something, when I used the DESTYPE=printer and DESNAME=PDF995 (one of the PDF printers) , it worked fine , means the problem could be in the generic PDF generator of the Oracle reports server,
    But even with PDF995 you still need to feed the file name, which is not suitable for multi-user environment that need the report to be displayed via web browser.
    Does anybody face this before?

  • Oracle 10g Text  - UK Corporate Consultancy Wanted

    The management information team I work in already has an in-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g database management and SQL. We are now interested in being able to extend that capability to include ad hoc text mining with Oracle for our group wide customer base, and specifically to be able to do proactive (unsupervised clustering) text mining - less bleeding edge, more leading edge.
    We have recently set up a instance of the software and have begun to work with sample data to explore its features and determine the base setup. To support that, and to develop an application that can be used to provide future processing, visualisation and reporting capabilities we need 10g Text expertise and knowledge - and ideally from a source that has already built an application that works. The search for expertise has not been fruitful to date - are there any consultants with a UK corporate presence who really do have those skills and can help us?
    Kind Regards,
    Glenn Barker

    Hi Glenn
    Are you after a single consultant or consultancy? If you have a core competency on 10g, then the information in Oracle documentation coupled with this forum should be sufficient to not require additional assistance.
    As an aside, what is the front end you are using to manage these MIS style reports?

  • Cannot generate AWR/ADDM reports in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
    We are running 10.2.0.3.0 and troublshooted the performance problem for some queries. But when tried to run AWR/ADDM reports from OEM and got the following messages:
    Insufficient Data in Interval. For displaying data on this page, two historical snapshots are needed. Make sure that two snapshots are present in the target database instance. In addition modify the interval so that it is contained within two available snapshots
    I checked the scheduled jobs in this DB,
    Connected to:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    With the Partitioning, Real Application Clusters, Oracle Label Security and Data Mining options
    SQL> select JOB_NAME from dba_scheduler_jobs;
    JOB_NAME
    PURGE_LOG
    FGR$AUTOPURGE_JOB
    GATHER_STATS_JOB
    AUTO_SPACE_ADVISOR_JOB
    Has anyone anyidea why AWR/ADDM reports cannot be run? Thanks
    Liz

    Hi,
    If you want you can execute snapshot at your required time as suggested by people.
    However Oracle 10g by default take snap at every one hour.
    To check
    select snap_id, to_char(BEGIN_INTERVAL_TIME,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI') BEGIN_INTERVAL_TIME,
    to_char(END_INTERVAL_TIME,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI') END_INTERVAL_TIME
    from dba_hist_snapshot
    You can generate AWR Report by executing following SQL, Connect as SYS
    SQL> @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/awrrpt.sql
    Input required details it asks, you can get AWR report in HTML or text format.
    ADDM Report:
    @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/addmrpt.sql

  • Query Regarding Rich Text Editor in Oracle 10G

    Hello.
    Can anyone let me know is their any privilege in Oracle 10g that we Incorporate the Rich Text Editor functionality. Currently we are working on Laboratory / Radiology Template based Reports in which they are requesting their should be option through which we can simply Cut and Paste our organized TEXT(REPORT) which are formatted in MS WORD with Bold,Underline and in Bullets format, it should simply paste in Editor and we can view a Template based report with formatted REPORT.
    We are using Oracle 10G and it's Applet based Application. Any clue how can we Accomplish this? Any Suitable Suggestion?
    Thanks

    Sorry, I referred this already.. This also returns the HTML text. But i don't want the HTML text. I want Normal Text what i enter in the Editor. But as of now all the editors are returning HTML text. So in the front end also it is showing HTML text only.
    I entered the text in Editor as
    System Defaulted Note
    Quote entered
    But editor returns as below and the same way it is showing in the Front end application instead of above text.
    <html>
    <head>
    </head>
    <body>
    System Defaulted Note
    <p>
    Quote entered
    </p>

  • Oracle 10g reports migration to Oracle 11g migration

    I have migrated oracle 10g reports to Oracle 11g reports and generated REP file. But when we execute REP file using RWRUN.EXE I am getting below error.
    ERR REP-50125: rwbuilder.conf:java.lang.NullPointerException
    ERR java.lang.NullPointerException
    to avoid this I tried below work arround which was posted in "https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2365028" URL. but not success.
    1. Go to C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\FRComponent\frcommon\tools\admin
    2. Make a backup of the file 'cauprefs.ora'
    3. Open up the file in a text editor:
    --In the file, look for:
    Reports.PluggableDataSourceFactories =
    ("oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.xmlpds.XMLDataSourceFactory",
    "oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.jdbcpds.JDBCDataSourceFactory",
    "oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.textpds.TextDataSourceFactory")
    --Replace the value to: Reports.PluggableDataSourceFactories = ()
    4. Save the file and try running Reports Builder again. Data Model should open up without crashing.
    Could you please help me to resolve this issue.

    When I use rwrun.bat report is not invoking i use below command line. I am executing rwrun.bat from C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\reports\bin path.
    rwrun.bat report="C:\Program Files\prnsrv\advices\01\bcacuchq.rep" userid=dbuserid/[email protected] desformat=pdf DESTYPE=file DESNAME="c:\temp\test.pdf" TRACEFILE="C:\TEMP\test.LOG" PRM_BRCH_CODE=781 PRM_PROD_CODE=BC PRM_PROD_REF_ID=BC11100142 PRM_ORDER_COL=DELIVERY_MODE PRM_CHQ_RPT=Y

  • ORACLE reports Build 10g - Data Model - query - If statement in Alias ?

    I have the following select statement. It has the alias Survivors, Deaths and "All
    With the ORACLE reports Build 10g - Data Model - I have the following query statement. I require the alias to change. Can the following be done.
    Cases". Is it posible to use :P_LANGUAGE variable to say that -- IF :P_LANGUAGE = FRENCH THEN alias are Survivants for survivors, Décès for Deaths, Tous_les_cas for All Cases. Please advise
    SELECT ALL T_NTR_MULTIBAR.CAT, T_NTR_MULTIBAR.NUM_CASES_LEFTBAR AS Survivors,
    T_NTR_MULTIBAR.NUM_CASES_MIDDLEBAR AS Deaths, T_NTR_MULTIBAR.NUM_CASES_RIGHTBAR AS "All Cases"
    FROM T_NTR_MULTIBAR
    WHERE INSTANCE_NUM = :P_INSTANCENUM
    order by ORDERS

    It is no problem, you can automatically change the complete query before the report is running, which delivers you different kind of values. But the alias names does not change in the group of the data-model, although two query are running with different alias names at different times. In the data model you see the alias names of the first implemented select statement, which are the column fields in the layout.

  • Calling a Web Service in Oracle Report Developer 10g?

    Hello,
    Does Oracle Report Developer 10g supports Web Services (calls) or XML files as a Data Source?
    If yes. From what version?
    Thanks.

    ok, so you have at least 2 solutions:
    1. you get the data into a loop through your Java array.
    2. you use the EXEC_SQL package function to create a dynamic SQL cursor
       Select ... from the_table where code in ('c1', ..., 'cn')Francois
