Thai region workarounds??

                 Hi All,
We have recently set up a UC320W with a number of SPA303 and 301 phones. Quite happy with the system although we are having a couple of problems as it seems a region pack is not yet available for us over here.
We have found that the Malaysian pack works well enough for our purpose. However there are two slighly frustrating issues and I was wondering if anyone knew of a workaround?
Questions;
1. Is there anything in the pipeline for a Thai region pack?
2. Unable to dial Thai mobile phones as 10 digit numbers. (landlines are 9 digit so no problem with Malaysian pack)
3. Time showing as Malaysian time zone so 1 hour out.

Thank you for your candid and rather blunt reply. Strangely I am now left with a sort of guilty feeling!?!
Prior to ordering the an IP voice system we done some research and as our network is nearly 100% Cisco equipment based we obviously went to Cisco. The local dealer / distributer never mentioned a thing about it not being supported.
We have already stripped out our old phone system, reconfigured our other network systems etc so just dropping this now is more than just 'getting a refund'!
After looking through other forum posts, it seems that a lot of us in, let’s say, not first world countries, are happy with using other regions and accept the fact that by doing so we will not receive full support and not have access to all functions. However it would be very helpful to allow us to make some minor adjustments such as basic customs dial plans and time zone changes. I am sure most would be willing to accept a waiver to get such assistance; in turn this would probably help in your product development?
Either way, we will still carry on using this system as it is an upgrade on our last setup.

    The error is every easy to reproduce.
    1. On Windows XP, goto "Control Panel" -> "Regional and Language Options" -> "Standards and format"; and change that to "Thai"
    2. Invoke "jdevstudio11110install.exe"
    3. Always click "Next" until the error dialog appear.

    From my experience, this always have something to do with the Buddhist Era year system (AD + 543).

  • Budgets based on Regions - workaround

    Hi
    I have read a few questions on the forum with regards to Budgets and Profit Centers etc, we pretty much have the same scenario where the company will have regions and will need to base Budgets off these regions, I have gone through and added Budget Scenarios per Region (which is setup as a Project in SBO).
    Is this viable or attainable?
    They will do postings where they will have to select a project so we can record the correct costs or revenues for this region but my question basically is "will this be possible with so many Budget Scenarios with the same GL Accounts" my feeling = not but if someone can point me in a workaround this will be much appreciated.

    Hi Kurt Walters,
    Your feeling is correct.  The whole idea to use one company for different legal entities may not work at all.  Only if they are really only branches that do not need separate statement, it is ok.  In this case as the budget, you have to set up all different accounts for individual account budgets.

    The billing address for your card must match the residential address on your PSN account for the transaction to complete.
    Are they both registered to the same address?

    I'm planning a journey in Thailand and I would like to know what I have to do display Thailand maps on my 6210 navigator ?
    Also I would like to know in which language I have to enter the adresses I'm looking for ? French ? English ? Thai ?

    well i know u have to load the map data into the phone using the nokia map loader
    can download that from http://europe.nokia.com/maps
    as to what language to key in, thats a pretty good question
    what i could recommend u do is load the maps into the phone then manually browse to the thai region to see how the addresses are recorded. then when searching u can enter it in the same format as u see on the phone

    it used to be like that when I first turned it on. Then I mess with the setting and it's gone. The region setting was "Thailand (English)" but now it is "Thailand (Thai)". is there anyway to change it?

  • Switching the DVD drive region code - Is there a workaround?

    Hi - would appreciate a confirmation or helpful hints how to circumvent the regional settings.
    I understand from the Apple doc, http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60183, that the regional coding is set in the firmware of the drive and not linked to the player (as I had apparently incorrectly surmised). If this is the case, then installing an additional player such as the VLC media player for Mac OS X (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html) to use for say Region 1 discs, and maintaining Apple's DVD Player set for Region 2 discs would not prevent the drive from freezing the 5th time a different region coded disc is slid into the drive.
    Right?
    If so, the only work around would be to install an external DVD drive to set to an alternative region, right? Or does somebody know a cute way to disable the firmware coding and set the drive to multiple regions. This must be possible because DVD players are available commercially which have been set to region code 0.

    It has been reported that VLC overrides the 5 region code option. You will need to read their documention on their website. Otherwise................
    You can change the computers region "only 5 times". Then it's locked in the 5th version/region (until you erase your HD & start all over.).

    If I DON'T include this code, both recordsets display data,

    WorldPay support can't actually tell you what's wrong, nor do
    you receive an
    error line or anything, however I know it's the repeat region

    to have to force a re-direct and an auto-submission of a form

  • Setting the project tempo to match an audio region

    The manual is pretty clear on how to do this but it talks in terms of one bar audio regions vs. an entire song. I'm trying to do a remix of a song that has subtle although very definate tempo variances throughout. The audio file of the original is imported into Logic and I've tried Options>Tempo>Adjust Tempo using Region Length and Locators but it's giving me one global tempo which does not match up when I compare the audio file to the click. It's not telling me where the tempo changes occur in my tempo track either. I'm wondering if it's even possible to do this. I could beatmap it? I don't know. Should be an easy thing to do.
    I suppose a workaround could be to bus the audio file to an aux and then record that aux's output like I was recording it live but that seems like overkill.

    The best tool for this is the beatmapping track. It's pretty easy to do, depending on your material, and it will conform Logic's clock to your audio's tempo, with appropriate tempo changes.
    Once you beatmapped your track, Logic is in sync with it and you can then add sequences and use quantize etc.

    I add a page flow as region into a page. The page flow has a return parameter. How to get the return value in parent page?

    I have been also intrigued by this question.
    There is however a workaround that you can set the values in requestScope.
    We can have a regionNavigationListener on the region and catch the end of taskflow if viewid is null.
    regionNavigationEvent.getNewViewId() == null
    Here we can read the request values and set wherever to be used.

  • Problem with SQL query region source containing OLAP clauses

    Hi team,
    I believe I found a bug when HTMLDB validates the SQL Query in a report region.
    My query includes an ORDER BY clause within a windowing function and HTMLDB refuses to accept the source owing to the presence of the ORDER BY and the column heading sort preference.
    Clearly the order-by in a window function has little to do with the column heading sort, but this error prevents me from updating the conditional display item in the page definition.
    Note also that the page was imported smoothly from the 1.5 version, so probably the region source is not checked at that time, but only when you update it "manually".
    So, in the end, if I don't change anything the page works because the sql query is assumed to be correct but unfortunately I need to change the condition and I cannot.
    The problem shows up in page 126 of app 21670, SQL query region.

  • 2 Report -Regions combine in 1 Report-Region but 2 different SQL-Querys

    I have a question.
    I have a page and within this page 2 different report-regions. Each of this regions has its own sql-query.
    Now I would like to concentrate them in 1 report with one title. But there are still 2 differnet sql-query
    that I can't combine. My issue is that I only want to show the result in one report.
    Does this work or is there a workaround I could do?

    Hi,
    As the report region's title is just whatever text you've entered, you can just put the title on the second report onto the first report and set the second report to use "No Template". You would probably need to remove the pagination settings for both reports - select No Pagination and set the row count to a high number.
    The final bit would probably require a new report template - you can create a copy of the existing report template that you're using - and remove the Column Heading Template setting. This is only necessary if you need to remove the column headings from the second report. There would be a gap between the two reports - not sure if you need to remove this as well? If so, you would have to adjust both templates to remove the this from the bottom of the first report and the top of the second report.
    I think that how you go about this will depend on exactly what you need to see between the two reports - if they need to look as though they are just a single report then you may have to complete all of the above steps.

  • Version 3.1 fault - ORA-06502 error when creating SQL Report Region/Page

    I usually perfect my query in SQL*PLUS before I create a new report region.
    Consequently, I copy the code into the region wizard to create the new page. However, since we have upgraded to Version 3.1, virtually every report I have tried to create has created the following error:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    It would appear that a maximum of 960 characters can be used to create the region/page. Perversely, once the page/region has been created, I can then edit the source and include as much code as I want (so far I've not run up against a limit)
    As it's just annoying, but not stopping me doing what I wanted to do, I've not got around to mentioning this error previously, but it occurred to me that I should (so I am!)

    Thank you for reporting this. Unfortunately, this was a regression introduced in Application Express 3.1. The workaround is to edit the region, as you suggested. This has been filed as Bug 6956070 and will be corrected in the forthcoming Application Express 3.1.1 patch set.

  • SQL Report Region error in 4.0

    Hi guys,
    Forgive me if this issue has been discussed already. My server was updated to 4.0 and my report region now displays with the column headers above the wrong columns - they are slipped to the left one place. I looked at the source code and I think I found the problem. The code is below. The table id parameter is missing an end quote. This is just for Deafult Look 4.
    I don't think there is anything I can do on my end, but let me know if I am wrong. Thanks.

    Hi Bill,
    I reviewed the procedure which emits the HTML for these built-in report templates, and you are correct - there is a missing trailing double quote after the ID attribute of the TABLE tag. I believe this affects all built-in report templates.
    I have filed internal bug 9880291 and this will be a high priority for us to include in the forthcoming Application Express 4.0.1 patch set. A workaround (albeit not elegant) is to use one of the theme's report templates and not one of the built-in report templates. I'll ask internally if there is any other viable solution to this problem in the meantime.

    we have product with which package crystal report runtime libarary. when are trying to open the crystal report from our product. it displays the crystal viewer as report. we are specifically looking for thai support.when run the report from our product it shows corrupt data. but from crystal design it show correct. what would be the problem? also we have web product, same report opened on web(it has an address of web server where crystal report server is installed) it works fine for thai data.

    WEB server is likely missing or does not have access to the Thai fonts. Open Control, Regional and Language Settings, Language tab and check on both options if not already done so. Then click on the Advanced Tab and check on the option for Default user account settings to enable anyone or any app to have access to the Thai fonts sets.
    Also confirm you are using and distributing the MLB version, includes all the language resource dll's for CR. Which ever fonts you designed the reports with also needs to be installed on the WEB server.
