The .air installer file of my application is damaged.

Hi all,
I am a developer for a desktop application to be installed in windows and mac. The air file is signed and migrated to new certificated as detailed here (Adobe AIR 1.5 * Signing an AIR file to change the application certificate). But while launching the installer in windows, the installer fails with the message "The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author." I have tried doing the following
- checked my date/time
- uninstalled/reinstalled the application
- removed the installtion folder  etc.
But still the issue persists. Before failing, it also shows a dialogue that the "publisher identity is verified" - so I believe this issue is not related with codesigning/certificates, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Thanks,
VivekS

You can execute a fixed number of iterations using a while loop by comparing the iteration count to the number of iterations you want and wiring the output of that comparison (e.g. Less Than or Equal To) to the continue (or stop) terminal of your while loop. Which comparison you use depends on personal preference, where you wire the desired count and the interation count, and whether you're using the while loop as Continue if True or Stop if True.
Ben gave you step-by-step instructions in response to your previous question. Look here for Ben's response.
Ben's response looks pretty good and detailed to me. It certa
inly deserved better than a 1-star rating.

  • Adobe air installation file

I am trying to download caller id on my pc. This download needs the adobe air installation file in order for it to download.
I have adobe air, but when I download for the caller id to be  installed I get this error message; "Application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged.  Try to obtain a new installer from the application author". I noticed on the forum that a few members are having the same problem. If it has been solved, please pass it on to me.
Just an afterthought, I have Comcast triple play which includes the pc caller id. Comcast does not repair computers, therefore I'm hoping this forum can help me.
    Thank you,
    Teri Rossi

I don't quite understand. Do I have to post my question again in air installation forum. Or are you telling me it's been moved to the correct forum. I thought I did put my question in that forum. Please explain, I'm new here.

  • How do I work around large AIR Installer file for app updates?

I develop AIR apps which often come with many included files (pdf, doc, swf, images, etc).  These get quite large, Total Air installer size measured in Gigs.   Distribution is via DVD.  Currently I create sub-folders under my project and place the assets.  Works fine.
The rub comes when I want to issue program updates.  The AIR update process would be great if I could just update my main program swf, but what I'm finding is that even if I'm doing a minor code update I still have to create this same multi-gigabyte AIR installer.
If I were using a Visual Studio installer I'd just include some sort of run-once that would copy all the assets after the installer completed.  Then when building an update it would skip the 'copy all' part...but I can't see any way to do something similar with the AIR installer.
So, to summarize, I'd like to be able to issue updates to my main AIR SWF without including all the assets again.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg.

No, I don't have any recommendations. You would need to sign up for the AIR redistribution program. When you do this you gain access to some tools that help the process. http://www.adobe.com/products/air/runtime_distribution1.html
The only warning is that you will have to create an installer for each of your target platforms (unless you find an installer product that is also cross-platform, of course).

I bought a new laptop (Macbook) but the current installation files I have of Photoshop Elements 12 is for Windows, how can I change this? Or do I have to purchase an all new photoshopset? I hope not because that would be really expensive.

Really? That's extremely unusual. Have you looked at all the discs? In any case you can download the mac version here:

  • I recently re-installed my snowleopard OS 10.6 Since the re-installation a number of applications are now saying that this versions of "iPhoto" requires mac os 10.7.5 and i am running 10.6.8

I recently re-installed my snowleopard OS 10.6 Since the re-installation a number of applications are now saying that this versions of "iPhoto" requires mac os 10.7.5 and i am running 10.6. Prior to my re-install of 10.6 i confirmed that i was using 10.6.8. Since i have never run 10.7 on this computer i am baffled as to why these applications are now demanding is after a re-install.
    any advice would be appreciated.

Using my Grey Install CD i ran the optional install of just the application package, however the applications still respond in the same way. "You can't use this version of the application _______ with this version of Mac OS X"
What is still baffaling me here is that i haven't ever upgraded these apps in the app store above Mac OS X 10.6.8. My reinstallation of the operating system was done via the original Snow Leapard Install CD. Prior to the reinstallation i was running 10.6.8 with all applications working.
My issue here is this computer is within an education computer lab so simply going out and buying Lion may not be an option.
Additional information that may shed light:
Identical computer running within the same computer lab is using successfully:
         Mac OS X
         10.6.8
         Iphoto '11
         Version 9.2.3

  • HT1926 Why can't I download the itunes installer file to my iPhone?

It is required to run on my PC inorder to use my iPhone as an internet connection!!! *** Apple spend hundreds on the latest greatest brick and it still ***** very unhappy 5s (s is apparently for SUCKER) owner.
I use my phone as a hotspot and I recently had to restore my windows computer, thus deleting the itunes program and installer... Sooooo I figure no big deal the iPhone shows up in windows 8 with a drive labeled "internal storage" why can I not simply download the windows installer file to that folder on my iPhone and run it on my PC ( much like a very over priced thumb drive) but no sir apple prohibits it's iPhone from downloading .exe files to anywhere on itself through safari ***???? Yes I can go to any public library and download it to a thumb drive in the morning but what to do all night???? ..... I got it vent about the infinite ways the control misers at Apple find to make the simplest of tasks next to impossible... Will once again be an android user in the bear future.... Expense is justified in defense if common sense... So to you apple I give -1 of 5 stars for overbearing control freak power hungry activities!!!!

It's a phone, not a thumb drive. If you want to download an .exe file to a thumb drive, then buy one. We are not Apple here - we are just users like you, and this is a user to user technical help forum. So, if you have a technical question please ask it.
Otherwise, you are wasting your breath.

  • Missing the itunes installation file

i am missing the itunes installation file and thus can't uninstall old version or install new version - can someone help? thanks in advance

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Hello wilsona1234,
Sorry for the trouble. What is the exact detection from Norton for the installation file? Did you download itunes from the legitimate Apple web site? What is the error you are referring to?
    Thanks,

  • This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application is damaged, and can't be used to install OS X.

This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application is damaged, and can't be used to install OS X.

I attempted to burn a DVD of the installer, but that didn't work (files are too big).
Also grabbed the ESD from inside the package and it started to work, then hung on the "installing" screen.
Here is how I finally solved the problem after redownloading it 4-5 times:
Put my MacBook Pro into target mode and used my Mac Mini to install Mtn Lion.
At first the installer balked saying it wasn't signed right or some such BS. I tried again and it worked fine. I now even have a recovery parition which I didn't have before.
So in the end I have no idea what the problem was but it was not:
A proxy error corrupting the download
A corrupted download of any kind
    Permissions errors
    Hard drive errors
Incompatability with RAM or my hardware
    Incompatibility of my partitioning scheme
I think there is a bug in the "pre-flight" checks the installer does prior to doing its job.

  • Cannot install mountain lion. error "This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application is damaged, and can't be used to install OS X."

cannot install mountain lion. error "This copy of the Install OS X Mountain Lion application is damaged, and can't be used to install OS X."

You do meet the hardware requirements. Otherwise you wouldn't have been able to purchase ML.
If you're connected wirelessly to your router, connect with Ethernet.
If you're connecting through a proxy, connect directly.
Boot in safe mode (shift key down at startup) and try again.

  • Can developers distribute the Adobe AIR installer with their desktop applications?

Yes. In addition to creating and distributing cross-platform Adobe AIR application installer files, it is possible for developers to write their own custom native installers that install Adobe AIR and the Adobe AIR application.
In order to do this, developers must first apply for and receive a free http://www.adobe.com/products/air/runtime_distribution1.html.

I'm going to forward this along to our android team for their review.  In the meantime, could you open a bug on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please post back with the URL so that others affected can visit the bug and cast their votes.
    Thanks,

I have another application developed in Flex Builder 3 and a release build with the same installer has no problem.
I appreciate you reading this and trying to help me

Try to download that again or disable the antivirus while downloading and after that enable it. Further try to run it in administrator mode if possible.

  • How can I copy the dmg installer file to a thumbdrive?

So we purchased a new iMac. The geniuses at the apple store installed Mountain Lion using their installation software. I want a backup copy of the installation files.
I was able to use unix/terminal to boot and display the boot disk and begin the installation process, which I intended to save to an external hard drive and copy the dmg file to a thumbdrive BEFORE the computer automatically restarted and deleted it. I even opened a microsoft word document thinking that without saving it would halt the restart process, but no. The computer restarted automatically without giving me the opportunity to copy the dmg file.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a unix command to halt the restart?
    Thanks.

What I did when I got a new Macbook Pro was to get a 16GB USB Thumb Drive (or was it 32GB) and used SuperDuper to clone the boot disk to the USB Thumb Drive.  (Carbon Copy Cloner could also be used).
Now I have a bootable copy of my Macbook Pro while it was young and uncluttered with all my junk.  The clone  has all my extra apps, such as iPhoto, Garageband, iMove, etc... that is not part of the Mac OS X distribution, and you only get when buying a new Mac.
When doing an upgrade, I download the new version (Lion, Mountain Lion, future "Cat"), and they quit the installer before it does anything.  Now looking in Applications, there is an "Install OS X Lion", or "Install OS X Mountain Lion", etc...  I made a copy of that app on a USB Thumb Drive or DVD.  There have also been instructions on the web about how to make this into a bootable DVD or Thumb Drive.  I have not bothered with that, as I have my above mentioned original clone I can boot from, and there is always the recovery partition I can boot from as well.
If you wish to have the Mac boot back into the initial setup mode, you can remove the following file and reboot:
    rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

  • How can I delete the update installation files? Or which files are useless and safe to delete?

ThinkVantage System Update application will find the appropriate updates, download them and install them. This is convenient. But when it finishes the updates, it will not clean the installation files it has downloaded, which I think are not useful any more since the update installation is completed, right?
I think the update appliction stores the downloaded files in the folder: C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ ,   this folder of mine is over 1.32GB big now. But I just don't know which files and subfolders in it are safe to delete.
Or rather, the preload system occupies a large space on the disk. Which files are no longer used and safe to delete?
Would any experts help with this? Thank you very much!
    Norm

I've been experimenting. Now I figure it out. Automatic System Update downloads and stores files in C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ Sessions\, and in Sessions' subfolders, all files are not used once update is completed except those ending with .xml. Thus those unnacessary files are safe to delete.
This is what I find out so far.
    Continuing to experiment.
