TFS Power Tool 2013 Process Editor won't launch

I installed VSTF 2013 (Team Explorer for Visual Studio 2013) and also TFS Power Tool (12.0). I rebooted after installing and then launched VSTF successfully and connected to my Team Project successfully. I then go to ""Tools>Process
Editor>Work Item Types>Open WIT from Server" and nothing happens. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling both VSTF and Power Tool and still same behavior. TFS Process Template Editor is also installed. Running on Windows 8.1. Can
anyone help me?

I'd like to know whether you have installed Visual Studio on your server. If you use TFS 2013 power tools, please make sure to fit for the prerequisites. TFS 2013 power tools require VS pro and up, see this
page for more information. And you can install Visual Studio 2013 Pro and up to check if the issue can be resolved.

I don’t see this issue on my side. If possible, I suggest repairing or reinstalling your VS2013 and VS2013 Update 4 and then installing Productivity Power Tools2013 from here:

Tools in PSE8 editor won't work properly

Sometimes I cannot use the tools in the editor. I only get the "hand" no matter what tool I choose, and even if I quit PSE completely and reload the program again, the hand is still there. The only way to get the tools to work is to reboot the PC and reload PSE. Any clues?

Photoshop Elements 13 Editor won't launch

I've downloaded Photoshop Elements 13, which I've purchased. After completely installing and signing in with my Adobe ID, I'm prompted to accept the EULA again. After clicking Accept, the application closes and doesn't open.
I've uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed the application on my Win 8.1 64-bit system. I had downloaded the PSE 12 trial, which i've uninstalled as well. I know that something was not uninstalled, because after the re-installation I don't see the original splash screen prompting me to choose between the Organizer and the Editor. When I selected the Organizer, it would open fine. I changed the preferences to open immediately in the Editor, hoping that it would launch if that were its only option. This didn't work either. I also tried Adobe online chat support and they advised that they had no online solution to my problem and to post a question in the forum. There is also no phone support option for PSE. What do I do now?

Organizer freezes and Editor won't launch on Win 7 Pro

I am at my wit's end and I don't have that many wits! I have now been through two super techs and many techs who had troubleshooted the problem and even reinstalled Elements 10 for the umpteenth time! I finally can get Organizer to run by using the new short cut I created but Editor refuses to display anything other than a small gray box on the upper right side of my desktop and a border that is missing a substantial amount of pieces! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

Elements 12 organiser and Photo Editor won't launch

I had to uninstall Elements 12 and then re-install it but now I cannot open Photo Organizer or Photo Editor - PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP. I find the support for this programme very scarce!!!!

Yes renaming means renaming to something like newopm.db but this solution might not work for you.
See there are two issues mentioned above:
Case 1.Sign in window keeps on appearing again and again
Case 2.Editor does not load but keeps on churning
opm.db solution solution is for Case1 and for Case 2 you need to rename SLCache folder @ <<C:\Program Files (x86)(or Program Files for 32 bit machine)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache >> and then try to launch editor

Firefox runs as process, but won't launch browser window

When I try to open Firefox I can see that the process is running in my task manager, but no browser window launches. I 've uninstalled and re-installed FF. I've also re-named my mozilla application data folder so it creates a new user profile before doing a fresh install. None of this helps.

Process Viewer won't launch

Using OS 10.2.4 on 933 MHzG4 1.25 GB RAM
I have been using Process Viewer to check memory use and CPU use whenever I get the spinning beachball.
About 2 weeks ago it first failed to launch with "Error 100" message.
Now, I'm not getting that. Nothing happens when I click on it and I don't see any activity on Console Log
I've used Disk Utility to fix Preferences on the partition with the OS on it and then repeated this to make sure nothing has been missed. No other applications show launch problems. I can launch Console Log and Terminal OK and run PhotoShop, browsers, email Eudora.
I did recently upgrade "A Better Finder Rename" and have not tried to disable this or revert to the prior version to see if this is a problem and will do this and will add to this post when I have results.
Meanwhile, any ideas?

Bingo! The pref trash didn't work and logging on with
another account WAS able to launch Process Viewer
with no problem.
This result indicates that the problem is somehow related to your account. It might be some preference file in your account, something in your startup items or something else unique to your account that is causing the problem. Since Process Viewer works in another account, we can conclude that the software for that app is okay.
I'm a fairly regular user of DiskWarrior to check
files/rebuild and even more prevalently use Disk
Utility to repair permissions (what's the sense of
verifying, I'm going to fix it anyway) and they
didn't find any problems. I guess there are internal
code problems that these don't access/check.
These are good things to do and can catch a variety of problems. One other thing that you might consider is to clean the caches in your account. Software that you can use for that is discussed in Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption.
I had to redo my OS a few months ago and moving
prefs from old OS to the new install was tedious to
say the least. I felt that I had to do this to
regain prefs and setup mods I made to various
utilities and applications.
If your problem had started right after this, I would suspect that it was related to this move. However, you said that the problem started a few weeks ago, so I see little reason the move as a cause of your problem.
Wiil I run the risk of contaminating the new
account with whatever was the problem with the old
one? Any ideas on how to avoid this?
By the new account, I assume that you mean the one that you tested Process Viewer in as discussed at the start of your message. This is a tough call. Sometimes, files in a user account become corrupted and cause bizarre problems with an app. If that is what happened to you, then you will not be contaminating a new account by starting to use it. However, the problem might also be related to some software that you are using only in your own account. If you start using that software in another account, you would probably start having problems again. So, if you have any software that falls in this category, my advice would be to start slowly - add one item at a time and see if you can run for a while without a problem. Also, you said that you did recently upgrade "A Better Finder Rename". If this was done shortly before your problem started, I would definitely urge you to remove this code from your system and see if the problem goes away.
A couple of other things to try if there is no joy at this point:
- try a Safe Boot as described in Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode. That disables certain extensions to your system. If you can run Process Monitor okay after a Safe Boot, then there are some directories to check for problem files. But, we can cross that bridge later. Also, even if a Safe Boot works, you probably will not want to run that way for very long, because it disables some things that you probably need - such as printing, perhaps wireless capability and more.
- Try disabling your login items as set in System Preferences > Accounts > Your Account >Startup Items (or perhaps Login Items). If you have items shown there, you can disable them by selecting them with the mouse and then clicking the "-" sign.

Adobe Elements 13 photo editor won't launch

apparently this has happened to a lot of people, but I don't see any actual solutions to the issue.
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Organizer/Editor screen launches, clicking Editor gives striped progress for a few seconds, then stops.
Naturally this only happens when I have a deadline to meet. So irritating. I can't believe I actually paid money for this product.

no signIn screen, just wouldn't launch. It turned out, I think, that the problem was due to an update I had accepted some days previously which failed. That shouldn't happen either, neither the failure or the bad consequences, but eventually when I rebooted and tried again, the update prompt appeared again and succeeded. After that Elements began to work correctly again. In the meantime was a lot of frustration and trying a number of likely but wrong suggestions from the forum. Not at all impressed by the experience. I certainly let everyone I know know about it

How to specify a collection-based TFS group name in process template XML

I'm trying to modify a work item template so that only members of a certain group can modify it. I have the following:
<FIELD name="State" refname="System.State" type="String" reportable="dimension">
<HELPTEXT>The workflow state of the requirement</HELPTEXT>
<READONLY not="[project]\Requirements Editors" />
</FIELD>
However, I want to be able to add this group globally, or at the very least to a collection instead of a project. The questions I have are:
I know how to add a new group to a collection (as opposed to a project), but how do I change the XML syntax to see it? I know I can use the prefix [project] to check the current project, but how can I do the same generic thing for a collection instead of
having to name it here? I have tried [Collection] but that doesn't seem to work.
Is there some way to make this global? That is, I don't want to have to add this group to each collection, so is there a way to make it accessible by all collections/projects? If so, what is the XML syntax I need, and how do I add the group?
Even with the basic [project] syntax, and adding the group to a particular project I still can't seem to update the template as I get the following error: "TF212017: Work item tracking schema validation warning: TF26171: User/group '2f0bf5ee-d0f9-4441-b8ad-cbd38b00c407\WHSCC
Requirements Editors' is not found." What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks for your post.
For collection group in work item template, we should write like this: [Global]\collectiongroupname.
The [project] mean current team project, so you need ensure you have created that Requirements Editors group in your current team project, then edit the work item type in current team project.
And I suggest you install the TFS Power Tools, then edit work item type using VS>>TOOLS>>Process Editor.

Safari won't launch on on iPad - Where to get help?

As of 7:00 pm last evening (2/16/2013) my Safari won't launch via my iPad. It is not a wireless connection problem as my other devices work just fine and load. I have narrowed it down to Safari just not connecting. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks

Elements 8 Editor fails to launch

While using PSE 8 editor, it crashed - there was an error message and it shut down. When I tried to launch it again, the organizer will launch, but not the editor, even if I try to launch it from the organizer workspace. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but still have the same problem. I have gotten a message a couple of times that there was an error in a file and that it should be deleted, but even after deleting it, and restarting Elements, the editor won't launch. Any ideas?

In Windows Explorer, right click (once) on the icon to which the blue arrow points.
Now you should see the dialog to which the two red arrows point. Left click where indicated to create the desktop shortcut

Issue with migrating 'WI' using 'TFS migration tool' when trying migrate from '2013 to 2013'

Our final destination is to migrate projects from TFS-2010 to TFS-2013, for testing and familiarizing with the
migration tool we trying to migrate project within the 2013 server and between two servers of 2013,
we don't have any issues with migrating source code, we done it successfully,
but when we try to migrate 'WI' within same server and also tried to between two server we are getting two
different errors respectively when tried within server and between server, unable to migrate 'WI' in any scenario, log files attached for the same. Log file 'error-1' is the errors generated while trying migrate 'wI' within the same server and 'error-2' is
the errors generated while trying migrate 'wI' between two server, Need ur guidelines to over come these issues.

Based on your description, I'd like to know the version of TFS integration tools you're using and the error details when migrate work items. If you use TFS integration tools 2012, please make sure you have Team Explorer 2012 installed on your server machine.
Please also let us know the configuration you used for the migartion. If you migrate between different domains, make sure the domains have two-way trust relationship. If the issue persists, check the event logs to see if there any useful information and
elaborate more details about your scenario with screenshots.

New Arch kernel won't launch OpenShot video editor [SOLVED]

I just re-installed Arch the other day and now OpenShot Video Editor won't startup.

I downloaded the openshot tarball off their website (openshot.com) and checked/installed the list of dependencies that came with it in the README file, (this)
OpenShot Video Editor is programmed in Python, and thus does not need
to be compiled to run. However, be sure you have the following
dependencies in order to run OpenShot successfully:
1) Python 2.5+ (http://www.python.org)
2) GTK & pyGTK (http://www.pygtk.org)
3) GooCanvas & Python bindings (http://live.gnome.org/GooCanvas)
4) MLT Framework (http://www.mltframework.org)
5) Sox audio library
6) Frei0r video effect library
7) FFmpeg
Afterwards, I cd into the openshot directory, to run this command:
$ sudo python setup.py install
which triggers the setup.py file in it, but the shell gave me this error output

we have tried to install Windows Phone Developer Power Tools (8.1) in a Lumia 730 device, but due to an error we can't do it.
We do it through Visual Studio 2013 Update 4:
- Menu TOOLS
- Windows Phone 8.1
- Developer Power Tools
- Select the device and click to Connect.
It is requested to install the tools on the device, but when we click on "install", there is an error (German text):
0x80070057 - Es kann nicht nach Paketen vom Updateserver gesucht werden
(It is not possible to search packets in the update server.)
We have tried it on different computers, but it doesn't work.
Is there anything we could do?
